        실 상황하에서 안전에 대한 훈련이나 시뮬레이션은 매우 위험한 결과를 초래할 수 있으므로 효과적인 훈련을 하기가 어렵다. 그러나 가상현실 기술을 이용하여 몰입감 있는 가상환경을 구축하여 활용하면 참여자가 위험에 직접 노출되지 않고 안전에 대한 훈련을 받을 수 있으며, 여러 시나리오에 대한 시뮬레이션을 할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로 가상현실의 안전분야에 대한 응용은 급속도로 확대될 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 가상현실의 안전분야 응용에 대한 범주를 제시하고, 응급상황의 발생 시에 이를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 가상환경을 구축하기 위한 개발단계를 제시한다.

        The paper describes creation methods of background scenes to implement realistic virtual environments in the VRSS (Virtual Reality Ship Simulator). VRSS is next-generation system constructed with virtual tools in a virtual space. Thus, it could have many benefits compared to conventional ship simulators composed with heavy bridge mock-up system and wide visual presentations. In this work, we developed effective 3D object modeling techniques, and constructed virtual harbor scene by using 3D-Webmaster authoring tool. The virtual harbor was built with object-oriented 3D objects modeled to interact with user's action. With the immersion-type VR system, we created virtual harbor environments in a virtual space, and discussed on the naturalness of the scene with test results of SDMPA (Semantic Differential Method for Psychophysical Assessment) by 10 subjects. As the results of subject assessment, all of the participants could felt natural-like harbor. Therefore, we found that the proposed creation methods and procedures of background scene are enabling to fit to the full mission VRSS construction.

        The paper describes system design of next-generation Ship Simulator using Virtual Reality (VRSS), well known as human-computer interaction. VRSS system is required to have special condition that comprises multiple user participants such as captain, officer, pilot, and quartermaster. To cope with that condition, core technologies were explored and proposed multi-networking system with broker server. The evaluation of the proposed system was done with PC-based immersion-type VR device, constituted with HMD (Head Mounted Display), Head Tracking Sensor, Puck, Headphone, and Microphone. Using the VR device, assessment test was carried out in a virtual bridge with 3D objects, which are created by VRML (Virtual Reality Model Language) program. As results of tests, it is shown that the cybernetic 3D objects were act as if real things in a real ship's bridge. Therefore, interesting interaction with participants can be obtained in the system, Thus, we found that the proposed system architecture can be applicable to VRSS system construction.

        Too many big accidents have been occurring in Korea during '90. Those were accidents of Sung-Soo Bridge in 1994 and Sam-Poong Department Store in 1995. It was confirmed that the causes of the accident were unreliable construction or building. Therefore, in this study are to use technique of virtual reality(VR) simulation in order to prevent construction accidents. To set up the VR in safety construction, Date Base of variables, VR model and expert system are needed. This system is to build expert system, to visualize of the VR system and navigation, and to find out design errors of construction. Therefore, the purpose of this was to analyze accident type of construction, and apply VR system for simulation technique.

        W. B. Yeats and Thomas Hardy, as poets, were contemporaries. Their long careers spanned the transition from Romanticism to Modernism and their poetry constitute two of the most powerful dealings with that transition and those traditions. Younger poets after Yeats and Hardy have attested to their significant influences on their works respectively. Until 1930s it seems that the poets preferred Hardy as their poetic model, but after the 30s such a stand has become unpersuasive. Considering the course and interdependence of these two poets’ reputations and influences, we are led to acknowledge that Yeats and Hardy defined the options for poets for the whole period of the 20th century and that consequently poets have tended to be divided into two distinguishable streams. This paper aims to distinguish those different streams through the poetic works of Yeats and Hardy. There is some hint of determinism in both Yeats and Hardy, but with very important difference. In Yeats’s early poetry human weakness is implied despite a heavy-handed insistence on nature’s sympathetic; identification with man. But Hardy’s poetry implies a human strength in the face of a nature indifferent to man’s social arrangements and adjustments. Yeats proceeds dramatically to make a system, a private mythology; Hardy shows the structure of a mind capable of coming to a disturbing conclusion. Both Yeats and Hardy find nature for the most part unsympathetic to man, but while Yeats prefers to escape to a dreamy or fairy land or The Great Mind, Hardy illustrates man’s own resistance and adjustment within this world of reality. So, while Yeats offers a vision of a higher reality beyond or behind nature, Hardy, as a result of his acute scrutiny of appearances of the real world, offers us personal and narrative instances of man’s responses to the neutrality of nature. Hardy’s dealings with reality are for the most part moral, while those of Yeats’s incline to amorality, which means that Yeats allows himself to wander far from an acknowledgment of the limits of our individual lives and strengths. These different attitudes to reality lead to their poetic tone: Hardy’s-control of tone, Yeats’s being high and energetic. Considering the comparative characteristics of Yeats and Hardy we are led to conclude that they defined the options for the younger poets following after then: experimental and traditional, modernist and anti-modernist visionary, and discursive and rhetorical and plain.

        이 논문에서는 가상현실로 잘 알려진 인간과 컴퓨터 상호 작용에서의 3차원 음장 재생을 위한 요소 기술을 논하였다. 이 연구의 목적은 가상 공간과 같은 가상 환경을 갖는 선박 조종 시뮬레이터의 구현 가능성을 검토하는데 있다. 이 연구에서는 머리 전달 함수(HRTF)를 이용한 3차원 음장 재생에서의 몇가지 핵심 기술을 고찰하고, 필터 탭수를 줄이기 위한 방법과 3차원 음장에서의 불연속 영역을 보간하기 위한 방법을 기술하였다.

        Synthetic membrane processes are being increasingly integrated into existing reaction, isolation, and recovery schemes for the production of valuable biological molecules. In many cases they are replacing traditional unit processes. The properties of membrane systems which are most often exploited for both upstream and downstream processing and their permselectivity, high surface area per unit volume, are their potential for controlling the level of contact and/or mixing between two separate phases. Advances in both membrane materials and module design and operation have led to better control of concentration polarization and membrane fouling. After presenting some recent advances in membrane materials and fluid mechanics, we demonstrate how membranes have been integrated into cellular and enzymatic reaction schemes. This is followed by a review of established and emerging synergism between biological processes and synthetic membranes.
