        In this study, Corrosion behavior in mortar was observed by the passage of time by using EIS method. As a result of EIS experiment, equivalent circuit and changes of Impedance parameter could be observed. In addition, it was confirmed that impedance of rebar in concrete and corrosion rate according to the amount of NaCl and LiNO2 were different.

        PSC(Prestressed Concrete)는 전단면을 유효하게 사용할 수 있으므로 교량 및 암거와 같은 구조물에 가장 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러 나 내부의 텐던은 항상 높은 인장하중을 받는 상태에 노출되므로 부식환경에서 더욱 주의를 해야한다. 본 연구는 동일한 부식조건에서 프리스 트레싱 하중에 따라 변화하는 부식전류 및 내력저하에 대한 연구이다. 이를 위해 초기 프리스트레싱 하중의 0.0%, 20.0%, 40.0%수준으로 가력 한 뒤, ICM(Impressed Current Method)를 이용하여 촉진부식실험을 수행하였다. 초기 하중이 증가할수록 부식전류와 부식량은 증가하였으며 최대하중의 감소가 선형적으로 발생하였다. 초기하중이 20%에서 40%로 증가할 때, 부식전류량은 124.4%와 168.0% 수준으로 증가하였으며, 최종 파괴시의 하중은 87.8% 및 78.4%수준으로 감소하였다. 동일한 전압인가 시 부식속도와 내력저하는 인가한 초기 프리스트레싱 하중에 비 례함을 알 수 있다.

        There increasing demand for technologies that are capable of producing heat and electric energy by burning fuels such as solid refuse fuel (SRF) and biomass to mitigate the effects of greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and global warming in the field of thermal power generation. In particular, conversion of SRF into energy (Waste to Energy) is the promising technology with high economic and social benefits. The high temperature corrosion of the heat exchange tube is the most important factor that affects the economic deterioration of a circulating fluidized bed boiler using solid refuse fuel, due to operating time decrease and the periodic shutdown during plant operation. The purpose of this study was to examine the high temperature corrosion characteristics of boiler superheater tubes. The change of corrosion characteristics according to the temperature and alkali chloride salt can be investigated by analyzing the morphology of the surface and the microstructure of specimen cross-section and examining the changes in the physical and chemical properties. The degree of corrosion increased as the temperature increased and the weight of the alkali chloride specimen deposit decreased due to the volatilization of the metal chloride compound above 700°C. Deposits of KCl were found to accelerate corrosion by destroying the oxide layer and forming potassium compounds.

        Background : Corrosion is one of the most devastating problems faced by most industries. Mild steel has played a vital role in various fields due to the excellent mechanical properties of mild steel such as low density, high strength-to-weight ratios, good environmental stability, high thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. Methods and Results : The total phenolic contents (TPC) and total flavonoid contents (TFC) of the methanolic extract of C. grandiflora and R. verniciflua leaf have been examined, and its corrosion inhibition performance was investigated by weight loss and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization measurements. The surface morphology of mild steel was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The percentage composition of polyphenolic compounds was found to be higher in C. grandiflora and R. verniciflua plant extracts, and it was proved to be a superior, eco-friendly, and anti-corrosive inhibitor for mild steel in 1M of H2SO4. The Tafel polarization studies indicate that the plant extract is a mixed-type inhibitor. Scanning electron microscopy/energy -dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) studies confirmed the formation of a protective film on the metal surface. The corrosion inhibition of the C. grandiflora and R. verniciflua plant extracts was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), UV-visible spectra, and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies; these show the strong interaction between the metal surface and the inhibitor. Conclusion : The methanolic extract was prepared the two different plants like C. grandiflora, and R. verniciflua was studied the corrosion inhibition on the mild steel specimen in acidic medium through various methods involving weight loss measurements, EIS, and potentiodynamic polarization. The results shows that the C. grandiflora, and R. verniciflua plant extracts illustrate an effective corrosion inhibitor for mild steel with good anticorrosion properties in acidic environmen

        보일러 관의 부식 현상은 오랫동안 다양한 산업분야 걸쳐 제기되어 오는 주요한 문제 중의 하나이다. 특히, 온도는 보일러 관의 부식 현상을 야기시키는 주요한 영향 인자 중에 하나이다. 하지만, 기존의 보일러 시스템의 경우 장기간의 운전으로 인해 온도에 따른 부식 발현을 면밀히 관찰하기에는 부적합한 부분이 있다. 따라서 우리는 기존의 보일러 설비처럼 보일러 관의 내부와 외부 온도조건을 달리하여 제어할 수 있는 장비를 구축하였다. 이를 통해서 다양한 온도 및 환경조건에서 보일러 관의 고온 부식에 대한 실험을 진행할 수 있었다. 결국 FE-SEM(field emission scanning electron microscope), EDS(energy dispersive spectrometer), XRD(X-ray diffraction)를 통한 분석결과로부터 다각적으로 고온 조건에 인한 부식발생기작에 대해 유추할 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 weight loss method를 통해서 고온에 따른 부식으로 인한 보일러 관의 두께 및 무게 감량 결과를 통해서 해당 조건에서의 보일러 관의 수명 또한 예측할 수 있었다.

        콘크리트는 다공성 건설재료이며, 매립된 철근의 부식은 내구성 및 안전성에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 비파괴 검사인 반전위측 정값과 생성된 부식량과의 상관성을 피복두께, 물-시멘트비를 고려하여 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 3가지 수준의 물-시멘트비와 4가지 수준 의 피복두께를 가진 시멘트 모르타르 시편이 제조되었으며, 3가지 수준의 촉진부식기간을 고려하여 부식량 및 반전위를 측정하였다. 습윤상태 에서는 반전위가 크게 증가하였으며, 부식량과 촉진기간은 선형적인 관계를 가지고 있었다. 부식량이 증가할수록, 피복두께가 감소할수록, 물-시멘트비가 증가할수록 반전위는 증가하였다. 전체의 반전위 측정값을 부식량과 비교할 경우 0.67의 낮은 결정계수를 가지고 있었으나 부식 량(촉진기간)을 고려하여 3가지 수준을 고려할 경우 0.90이상의 높은 결정계수를 가지고 있었다. 실내조건과 같이 온도가 일정하고 포화상태 일 경우, 측정된 반전위는 부식량과 선형적인 상관성을 가지고 있었으며, 피복두께, 물-시멘트비, 철근직경, HCP의 측정범위를 알 수 있다면, 매립된 철근의 부식량을 예측할 수 있다고 판단된다.

        플라이애시가 시멘트의 대체재로 사용되면서 플라이애시는 콘크리트의 특성변화에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보통 콘크리트와 플라이애시를 혼입한 콘크리트의 철근부식에 대한 저항성을 평가하였다. 부식속도가 가장 빠른 간만대 환경을 모사한 최적 건습 반복시험방법을 찾고 해양환경폭로시험장의 간만대에 장기간 노출된 시편의 철근부식모니터링 시험결과와의 비교를 통해 FA 혼입에 따른 OPC 대비 부식 지연비를 도출하였다. 반전지전위법에 의한 부식 모니터링 결과 인공해수에 3일간 침지 후 4일간 건조의 반복 조건보다는 염수 를 시편 상부에 침지시켜 염수 및 산소의 공급이 계속되는 염수 ponding 시험법이 부식을 촉진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 모든 시험법에서 OPC 에 비해 FA의 철근 부식이 지연되었다. FA의 철근부식 지연비율은 재령이 증가할수록 증가하였으며 OPC 대비 최대 27%까지 철근부식이 지 연되었다. 그 결과 플라이애시 콘크리트는 재령이 증가할수록 철근부식 저항성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

        Raw and secondary waste materials from recycling products have been used to produce cements. A total of 10 cements produced from recycling products were analyzed for chemical composition, such as Na2O, MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, SO3, Cl, K2O, CaO, TiO2, Cr2O3, MnO, Fe2O3, CuO, ZnO, and PbO, using the Korean standard leaching test. The total content of toxic substances, such as Pb, Cd, Cu, As, Hg, and Cr(VI), present in each cement was also measured. The corrosion characteristics of cement leachates were also determined by measuring their pH values using an ion selective electrode and measuring the corrosion rate of a circular steel plate in each leachate. The chemical composition of the cements was found to be 60-67% CaO, 18-23% SiO2, and 5-6% Al2O3. Based on the results of the leaching tests, the samples did not exceed the prescribed regulatory leaching levels. The total content of toxic substances in each cement did not exceed the voluntary agreement criteria of 20 mg/kg. In the case of the corrosion characteristics of the cement leachates, the pH of each leachate was greater than 12.5 and the corrosion rate of a circular steel plate in each leachate did not exceed 6.35 mm/yr. The correlation between pH and the corrosion rate of steel in the solid waste leachates was difficult to determine.

        NaCl과 LiNO2의 첨가량에 따른 콘크리트에 매립된 철근의 부식거동을 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법을 이용하여 고찰하였다. 부식 가속 방법중 하나인 건습반복법을 이용하여 단기간 내에 부식현상을 촉진하였으며, 측정된 임피던스 값을 통해 등가회로를 제안할 수 있었다. NaCl 1.2 kg/m3이 첨가된 콘크리트에 매립된 철근의 부동태 피막이 빠르게 파괴되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 염화물 첨가량 대비 0.6M의 LiNO2를 첨가한 경우 부식진행속도가 크게 저하하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 염화물 첨가량 대비 1.2M의 LiNO2를 첨가한 경우 부동태 피 막이 부식가속시간이 지나도 파괴되지 않고 성능이 유지되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

        High temperature corrosion is a major issue in waste-to-energy (WTE) facilities because it effects running cost and energy utilization efficiency. Corrosion of heating surfaces in WTE boilers is a complex phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to analyze the high temperature corrosion characteristics of WTE boiler tubes and to determine the influences of high temperature corrosion on heat exchange. Heating surface corrosion samples for this research were obtained from a superheater tube in municipal solid refuse fuel-fired power plant. Surface morphology, microstructure and phase composition were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The morphology of the heating surface was rough and had porous structures. The chlorine content of the surface was 7.4wt.% and the samples were mainly composed of hematite (Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4). The thermal conductivity of the corrosion samples was characterized using thermal conductivity measurements and was found to be 2.33 W/mK at 500oC. This result, which is 17 times less than that of boiler tube carbon steel (40.40 W/mK), indicates that corrosion of WTE boiler tubes is closely related to a decrease in boiler heat exchange efficiency.

The deterioration of steel girder ends due to deck joint leakage and occasional spray from passing vehicles usually cause section losses and strength reduction. This report presents th results of a study carried out to repair corroded steel box girder bridge.

        There are various method for evaluating the durability life of concrete structures due to salt damage . The best way is to perform a corrosion test for a rebar embedded in concrete specimen was exposure to marine environment. However, this method has the disadvantage that it takes a long period of time. Also, accelerated corrosion test which was complemented complements the time-consuming weakness is limited to apply because it could not reveal a correlation between long-term exposure test. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to derive a correlation coefficient between cycle drying -wetting accelerated corrosion test and long-term exposure test. Corrosion initiation time was measured in four types of concrete samples, i.e., two samples mixed with fly ash(FA) and blast furnace slag(BS), and the other two samples having two water/cement ratio(W/C = 0.6, 0.35) without admixture(OPC 60 and OPC 35). The accelerated corrosion test was carried out by two case, i.e., one is a cyclic drying-wetting method(case 1), and the other is a artificial seawater ponding test method(case 2). Whether corrosion occurs, it was measures using half-cell potential method. The results indicated that case 1 is to accelerated the corrosion of rebar about 24~36% as compared with case 2, then the corrosion of rebar embedded in concrete occurred according to the order of OPC60, FA, BS, OPC35. Correlation coefficient between accelerated corrosion test and long-term exposure test, case 1 is 4.23 to 5.42, and case 2 is 6.54 to 7.82.

        Recently, interests for maintenance of transmission tower are increasing to extend life of structures and reduce maintenance cost. However, existing classical diagnosis method of corrosion deteriorated degree on the transmission tower steel members, visual inspection, has a problem that error often due to difference of inspector’s individual knowledge and experience. In order to solve the problem, this study carried out to develop the corrosion deterioration inspection tool for transmission tower steel members. This tool is composed of camera equipment and computer-aided diagnosis system. We standardized the photographing method by camera equipment to obtain suitable pictures for image processing. Diagnosis system was designed to evaluate automatically degree of corrosion deterioration for member of transmission tower on the basis of the RGB color image processing techniques. It is anticipated that developed the corrosion deterioration inspection tool will be very helpful in decision of optimal maintenance time for transmission tower corrosion.
