        This article discusses the nature of Korean classical Chinese texts, or Sino-Korean texts and pays attention to the need for compiling various reference works in pre-modern Korean studies. And it suggests that the introduction of Digital Humanities to the field is necessary and discusses the conditions for successful Digital Humanities in the field. Due to the ambiguity and complexity of Sino-Korean texts, students of the field need various reference works to refer to for a clear understanding of the texts. It is recently and widely accepted as an urgent task to compile various reference works for Korean studies, ranging from linguistic and term dictionaries to encyclopedias. However, since the number of people who want to use paper dictionaries and reference books continues to reduce, reference work projects for Korean studies need to consider changing the direction. Adopting the Digital Humanities methods in the whole process of the projects can bring promptness, accuracy, and up-to-date-ness to the projects, and enable the field to extend the territory and maximize versatility. In doing so, the projects of reference work for Korean studies can continue to contribute to the development of Korean studies. It can also be used as a useful cultural content on the Internet. There are two issues to take into consideration regarding adopting Digital Humanities for reference work making for Korean studies. One is fostering editors and project managers of Digital Humanities projects for Korean studies; the other is to establish a standard for reference work making projects for effective communication, project planning & evaluation, and manpower training, etc.

        고준위방사성폐기물의 처분터널 및 처분공 간격을 결정하고 처분시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위해서는 열-수리-역학적인 복합 거동 변화에 대한 이해가 반드시 필요하고 이를 반영하여 해석해야만 한다. 하지만 한국형 기준 처분시스템에서의 처분 터널 및 처분공 간격을 결정하기 위해 수행된 기존의 연구들은 이러한 복합거동 특성을 반영하지 않고 열 해석 결과만을 근거로 처분시스템을 설계하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 열-수리-역학적인 복합거동 특성을 반영하여 한국형 기준 처분시스템의 성능을 TOUGH2-MP/FLAC3D를 이용하여 평가하였다. 고준위방사성폐기물이 처분된 이후 방사성 붕괴열에 의해 처분 시스템의 온도는 급격히 증가하다가 붕괴열의 감소로 온도는 서서히 감소하였으며, 해석 기간 1,000년 동안 벤토나이트 완충재의 최고 온도는 설계 기준인 100℃ 이하로 유지되는 것으로 나타났다. 처분용기와 벤토나이트 완충재의 계면에서의 최고 온도는 약 3.21년이 지난 시점에 용기의 중간 지점에서 약 96.2℃로 나타났으며, 암반에서의 최고 온도는 폐쇄 후 약 17년 이 지난 시점에서 약 68.2℃로 계산되었다. 처분용기 부근 벤토나이트 완충재는 처분 초기에 온도 변화에 따른 건조현상이 발생하여 포화도가 감소하지만, 시간이 지남에 따라 주변 암반으로부터의 지하수 유입에 의해 포화도가 증가하는 것으로 계 산되었다. 이후, 벤토나이트 완충재 및 뒷채움재 모두 약 266년 이후 완전히 포화되는 것으로 계산되었다. 처분시스템에서의 온도 변화에 따른 열응력 그리고 벤토나이트 완충재 및 뒷채움재의 팽윤압으로 인한 응력 변화가 처분장 주변 암반에 미치는 영향을 평가하고자 수치해석에서 계산된 응력을 스폴링 강도(spalling strength)와 Mohr-coulomb 파괴 기준식과 비교 하였다. 계산 결과 일축압축강도와 스폴링 강도에 도달하지 않는 것으로 나타나 처분시스템이 스폴링에 의한 파괴는 나타나지 않을 것으로 판단되며, Mohr-coulomb 파괴 기준 역시 충족하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 사용된 수치해석 코드와 방법론은 다양한 조건에서의 한국형 기준 처분시스템에 대한 성능평가뿐만 아니라, 복층 처분시스템에 대한 설계와 성능평가에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        This research critically analyzes terms of address and reference used between boyfriends and girlfriends to reveal hidden ideologies embedded in the everyday language. The analysis is base d on the Discourse-Historical Approach, focusing on the lexical choice of language users. The terms of address and reference used in romantic relationships is collected through web cartoon data and categorized according to the social distance and social status they signal. The analysis reveals that couples use asymmetric type of terms of address and reference to each other and all of the asymmetric sets put men in a more dominant position; While ”o-ppa” is a common choice to refer to a boyfriend, “nu-na” is never used to a girlfriend. In addition, men tend to use “o-ppa” to show powerful and tough personalities while women tend to use their own name to infantilize themselves. Through the critical analysis of this everyday language this study reveals that the gender inequality can be established at the stage of romantic relationships.

        The Straits of Malacca and Singapore is without hesitation, a vital sea lane of communication with the geographical advantage of linking the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Geographically, the Straits of Malacca and Singapore is shallow and fairly narrow on its eastern part and has created one of the most important traffic choke points in the world. Being a crucial sea-lane has experience the Straits with high density of vessel traffic. The increase in shipping activities has risen the challenge in safety of navigation and marine environmental protection problem which generally end up with huge financial losses for the seafarers and damages to the marine environment. Owing significant limitations in the geographical landscape, this article has primary objectives to examine how navigational safety and marine environment can be effectively protect using existing regulatory instruments. This article provides a review and analysis of existing laws and regulations to assess the status of navigational safety for marine environmental protection in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. The article also evaluates potential strategies to this problem using insights from literature. The article finds out that the littoral States to the Straits of Malacca and Singapore should adopt more forward-looking perspective in the formulation of legal measures to enhance navigational safety for marine environmental protection. The article finally suggests the potential strategies for navigational safety and marine environmental protection in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. This will help in setting priorities for future efforts in improving navigational safety for marine environmental protection with regard to international and regional initiatives.

        The stench of various sources has become a complex issue that all governments must face and solve. n-Butanol is often used as an odor intensity reference for daily air quality monitoring and evaluation. However, its odor space, including odor sensation and odor effect, is still not fully understood, especially in wide concentration ranges. This study described n-butanol odor character profiles with objective descriptors. They are mostly presented as “odorless” or “offensive” at low concentrations, and frequently characterized as “chemical” or “medicinal” at high concentrations. The semantic differential shows that n-butanol odor is a negative emotional odor rather than a positive one. The principal component analysis shows that the representative factors of the n-butanol sensibility structure according to the sensibility evaluation are expressed with diverse sensibility vocabulary, and ‘esthetics’ represent its characterless nature. The good linearity between intensity and concentration, the near absence of gender difference, diverse odor types rather than a specific type, and ease with which to make a wide range of concentrations, makes n-butanol a candidate to be considered as a suitable standard odorant.

        Millions of people worldwide use the Internet. One of the many uses derived from the Internet is the development of digital trade. Digital trade thus lends itself to distinctive issues. The WTO members recognized the benefits digital trade offers and have developed a work program to facilitate the digital trade. However, their efforts have stalled, slowing down the anticipated progress. The author will try to address how the WTO supports and deals with digital trade. This essay briefly discusses the historical advancement of the Internet; defines the concept of digital trade and its development in the international market; analyzes how existing WTO agreements have dealt with digital trade; and then addresses recent trade agreements particularly the USMCA. The USMCA was chosen because it involves the largest economy in the world and the US could use its provisions as template for future trade agreements

        목적 : 본 연구는 국내외에서 운전기능 선별검사 또는 운전적성검사로 사용되고 있는 선잇기 검사(Trail Making Test-A, B)를 고령 운전자가 쉽게 평가할 수 있도록 선잇기 검사-숫자, 요일로 변형하여 치매노인 및 경도 인지장애노인들의 수행능력을 관찰하였다. 또한 무사고 자가운전 고령자와 인지기능의저하를 보이는 고령자 사이의 수행시간을 비교하고 무사고 자가운전 고령자의수행능력을 기준으로 안전운전 수행 기준점을 제시하였다. 연구 방법 : 컴퓨터기반의선 잇기 검사-숫자와 선잇기 검사-요일의수행능력을 관찰하기 위하여 무사고자가 운전 고령자 12명과 장기요양등급을 받고 주간보호센터를 이용하는 고령자 40명을 대상으로 수행능력을 관찰하고 측정․비교하였다. 인지기능의측정은 한국형 간이정신상태검사(Korea-Mini Mental Status Examination)를 이용 하였고 컴퓨터 기반의수정된 선잇기 검사-시간, 요일의수행시간을 수행가능성을 관찰하고 측정하였다. 연구 결과 : 선잇기 검사-숫자, 요일 모두 두 그룹 간 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. K-MMSE와 선잇기 검사는 강한 음의상관관계를 보여 인지저하를 보일수록 선잇기 검사의수 행시간이 길어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 무사 고자가운전고령자 그룹의수행 수준을 참고하여 선잇기 검사-숫자의 경우 실수를 2회 이하로 수행하고 100초이 내로, 선잇기 검사-요일의기준 점은 선잇기 실수를 2회 이하로 수행하고 60초로 이내로 정하였다. 결론 : K-MMSE의 점수에 따른 고령자의운전기능평가로 활용되는 선잇기 검사-숫자, 요일의기준 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 안전운전에 의심 또는 위험군의인지 검사를 빠르게 선별할 수 있을 것이며, 이 검사를 실시한 후에 운전하기 적합하지 않은 인지저하운전자를 보다 자세한 검사로 측정하거나 전문적인 관찰을 요할 수 있을 것이다.

        The so-called Iran nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive plan of Action, is an agreement between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council as well as Germany and the EU to ensure that Iran’s nuclear program will be exclusively peaceful. Praised as an historic diplomatic achievement that resolved a decade-long crisis, the 2015 agreement is distinctive in its comprehensive provisions and innovative solutions to various legal and technical issues. However, US President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to withdraw the US from the agreement in May 2018 has put its future in peril. This paper attempts to analyze the legal aspects of the US’ decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear agreement with special reference to the currently on-going US-North Korea deal for the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. In the course of this study, special attention is given to the lessons learned from the Iran nuclear agreement.

        Honey bee, Apis mellifera L., have been widely used as a model organism for biological science because of its highly developed sociality, specialized labor division and passive population management. In order to examine the expression patterns of genes putatively involved in social development in honey bee, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) that has been widely used to investigate the expression level of target gene can be used in honey bee study. However, the selection and validation of optimal reference genes is a crucial step prior to running qRT-PCR. In the present study, therefore, the seasonal expression stability of five candidate reference genes in the abdomen of forager and nurse was investigated using three programs (geNorm, NormFinder and BestKeeper), and selected reference genes were validated by the normalization of expression level of vg encoding vitellogenin. Although three programs revealed slightly different gene stability values, overall the combination of two genes (rpS18 and gapdh encoding ribosomal protein S18 and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, respectively) was resulted in the most suitable use for normalization of the target gene in forager. However, a single gene, either rpL32 or rpS18 in the nurse or either rpL32, rpS18, or gapdh in the comparison between foragers and nurses, were suggested to be applied for normalization of seasonal and labor-specific gene expression by qRT-PCR.

        The fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, is a good model organism in various areas of biological science. Since D. melanogaster has been thought to be adapted to the chemical stress environment caused by the overripen, decay and fermented fruits, identification of the genes involved in chemical tolerance and investigation of their expression patterns are essential for better understanding of the physiological evolution in D. melanogaster. For investigation of the gene expression level, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) can be applied to quantify gene expression level and selection of reliable reference gene(s) for normalization is an accurate step. In the present study, therefore, we validated the expression stabilities of ten candidate reference genes using three softwares (geNorm, NormFinder and BestKeeper) in D. melanogaster exposed to different concentrations of acetic acid, ethanol and 2-phenylethanol. Although three programs resulted in slightly different gene stability ranks, but overall tbp encoding TATA box binding protein was most stable gene in acetic acid and ethanol exposed fly, while nd encoding NADH dehydrogenase was the most suitable reference gene in the case of 2-phenylethanol treatment. In the comparison of three chemical treatment condition, nd was also suggested to be most optimal reference gene. In addition, optimal number of reference gene for accurate normalization was calculated by geNorm pairwise analysis, and selection of multiple reference genes was suggested to be better for target gene normalization method than use of a single reference gene.

        과일이나 농작물의 부패 및 발효 환경에서는 Methanol, Ethanol, Acetic acid을 비롯한 다양한 화학물질들이 생산된다. Drosophila melanogaster는 이러한 발효·부패 환경에 서식하면서 일정 농도 이상의 다양한 화학물질에 지속적으로 노출되어 생존하도록 적응되어온 것으로 생각된다. 다양한 화학물질이 포함한 환경에 안정적으로 서식하기 위해서는 D. melanogaster는 화학물질에 능동적으로 반응하여 해독 유전자나 대사 관련 유전자의 발현량을 변화 시킴으로써 발효·부패 환경에서 생성되는 화학물질에 대한 높은 내성을 가지고 있을 것으로 판단된다. 현재까지 유전자의 발현량 측정을 위해 real-time PCR를 이용하여 reference gene의 발현량을 기준으로 정량화하는 방법이 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 조직별, 환경별, 발달단계를 비롯한 다양한 조건에서 안정적으로 발현되는 reference 유전자 선정이 필수적으로 선행되어야 하므로 본 연구에서는 발효·부패 환경에서 생산되는 두 화학물질인 Methanol과 Ethyl Acetate에 노출된 D. melanogaster에서 안정적으로 발현되는 reference gene을 찾는 연구를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 농도의 Methanol과 Ethyl Acetate을 D. melanogaster에 노출시킨 후 RNA 추출과 cDNA 합성을 실시였고, 5가지 후보 reference gene (hsp22, nd, rpL18, tbp and ef-1b)의 안정적 발현 여부를 qRT-PCR을 통해 조사하였으며, 유전자 발현의 안정성을 측정하는 3가지 프로그램(geNorm, NormFinder, BestKeeper)을 이용해 비교·분석하였다. 본 학회에서는 연구의 과정과 그 결과를 발표하고자 한다.

        In Korea, ecological research on the goral is underway to restore and increase population size of these ungulates, but clinical research on gorals species is still in its infancy. Owing to the nature of the gorals’ habitat, several animals live together within limited areas; so, the risk of parasitic infection is very high. In this study, we performed physical examination of 17 gorals undergoing breeding and restoration at the Korean Goral Restoration Center. Weight, ear height, horn length, withers height of the anthropometric data of this study were no differences from other researchers. Blood samples from each species were analyzed. There was no significant difference among individuals in terms each value examined, although some hematological and biochemical values, such as neutrophils, lymphocytes, glucose and amylase showed differences among individuals. The average values of blood tests in gorals ware lower in lymphocytes, blood urea nitrogen, and calcium than in livestock goats, and hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, and glucose were higher in livestock. Helminth eggs were detected in 15 out of 17 gorals by microscopic examination of their fecal samples, and Eimeria spp. and Strongyloides spp. were detected in all the gorals. However, there may be cases of death due to diarrhea, which may lead to a decrease in growth and production. Therefore, proper prevention and treatment are needed. These results may serve as an important reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of gorals. This information helps further understand the current health status of these species and may contribute to a more systematic restoration of the gorals.

        With the advancement of digital technologies, the importance of inbound marketing in the B2B is increasing rapidly. Previous studies on B2B marketing suggested that compelling content is a key component in B2B suppliers' inbound marketing. The most representative marketing content of B2B supplier firms is BRC (business reference content). BRC refers to a content, such as a ‘case study’ and/or a ‘success story’ that describes, in detail, deliveries of existing satisfied customers. Prior researchers argued that using existing customers as referrers enhances the confidence of potential customers, lowers perception of purchase risk. For these reasons, many B2B marketing experts consider BRC as the core of B2B digital marketing. Nonetheless, little is known regarding with researches on BRC in the academic domain. Therefore, there is urgent need for empirical research and an integrated model that can clarify the underlying mechanism of BRC. The focus of this study is to identify how BRC influences prospective customers' purchase decisions. To examine the underlying mechanism of BRC, our research focused on two unique aspects of BRC: 1) BRC format (narrative formant vs non-narrative format), and 2) ‘transportation’ to explain BRC effect process. Using a scenario-based online experiment, our results provide several interesting insights on the BRC. Results showed that stronger transportation takes place in narrative BRC (vs non-narrative BRC). In addition, narrative BRC has a positive impact on a favorable attitude toward referrer through transportation, which in turn lowers purchase risks (e.g. product performance risk, psychosocial risk, potential financial risk, and potential time risk). The results provide a clear basis for why it is important to use BRC in B2B supplier firms' marketing communication.

        Introduction: Country of origin has long been of interest to many researchers (e.g. Phao, 1993; Kalicharan, 2014; Yunus and Rashid, 2016). In part, this is because consumers evaluated the quality of a product based on where it was manufactured, and this became an important issue with the majority of fashion product production taking place in developing countries. Consequently, country of origin as a branding tool became an important factor in the fashion industry (Lee et al., 2013). Previously, numerous studies have suggested that consumers’ perception of, and association with, country of origin are influenced by different factors, such as social, environmental and political factors and the workmanship of the country in question (e.g. Insch and McBride, 2004; Jiménez and Martín, 2012; Lee et al., 2013; Mostafa, 2015). For example, Rashid and Barnes (2017) identified the influence the media industry has on the perception of a country’s image, i.e. the influence of a factory collapse in Bangladesh in 2013 (Bolle, 2014). In the same vein, studies on the country of origin effect have also found the influence that the halo and summary effects have on the product evaluation. For example, if consumers were less familiar with fashion products made in Indonesia, they would naturally infer the product attributes using the general image of Indonesian-made products, and thus rate the product based on their perception of the country as a whole (see also Kotabe and Helsen, 2009). In contrast, when consumers are familiar with a country’s products (i.e. fashion designers in Paris), a summary construct model operates in which consumers develop a country’s image from its product information, which then indirectly influences product perception (Han, 1989). In other words, a product naturally receives a positive attitude because of the perception of a country’s products. Moreover, studies have also examined the impact of patriotism and ethnocentric behaviour on association with country image. More recently, authors, e.g. Rashid et al. (2016) and Barnes and Rashid (2017), have also made a contribution towards managerial perspectives and issues relating to the country of origin impact on the fashion industry. However, no research to date has examined the influence of country of origin on purchase intention with specific reference to apparel fitting. Apparel fitting: Over the past two decades, authors have shown increasing interest towards the fit of apparel (e.g. Otieno et al., 2005; Apeagyei et al., 2007; Holmlund et al., 2011). For example, Shim and Bickle (1993) examined women 55 years and older as catalogue shoppers and their differences in satisfaction with the fit of apparel purchased through catalogues and found that the satisfaction level was relatively low for the entire sample of 872 respondents. Some of the key issues identified were that garment fits did not accommodate body proportions for the older market, especially those who did not fit sizes that were tailored for petit or plus sizes. Consequently, it is evident that age is an important factor in apparel fitting. Furthermore, Alexander et al. (2007) pointed out the issue of personal judgement on how a garment looks on the body. Finally, other factors have also been raised, such as fit association with comfort, body-cathexis (feelings about one’s body) and symbolic meanings in social interactions. Adding to this, Rahman et al. (2017) has also added how consumers often evaluate the product on the basis of descriptive, inferential, informational and/or visual cues, and these can be classified as extrinsic or intrinsic cues. “Extrinsic cues” are a product’s physical structure or appearance, such as price, brand name and country of origin, whereas intrinsic cues are inherent to the physical composition of a product such as fabric, fit, colour and style. Moreover, authors have very recently also looked at apparel fitting issues in online fashion retailing (Miell et al., 2017) and technologies linked to fitting, such as 3D body scanners in a retail store (Lewis and Loker, 2016). However, the apparel fit and size association with country of origin remains an under-researched area. Research design: As this study aims to explore country of origin association from an apparel fitting perspective, a qualitative interpretivist approach is adopted (Creswell, 2007; Welch et al., 2011). This is a significant contribution to the country of origin study, as previous country of origin studies from consumer perspectives have prominently been quantitative in nature (e.g. Insch and McBride, 2004; Jiménez and Martín, 2012). Participants for study will be chosen using a judgemental approach, in particular female shoppers who consider fitting an important factor when deciding on the brand from which to purchase a product. To carry out the study, the project will use face-to-face semi-structured interviews. The semi-structured interview questions derive from the country of origin literature and are influenced by theory planned behaviour model (TBP) (Azjan, 1991), taking into account both individual and social factors that may influence customer intention and attitude towards apparel fitting and its association and or perception of a country. Interviews will last between 60 and 90 minutes and will be conducted by the researchers from March 2018 to September 2018. To analyse the data, a thematic analysis approach will be utilised to develop an understanding of the meaning, as interpreted by participants. Discussion and conclusion: The data collection for this study will help address the gap regarding how consumers deem fit as one of the important factors influencing purchasing behaviour, but also their perception of how they associate a fit of a product with the country of origin of different fashion brands. The findings will make a contribution to the literature on country of origin, fashion branding and product management. The study may also introduce practical implications on how to make the service better in a fashion retail setting, where apparel fit is becoming an issue. Thus, the study may also add knowledge to the literature on service marketing.

        The rocky vegetation area of Sanbangsan is designated Natural Monument No. 376 and No. 3 National Scenic Site No. 77, and Yonggi is designated as Natural Monument No. 526 (January 13, 2011) and UNESCO World Geological Park (October 2010). Also, Yongmuri coast is the first candidate to become a World Natural Heritage site such as Mt. Halla, Seongsan Ilchulbong, and Geomun Aulm. As it is a place with excellent cultural value, we need Conservation Policy of Sanbangsan and Yongmari Coastal Heritage.
