조직배양묘인 Dtps. pulcherrima (sib.) × Dtps. ‘Kyotoprinty’ 를 이용하여 호접란 체세포 변이체의 형태적 유전 적 변이를 조사하였다. 잎과 꽃에서의 색깔과 형태 변이 도 다양하게 관찰되었다. 조직배양시에 발생하는 잎의 변이와 꽃의 변이중에서 대표적인 개체들 13개를 골라 정상적인 개체와 함께 total genomic DNA를 분리하고 RAPD 분석하여 변이체와 정상적인 개체간 DNA 밴드 차이가 나는지 살펴보았다. 그 결과 Operon primer OPO-06과 OPO-07를 이용한 PCR 분석에서 다형성이 관찰되었다. 잎의 변이를 일으킨 개체와 꽃의 변이를 야 기한 개체에서 각각 특이한 DNA Marker를 선발할 수 있었다.

It is commonly observed that Korean students tend to use the English conjunction so more often than any other English conjunction when expressing cause or reason in English. On the other hand, because is the conjunction of choice among native English speakers. This paper attempts to explain why Korean English learners have the tendency to use so over other conjunctions, and to analyze some of the similarities and differences in the use of Korean and English causal connectors. The findings of the study provide an empirical basis for the development of course design and teaching materials, especially for the development of courses in English writing for academic purposes.

In mammals, male and female germline stem cells are derived from primodial germ cells. Despite many efforts to identify stem cells from gonads, there has been little successe to identify germline stem cells yet. In this study, we isolate and characterized porcine germline stem cells using only stem cell markers that are prevalently expressed in various tissues. Gonadal cells derived from both male and female formed colonies and showed AP activities and different lectin binding properties. Pluripotency of germline stem cells was also identified by positive signals against putative stem cells markers such as SSEA-1 and SSEA-3. In addition, nestin was also found in primary gonad cells that have a similar morphology to the AP-positive cells. The nestin expression suggests that the germline stem cells may have similar expression of the prevalent stem cell markers found in other tissues. The demonstration of nestin expression together with pluripotent cell markers calls further investigation of the possible differentiation of nestin-positive cells into neurons.

The purpose of our sensor system is to transparentize the large hydraulic manipulators of a six-ton dual arm excavator from the operator camera view. Almost 40% of the camera view is blocked by the manipulators. In other words, the operator loses 40% of visual information which might be useful for many manipulator control scenarios such as clearing debris on a disaster site. The proposed method is based on a 3D reconstruction technology. By overlaying the camera image from front top of the cabin with the point cloud data from RGB-D (red, green, blue and depth) cameras placed at the outer side of each manipulator, the manipulator-free camera image can be obtained. Two additional algorithms are proposed to further enhance the productivity of dual arm excavators. First, a color correction algorithm is proposed to cope with the different color distribution of the RGB and RGB-D sensors used on the system. Also, the edge overlay algorithm is proposed. Although the manipulators often limit the operator’s view, the visual feedback of the manipulator’s configurations or states may be useful to the operator. Thus, the overlay algorithm is proposed to show the edge of the manipulators on the camera image. The experimental results show that the proposed transparentization algorithm helps the operator get information about the environment and objects around the excavator.

The study attempts to investigate how Korean native adult speakers comprehend the distributive function of extrinsic plural marker -tul(EPM) attached to different verb types. It also examines how the three verb types, each of which can evoke a distributive interpretation a collective interpretation and both of the interpretations, influence the sentence interpretation in terms of distributivity. The inconsistency of the previous analyses on the distributivity needs to be verified to shade light on Korean native adult speakers’ knowledge for the extrinsic plural marking from the experimental approach. To do so, the study employed Translation Task, in which the participants were asked to read a story that ends with a sentence to depict a situation. The last sentence was manipulated either to contain EPM attached to three different verb types or not to contain it. And then they were instructed to select any possible translations for the sentence among three choices that correspond to a distributive interpretation, a collective interpretation and both of the interpretations respectively. The results showed that Korean native adult speakers assigned more distributive interpretations to the sentences with EPM than sentences without it. It was also found that there were differences between verb types in evoking distributivity. However, the sentences with EPM also allowed for collective interpretations, which implies that it is not an obligatory distributor but plays a role of a distributive facilitator in the sentence interpretation.
