        Encyrtidae, belonging to Chalcidoidea (Hymenoptera), includes about 4,000 species in 460 genera worldwide. Many of the members are very important biological control agents of insect pests such as scale-insects (Hemiptera, Coccoidea). Many species have been relatively well studied in various taxonomic and biological fields because of economical and ecological importance of Encyrtidae. However, Korean encyrtids are poorly studied so far. In this presentation we will introduce the current status of taxonomy and biological characteristics of Encyrtidae. In addition further study plans are also presented.

        Asaphinae Ashmead, 1904 are the smallest subfamily in Pteromalidae and currently include 27 extant species of 6 genera. Up to date, only 2 species, Asaphes suspensus (Nees) and A. vulgaris Walker, have been recorded from South Korea. Among them A. vulgaris Walker is suspected of misidentified due to several reasons. Hyperimerus Girault, a small genus of the subfamily Asaphinae, consists of two world-wide species. It is close to Asaphes Walker but is separated by the following characteristics: antenna with one anelliform segment; scutellar frenum not distinct; petiole transverse. In this study, we report genus Hyperimerus based on Hyperimerus pusillus (Walker) for the first time from South Korea and Eastern Palearctic region. Also, a key to the genera of Asaphinae from South Korea, diagnosis, photographs of each species and taxonomic note of A. vulgaris Walker are provided.

        Delphacidae is the most diverse group in the Superfamily Fulgoroidea (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Fulgoromorpha) with more than 2000 reported species worldwide. This group is commonly called planthoppers, because most members are grass-feeding species. Some members are known as vectors of economically important plant viruses, and damage to several crops in many countries. Stenocranus is one of the biggest groups in the Delphacidae. In Korea, there have been eight recorded species. In this presentation, we present taxonomic review of the Stenocranus with a new record in Korea. Morphological characters and key to Korean species are presented.

        Until now, 12 subspeceis of Eucarabus (Parhomopterus) sternbergi has been recorded in South Korea and some were described by foreign entomologist without comparative examination. In addition, most of them were not reviewed since the original description. Therefore, based on this study, all subspecies of this group in South Korea were revised taxonomically, and a new subspecific key was provided. As a result, 8 subspecies of Eucarabus (Parhomopterus) sternbergi were confirmed in South Korea and their new synonyms are as follows: Eucarabus (Parhomopterus) sternbergi sternbergi (Roeschke, 1898) = E. (P.) s. gimhwa (Rapuzzi, 2015); E. (P.) s. honamensis (Kwon et Lee, 1984) = E. (P.) s. jindoensis (Rapuzzi, 2015) = E. (P.) s. goheungicus (Rapuzzi, 2015); E. (P.) s. schnelli (Lassalle, 1999) = E. (P.) s. deogyusan (Rapuzzi, 2015).

        The genus Microrhagus Dejean, 1833 is reviewed with four species from Korea: Microrhagus foveolatus (Fleutiaux, 1923), Microrhagus jejuensis sp. nov., Microrhagus mystagogus (Fleutiaux, 1923), and Microrhagus ramosus Fleutiaux, 1902. Herein, we provide a key to species of Korean Microrhagus, with diagnoses and photographs for each species.

        Two species of the genus Coccura Šulc, 1908 from Korea are reviewed. Coccura convexa Borchsenius, 1949 and C. suwakoensis (Kuwana and Toyoda, 1915) were recorded from North Korea by the report of Danzig (1980). Although Kwon et al. (2003) described Coccura comari (Kunow, 1880) from South Korea, we found that this species was misidentification of C. suwakoensis. In this study, we suggest that Coccura comari (Kunow, 1880) is to be excluded from the Korean fauna. The occurrence of C. suwakoensis is also recorded from South Korea for the first time, based on the additional populations which were heavily infested on the Chinese fingetree, Chionanthus retusus Lindley and Paxton. A key to the species of Coccura known from Korea is provided with diagnoses and photographs.

        The family Cicadellidae (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha) is one of the largest insect families, and contains approximately 22,000 described species. All members of this group are phytophagous, therefore, many of them are known as insect pests. Additionally, some species can transfer some pathogens such as viruses and phytoplasmas to plants as a vector. Macropsis (Cicadellidae: Macropsinae) is one of the largest groups in Cicadellidae, and has a world distribution. Among them, M. mendax and M. fuscula are famous for a vector associated with phytoplasma disease in Europe (Elm yellow, Rubus stunt disease). In Korea, three Macropsis species have been recorded to date. In this talk, genus Macropsis is reviewed from Korea. Morphological information such as diagnoses and descriptions of genitalia and the key to Macropsis are presented.

        Mirinae is the most diverse subfamily within the family Miridae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), and includes more than 4,000 species. In Korea, mirids were first recorded from Jeju Island in the mid-1960s. Since that study, numerous plant bug species from the Korean peninsula have been newly recognized and described. Previously, 101 species of Mirini were recorded from Korean peninsula. In this study, we provide an additional information of Mirini in Korea with a description of new species and new records.

        The Subspecies of lucanid beetle Cyclommatus metallifer (Boisduval, 1835) from Indonesia are revised here. Six subspecies were known from Indonesia. Among them, Cyclommatus metallifer otanii Mizunuma and Nagai, 1991 was confirmed to be a synonym of Cyclommatus metallifer aenomicans Parry, 1863. Moreover, a new subspecies, Cyclommatus metallifer butonensis ssp. nov., is described from Buton Island of Indonesia. The identification key, distributional data, photos of adult habitus, male genitalia, and figures for each species are provided.

        반날개과는 기록된 모든 생물분류군 가장 큰 과로 전 세계 3,870속 63,137종이 기록되어 있다. 이들은 바닷속과 남극 대륙을 제외한 모든 대륙과 서식처에서 발견이 되며, 다양한 종 수 만큼이나 다양한 서식환경과 먹이를 가진다. 한국산 반날개는 1886년 Kolbe에 의해 처음으로 곳체반날개(Paederus gottschei)가 세상에 알려졌으며, 일제 강점기를 거치며 20여 종이 더 알려졌다. 그 후 1990년까지는 단편적인 기록 외에 별다른 분류학적 진전은 없었다. 1990년도에 들어서야 국내에 반날개를 전문으로 하는 연구자들이 양성되어 이때부터 체계적인 전문가의 양성과 종발굴이 이루어졌다. 하지만 여전히 반날개과는 국립생물자원관에서 지정한 제1순위 미개척분류군이며, 그 잠재적 다양성을 고려한다면 더 많은 연구자의 양성이 필요한 실정이다. 그 중 개미사돈아과, 이끼벌레아과 등 여전히 연구성과나 인력양성이 매우 미흡한 분류군들이 존재한다. 이번 발표로 이러한 한국산 반날개의 분류사와 현재 연구상황 및 앞으로 방향에 대해 논해보고자 한다.

        A taxonomic review of the Acrotona Thomson in Korea is presented. The genus is represented in Korea by 10 speciesincluding two new species, A. koreana Lee & Ahn, sp. nov. and A. rufescens Lee & Ahn, sp. nov. Two other species,A. paeksongrica Paśnik and A. suyangsani Paśnik, are synonymized under A. pseudotenera (Cameron) and A. lutulenta(Sharp), respectively, and four species, A. grata (Cameron), A. lutulenta (Sharp), A. pseudotenera (Cameron) and A. vicaria(Kraatz), are identified for the first time in South Korea. A key to the Korean species and illustrations of habitus anddiagnostic characters are provided for the new species.

        Eupelmidae Walker, 1833, belongs to the superfamily Chalcidoidea, with more than 1,000 described species within48 genera worldwide. They are distinguished from other families as following characters: females and some males withlarge and undivided mesopleuron; gaster subsessile; male antenna with seven funiculars and only single anellus.Most species of this family are idiobiont ectoparasitoids or predators of the immature stage of Coleoptera, Homoptera,Lepidoptera, Neuroptera, Orthoptera and even other Hymenoptera, or some species are endoparasitoids of eggs of Araneae,Dictyoptera, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Orthoptera and Phasmida.In this study, history, descriptions, photos of habitus and a key to genera and species of South Korean Eupelmidaeare provided.

        The aim of this study is to review the genus Phyllonorycter in Korea. In this study, totally 19species of the genus were recognized from Korea. Among them, four species, Phyllonorycter cretata(Kumata), P. japonica (Kumata), P. rostrispinosa (Kumata) and P. stephanandrae (Kumata) are reportedfor the first from Korea. All the known species were briefly redescribed with illustrations of theadult and genitalic structures. Also, key to the species was provided.

        Amanita Pers. is a well-known monophyletic mushroom genus with a broad distribution. The genus comprises about 500 named taxa and contains deadly poisonous species, e.g. A. virosa and A. phalloides. Nonetheless, the diversity of Korean Amanita species has been underestimated. At present ca. 50 species of genus Amanita have been reported and distributed in Korea. It caused mainly three problems: 1) identification is not clarify because of the morphological investigation only; 2) poor morphological descriptions of the species; 3) absence of evidence specimens in many case of the recorded Korean Amanita species. For these reasons, the goals of the present study were to establish the accurate classification systems and to understand the diversity of Korean Amanita species. Macro-morphological characters were determined based on structures of basidiomata (universal veil on the pileus, partial veil, volva etc.), field notes and color photos of basidiocarps. Micro-morphological characters (basidiospores, basidia, composition of volval remnants on pileus and stipe base etc.) were obtained from the dried specimens after sectioning and rehydration using optical microscope. For the molecular identification, four gene regions(nrITS, nrLSU, rpb2 and tef1) were sequenced from Korean Amanita species. Among the sequenced specimens, I selected 80 specimens (which were successfully sequenced as ITS, nLSU, rpb2 and tef1) to generate the outline of Amanita phylogeny including 2 subgenera and 7 sections for determination of exact phylogenetic positions and comparison between related species. As a result of 11 data sets of each subgenus and complexes, 68 species were represented including new to Korea and candidates of new to sciences. The protein coding genes were helpful to determine the grouping within a related species and/or complex groups rather than rDNA sequences regions.

        좀개구리밥속(Lemna L.)이 속하는 개구리밥과(Lemnaceae Martinov)는 다년생 초본으로, 5속 약 40종이 극 지방을 제외한 전세계에 널리 분포한다. 좀개구리밥속 식물은 피자식물 중 크기가 가장 작고 형태가 단순한 부유성의 단자엽 수생식물로 영양번식이 매우 빨라 약 3일마다 배로 증가하는 특성을 보여 수환경 오염 피해 평가나 독성 시험에 이용되는 등 유용성이 큰 식물로 평가되고 있다. 우리나라의 좀개구리밥속 종 분포에 대해서는 학자별로 다른 학명을 쓰기도 하였으나 1종이 존재하는 것으로 여러 학자들이 보고해 왔다. 본 연구에서는 한국산 좀개구리밥속 식물에서 관찰된 외부 형태적 변이에 주목하여, 2종 이상일 가능성을 염두에 두고 그 실체를 규명하고자 분자계통학적 방법으로 연구를 수행하였다. 전국적으로 분포하는 좀개구리밥속 식물 37개체군의 엽록체 DNA atpF-H 구간 염기서열을 결정한 결과, 염기서열 길이는 463-483bp인 것으로 확인되었고 37개체군의 염기서열을 정렬한 길이는 488bp였으며, 47개 뉴클레오티드지점에서 변이가 나타났다. 한국산 좀개구리밥속 식물 37개체군의 엽록체 DNA atpF-H 구간 염기서열은 크게 두 개의 유형으로 나누어졌으며, 계통분석 결과에서도 최대절약계통수에서 두 개의 clade로 나누어졌고, 그 중 한 clade는 두 개의 subclade로 다시 나누어졌다. 이는 현재까지 우리나라에 1종만 분포한다고 알려진 것과는 다른 결과로 최소 2개 이상 분류군(L.aequinoctialis, L.minor)이 국내에 분포한다는 것을 의미한다.

        담배가루이는 경제적으로 매우 중요한 농업 해충들 중의 하나이며, 전세계적으로 40개 이상의 종들로 구성된 종복합군(species complex) 으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 담배가루이 종복합군의 유전적 변이와 구성하는 종들의 수를 550개의 COI 염기서열들을 바탕으로 재평가하였 다. 담배가루이의 유전적 변이는 0% - 27.8%이며(평균 11.1%), 이는 담배가루이 종복합군이 서로 다른 속들 혹은 아과들에 속하는 다양한 종들 로 구성되어 있음을 나타낸다. 217개 COI 염기서열들을 바탕으로 분석된 계통수는 담배가루이 종복합군이 잠재적인 신종(Java)을 포함한 43개 종들로 구성되어 있고, 이 가운데 9종(Australia, Asia II 1, Asia II 6, Asia II 7, Asia II 10, Mediterranean, New world, New world 2, Sub Saharan Africa 1)의 종내 유전적 변이는 기존의 종구분 한계인 4.0%가 담배가루이 종복합군의 종들을 구분하는데 적합하며, 높은 종내 유전변이를 보이 는 종들은 은밀종과 관련이 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        The cranefly genus Tipula Linnaeus, 1758 (Diptera: Tipulidae) contains up to 2,790 species in 40 subgenera distributed in all biogeographic regions. The richest fauna is known in the Palaearctic region with 1,224 speices. The Korean Tipula was recorded for the first time by Alexander in the early 20th century. According to the ‘Checklist of Korean aquatic insects (2014)’ 30 species in 12 subgenera are recorded in Korea. Baek and Bae (2016) additionally reported 5 species new to Korea. We reviewed all known species of the genus Tipula in the Korean Peninsula. We also provided a key to the subgenera and species.         The genus Glyphodes Guenée, 1854 reported over 150 species in the world. They are widely distributed throughout tropical regions, with some species penetrating into subtropical and warm temperate areas. Five species of the genus Glyphodes Guenée are reported for the first time in Laos: Glyphodes actorionalis Walker, G. bivitralis Guenée, G. caesalis Walker, G. extorris Dognin, and G. stolalis Guenée. Photographs of adult, male and female genitalia, with short description
