1992년부터 1993년까지 약 2개년 동안 일본국 쿄토지역 병원에서 요로감염 소아의 오줌으로부터 분리한 병원대장균 총 14균주에 대하여 혈청학적 검사와 박테리오파지 검사를 실시한 결과, 혈청형은 주로 O1:H7, O2:H6, O2:H7, O16:H6, O18:H7, O18:H^-, O135:H44 등이었으며 K1 다당류항원의 양성반응은 14균주중 1균주(O18:H^-, 7.1%)이었다.

The present study was carried out to know the distribution of freshwater mollusk on the Chinese liver fluke in the middle of August, 1997 at the upper area of Kyungan stream located in Yongin Kun, Kyungki province. The snails were collected from the shallow and irrigation route in a rural area located along the upper area of Kyungan stream. The snails collected by hand were brought to the laboratory and cercariae naturally shed from the snails, Parafossarulus manchouricus were examined. Parafossarulus manchouricus is medically important intermediate host of the transmission of digenetic trematoda to human. Each snail was placed in aerated tap water for the detection of cercariae and examined for expelled cercariae. Infection rate of the cercariae of Clonorchis sinensis was 3 (1.5%) among 195 individuals collected in the habitat. The identification of the cercaria of Clonorchis sinensis was performed as described by Komiya and Tajimi.

산림청으로부터 분양받은 백강균의 균주 F101, F587, FJ8의 포자형성력과 균사와 포자의 esterase 활성도를 비교한 결과 F101이 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 균의 포자를 도말한 후 조건에서 보관하면 5~7일부터 충이 치사하여 24~28일 후에는 충의 표면에 균사와 포자가 분출한다. 그러나 보관조건에서는 뚜렷한 병적 증상이 나타나지 않았고 50일 이상이 경과하여도 충밖으로 균사나 포자가 분출되는 것을 관찰할 수 없다. 백강균의 포자를 충체에 주입하였을 경우에는 충의 치사시기가 빨라지며 4보다 에 보관하면서 지방체, 표피, 혈림프로 구분하여 전기영동법으로 조사한 결과 각 조직의 일반단백질과 esterase는 충 치사시기인 3일(60시간)을 기점으로 상당수가 사라지는 현상을 보인다. 백강균은 기주에 재차감염을 일으킬 수 있는 확율을 최대한으로 하기 위하여 공기중에 있을 때는 포자를, 토중에서는 길고 가는 균사를 형성하는 생리적인 적응을 한다.

곤충병원성 사상균을 이용한 솔잎혹파리의 효과적인 방제법을 개발하기 위하여, 병원성이 강한 균주를 전국 산림토양으로 부터 분리.동정하고, 병원성 검정을 통하여 유효 곤충병원 사상균을 선발코자 하였다. 솔잎혹파리 다발 지역을 중심으로 전국으로 부터 233개 지역의 토양시료를 채취하여, Beauverla속 29균주, Paecilomyces속 2균주를 분리하였다. 분리된 균주는 위상차현미경 및 주사전자현미경으로 형태를 관찰하였다. 아울러 토양 분리 균주를 솔잎혹파리 유충에 대해 병원성을 검정한 결과, Beauveria 속 SFB-168-2가 82.9%로 높은 병원성을 나타내어, 솔잎혹파리 방제를 위한 유효병원 사상균으로 선발하였다.
