This study examined the structural characteristics of the royal tomb equipped with only rail stones in the early Joseon Dynasty. Bongneung(封陵: the burial mound of royal tomb) equipped with only rail stones was constructed from 1468 to 1632. During this period, Hyeongung(玄宮: the underground chamber for the coffin of the king or queen) was constructed with lime. When the Hyeongung is completed, the soil is covered with a thickness of 1 foot parallel to the ground surface. On top of that, as the base of the Bongneung, the rail ground stone is constructed with a height of about 1.5 to 2 feet. The inside of the rail ground stone is also firmly filled with soil. On top of this, semicircular lime is installed with a convex center. Lastly the soil is divided and compacted several times to form a hill, and then covered with grass to complete the Bongneung. The notable feature is that between the Hyeongung made of lime and the Bongneung made of soil, the rail ground stone serves as a stylobate with the inside compacted by the soil.
There are stone sculptures diversely shaped in several parts of Gyeongbokgung. Geunjeongjeon is a place where the stone sculptures are intensively placed among the various palace buildings of Gyeongbokgung, and it is more important because it contains the phases of the age of the dynasty and the symbolism of governing philosophy. What can be seen in the structure of auspicious animal sculptures is based on the form of instinctive thought that the heavenly and human order systems are in an organic correspondence with each other, especially with regard to astronomical events such as Samwon‐Sasin‐12jisin‐28su. The parts that have been interpreted only in Sasin and 12jisin in the interpretations such as wild dogs, Gyoryong, camels, wolves, and apes were able to clarify the contents by revealing the form of 28su. In particular, as Beopsu‐Ssangbeopsu at the corner may be related to the guardian deity who governs water, called Yimun, Chimi, and Chimun, it is one of Bibo's ways to protect the palace that was vulnerable to fire. In addition, the shape of the existing 28su placed Dambi, but Ha‐Woldae at the Geunjeongjeon was assumed to have a camel statue and a planned arrangement of double meaning with the Bibo form of Pungsu Sasinsa, and it is also a feature of the arrangement of Woldae at the Geunjeongjeon. The actual composition of auspicious animals at the Nambogye of Geunjeongjeon was in the order of Haechi, wild dogs, horses and Jujak, and the contents of “Gyeongbokgung Construction Daily Record” were in the order of Haechi, horses, wild dogs, and Jujak. As to different composition layouts, based on the contents of the “Gyeongbok palace Construction Daily Record”, the composition of Samjae Cheonjiin (天地人) was interpreted differently from the conventional interpretation of the arrangement of Woldae. All of these forms are associated with defense systems in the four directions and have become animal representations of each direction. The auspicious animal statues placed on the railing of Geunjeongjeon Woldae can be seen as reflected in a single building with the three‐dimensional personality that includes Pungsu's Bibo personality with the symbolic meaning that reveals the centrality as Jeong‐Jeon, the nation's best politics let alone the ideological system of the ancient astronomical of the East called Men‐Heaven Unity.
The purpose of this study is to identify the form and components, decoration and locality of pyongnangans(平 欄干) in Yangban's Houses(32 Houses) in Gyeongbuk region, The results of this study, which were carried out through both survey and on-site study, are as below. First, Pyongnangans of Gyeongbuk region Yangban's Houses can be classified into 4 different types, which are ①Mureum type, ②Gyoran(交欄) type, ③ Mureum-Saldae combination type, ④Simplified Saldae type. And these 4 types are again subdivided into eight types, depending on differences of both detailed form and framework. Gyoran type are the most common cases in Yangban's Houses of Gyeongbuk region, whose number is followed by the order of Mureum type, Mureum-Saldae combination type and Simplified Saldae type Pyongnangans. Decorative 亞shaped Gyoran type are more set up in Sarangchaes than in Anchaes, and this was because Decorative Gyorans are more appropriate to show the Social status and class of a patriarch than humble Mureum type. Pyongnangans of Yangban's Houses in Gyeongbuk region have their peculiarities in the exclusion of decorativeity, by consistent use of plain single-layer Pyongnangans. A certain locality is reflected on the types and detailed forms of Pyonnangans. Mureum type are widely found in Gyeoungju region Yangban's Houses, while Gyoran type were more often used in Andong region. In Bonghwa region, Mureum-Saldae combination type are found in large quantities. This was due to the locational chateristics of Sarangchaes in Bonghwa region, which were usually built on steep slopes.
Gondola is widely used as a construction facility to perform external finishing work without using scaffolding at a construction site. However, since 2000, there have been 17 deaths from now so these risks associated with work can not be ignored. Therefore, it is expected that it will contribute greatly to prevent related disasters if introducing necessary measures to prevent repeated related disasters and installing additional safety devices. In order to eliminate the risk factor according to the operation of the gondola, it is necessary for the operator to use it to use it while the examination of each product is completed, and to use the over load Dangerous arbitrary measures such as arbitrary operation of the prevention device, removal of the safety fence for convenience of work, installation of the wire rope installed in the air, falling out of the wire rope and falling to the ground Do not perform such sealing measures so that any operation of the overload prevention device can not be done so as not to take such arbitrary measures, or wire the power supply wire to the safety fence so as not to delete the safety fence. Then, when the safety fence is removed, so that it does not become a gondola operation, or when replacing the wire rope in the air, to prevent the wire rope from coming off, Additional measures such as installing falling down prevention device may be necessary.
In order to create a safe and pleasant hydrophilic coast, the coastal maintenance projects are under way in the concept of the marine park. However, a lot of accidents are happened because of the unpredictable climate change and the accidents are increased due to the lack of safety in the Coastal Zone. The number of the accidents that the overtopping waves on the breakwater have swept the peoples on the breakwater into the sea result in the many deads, have grown in the recent. And the damage of facilities caused by overtopping wave have increased in addition to the casualties. In this study, the experiments of overtopping wave force acting on the handrail on the breakwater have conducted to consider the safety design for the handrail. Through the several types of the experiments, the dangerous wave patterns are identified, Also, the appropriate design guidelines and material for handrail to prevent the pullout of the anchor bolt are proposed.
Hwangrong Temple was the center of the Buddhist culture of Silla dynasty. It was built in the 14th year of King Jinheung in Silla dynasty, and completely burnt out when the Mongol Army invaded the Korean peninsula during the reign of King Gojong of Koryeo dynasty. 8-year excavation of the site from 1976 as part of the Gyeongju Tourism Comprehensive Plan revealed many things about the Hwangrongsaji. Recently, a book introduced 'Geumdongnanganpyeon' among relics found in the site, but omitted in the Excavation Report published at that time. Though 'Palgak Geumdongnanganpyeon' has numerical signs 六, 七(six, seven), there was no clear explanation of the signs. Thus, this paper examines it. We can guess, through the remaining iron fragment, that the side of Geumdongnanganpyeon is octagonal, and the width of the side S13 fragment belongs to is about 400mm. The overall form of the face is similar to the Geumdong Palgaktop stored in the Museum of Dongguk University, but, in detail, it is similar to the Zhuanlunzang Pavilion of Longxing Temple and the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple in China. And, numerical signs can be understand to designate the numbers of story and face. The reason why the number might indicate the number of story is that fragments which are presumed to be used for the same purpose contain different measurement values, and the basis of the concept of face can be found in efficiency of manufacturing and manufacturing techniques of artifacts of the time. The two aspects mentioned above cannot be confirmed because of not sufficient relics and related researches. But, the overall form may have been multi-story tower of at least two stories. If more studies in various fields are done in the future, it is expected that the original form will be recovered more accurately.
