        기체투과막 기술을 이용하여 가축분뇨 폐기물 등으로부터 암모니아성 질소를 효과적으로 회수할 수 있다. 이는 폐기물 내 암모니아 기체가 폐기물에 함침된 기체투과막의 미세공극을 투과하여 막반대편에 도달하게 된다. 투과된 암모니아 기체분자는 막 반대편에 존재하는 용액 내 황산 등 산에 의해 포획 및 회수된다. 막 유입부 내 암모니아성 질소 제거 효과를 높이기 위해서는 우선 유입 폐기물 내 pH를 높게 유지해야 하는데 pH 상승에 필요한 염기성 약품 투입비용이 문제가 될 수 있다. 기존 연구에서는 보다 저렴한 소석회 투입하거나 폭기 혹은 질산화억제를 통해 높은 pH를 효과적으로 유지시키는 방 안이 거론되고 있다. 한편 암모니아성 질소 회수에 쓰이는 기체투과막의 재질은 적절한 내열성이나 내화학성 이외에도 소수 성을 띈다는 특징이 있으며 이를 통해 막기공을 통해 암모니아 기체를 선택적으로 투과시킬 수 있다. 향후 연구에서는 다양 한 성상을 가진 현장 폐기물을 이용하여 실증 Test를 수행하고 이를 기반으로 최적 설계/운전 조건 규명 및 경제성 제고 방안 을 수립하여야 한다.

        This study provides a comparison and analysis of the predicted damages related to hazardous chemical substances used in “A” solar cell manufacturing process. In order to predict potential damages, different accident scenarios were established using the ALOHA model and the KOSHA guideline. This study evaluates chemical spills and leaks from cylinder and pipeline. Maximum distance of chemical movement, based on an initial concentration of 150 ppm, was estimated as up to 258 m in summer and 251 m in winter. The impacts of the leakage of chemicals such as ammonia, were dependent on the initial concentration of the chemical leaked, the atmospheric stability and temperature, and the wind speed. All of those however, were affected by air humidity.

        Polypyrrole (PPy)/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) composites were prepared by in situ polymerization of pyrrole on the surface of MWCNTs templates to improve the ammonia gas sensing properties. PPy morphologies, formed on the surface of MWCNTs, were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy. The thermal stabilities of the PPy/MWCNTs composites were improved as the content of MWCNTs increased due to the higher thermal stability of the MWCNTs. PPy/MWCNTs composites showed synergistic effects in improving the ammonia gas sensing properties, attributed to the combination of efficient electron transfer between PPy/MWCNTs composites and ammonia gas, and the reproducible electrical resistance variation on PPy during the gas sensing process.

        The deodorization performances of ammonia, acetic acid and acetaldehyde were tested for each of all forty five air cleaners sold in the online shops and department stores. The removal performances of toluene and formaldehyde were also investigated and the results were compared to the deodorization performances for the air cleaners. Filter-type and complex type air cleaners which used activated carbon filters showed superior in odor removal performances to those of ionizer type and wet type air cleaners. Toluene and formaldehyde were readily removed for the most of filter-type and complex type air cleaners. Ionizer air cleaners had little removal ability for the toluene and formaldehyde.

        Increasing public concerns over odors and air regulations in nonattainment zones necessitate the remediation of a wide range of odorous compounds used for industrial purpose. Currently, spraying technique using neutralizing essential oils is utilized to treat ammonia odors. The chemical analysis was performed to analyze the composition of an essential oil by GC-MS. The monoterpenes in an essential oil react with ammonia by neutralization and their reaction mechanism was elucidated. However, little information is available on the neutralization reaction with rendering air pollutants in detail. The objective of this study was to clarify the possibility of the neutralization of odors sprayed in indoor and determine the removal efficiencies in the misty aerosol by different input odor concentration. It was found that an ammonia was significantly removed by the spraying technique, and the removal efficiency of ammonia was 98 %. The removal efficiencies of ammonia were also studied by the optimal conditions such as temperature and pH.
