The effects of different plasma agent species ( CF4, N2) over the conductivity of CFX cathode material were identified. Both plasma treatments have surface etching effect, while the CF4 plasma treatment has C–F bond modification effect and the N2 plasma treatment has defluorination effect. The changes of surface chemical species and porosity along the plasma agent were elucidated. Moreover, the electrochemical properties of plasma-treated CFX confirmed the effects of plasma treatments. The charge-transfer resistance of plasma-treated CFX was maximum 60.3% reduced than the pristine CFX. The effects of surface chemical modification coupled with etching along the plasma gas agents were compared and identified with their reaction mechanisms.
Coupled thermo-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) processes are essential for the long-term performance of deep geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste. In this study, a numerical sensitivity analysis was performed to analyze the effect of rock properties on THM responses after the execution of the heater test at the Kamaishi mine in Japan. The TOUGHFLAC simulator was applied for the numerical simulation assuming a continuum model for coupled THM analysis. The rock properties included in the sensitivity study were the Young’s modulus, permeability, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficients of crystalline rock, rock salt, and clay. The responses, i.e., temperature, water content, displacement, and stress, were measured at monitoring points in the buffer and near-field rock mass during the simulations. The thermal conductivity had an overarching impact on THM responses. The influence of Young’s modulus was evident in the mechanical behavior, whereas that of permeability was noticed through the change in the temperature and water content. The difference in the THM responses of the three rock type models implies the importance of the appropriate characterization of rock mass properties with regard to the performance assessment of the deep geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste.
담체가 투여된 침지형 막결합 연속회분식 반응기(SMSBR)를 사용한 하수의 고도처리에서 담체가 여과성능과 제 거효율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 담체는 반응기 부피 기준으로 10% 투여하였고, 담체와 분말활성탄을 첨가하지 않은 반 응기, 분말활성탄(10 g/L)만을 첨가한 반응기 및 담체와 분말활성탄을 모두 첨가한 반응기를 대조군으로 하였다. COD, T-N 및 T-P에 대한 제거효율은 담체 및 분말활성탄 첨가 유무에 따라 큰 차이가 없었다. 그러나 담체를 첨가하지 않은 경우 막간 차압(TMP)은 급격히 증가하였으나, 담체를 첨가한 경우에 막간차압은 매우 서서히 증가하였다. 담체를 투여한 SMSBR를 사 용하여 하수를 고도처리 할 때, 91일 이상의 운전기간 동안 막 세정 없이 운전이 가능하였다. 담체만을 투여한 경우, 운전 80 일 경과 이후의 COD, T-N 및 T-P 평균 제거율은 각각 95.0, 69.3% 및 51.4%이었다.
스펀지 형태의 담체가 첨가된 침지형 막결합 연속회분식 생물반응기에서 담체가 제거효율과 여과성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 담체는 반응기 부피 기준으로 각각 5%, 10% 및 20% 첨가하였고, 담체를 첨가하지 않은 반응기를 대조군으로 하였다. COD, T-N 및 T-P에 대한 제거효율은 담체 첨가 유무에 관계없이 큰 차이가 없었다. 그러나 담체를 첨가한 경우, 첨가하지 않은 경우에 비해 조업시간에 따른 막간차압(TMP)은 매우 서서히 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 폭기에 의해 상승하는 담체가 막 표면과 충돌하게 되고, 이때 막 표면에 형성된 케이크 층을 제거시키기 때문이다. 결론적으로 담체가 첨가된 막결합형 연속회분식 생물반응기는 담체가 없는 반응기에 비해 여과성능이 크게 개선되어, 폐수처리에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
침지식 막결합형 연속회분식 생물반응기에서 폐수의 도입단계가 제거효율과 여과성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 호기성 단계의 초기에 공급할 경우(Mode-1)와 무산소 단계의 초기에 공급할 경우(Mode-2)에 대하여 89일 동안 동시에 운전하였다. COD 제거효율과 여과성능은 2가지 운전방식 간에 큰 차이가 없었다. 그러나 영양염류(총질소와 총인)의 제거효율에 있어서 Mode-2가 Mode-1에 비해 보다 효과적이었다. Mode-2의 경우 COD, 총질소 및 총인의 제거율은 각각 99.1, 73.3 및 77.7%이었다.
Silicon dioxide as gate dielectrics was grown at 400˚C on a polycrystalline Si substrate by inductively coupled plasma oxidation using a mixture of O2 and N2O to improve the performance of polycrystalline Si thin film transistors. In conventional high-temperature N2O annealing, nitrogen can be supplied to the Si/SiO2 interface because a NO molecule can diffuse through the oxide. However, it was found that nitrogen cannot be supplied to the Si/SiO2 interface by plasma oxidation as the N2O molecule is broken in the plasma and because a dense Si-N bond is formed at the SiO2 surface, preventing further diffusion of nitrogen into the oxide. Nitrogen was added to the Si/SiO2 interface by the plasma oxidation of mixtures of O2/N2O gas, leading to an enhancement of the field effect mobility of polycrystalline Si TFTs due to the reduction in the number of trap densities at the interface and at the Si grain boundaries due to nitrogen passivation.
Close-coupled atomizers are of great interest and controlling their performance parameters is critical for metal powder producing and spray forming industries. In this study, designed close-coupled nozzle systems were used to investigate the effect of the nozzle types and protrusion length of the melt delivery tube on the pressure formation at the melt delivery tube tip. The observed metal flow rate was not behaving as what was earlier assumed, namely that, deeper aspiration enhanced metal flow rate. Higher aspiration pressure at the tip of the melt delivery tube increases the stability of atomization process.
The effect of coupled data assimilation (DA) on the meteorological prediction in the west coastal region of Korea was evaluated using a coupled atmosphere-ocean model (e.g., COAWST) in the spring (March 1726) of 2019. We performed two sets of simulation experiments: (1) with the coupled DA (i.e., COAWST_DA) and (2) without the coupled DA (i.e., COAWST_BASE). Overall, compared with the COAWST_BASE simulation, the COAWST_DA simulation showed good agreement in the spatial and temporal variations of meteorological variables (sea surface temperature, air temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity) with those of the observations. In particular, the effect of the coupled DA on wind speed was greatly improved. This might be primarily due to the prediction improvement of the sea surface temperature resulting from the coupled DA in the study area. In addition, the improvement of meteorological prediction in COAWST_DA simulation was also confirmed by the comparative analysis between SST and other meteorological variables (sea surface wind speed and pressure variation).
Odometry using wheel encoders is one of the fundamental techniques for the pose estimation of wheeled mobile robots. However, odometry has a drawback that the position errors are accumulated when the travel distance increases. Therefore, position errors are required to be reduced using appropriate calibration schemes. The UMBmark method is the one of the widely used calibration schemes for two wheel differential drive robots. In UMBmark method, it is assumed that odometry error sources are independent. However, there is coupled effect of odometry error sources. In this paper, a new calibration scheme by considering the coupled effect of error sources is proposed. We also propose the test track design for the proposed calibration scheme. The numerical simulation and experimental results show that the odometry accuracy can be improved by the proposed calibration scheme.
컨테이너 크레인의 설계 시 적용되는 하중 조건 중에서 풍하중이 가장 중요하게 고려되어지는바, 본 연구는 75m/s의 풍하중이 컨테이너 크레인에 작용 할 때 컨테이너 크레인의 구조적 안정성에 미치는 영향을 보다 정확하게 예측하기 위하여 유동-구조 연성해석을 실시하였다. 컨테이너 크레인에 작용하는 실제 유동현상을 고려하기 위하여 먼저 전산유동해석을 실시하였으며, 이를 통해서 얻어진 풍하중을 구조해석의 하중조건으로 적용하는 유동-구조 연성해석을 통하여 컨테이너 크레인 각 지지점에서의 반력을 도출하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 사용된 모델은 주변 환경으로 인하여 컨테이너 크레인의 최대 고도가 제한 될 경우 사용되는 관절형 컨테이너 크레인이며 전산유동해석 및 유동-구조 연성해석 프로그램으로는 ANSYS ICEM CFD 10.0과 ANSYS CFX 10.0을 사용하였다.
