I would like to suggest a solution to the problem of aircraft battalion helicopter noise complaints. Among the noise evaluation units, the unit that meets the military helicopter noise evaluation is analyzed and selected to scientifically and reasonably resolve the conflict between residents in the neighboring area and the aviation battalion. Helicopter noise is one of the important problems causing pollution in various pollution problems in the area around the aircraft battalion. The rational and planned process of aircraft battalions will be a way to address aircraft noise pollution.
As global climate change impacts become more apparent, countries are implementing various policies to achieve carbon neutrality that can be categorized into direct regulations and market-based indirect regulations. The latter, utilizing economic incentives, is considered more efficient in transforming corporate behavior and promoting voluntary efforts for carbon reduction. In alignment with international trends, South Korea has introduced the Emission Trading System (ETS) in 2015. Despite this, the domestic carbon market remains underdeveloped, with low ETS participation, particularly in the aquaculture sector. In order to activate external projects under the ETS, this study proposes short-term strategies including linking ETS with popular eco-friendly energy distribution projects, developing standardized monitoring techniques, and integrating carbon reduction initiatives with other support mechanisms such as direct payment programs. Long-term strategies focus on developing new methodologies for external projects, promoting the use of renewable energy, and enhancing technologies to reduce energy consumption in aquaculture operations. By implementing these strategies, the study aims to enhance the participation of the aquaculture sector in carbon reduction efforts, contributing to the overall goal of carbon neutrality.
Currently, many complaints have been filed by local residents on helicopter noise while the law on noise prevention and damage compensation at military airfields and military ranges has been in effect since November 27, 2020. The airfields operated by state agencies are inevitably used to defend the country, defend the country, and protect the lives of the people, but various efforts are needed to minimize noise complaints. In general, helicopters operating in a specific area exhibit different noise frequencies depending on the number or size of wings for each type, takeoff speed, and takeoff altitude. Therefore, by measuring and analyzing noise in the take-off stage of a number of helicopters operating in a specific area, this study aims to present more effective noise prevention measures by analyzing the compliance of each type of helicopter with variables such as take-off speed, take-off altitude, and rise rate. Therefore, the results of this study will be significant in terms of resolving complaints and reducing compensation expenditures of local residents around the airport.
(ISWG-GHG: Intersessional Working Group on the Reduction of GHG Emissions)에 다양한 감축 조치를 제안하고 있다.
Urban sanitary sewer systems can aid in preventing inundation, and can improve civil health by effectively disposing stormwater and wastewater. However, since sewage odor can cause adverse effects, numerous technical and administrative studies have been conducted for reducing such odor. European countries and the United States of America (USA) built modern sewer systems in the late 19th century, and have since been endeavoring to eliminate sewage odors. Several cities of the USA, such as Los Angeles (LA) that has a separate sewer system and San Francisco (SF) that has a combined sewer system, have produced and distributed odor control master plan manuals. Features common in the odor reduction plans of both these cities are that the odor reduction programs are operated in all the respective local regions and are supported by administrative systems. The primary aspectual difference between the two said programs is that the city of LA employs a sewage air purification system, whereas the city of SF controls the emission of major odor causing compounds. Compared to the existing sewer odor reduction systems of these two cities, South Korea is still in the initial phase of development. Through technical studies and policy implementations for sewer odor reduction, a foundation can be laid for improving the civil health quality.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to help ensure the safety and enhance industrial competitiveness of plant construction projects by analyzing the safety management status of, mainly, chemical engineering plant construction projects, and proposing specific measures and models to reduce human/educational, technical/systemic, institutional disasters. This study was done using literature research and case study/empirical study methods. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, we classified the major disasters from the quarterly released ‘major diaster cases in construction business’from Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency according to the type of construction and presented the causes and prevention measures.
This study was conducted to suggest the cause analysis and mitigation measures of foaming generated in the effluent of wastewater treatment plant. The foam generated in the outlet connected with the tidal river system was identified as structural problems. And the main cause of foaming was air entrainment by an impinging jet and the internal accumulation by the diffusion barrier. In consideration of these conditions, it present the effective ways such as micro-screen and submerged outlet, to mitigate the foaming generated in the water channel and outlet end.
During five years (Year 2009~2013), Total victims of 72 %( 81,560 people) and those 50.6 %( 1,258 people) of death accident occurs in small scale construction site which operate 2 million USD less construction budget. Especially, falling death accident account for 785 people, in the share of 33.2 %( 261 people) death disaster takes due to defect of original cause materials. The major safety issues in small scale work place take place while scaffold installation, disassembling, work-plate improper installation or non-professional skills of workers. Furthermore, labor subcontract systems make small construction site shortage of resources. Those workers regard work-plate as unnecessary and consumables supplies. Because of that most of workers use unsafe workplace in most construction site. Therefore, in order to prevent falling accident occurring in small scale work site, government should organize related regulations such as “Work site safety construction method” and then expands education support, financial aid, and sourcing safety supplies for work plate which offer broad variety experiences. Also, introduce certificate solutions for various work plates to improve safety function such as anchoring type method and anti sliding function.
This study analyzed the characteristics of high PM2.5 episodes that meets the concentration criteria of Emergency Reduction Measures Plan (ERMP) in Busan during the 2015-2020, and compared with those in Seoul. As a first step, the CAPSS-2017 emission data was employed to analyze the emission differences between Busan and Seoul, and pointed out that Busan emission included the dominance of ship emissions (37.7%) among total PM2.5 city emissions, whereas fugitive PM2,5 emission was the highest in Seoul. These emission characteristics are indicating that the controlling action plan should be uniquely applied to cope with ERMP in each region. We selected extremely high PM2.5 episode days that meet the criteria of ERMP levels. In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam region, 15, 16, and 8 days of extremely high PM2.5 cases were found, respectively, whereas Seoul showed approximately doubling of occurrences with 37 cases. However, the occurrences in summer season indicated big differences between two cities: the proportion of summer-season occurrence was 13-25% in Busan, whereas no single case have occurred in Seoul. This is suggesting the needs of comprehensive summer emission reduction plan with focusing on sulfur reduction to effectively cope with the ERMP levels in summer in the southeastern region, including Busan.
The goal of the study is to investigate vibration reduction effects in the ground due to the train-induced vibration using wave barriers. Rubber-based material has been selected for wave barriers and various barrier depths have been considered during numerical analysis. Result shows that the reduction effects are increased with proportional to the barrier depth, as one expected. Finally, results can be applied to design wave barriers for reducing transferred train-induced vibration to near structures.
