For facilitated olefin/paraffin separation, poly(ethylene-alt-maleic anhydride)-g-O-(2-aminopropyl)-O′-(2-methoxyethyl) polypropylene glycol (PEMA-g-PPG) is reported by facile, cheap and moderate-condition synthesis. PEMA-g-PPG provided effective polymer matrix for partially polarized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). AgNPs could facilitate olefin transport through π-complexation, while TCNQ activated surface of AgNPs for partial polarization as a strong electron acceptor. The FT-IR and TEM image supported improved interactions between PEMA-g-PPG and AgNPs. The best separation performance was obtained with 1:3 wt ratio of PEMA-g-PPG:AgNPs, showing 7.8 GPU for mixed gas permeance and 17.5 selectivity for propylene/propane.

무분별한 이산화탄소 배출로 인한 지구온난화는 이상기후와 생태계 파괴 등을 초래함으로써 인간의 삶에 심각한 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 문제의 근본 원인인 이산화탄소 배출을 저감하는 방법으로 본 연구에서는 자가-가교 성질이 있는 P(GMA-g-PPG)-co-POEM) (SP) 공중합체와 상용 고분자인 polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)를 혼합하여 블렌드 고분자 분리막을 제조하는 방법을 제시하였다. PVP 함량에 따른 분리막의 이산화탄소/질소 투과 특성을 확인하였으며, PVP의 함량이 증가 할수록 투과도는 감소하고 선택도는 증가하는 결과를 보였다. 특히 PVP 함량이 30 wt%인 경우, 투과도는 순수 SP 고분자의 CO2 투과도인 72.9 GPU에서 12.6 GPU로 감소하였으나, CO2/N2 선택도는 28.1에서 50.4로 약 79% 증가하였다. 이는 SP 공중합체와 PVP 사이의 수소결합으로 인해 고분자 사슬이 더욱 조밀하게 배열되기 때문인 것으로 볼 수 있으며, 이를 FT-IR, TGA, XRD, SEM을 통해 분석하였다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 SP/PVP 고분자 블렌드 내 PVP의 함량을 조절함으로써 분리막의 투과도 및 선택도를 손쉽게 조절할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) belong to cell membrane protein family, which regulate various physiological process such as reproduction, behavior and immune etc. In other to identify the GPCRs in pheromone gland of Maruca vitrata, we carried out transcriptome analysis from both females. Transcriptome analysis in the pheromone gland yielded approximately 22Gb and 47,528 transcripts showed positive FPKM value. 48 Genes involved in GPCRs were identified such as pheromone biosynthesis activating neuropeptide receptor (PBANr), prostaglandin receptors, neuropeptide receptor, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor, galanin receptor, calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor, diuretic hormone receptor, gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor, frizzled and orphan receptors, etc. Various expression of GPCRs in the pheromone gland indicates the role of pheromone gland may not be limited to the production of pheromone.

Eggs from the mosquito genus Aedes exhibit high desiccation resistance that likely facilitate spreading some of them as a vector of human disease throughout the world. However, molecular mechanism underlying the embryonic resistant to desiccation has not well understood. In this study, we performed functional study of two ovary-specific yellow genes, AalY-g and AalY-g2, in the Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus. The eggs obtained from AalY-g or AalY-g2 RNAi females showed poor desiccation resistance. TEM analysis revealed that, unlike that seen in the dsEGFP-control eggs, no high electron-dense outer-endochorion was evident in the eggs from AalY-g- or AalY-g2-deficient females. These results suggest that both yellow genes at least play roles in the chorion formation, which appears to be critical for integrity and desiccation resistance in Ae. albopictus eggs.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of shoulder stabilization exercises and stretching on shoulder height and muscle activity in young adults with rounded shoulder posture. The subjects were young adults with rounded shoulder posture, and divided into two groups: shoulder stabilization exercises and stretching exercises. The shoulder stabilization exercise group performed Thera band exercises and stretching exercises. The stretching exercise group performed stretching exercises. The groups performed the exercises for 40min, three times a week for four weeks. Shoulder height was measure by Vanier calipers and muscle activity was measured by electromyography. Shoulder height was significantly decreased in both groups after intervention, however there was no difference between groups. There was a significant difference in muscle activity between the two groups after the intervention, however there was no difference between the groups. This study suggests that shoulder stabilization exercise and stretching affect shoulder height and muscle activity.

We present a facile, room temperature synthesis of poly(ethylenealt- maleic anhydride)-graft-poly(propylene glycol) (PEMA-g-PPG) graft copolymer-based CO2/N2 gas separation membrane with 100% conversion reaction without any further purification process. As confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, the PEMA-g-PPG was successfully synthesized with 100% conversion of PEMA and PPG monomers. It was confirmed that the PEMA-g-PPG was amorphous and rubbery state according to the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC0 results. Therefore, PEMA-g-PPG/polysufulfone composite membrane exhibited high performance of CO2 permeability (99.1 Barrer) and selectivity (82.6 for CO2/N2 and 26.8 for CO2/CH4), surpassing conventional PEBAX block copolymer membrane.

Abnormal HLA-G expression occurs in various diseases such as melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, asthma, and classic Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The purpose of this study was to determine whether HLA-G gene is linked with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). To investigate the possible link with susceptibility to OSCC, 54 OSCC patients and 120 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. HLA-G 14bp insertion/deletion polymorphism is in 3'-untranslated region of HLA-G gene. HLA-G 14bp insertion/deletion polymorphism was analyzed using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. For the analysis of genetic data, SPSS18.0 program was used. Logistic regression models were performed for odds ratio (OR), 95 percent confidence interval (CI), and p value. There was a significant difference in distribution allele between OSCC patients and control subjects (OR=0.018, 95% CI=0.002- 0.131, p<0.001). Our results suggest that HLA-G 14bp insertion/deletion polymorphism may be linked with susceptibility to OSCC in the Korean population.

본 연구는 이미 진정효과가 뛰어나다고 알려져 있는 클래식과 함께 진정효과가 있다고 밝혀진 레게의 효과를 비교하고자 진행되었다. 연구에 사용된 실험견들은 실험을 잘 이해하고 있는 연구원들이 현재 키우는 반려견 4마리를 섭외하여 진행되었다. 섭외 된 반려견은 말티즈 2마리, 요크셔테리어 2마리이다. 진정효과를 알 수 있는 지표로는 Lori R. Kogan외의 ‘Behavioral effects of auditory stimulation on kenneled dogs’ 논문에서 사용한 지표를 일상에서도 확인하기 쉽도록 간소화하여 짖은 횟수, 서있는 시간, 서있지 않은 시간, 수면시간의 평균을 냈다. 그 결과 짖는 횟수 외의 큰 차이는 보이지 않았고, 진정효과만은 확실한 것을 확인하였다. 다만 일상생활에서 실행하는 것과 실험견의 일정한 결과를 위해 각 가정에서 실행하여 정확도는 떨어질 수 있다. 주변 소음 등이 적은 가정에서 실행한다면 조금 더 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

본 논문은 구레츠키(Henlyk Mikołaj Górecki, 1933-2010)라는 한 작곡가의 작품을 설명하는 데 있어서 ‘민족적-종교적 영향’, 독일을 중심으로 한 ‘새로운 단순성’(Neue Einfachheit) 또는 미국 에서 시작된 ‘미니멀음악’(minimal music)과 같이 상이한 개념이 혼용되어 사용되는 그 이유를 작 품 분석을 통해 확인한다. 구레츠키 창작경향의 변화에 근거하여 분석대상 작품의 시간적 범위와 장르 범위는 그의 1972 년 이후 아 카펠라(a cappella) 합창음악으로 한다. 60년대 말 관현악 작품 창작에서 드러나기 시 작한 ‘명료함’과 ‘단순함’으로 대변되는 그의 독자적인 창작세계의 어떤 내용들이 새로운 단순성 또 는 미니멀음악으로 규정될 수 있는지를 다음과 같은 연구 방법으로 접근한다. 아 카펠라 합창음악 분석에 들어가기 전에 그의 창작경향 변화를 간단하게 언급하여 본 연구의 분석대상 작품 선정의 타당성뿐 아니라, 1976년 작곡된 《교향곡 3번》에 교회음악 그리고 민속노래를 인용하면서 작곡가 가 확고히 한 그의 독자적인 음악어법을 확인한다. 작품 연구는 라틴어 텍스트로 작곡된 《그들은 떠났고 울었다》(Euntenes ibant et flebant op.32, 1972)와 폴란드 민속음악에서 가사와 선율에 기초하여 작곡된 《넓은 강》(Zeroka Woda op.39, 1979) 분석을 중심에 둔다. 이 두 작품 분석에서 공통으로 드러나는 음악적 특징들을 라틴 어를 텍스트로 한 《아멘》(Amen op.35, 1975), 《불쌍히 여기소서》(Miserere op.44, 1981), 《나는 당신의 소유》(Totus Tuus op.60, 1987), 그리고 폴란드 민속음악에 기초한 《나의 비스 와 강, 잿빛, 비스와 강》(My Vistula, grey Vistula op.46, 1981), 《세 개의 자장가》(Three Lullabies op.49, 1984, rev. 1991)에 적용하여 구레츠키 고유 음악어법을 확인한다. 결론을 대신하여 본 논문의 마지막 부분에서는 작품 분석을 바탕으로 구레츠키의 독자적인 음악 어법이 새로운 단순성 또는 미니멀음악 작곡기법 그리고 음악적 사고와 어떤 점이 유사하고 어떤 점이 상이한지를 정리한다. 나아가 미니멀음악 작곡가도 아니고 새로운 단순성을 대변하는 작곡가 도 아닌 구레츠키의 음악적 특성을 그가 활동한 공간적·시간적 환경과 연결하여 ‘새로운’ 민족주의 음악으로 볼 수 있음을 제시한다.

The CO2 separation membranes based on a graft copolymer consisting of hydrophobic poly(ethylene-alt-maleic anhydride) (PEMA) backbone and hydrophilic poly(propylene glycol) PPG side chains were fabricated by a facile one-pot process. The reaction between O-(2-aminopropyl)-O’-(2-methoxyethyl) polypropylene glycol (AMPPG) and PEMA was conducted in butanol at room-temperature. Without any post-treatment, the as-synthesized PEMA-g-PPG solution could be directly coated onto a microporous polysulfone support to fabricate thin-film composite membranes. The PEMA-g-PPG membrane exhibited high selectivity (82.6 for CO2/N2 and 26.8 for CO2/CH4) and good CO2 permeability (99.1 Barrer), which is a close value to the upper boundary limit (2008). The PEMA-g-PPG membrane could be commercially feasible owing to simple, inexpensive and scalable process.

Pb를 흡착처리하기 위해 자외선 유도 그라프트 중합을 사용하여 박테리아 셀룰로스에 아크릴산을 모디피케이션한 흡착제를 제조하였다. 제조된 흡착제는 SEM, FTIRATR등의 기기분석에 의해 평가되었고, 흡착실험 결과를 흡착속도의 거동을 고찰하기 위한 방법으로 pseudo-first-order로 언급되어지는 Benaissa 모델과 pseudo- second-order로 언급되어 지는 Kurniawan 모델에 적용하였다. 제조된 흡착제는 Benaissa 모델에 보다 더 일치함을 보여주었다.
