This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of the process-genre approach on EFL learners’ writing improvement. A total of 48 Chinese college freshmen students participated in this study, and they were divided into high-level (n=20) and low-level (n=28) groups. All the participants were instructed by the same teacher in the College English class for 14 weeks, during which they were taught how to compose in three writing genres: narration, exposition, and argumentation. After comparing the writing scores of pre- and post-tests from both groups, it can be concluded that the processgenre approach is helpful in enhancing the EFL learners’ writing competence because both groups of students had significantly improved their writing abilities. Besides, both group learners attained a salient achievement in expository writing after they were trained by the process-genre approach. Compared with the high-level learners, the low-level learners made larger progress in all three writing genres. It indicates that enough teaching time and teacher’s scaffolding systems are crucial for the learners’ writing development.

기체분리막으로 사용되는 주요 소재 중 하나인 폴리이미드는 강직한 유리상 고분자로써 우수한 열적⋅화학적 안정성을 가지며 기체에 대해 높은 선택도를 가지고 있다. 그러나 낮은 용해성으로 인해 가공이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 고분자 사슬 내에 지환족을 가진 다이안하이드라이드와 여러 가지 다이아민을 이용하여 공중합체를 합성하였다. 자체의 비틀린 구조로 인한 사슬의 자유회전과 유연성의 증가시켜 사슬의 packing현상을 유도하였으며, 이에 따른 물리적 특성과 기체투과도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다.
본 연구의 목적은 중학교 2학년 과학 '지구와 별' 단원의 학습에 3D 천문 프로그램(Starry Night pro 6.0)을 활용한 수업을 실시한 후 과학 학업성취도, 과학 관련 태도, 자기 주도적 학습능력에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 학습효과와 학생의 인식을 알아보는데 있다. 연구대상은 중학교 2학년 198명의 학생이며 6차시에 걸쳐 3D 천문 프로그램(Starry Night pro 6.0)을 활용한 수업을 실시한 후 적용하기 전과 후의 조사를 통하여 그 학습효과를 분석하였다. 검사결과는 독립표본 t-검정과 대응표본 t-검정을 이용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 3D 천문 프로그램을 활용한 수업이 전통적 수업 보다 학업성취도에서 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p〈.05). 그러나 3D 천문 프로그램을 활용한 수업이 과학 관련태도에 미치는 효과의 분석에서는 유의미한 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났으며(p〉.05), 자기주도적 학습능력의 향상에는 효과적이라는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다(p〈.05). 본 연구의 결과는 '3D planetarium software를 활용한 수업은 8학년 과학수업에서 효과적이었다는 것을 보여준다.'라고 끝마치고 있다.
In the policy management system of the safety&health(same as the environment and the quality), the documentation of the management system is required in various international standards & guides. In case of 3 level classification of the system documents, it generally will be identified such name as the manual, the procedure(or the process) and the job instruction. Each level of the document has the unique role and usage though, the job instructions, especially, would be developed to support the practical job worker. Considering such document level, the job instructions should be reflect the latest know-how of the job-handling methods. And that, it should be used at any times by the related job worker. This paper is prepared for surveying the actual usage status of the job instructions of the domestic enterprises holding ISO certificate and trying to suggest the better way of application of the system documents.
The objective of this study was to compare the differences on the activity and power of the wrist flexors and extensors in subjects before the use of a wrist extension splint, after nighttime wearing of the splint, and after daytime wearing of the splint. Ten healthy male and ten healthy female students (mean: 22.4±1.2 years old) volunteered to wear custom-made wrist splints either during the night or during the day, The hand force of the wrist flexor and extensor, and grip force were measured by PowerTrack II and Dynatron, respectively. At the same time, the activities of the wrist flexor and extensor were recorded by' surface electromyography. The maximal hand force and motor unit recruitment of the flexor carpi ulnatis (FCU) increased significantly (p<.05) when tile subjects wore the wrist splints during the daytime, but the maximal hand power of the FCU decreased with nighttime use of the splints. The maximal hand power and motor unit recruitment of the extensor carpi radialis (ECR) and the ECR/FCU ratio decreased both during nighttime and daytime use. The decrement of the ECR/FCU ratio was significant (p<.05). Wearing a wrist extension splint during nighttime led to the maintenance of a lengthened position of the wrist flexor, resulting in the wrist flexor becoming weak. Wearing a wrist extension splint during the day induced the wrist flexors to be greater. In healthy people, the imbalance between the wrist flexors and extensors may be caused by the use of a wrist extension splint. This study indicates that therapists have to consider whether a splint will be effective, as well as the wearing time, when prescribing splints to people with problems of the musculoskeletal system.
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether or not ‘focus on form’ instructions can be applied to 7 year old children"s communication classes and how many uptakes are observed from each class. And if it works, what types of ‘focus on form’ will be observed and which types of ‘focus on form’ are most useful for learners" uptakes. This study observed 9 different kinds of ‘focus on form’ types and divided into two higher types: Reactive Focus on Form and Preemptive Focus on Form. From this study, there were 103 ‘focus on form’ episodes which were recorded in order to identify occasions where there was attention to linguistic form. After 98 times, learners’ uptakes were examined from 103 ‘focus on form’ episodes. Learner uptake was generally higher and successful, to a much greater extent than has been reported for ESL adult classrooms. Uptake was higher in ‘reactive focus on form’ than in ‘preemptive focus on form’, in teacher-initiated ‘focus on form’ than in student-initiated ‘focus on form’, and also higher when blended with reactive and preemptive focus on form. Having accomplished this research I conclude it is necessary when attempting to examine young learner uptakes during ‘focus on form’ instructions in a communication class, the teacher should plan to use the most effective types of focus on form ‘recast’ and teacher-initiated episodes as possible, rather than student-initiated episodes.

There are two types of unaccusative verbs in English: change-type verbs and happen-type verbs. Korean learners of English seem to have serious acquisition problems of these verbs. The purpose of this study is to find the way to increase the acquisition rate of these verbs depending on two kinds of teaching methods: explicit focus-on-form instruction and implicit focus-on-form instruction and to observe which instructional technique is more effective in the Korean EFL learners' acquisition of these verbs. Through 10 weeks of instruction, this study showed that the learners who received the explicit focus-on-form instruction performed better than those who received the implicit instruction regarding the learning of English unaccusative verbs. Therefore, these results can be interpreted as providing evidence for facilitating the effectiveness of input enhancement for the L2 learning of English unaccusative verbs.
