        Municipal landfill leachate (MLL) contamination in surface water is a critical global issue due to the high concentration of toxic organics and recalcitrants. The biological treatment of MLL is ineffective due to an elevated concentration of ammoniacal nitrogen, which restricts the production of the recalcitrant degrading laccase enzyme. In this context, integrating an external laccase-anchored carbon catalyst (LACC) matrix system with the microbial system could be an efficient strategy to overcome the drawbacks of conventional biological MLL treatment technologies. In the present study, the LACC matrix was synthesized by utilizing nanoporous activated carbon (NAC) functionalized ethylene diamine (EDA) and glutaraldehyde (GA) (GA/EDA/NAC) matrix for the anchoring of laccase. The maximum anchoring capacity of laccase onto GA/EDA/ NAC was achieved to be 139.65 U/g GA/EDA/NAC at the optimized anchoring time, 60 min; pH, 5; temperature, 30 °C, and mass of GA/EDA/NAC, 300 mg and was confirmed by Fourier transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analyses. Further, the mechanistic study revealed the involvement of covalent bonding in the anchoring of laccase onto the functionalized surface of the GA/EDA/NAC matrix. The adsorption isotherm and kinetics of laccase anchoring onto the GA/EDA/NAC matrix were performed to evaluate its field-level application. Subsequently, the sequential microbial system (I-stage bacterial treatment followed by II-stage fungal treatment) and III-stage LACC matrix system could effectively reduce the COD by 94.2% and phenol by 92.36%. Furthermore, the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC–MS) and FT-IR analyses confirmed the effective degradation of organic compounds and recalcitrants by the integrated microbial and LACC matrix system. The study suggested that the application of the LACC matrix system has resulted in the complete treatment of real-time MLL by overcoming the negative interference of elevated ammoniacal nitrogen concentration. Thus, the integrated microbial and LACC matrix approach could be considered to effectively treat the MLL without any secondary pollution generation.

        감사청구제도는 감사를 통해 국민 권익을 보호하기 위한 제도이다. 이 러한 감사를 통해 공공부문의 도덕적 해이나 부정 등에 관한 사항을 적 발하게 되면서 감사의 역할과 기능에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 특히, 감사에 의해 공공기관의 책임행정을 구현한다는 목적에 따라 감사의 의 미는 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 그러나 국민의 신문고로서 역향을 수행할 것으로 기대하고 있는 감사청구제도에서 본 연구의 목적은 국민감사청구 제도와 공익감사청구제도 간 제도적 통합에 관한 근거를 제시하는 것이 다. 물론 기존 연구에서 두 제도 간 통합에 관한 제언을 하였으나 그에 대한 구체적 근거가 부족하고 원활한 감사청구제도를 위해 본 연구가 진 행되었다. 통합에 대한 논리적 근거로서 절차집행의 우선성, 법률적용의 확장성, 제도운용의 적절성을 제시하였다. 즉, 국민감사청구와 공익감사 청구가 운영 법률이 상이하긴 하나, 실제로 동일한 기능을 수행하고 있 고 청구인의 기준 및 청구대상 요건이 유사하다는 점이다. 또한 운영현 황에 있어 국민감사청구제도보다 공익감사청구제도가 상대적으로 원활하 게 운영되고 있다는 점이다.

        This study aims to develop a Commercial Vehicle Integrated Traffic Safety System utilizing Connected Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) technology. This system provides functionalities for accident prevention and efficient traffic management through vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications. The key findings suggest that the integrated system using C-ITS can offer functions for traffic safety and preliminary stages of autonomous driving. It is anticipated that by applying vehicle and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) technologies, traffic safety issues and driver convenience can be enhanced.

        Laser scabbling has the potential to be a valuable technique capable of effectively decontaminating highly radioactive concrete surface at nuclear decommissioning sites. Laser scabbling tool using an optical fiber has a merits of remote operation at a long range, which provides further safety for workers at nuclear decommissioning sites. Furthermore, there is no reaction force and low secondary waste generation, which reduces waste disposal costs. In this study, an integrated decontamination system with laser scabbling tool was employed to test the removal performance of the concrete surface. The integrated decontamination system consisted of a fiber laser, remote controllable mobile cart, and a debris collector device. The mobile cart controlled the translation speed and position of the optical head coupled with 20 m long process fiber. A 5 kW high-powered laser beam emitted from the optical head impacted the concrete block with dimensions of 300 mm × 300 mm × 80 mm to induce explosive spalling on its surface. The concrete debris generated from the spalling process were collected along the flexible tube connected with collector device. We used a three-dimensional scanner device to measure the removed volume and depth profile.

        통합항해시스템(INS)은 기존 항해 장비들을 통합하여 부가가치를 제공하는 장치로써 항해 업무 수행을 위한 정보와 기능을 다기능표시장치에(MFD)에 통합하는 것으로 정의된다. IMO 성능 기준은 각 업무에 대한 최소 요구사항을 명시하고 있지만, 장비 및 기 능의 목록은 정의하지 않아 제조사마다 INS의 구성이 상이하고 사용자 관점에 기반 한 지침 또한 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 선박 운 용상황 및 수행 업무에 따라 사용자가 요구하는 정보를 분석하고, 이를 INS의 MFD에 효과적으로 구조화하여 INS의 사용성을 높이기 위해 수행되었다. INS 관련 국제 기준 및 제조사의 구성 장비 목록을 분석하여 필수 항해 정보들을 선별하고 MFD 사용 경험이 있는 선박 운항자를 대상으로 카드 소팅 테스트를 실시하여 각 INS 업무에 요구되는 정보들을 분류하도록 하였다. 연구의 결과는 제조사들 이 제품 설계 시 사용자 경험을 반영한 정보 구성에 기본적인 가이드로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

        The reliable information on the hydraulic characteristics of rock mass is one of the key site factors for design and construction of deep subsurface structures such as geological radioactive nuclear waste disposal repository, underground energy storage facility, underground research laboratory, etc. In order to avoid relying on foreign field test technology in future projects, we have independently designed and made integrated type main frame, 120 bar waterproof downhole sonde, and 1,200 m wireline cable winch through a series of R&D activities. They are core apparatuses of the Deep borehole Hydraulic Test System (DHTS). Integration of individual test equipment into a single main frame allows safe and efficient work in the harsh field condition. The DHTS was developed aiming primarily for constant pressure (head) injection test and pulse test in deep impermeable rock mass. The maximum testing depth of the DHTS is about 1,050 m from the surface. Using this system, it is possible to make precise stepwise control of downhole net injection pressure in less than 2.0 kgf/cm2 with dual hydraulic volume controller and also to inject and measure the very low flow rate below 0.01 l/min with micro flow rate injection/control module. Over the past two years, we have successfully completed more than 50 in situ hydraulic tests at 5 deep boreholes located in the Mesozoic granite and sedimentary rock regions in Korea. Among them, the deepest testing depth was more than 920 m. In this paper, the major characteristics of the DHTS are introduced and also some results obtained from the high precision field tests in the deep and low permeable rock mass environment are briefly discussed.

        CYPRUS is a web-based waste disposal research comprehensive information management program developed by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute over three years from 2004. This program is stored as existing quality assurance documents and data, and the research results can be viewed at any time. In addition, it helps to perform all series of tasks related to the safety evaluation study of the repository in accordance with the quality assurance system. In the future, it is necessary to improve the user convenience by clarifying the relationship between FEP and scenarios and upgrading output functions such as visualization and automatic report generation. This purpose of this study is to research and develop the advanced program of CYPRUS. This study is based on building FEP, DIM and scenario databases. It is necessary to develop an algorithm to analyze and visualize the FEP, DIM and scenario relationship. This project is an integrated information processing platform for DB management and visualization considering user convenience. The first development goal is to build long-term evolutionary FEP, DIM, and scenarios as a database. The linkage by FEP item was designed in consideration of convenience by using a mixed delimiter of letters and numbers. This design provides information on detailed interactions and impacts between FEP items. Scenario data lists a series of events and characteristic change information for performance evaluation in chronological order. In addition, it includes information on FEP occurrence and mutual nutrition by period, and information on whether or not the repository performance is satisfied by item. The second development goal is to realize the relationship analysis and visualization function of FEP and scenario based on network analysis technique. Based on DIM, this function analyzes and visualizes interactions between FEPs in the same way as PID, RES, etc. In addition, this function analyzes FEP and DIM using network analysis technique and visualizes it as a diagram. The developed platform will be used to construct and visualize the FEP DB covering research results in various disposal research fields, to analyze and visualize the relationship between core FEP and scenarios, and finally to construct scenarios and calculation cases that are the evaluation target of the comprehensive performance evaluation model. In addition, it is expected to support the knowledge exchange of experts based on the FEP and scenario integrated information processing platform, and to utilize the platform itself as a part of the knowledge transfer system for knowledge preservation.

        Climate change has severely impacted food security and agricultural productivity in Africa. The scarcity of rains and the severe drought affecting the Sub-Saharan and the horn of Africa have impoverished the soil, and water resources, and have caused the death of livestock in countries like Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger, and etc. On the other hand, the usage of chemical fertilizers for soil and crop nutrients is becoming an economic and environmental burden for African farmers. Thus, the necessity to implement sustainable agricultural technics to maintain and improve soil fertility by applying natural nutrients obtained from livestock manure while livestock is fed with crop residues in a single agricultural area. Although this farming system offers environmental and economic benefits to farmers, particularly in the rural and semi-urban areas, its implementation is very low in Africa because of: 1) constant migration of herders in the search of green pasture for livestock, making the collection of manure difficult, 2) religious and traditional beliefs considering animal waste as not being pure to be applied on crops, 3) conflicts between herders and farmers over the control of water resources and arable lands, making the cohabitation of livestock and crops in one farmland unlikely, and 4) the habit of crop residues burning, which is not just harmful to the environment but also a waste of natural livestock fed. Based on the reviewed literature, the Korea-Africa Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (KAFACI) plans to develop and implement an integrated crop-livestock project in KAFACI member countries with the mission 1) to diffuse the importance of using natural nutrients for improving soil fertility and enhancing crop and livestock productivity in Africa, 2) to train researchers and farmers on new technologies for manure treatments, 3) to demonstrate the benefits of using livestock manure for soil fertility, crops nutrients, while using crop residues as livestock nutrients, and 4) contribute to enhancing sustainable agriculture in Africa through the reduction of greenhouse gas by reducing livestock’s waste and crop residues burning.

        Recently, in Korea, if a very large forest fire occurs due to the people’s carelessness, it is of great interest because it spreads into a large forest fire. If a wildfire spreads and becomes large, it will inflict great damage (appointment and property), and the damage is irreversible. The best way to extinguish a wildfire is to prevent it before it occurs. If a forest fire occurs due to a failure in prevention, the early firefighting activities to prevent the progress of the forest fire by promptly dispatching it by reporting it and approaching the site as soon as possible should now be managed with a systematic integrated management system. To do so, it is necessary to prepare a preventive system, such as issuing warnings for each weather condition by the Korea Forest Service, consisting of cooperation (support) activities for forest fire prevention by related organizations, etc. In order to minimize the loss of precious lives and forests, measures have been taken to establish a system, to establish a prompt and accurate situation reporting system, and to establish an integrated command system (ICS) for on-site commanders.

        With the rapid improvement of hardware and software-related IT technology, applying A.I. to the private and public sectors, such as the Food Poisoning Prevention Program in Nevada and Smart City based on big data in Boston, is steadily increasing. However, the cases of application to the regulation sector of government are still insufficient. The Korea Institute of Nonproliferation and Control (KINAC) is studying to apply A.I. technology to the regulation to improve the objectivity, consistency, and efficiency of classification and export licensing review. The KINAC developed the Nation Nuclear Technology Information Collection and Analysis System using A.I. techniques such as machine learning and deep learning techniques. KINAC and FNC Technology are developing the Export Risk Assessment System using A.I. modules and Bayesian Networks. The KINAC and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) are developing an inventory history management system subject to the Nuclear Cooperation Agreements. The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) and KINAC operate the Nuclear Import and Export Control System (NEPS) for application and export license review according to relevant laws such as the Foreign Trade Act. Therefore, preparing an integration plan for the existing NEPS and the new systems is necessary. Since the NEPS has to be operated and accessible at all times, so the stability of the NEPS is the most important when integration and linking. So, it is suggested that the Collection and Analysis System and the Risk Assessment System, which require a lot of data traffic, are configured in a server separate from the NEPS, and the new DB and the NEPS DB are only linked. An inventory history management system is also suggested to be integrated and configured into the NEPS. Third, it is recommended that each system lists the information provided to or received from the NEPS in advance, and one-way communication should be performed basically. Two-way communication should be performed when necessary. Finally, against various cyber accidents and information leakage, it is proposed to review security vulnerabilities and apply essential security measures and guidelines. Through the integration and linkage of these systems, it is expected that the objectivity, consistency, and efficiency of classification and export licensing review of the KINAC are strengthened, and national transparency of development, production, and use of nuclear material is enhanced. It can be satisfied with the increasingly strengthened demands of the international community on duty for strategic item management.

        The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are high fever, cough, headache, and fever. These symptoms may vary from person to person, but checking for “fever” is the government’s most basic measure. To confirm this, many facilities use thermographic cameras. Since the previously developed thermographic camera measures body temperature one by one, it takes a lot of time to measure body temperature in places where many people enter and exit, such as multi-use facilities. In order to prevent malfunctions and errors and to prevent sensitive personal information collection, this research team attempted to develop a facial recognition thermographic camera. The purpose of this study is to compensate for the shortcomings of existing thermographic cameras with disaster safety IoT integrated solution products and to provide quarantine systems using advanced facial recognition technologies. In addition, the captured image information should be protected as personal sensitive information, and a recent leak to China occurred. In order to prevent another case of personal information leakage, it is urgent to develop a thermographic camera that reflects this part. The thermal imaging camera system based on facial recognition technology developed in this study received two patents and one application as of January 2022. In the COVID-19 infectious disease disaster, ‘quarantine’ is an essential element that must be done at the preventive stage. Therefore, we hope that this development will be useful in the quarantine management field.

        In this study, a study was conducted to improve the reliability of the valve by developing a valve leakage and reliability measurement system designed to secure the high quality and reliability of the butterfly valve. The system measuring the torque required for valve opening and closing operation, and was configured to operate after multiple opening and closing of the valve to check for leakage of the valve. Finally, a system that can perform efficient work in terms of productivity was developed by enabling leak inspection, torque measurement, and reliability inspection through one integrated system.

        In the era of the 4th industrial revolution driven by the convergence of ICT(information and communication technology) and manufacturing, research on smart factories is being actively conducted. In particular, the manufacturing industry prefers smart factories that autonomously connect and analyze data. For the efficient implementation of smart factories, it is essential to have an integrated production system that vertically integrates separately operated production equipment and heterogeneous S/W systems such as ERP, MES. In addition, it is necessary to double-verify production data by using automatic data collection technology so that the production process can be traced transparently. In this study, we want to show a case of data-centered integration of a large aircraft parts processing factory that requires high precision, takes a long time, and has the characteristics of processing large raw materials. For this, the components of the data-oriented integrated production system were identified and the connection structure between them was explained. And we would like to share the experience gained through the design and implementation case. The integrated production system proposed in this study integrates internal components based on data, which is expected to serve as a basis for SMEs to develop into an advanced stage, and traces materials with RFID technology.
