Since the liberalization of gaming industry in 2002, Macau has become the leading destination for gaming, leisure and entertainment in Asia. Recently, few large-scaled integrated resorts (IRs) have been established and opened to public, bringing more diversified destinations for visitors in Macau. These include casino, hotel, food and beverage, retail, entertainment, etc. With this, there is no doubt that IR operators have to understand how consumers behave and respond to value added products in the IRs. Differentiating one IR from another raises the significance of innovating resort products to retain existing consumers and attract new ones. This research has investigated the impact of potential non-gaming value added products at Venetian Macao Resort on consumers’ patronage and has identified what key subitems can be added to stimulate consumers’ feedback and make them revisit the resort, recommend it to others or be interested in visiting it someday. Questionnaire was designed according to the structural equation modeling (SEM). Results proved the importance of potential value added products at Venetian Macao Resort in influencing consumers’ intention. Based on the findings, suggestions were offered to the management group of Venetian Macao Resort for its future implementation of value added products. Moreover, the results will encourage other IRs in Macau to improve further towards the goal of shaping Macau in becoming a world class tourist destination. First time visitors are more likely to consume in the areas of hotel, retail and casino, while multi-time visitors would prefer to spend on hotel, retail and F&B. To some extent, implies that casino does not seem to be the key activity to make the previous guests return. In addition, spending in hotel, retail and F&B are ranked high on visitors’ preferences, indicating that visitors at Venetian Macao Resort are willing to have diversified consumptions in the non-gaming areas. Moreover, the ways of value adding in terms of promotional pricing, new technology application, upgrading of products, customization and rewarding system can be used frequently as references for the future product improvement at the resort.

Rural tourism is primarily a domestic tourism activity with visitors traveling to non-urban areas. The development of local and regionally denominate food is a way to distinguish agricultural production and to promote rural tourism. Therefore, this study addressed how utilizing regional agricultural products results in increasing the intention of tourists to revisit an area. The purposes of this study were 1) to identify the image and motives for visiting Yesan, 2) to determine the importance of purchasing intention and the regional menu produced from local agricultural/special products, and 3) to identify the impact of purchasing local agricultural/special products and regional menus on the intention to revisit. A total of 202 usable questionnaires were collected at Ducksan Hotsprings and Suduck Temple in Yean area, which are known tourist attractions. The major findings obtained were as follows: First, Yesan was considered a relaxing place (3.46±1.09), which was the highest ranked image score for a tourist attraction. Second, the highest ranked motive for visiting Yesan was to rest (3.77±1.18). According to these findings, Yesan is a relaxing place, as it is a rural area with no known defined attractions. Third, most tourists (78.7%) recognized the apple as a local agricultural/special product. The intentions to purchase local agricultural/special products and the need for regional dishes in the local restaurant was higher than average. Tourists showed interests (3.88±1.16) in eating regional dishes made with local agricultural/special products at the restaurants. Fourth, a significant impact of purchasing local agricultural/special products and the regional menu was observed on the intention to revisit (p〈0.000). The results indicate that it is very important to develop proper regional menus that concur with images of the location and the regional farming products.

This research examines the affect of destination image factors on revisit intention of domestic tourists at Ba Ria Vung-Tau (BRVT), by questioning directly 510 domestic tourists. The convenient sampling method is used in dividing the crowds into four groups; the four main surveyed areas in BRVT are: Vung Tau, Long Hai-Phuoc Hai, Xuyen Moc and Con Dao. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies were utilized. A focus group of 10 domestic tourists was set up to review and explore the various factors as well as the conceptual model. An in-depth interview with 12 participants was developed to fine-tune measurement items. The questionnaire applied a 5-point Likert scale. Checking the reliability by Cronbach’s Alpha, exploratory factor analyzing and linear multiple regression were used with the SPSS program. The results show that there are eight main destination image factors affecting domestic tourists revisit intention to BRVT using linear regression and arranged by decreasing importance: Infrastructure, Variety Seeking, Accessibility, Local food, Atmosphere, Environment, Price Value, Leisure and Entertainment. From that, the research offers some suggestions and policy recommendations for the tourism business and provincial policy-makers to identify the main issues and develop better customer services to increase domestic tourists’ revisit intention.
