This study aims to analyse the coefficient used to estimate the quay capacity per year at the container terminal. The capacity of the container terminal is composed of the capacity at the quay side and the other working conditions at the back of the quay side. But when we refer the capacity of the container terminal, generally we used capacity as that of the container terminal. To estimate the quay capacity independently of the working conditions at the back of quay side, we calculate the quay capacity as th product of working hours per year, productivity of container crane and relate other coefficients, such that berth utilization, crane utilization and efficiency. So that coefficients are properly defined to reflect the other working conditions. If we calculate the quay capacity by the product of working hours modified by the berth utilization and crane productivity modified by the crane utilization and efficiency, the meaning of that coefficients must be strictly defined. So there could be no confusion to apply that coefficients to calculate the quay capacity. In this study, we exclusively define the meaning of the berth utilization, crane utilization and efficiency according to the internal-meaning of thats in the function to calculate the quay capacity. And compare each coefficients by decomposing the working hours at the terminal.

Today the pedestrian-related problems a key subject requiring the attention of the traffic engineers for improving the transportation system. Particularly in urban and CBD locations, the pedestrian presents an element of sharp conflict with vehicular traffic. Therefore pedestrian movements must be studied for the purpose of providing guideline for the design and operation of walking transportation systems. This paper is to address the characteristics of walking transportation in a big city. Especially the focuses are emphasized on the ratio occupied by pedestrian traffic among the whole unlinked trips in a city and walking time. The data for analysis are collected in Seoul metropolitan city through sampling 1,006 citizens. Compared with other similar research works this paper utilized diversified tools to acquire more useful results. Finally, policy directions for pedestrian environment improvement were suggested.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the analytical framework for a spatial structure of a tourism destination master plan by the two types of the tourism development models: Tourist attraction System Model and Tourism Destination Region Design Model. The resort development plan is introduced as a planning tool for regenerating the eastern Pusan regions, but the economic and environmental impacts and the sociocultural dilemma accompanied by the development should be fully considered before launching the business. The development plan announced currently is traced and examined in comparison with the upper-leveled and related plans. The Tourist Attraction System Model based on the systems theory is applied to the designated regions. The Tourism Destination Region Design Model then is applied for analyzing the components of each region on the master plan. The results of the findings suggest that the tourism destination plan is basically different from a general master plan on the physical comprehensive plan, the destination is recognized as a subsystem of the whole tourism system, and thus tourism destination plan is considered as a spatial arrangement of tourism facilities and the inter- and intra-circulation.

T his paper presents the lateral and longitudinal control algorithm for the driving of a 4WS AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The control law to the lateral and longitudinal control of the AGV includes adaptive agin tuning ability, that is the controller gain of the gravity compensated PD controller can be changed on a real-time. The gain tuning law is derived from the Lyapunov direct method using the output error of the reference model and the actual model, And to show the performance of the presented lateral and longitudinal control algorithm, we simulate toe nonlinear AGV equations of the motion by deriving the Newton-Euler Method, The read path is from quay yard area to docking position in loading yard area. The quay yard area is where the quay crane loads the container to the AGV and the docking position is where the container is transferred to the gantry crane. The road types are constructed in a straight line and J-turn. When driving the straight line, the driving velocity is 6㎧ and the J-turn is 3㎧.

In this paper, we describe an image processing algorithm which is able to recognize the road lane. This algorithm performs to recognize the interrelation between AGV and the other vehicle. We experimented on AGV driving test with color CCD camera which is setup on the top of vehicle and acquires the digital signal. This paper is composed of two parts. One is image preprocessing part to measure the condition of the condition of the lane and vehicle. This finds the information of lines using RGB ratio cutting algorithm, the edge detection and Hough transform. The other obtains the situation of other vehicles using the image processing and viewport. At first, 2 dimension image information derived from vision sensor is interpreted to the 3 dimension information by the angle and position of the CCD camera. Through these processes, if vehicle knows the driving conditions which are lane angle, distance error and real position of other vehicles, we should calculate the reference steering angle.

In this paper, we proposed the model of wireless communication for ACTS using DSRC and the DSRC system for T/C. The proposed wireless communication model is how to join with DSRC and other wireless communication in port. The DSRC system for T/C is the first application to the unit of port Facilities Automation on stacking area. The DSRC system is communicated between OBE and RSE using 5.8Hz ISM band frequency. The previous works of DSRC applications are gate automation. In these cases, the road trackers are difficult to obtain information of the port in the stacking area. So we used the DSRC for the wireless communication for the port Facilities Automation. Using DSRC, the load trackers obtain more information in the port and contacts to ITS on back-roads of port. The proposed communication system is serviced to reelection of port statistics.

For the rational and economic design of the structural elements of ships which is built using welding, the ultimate strength analyses of the plates having initial imperfections, such as welding residual stresses and strains, are needful. The welding deformation usually relied on approximative equations or based on expert's experience. But in this paper, for the thermal elasto-plastic analysis of plates, the finite element analysis was performed, based on initial strain method. In formulating the incremental analysis, unbalanced force terns were included. In the plastic domain during the incremental process, the 2nd order terns stress increment and yield stress increment were considered, so that time increment could be controlled for a more stable solution. The ultimate strength analysis program of the plates having initial imperfections was made. The ultimate strength analysis was carried out based on the results of the welding deformations of this paper. In the ultimate strength analysis the Rayleigh-Ritz method based on the minimum potential theory was used.

This study is on the purpose that the influence caused by noise and shaking through construction works shall be ranged to the fishing species of fishing area of the surface of sea. This study have been performed through analysis of physical effect by the value of noise and shaking test. The resulted purpose of this study has been carried out regarding whether influence factor of the fishing species and others are related or not as per the noise and shaking. For the purpose of the survey of noise and shaking, observances have been performed regarding the direct water surface of fishing area are as well as undersea. As for this result, the influence area for the injury at the fishing area caused by the noise and shaking have been stretched out to the distance of 10km from the source of sound. In this conclusion, this study is regarded as the reference basis of the compensation of injury for the species of fish and others in fishing area.

In this study a drift prediction model based on fluid dynamics theory is introduced. The essential effects of environmental loads and target characteristics are taken into account from a fluid dynamics point of view. The governing equations of motion are derived from Netwon's law of dynamics. In the mathematical formulation only three degrees of freedom(surge, sway, yaw) of the drifting object are assumed and the environmental loads considered are the forces and moments by wind and current. A computer algorithm for this model is implemented to obtain the numerical result in the time domain. The preliminary tests for model verification are conducted and the results are compared with the field experiment data as well as leeway formula suggested from the field test data.

A demand of marine outfall system has been much increased for the effective disposal of the wastewater due to population and industrial development at the coastal areas. The outfall system discharges primary or secondary treated effluent into the coastline, or at the deep water, or between these two. The discharge is carried out by constructing a pipeline on the sea bed with a diffuser or with a tunnel, risers and appropriate. The effluent, which has a density similar to that of fresh water, rises to the sea surface forming plume or jet, together with entraining the surrounding salt water and becomes very dilute. Thus there have been growing interests about plume behaviour around the outfall system. Plume or jet discharged from single-port or multi-port diffuser might cause certain impacts on coastal environment. Near field mixing characteristics of discharged water field using CORMIX model have been studied for effective outfall design various conditions on ambient current, depth, flow rate, effluent concentration, diffuser specification, port specification etc.. This kind of analysis is necessary to deal with water quality problems caused by the ocean discharge. The analyzed result was applied to the Pusan Jungang effluent outfall system plan.

Oil spill in sea water is the most frequent and significant problem of marine pollution. As an early detection sensor of the pollution, an activated carbon coated quartz crystal is prepared and examined for its performance of detection sensitivity and stability. Powdered activated carbon and phenol resin is coated on the surface of the sensor and the sensor is baked for an hour. Adsorption of acetone dissolved in water and salt water is measured using frequency shift of quartz crystal at different concentrations of solute material. The outcome indicates that the sensor preparation is adequate and the measurement of solute concentration is stable and sensitive enough to be implemented on the monitoring of solute concentration is stable and sensitive enough to be implemented in the monitoring of organic pollution of sea water.
