침적법에 의해 결정된 IGRs의 {{{{ { LC}_{50 } }}}}수준 (ppm)에 대한 미국흰불나방(Hyphantria cunea Drury) 5령충과 이화명나방 (Chilo suppressalis Walker)3령충의 amylase, invertase, invertase, chitinase 와 estrase의 활성비교 결과, 미국흰불나방은 IGs 처리후 amylase, 와 invertase의 활성은 무처리 보다 낮았고 chlirfluazuron 처리에서 는 가장 낮 은 활서을 보였으며 chitinaes의 활성은 무처와 비교해서 IGRs 처리 후 증가 되었고 esterase patterm 은 2가지{{{{{ Est- alpha }^{ 1}{beta } ^{b} , and { Est- alpha }^{ 2}{beta } ^{b}}}}} 로 분리되었으나 처리간 차이가 없었으며, 이화명나방에서는 amylase, invertase와 chitinase의 활성은 미국흰불나방과 비슷한 경향을 보였으나, amylase와 invertase의 활성은 미국흰불나방보다 7~10배 낮았고, chitinase의 활성도 미국흰불나방 보다 3~4배 낮았다. Esterase patterm은 4가지{{{{{ Est- alpha }^{ 1},{ Est-beta } ^{a} ,{ Est- alpha }^{ 2} and { Est- alpha }^{ 3}}}}}로 분리되었고 무처리 대비 pyriprox-yfen은{{{{{ Est- alpha }^{ -1} }}}}에서 chlorfluazuron와 trbufenozide은{{{{ { Est- beta }^{ a} }}}}에 서 강한 활성을 나타내었으나 diflubenzu-ron은 차이가 없었다.

본 실험은 미국흰불나방 (Hyphantria cunea Drury)과 이화명나방 (Chilo suppressalis Walker)에 대한 chlorflyazuron, diflubenzuron, pyiproxyfen 과 tebufenozide 와 같은 IGRs의 독성효과를 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 미국흰불나방에서, 1령충의 {{{{ { LC}_{50 } }}}}치 (ppm)기준 2령충~5령충의 내성비 범위는 chlorflua-zuron, diflubenzur on, pyriproxyfen과 tebufenozide에서 각각 1.07~3.58, 1.13~6.06, 1.02~3.23, 1.05~6.64이었다. 이화명나방에서, 1령충에 대한 3령충의{{{{ { LC}_{50 } }}}}치 (p pm)의 내성비는 chlorflua-zuron, diflubenzuron, pyriproxyfen과 tebufenozide에서 각각 2.86, 2.60, 19.80, 15.30이었다.

This study was carried out to compare farrowing rate and litter traits for European and American lines with boar sperm frozen in straws. Farrowing rate, litter size and mean pig weght at birth and 21 days were investigated. A total of 36 gilts Landrace, Large white and Duroc were investigated at the Chungnam Provincial Animal Breeding Station. We obtained higher farrowing rate and litter traits for European line boars compared to American line boars.

미국흰불나방 휴면번데기에 5 /g(생체중) 이상의 탈피호르몬을 처리하면 처리된 용의 약 50%가 우화했으며, 10 이나 12.5 /g의 처리구에서는 몇마리의 기형적인 성충이 나타났다. 한편 탈피호르몬의 체내함량을 적정한 결과 정상용은 용화 후 6일째에 약 3.2 /g의 최대값을 보였으며, 탈피호르몬을 처리한 용에서는 처리 6일째에 4.1 /g의 최대값을 보였다. 그러나, 휴면 용에서는 낮은 탈피호르몬 함량을 보였는데 측정 기간중 얻은 최대치는 1.73 /g 정도였다. 탈피호르몬을 처리한 휴면 용의 글리코겐함량은 정상용 보다 낮았으나, 성충조직 발육기간 동안의 발육양상은 정상 용의 경우와 비슷하였다. 또한 같은 처리를 받은 휴면 용의 포도당-솔비톨과 트레할로스의 농도는 처리 후 6일째에 최대값을 보였는데, 그 수준은 정상적으로 발육하는 개체의 경우보다 높았다. 탈피호르몬 처리를 받은 휴면용의 혈림프 내 수용성단백질 함량은 정상 용의 그것보다 낮았으며, 혈림프를 제외한 전체 조직 내에서 정상용의 경우보다 높았다.

Food is an expression of social identity. The food we eat identifies us as members of a social group, distinguishes us from other groups, and binds us together through a process of self-categorization and social identification. This research extends the theory of collectivism versus individualism as basic dimensions of culture and personality to research on food and identity. We tested 2 hypotheses among 402 university students in Korea and the U.S. 1) Americans assume relatively individualistic orientation while Koreans relatively collectivistic in orientation. 2) Koreans and Americans differ in their orientation toward food, with Americans assuming an individualistic orientation and Koreans assuming a collectivistic approach. The level of collectivism versus individualism was measured by using Hui's INCOL Scale. We initially hypothesized that the Americans would be strongly individualistic and Koreans strongly collectivistic, however our results did not prove this. The two groups showed collectivistic social identity with the Americans being a bit more collectivistic, so little support was found. In order to test the second hypothesis, we devised a new set of questions based on a idea by Hui and Fischer. It was found that this hypothesis was strongly supported. In conclusion, it is difficult to find overall differences in collectivism versus individualism between the two groups. But in the area of attitude toward food, we found clear differences. For Koreans, food is an expression of collectivistic identity, whereas Americans assume a more individualistic approach.

본 연구는 소비자의 외국산 제품에 대한 구매결정행위를 종합적으로 이해하고자 하는 시도이다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 미국 소비자들이 인식하고 있는 한국, 일본, 독일산 자동차의 기능적 및 상징적 제조국 이미지. 그리고 각 외국제품에 대한 소비자의 애국심이 구매결정과정에 어떻게 작용하는지를 분석했다. 분석결과에 의하면, 외국산 제품의 기능적 이미지, 상징적 이미지, 소비자의 애국심 요인이 모두 구매결정에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 각 요인의 영향은 기능적 이미지와 소비자의 애국심은 개인적 평가에 기초하는 브랜드 태도(brand attitude)를 통하여, 그리고 상징적 이미지는 사회적 평가요인인 주관적 규범(subjective norm)을 통하여 구매결정에 작용하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 구매의도에 대한 매개변수의 역할에 있어서는 브랜드에 대한 태도보다는 주관적 규범의 역할이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 외국산 제품에 대한 구매결정에 있어서는 기존의 기능적 이미지 외에 상징적 이미지와 소비자의 애국심 요인이 중요한 역할을 하고, 사회적 평가를 나타내는 규범적 요인이 크게 작용한다는 것을 시사해주는 것이다.

It has been reported that students hold various intuitive ideas about classroom experiences as well as natural phenomena. In addition, students may hold intuitive ideas about some means of science instruction. Two everyday devices, such as a humidifier and an electric heater, were investigated in terms of students' intuitive ideas. A total of 36 students (nine students from each of the following level; fifth-, eighth-, eleventh-grades, and college) were selected from the Central Texas Area. The researcher interviewed each subject. Less than 30 percent of the subjects believed that prolonged use of an electric heater in a closed small room will lead to the decreament of humidity in the room. However, only two students were aware that increased temperature lowers the humidity. Students held two major intuitive ideas about humidifier: human-centered and air-centered. The subjects who held human-centered views about humidifier believed that a humidifier clears human throats and lungs, or helps people to breathe easier. The subjects whose ideas were categorized as air-centered responded that a humidifier generates oxygen, cleans air, or provides moisture into the air. Higher grade students held more sophisticated ideas about electric heater and humidifier. Students' intuitive ideas about electric heater and humidifier were qualitatively different from those expected. Therefore, everyday devices which may be frequently used for science instruction should be investigated in terms of students' intuitive ideas. At the same time intuitive ideas about such devices should be incorporated into the planning of science instruction, curriculum design, and teacher education.

This is a report of a decriptive study of the secondary earth science to examine the geology education in the United States. The review of 35 states' science curricula and papers on science education presented the author a guide to this writing on earth science and geology education in the United States. Though the earth science education in the United States is characterized by great variety, the author could find two most common contents in geology curricula : these are $quot;Constitution of the Earth$quot; and $quot;Physical Geography$quot;. Methods of science teaching and use of computer and student assessment in the secondary schools in the United States are also reviewed and summarized in this study.
