Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam., IRG) is a widely cultivated winter forage crop known for its high yield and nutritional value. This study evaluated the processing characteristics and feeding performance of IRG-based pellets in Hanwoo cattle (Bos taurus coreanae) and Korean native black goats (Capra hircus). IRG was harvested at the optimal growth stage and processed into two pellet formulations: IRG ≥80% (with up to 20% soybean meal) and 100% IRG. Feeding trials were conducted under ad libitum feeding conditions. Hanwoo cattle showed higher intake of 100% IRG pellets (7.9 kg/day/head) than IRG ≥80% pellets (7.5 kg/day/head, p<0.05), with similar average daily gain (0.9 ± 0.4 kg/day/head). Conversely, black goats exhibited significantly lower intake of IRG ≥80% pellets (54.6 g/day/head) compared to 100% IRG pellets (266 g/day/head), likely due to reduced palatability associated with soybean meal inclusion. These findings suggest that IRG pellets are suitable for Hanwoo cattle, while further optimization of pellet size and formulation is required to improve acceptance in goats. Future studies should assess long-term impacts on digestion, rumen fermentation, and metabolic responses.
고속 스핀 에코를 이용한 T2 강조 영상에서 재자화 펄스의 FA 크기 변화에 따라 발생하는 전자파 유도 열을 정량적 으로 측정하고, 상변화 물질의 열 저장 특성을 활용하여 열 발생을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다.실험에서는 상변화 물질을 적용한 조건과 적용하지 않은 조건에서 각각 FA의 증가에 따른 온도 변화를 평가 하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 고속 스핀 에코 기반 T2 강조 영상에서 FA 크기의 증가에 따라 계산된 SAR 값은 상변화 물질 적용 여부와 관계없이 각각 0.64±0.048, 0.87±0.042, 1.33±0.042, 1.88±0.031 W/kg로 유사한 경향을 보였다.온도 변화 분석 결과, 상변화 물질을 적용하지 않은 조건에서 돼지 비계의 초기 스캔 온도는 19.3°C였으며, FA 증가에 따라 최대 21.9°C까지 상승하여 총 2.6°C의 온도 증가가 관찰되었다. 반면, 상변화 물질 을 적용한 조건에서는 동일한 초기 온도 19.3°C에서 19.7°C까지 상승하는 데 그쳐 0.4°C의 온도 증가만 나타났으며, 두 조건 간 약 2.2°C의 온도 차이를 보였다. 한편, 돼지 비계에 온열 경피 패치를 부착한 조건에서도 유사한 경향이 나타났다. 상변화 물질을 적용하지 않은 경우, 스캔 시작 온도 20.6°C에서 23.1°C로 총 2.5°C 상승하였으나, 상변화 물질을 적용한 경우에는 20.1°C에서 20.5°C로 0.4°C 상승하는 데 그쳐 약 2.1°C의 차이를 나타냈다. 이와 같은 결과 는 상변화 물질이 반복되는 고주파 자극에 의해 유도되는 온도 상승을 효과적으로 억제할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 전자파 흡수율 및 열 발생 저감에 대한 과학적 근거를 제공함으로써, 향후 MRI 검사 환경의 안전성 향상에 기초자료 로 활용되기를 기대한다.
Scrub typhus is a zoonotic bacterial disease caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi (Rickettsiales: Rickettsiaceae) and trombiculid mite larvae, also known as chigger, are known vector. Until recently, O. tsutsugamushi is the only species of the genus. However, two new species Candidatus O. chuto and Candidatus O. chiloensis that causes scrub typhus were reported recently in the Middle East, southern Chile, and Africa. In addition, Orientia spp. bacteria detected from field collected free-living Eutrombicula chigger mites in the United States. Despite these trends, research on new species is insufficient in the Republic of Korea. Therefore, we focused on finding the presence of novel species or strains from chiggers. Specimen chiggers harvested from rodents collected in 16 regions in October 2022 collaborating with the Regional Center for Vector Surveillance against Climate Change were selected. A total of 1,249 specimen belonging 4 genera and 14 species were identified by using a fluorescence microscope and 266 pools were produced by pooling up to 10 individuals per species chiggers. To detect Orientia spp., we screened by using a real-time PCR targeting the 16S rRNA gene. Overall minimum infection rate was 0.56% (7 pools/1,249 tested specimen). After screening, conventional nested-PCR for targeting 47-kDa htrA gene was conducted to obtain sequences, and four of the positive pools were amplified. Through phylogenetic analysis, three pools were clustered with O. tsutsugamushi Gilliam and UT221 strain, and the other pool was formed a clade that was distinct from O. tsutsugamushi. These results suggest that novel species of Orientia may exist in the Republic of Korea.
꿀벌부채명나방 종령유충의 whole body에서 gel filtration 방법으로 유약호르몬 결합 단백질을 분리, 정제하였다. 분리된 단백질은 column chromatography법과 전기영동법에 의해 등가성을 확인하였다. 이 결합단백질은 전기 영동법에 의해 32K, gel filtration 에 의해 28K의 상대적 분자량을 나타냈다. 또한, JH III에 대한 해리도는 3.9M로 확인되었다.
1998년 6월부터 9월까지 4개월간 수초자생 논에서 서식하는 말라리아 매개모기(Anopheles sinensis)를 대상으로 포식천적 송사리(Aplocheilus latipes)와 식식성 어류(Tilapia mossambicus niloticus)의 병합적 처리에 의한 생물학적 방제효과를 경기도 수원소재 대학 부속농장 실험포장에서 야외 조사하였다. 포식천적어 송사리는 논 수면에 방사율로, 식식성 어류 Ti-lapia는 비율로 병합적 처리한 결과, 처리 일주일후에 말라리아 매개모기는 대조군에 비해 70.8%의 방제효과를 나타내었고 4주와 5주후에 방제율은 점차 증가하여 각각 73.5%와 80.2%에 달하였으며, 5주후에는 말라리아 매개모기와 집모기(Culex pipiens)를 합하여 80~82%의 모기개체군 밀도의 억제효과를 계속 유지하였다. 송사리만의 비율로 단일처리한 논에서는, 4주후 말라리아 매개모기의 방제효과는 평균 51.4~56.5%로 비교적 저조하게 나타났으며, 모기 유충의 개체군 밀도를 억제하기 위한 미생물제제 B.t.i.(R153.78)을 1 kg/ha의 농도로 병합처리하여 그 방제효과를 비교 고찰하였다.
Background : Korean mountain ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) are difficult to industrially apply because of its scarcity and high cost. Advances in plant biotechnology have made it possible to produce mountain ginseng on a large scale using adventitious root cultures in bio-reactors. This study was conducted to develop a cosmetic emulsion using ginsenoside and physiological activity - enhanced raw materials by fermentation process. Methods and Results : Wild ginseng adventitious roots were fermented with Pediococcus pentosaceus HLJG 0702 (KACC 81017BP). ginsenoside contents was analysed by using HPLC. Antioxidant activity was measured by DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity and whitening effect was measured by tyrosinase inhibitory activity. After microfluidizer processing was performed to prepare emulsions with homogenized particles, particle size and distribution were measured through a transmission electron microscop e(TEM). Particle stability compares pH, viscosity, light and zeta potential. When fermented with Pediococcus pentosaceus HLJG 0702, the highest change rates of Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 were shown and the antioxidant activity was increased. The whitening effect was 73.2 ± 0.9% when treated at 100 ㎍/㎖, 1.5 times higher than the control. The optimum particle size and distribution were shown to be 418.0 ± 14.9 ㎚ for 6 times treatment with 0 - 10 times microfluidizer treatment. Stability was about 3% in pH, viscosity and light test. the zeta potential was found to be homogeneous at –33.33 mV. Conclusion : Pediococcus pentosaceus HLJG 0702 Fermented Wild ginseng adventitious roots were found to have effective ingredients and improved physiological activity. We have also developed emulsions that exhibit optimal particle size and distribution
Background : The minor saponins produced by the hydrolysis of a major saponins sugar. The minor saponins has high absorption and efficacy compared to major saponin. The acid treatment, heat treatment and fermentation with minor saponin research has been actively conducted. This study was performed in order to investigate the bioconversion of ginsenoside Rg5 of fermented wild ginseng adventitious roots by using lactic acid bacteria. Methods and Results : 20g adventitious roots of ginseng was added to water (10-fold v/w). 10% (v/v) of lactic acid bacteria (Pediococcus pentosaceus HLJG0702[KACC 81017BP]) were inoculated with wild ginseng adventitious roots. For the fermentation process the inoculated samples were transferred to culture room for 1, 3 and 5 days. The fermented samples were dried at room temperature and extracted with 70% ethanol. Extract was concentrated completely at 50 ℃ and Rg5 was analysed by using HPLC. Results showed no significant difference the dry weight of non-fermented and fermented wild ginseng adventitious roots. During the fermentation process, the pH changed from 5.7 to 4.2. HPLC analysis showed higher ginsenoside Rg5 (39.588 mg/g) at 3 days. Conclusion : The fermentation of ginseng root can increase the Rg5 contents and minor saponin composition. This process may be used to enhance the minor saponin thereby increasing in fermented property of wild ginseng adventitious roots.
Background : This study, the fraction for testing the efficacy of the Astragalus extract was concentrated active ingredient. The concentrated fraction was applied to a cosmetic material that Astragalus testing results confirmed that the improved efficacy. Methods and Results : The fractions were performed using an n-butanol solvent for increasing the efficacy of the Astragalus extract, by using the material fractions collected to compare and ultimately an increase in whitening and wrinkle efficacy. The solvent to be used in the fractions was used for the n-butanol good dissolution to the effective substance(Astragaloside, Isoflavonoid). It increased approximately 6.5 times the sample extract and the n-butanol fraction of the Astragalus as a result Astragaloside 15 ppm, 97 ppm respectively analyzed by HPLC equipment, isoflavonoid content was confirmed by an increase in the content of the fractions increased 4.5 times to 280 ppm, 1,260 ppm. Tyrosinase inhibitory effect, respectively IC50 5.70 mg/mL, IC50 1.02 mg/mL to, Collagenase producing ability is IC50 4.88 mg/mL, IC50 0.93 mg/mL with n-butanol fraction was good whitening, anti-wrinkle efficacy than the extract. Sensory evaluation was conducted in the same amount of sample, using a purified Astragalus cosmetics received high marks. Stability evaluation(MTT assay) was checked for more than 100% cell viability at the concentration 2,000 ppm. Conclusion : n-butanol fraction of Astragalus was subjected to a component analysis and In vitro test, it was confirmed an increase active ingredient content. The results of sensory evaluation and stability evaluation, it was confirmed been made to improve qualities as a cosmetic materials.
Background : Korean mountain ginseng(Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) are difficult to clinically apply because of its scarcity and high cost. Advances in plant biotechnology have made it possible to produce mountain ginseng extracts on a large scale using adventitious root cultures in bio-reactors. This study investigated the variations of ginsenoside compounds composition and biological activities of wild ginseng adventitious roots by fermentation process. Methods and Results : Wild ginseng adventitious roots with five days fermentation using four strain of bacteria(Leuconostoc mesenteroides(KACC 15744), Bacillus circulans(KACC 15822), Bacillus licheniformis(KACC 15823), Bacillus subtilis subsp. inaquosorum(KACC 17047)). Ginsenoside contents was analysed by using HPLC. To examine the antioxidant activity associated with biological functions, radical scavenging analyses DPPH, ABTS and SOD-like activity analyses were conducted. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents were evaluated to determine the antioxidant activity increment. The result showed increased total ginsenoside contents by fermentation process. In particular, B. licheniformis showed the highest ginsenoside contents. Regarding ginseng fermented with B. licheniformis, values of 70.6 ± 1.4%, 44.3 ± 1.7%, and 88.4 ± 1.3% were measured using DPPH, ABTS, and SOD-like antioxdiant activity analyses, respectively. The total phenolic contents in ginseng fermented with B. licheniformis was 184.5 ± 0.9 ㎍·GAE/㎖, and the total flavonoid contents was 108.5 ± 1.8 ㎍·QE/㎖ in ginseng fermented with L. mesenteroides. Conclusion : The high activity of β-glucosidase was selected bacteria. The four types of lactic acid bacteria examined, the use of B. licheniformis to ferment ginseng resulted in greatest increase in biological activities and ginsenoside contents.
