논에서 청보리를 수확한 후 사료용 옥수수를 뒷그루로 재배할 경우 옥수수의 파종 시기는 청보리의 수확시기에 의하여 결정되고, 이에따라 조사료 생산량이 영향을 받게 된다. 본시험은 청보리를 생육단계별로 수확한 후 뒷그루로 사료용 옥수수를 파종하는 작부체계에서조사료 생산성이 최대가 되는 청보리 수확시기와 사일리지 옥수수 파종시기를 구명코자 2009~2010년 충남농업기술원 논 시험포장에서 수행하였다. 청보리는 출수 후 20일에 수확하는 것이 생초수량이 가장 높았으나 건물수량과 TDN수량은 황숙기에 수확(출수 후 25일경)하는 것이 가장 높았다. 옥수수는 청보리를 출수 25일에 수확한 후 파종하면 건물수량이 적기 파종에 비하여 약 16% 감소하였다. 옥수수 적기 파종에 의한 단작 재배는 청보리 출수 후 25일수확+ 옥수수 파종 작부조합에 비하여 총 생수량 31%, 총 건물수량 28%, 총 TDN 수량23% 감소되었다. 청보리+ 옥수수 작부조합에서 총 생초수량은 청보리 출수 후 15일 수확 옥수수 파종 이 가장 높았으나, 총 건물수량과 TDN 수량은 청보리 출수 후 25일 수확 사일리지 옥수수 파종 이 가장 높았으며,이 때 청보리 생육단계는 황숙기이었고, 수분함량이 사일리지 제조에 가장 알맞은 시기이었다. 청보리를 황숙기 이후에 수확하면 옥수수의 수량이 급격히 감소되어 조사료의 총 생초수량과 TDN 수량이 크게 감소되므로 청보리를황숙기 이전에 수확하고 옥수수를 가급적 빨리파종할 필요가 있다.
청보리와 사료용 옥수수 작부체계에서 청보리 수확 후 만파한 사일리지 옥수수 7품종에 대하여 생육 및 수량을 적파재배와 비교하고자 2007년과 2008년 충남농업기술원에서 수행하였다. 청보리 뒷그루로 옥수수를 만파하면 생육 기간의 단축과 고온기 생육으로 인하여 경직경과 이삭의 크기와 무게가 크게 감소되었다. 적파에 비하여 만파시 지상부 전체 건물중에서 잎과 줄기의 구성비율이 증가되고 암이삭의 비율이 감소되었는데, 그 정도는 품종간 차이가 있었다. 청예수량, 건물수량 및 TDN 수량은 적파에 비하여 청보리 뒷그루로 만파시 변이계수가 높았다. 적파를 대비로 할 때 만파재배시 청예수량 91.8%, 건물수량 72.6%, 종실수량 51.0 %, TDN 수량 68.1% 수준으로서 종실수량의 감소폭이 가장 컸고, 이로 인하여 TDN 수량이 크게 감소되었으며, 청예수량은 감소폭이 가장 적었다. 청보리 뒷그루로 만파 재배시 건물수량과 TDN 수량이 높은 품종은 강다옥으로서 다른 품종에 비하여 이삭의 크기와 무게의 감소폭이 적었다. 따라서 청보리 뒷그루로 만파하면 경엽 건물수량에 비하여 종실수량의 감소폭이 크므로 총 건물수량을 확보하기 위해서는 파종기 이동에 의하여 이삭의 크기와 무게에서 변화가 적은 품종을 선정할 필요가 있었다.
살아있는 새고막을 자숙, 탈각한 후 크키가 비슷한 육만을 취하여 0.1% BHA, 0.1% Tenox-Ⅱ, 0.5% Na_2EDTA 및 0.05% NDGA 용액과 3% 식염수를 대조구로 하여 각각 용액에 1시간 침지시키고, 탈수시킨 것을 통조림 제조 공장에서의 가열처리 온도인 116℃에서 120분간 열처리후 carotenoid 색소의 잔존율은 대조구가 30.3%인 반면에 63.1%로 높게 나타났다. 다음으로 효과적인 것은 0.5% Na_2EDTA용액, 0.1% Tenox-Ⅱ 용액 순서였으며 116℃에서 시간별로 가열처리하였을 때 0.1% BHA 용액이 색소 안정화에 가장 효과적으로 나타났는데, 116℃에서 120분간 열처리후 carotenoid 색소의 잔존율은 차례대로 각각 59.0%, 57.1% 및 43.3%로 나타났다. 그리고 지용성 갈변물질의 생성은 대조구가 116℃에서 120분간 열처리후 흡광도가 0.051에서 0.297로 크게 증가한 반면에 0.1% BHA 용액에 침지시킨 제품이 갈변억제에도 가장 효과적으로 나타났으며 흡광도가 0.051에서 0.148로 약간 증가하였다. 새고막 육을 0.1% BHA를 용해시킨 3% 식염수에 1시간 침지한 후 관에 담고서 116℃에서 70분간 가열살균하여 급냉시킨 것을 37±1℃에서 2개월 동안 저장하였을 때 일반 성분은 매우 안정하여 성분상의 큰 변화가 나타나지 않았고, pH나 염도의 변화도 거의 없었다. 그리고 총 carotenoid 함량은 통조림 제조 직후 0.83mg% 이던 것이 저장 60일 후 0.72mg%로 다소 감소하였으나, 이때의 잔존율은 86.7%로 나타났다. 그리고 일반세균의 수가 원료에서는 6.92·10 exp (3) cfu/ml이던 것이 살균한 통조림 제품에서는 37±1℃에서 60일간 저장하여도 미생물이 검출되지 않았다. 원료의 아미노산 중에서 함량이 높은 주요 아미노산은 glutamic acid 156.8mg%(19.1%), arginine 131.8mg%(16.0%), glycine 103.5mg%(12.6%), alanine 100.3mg%(12.2%) 및 aspartic acid 62.8mg%(7.6%)로 나타났으며, 이들 5종의 아미노산 합계가 전체의 67.5%를 차지하였다. 그리고 함량이 적은 아미노산으로는 cystine 7.2mg%(0.9%), isoleucine 12.6mg%(1.5%), histidine 15.7mg%(1.9%), phenylalanine 15.7mg%(1.9%) 및 methionine 17.3mg%(2.1%)의 순서로 나타났다. 원료 중의 전체 아미노산 함량은 822.6mg%로 나타났으며, 통조림으로 제조후 37±1℃에서 60일 동안 저장하였을때는 786.9mg%로 잔존율이 95.7%로 매우 높게 나타나 통조림 제품의 유통 중에도 매우 안정하였다. 원료에서의 핵산관련물질 함량은 6.27umol/g으로 그 중에서 hypoxanthine 2.14umol/g, IMP 1.94umol/g, ATP 0.87umol/g 순서로 함량이 높았고, inosine은 0.38umol/g으로서 ?량이 제일 적었다. 그리고 37±1℃에서 60일 동안 저장하였을 때 전체 함량은 6.09umol/g로서 크게 변화가 없었다. 그 중에서 hypoxanthine은 2.73umol/g, inosine은 0.54umol/g으로 함량이 약간 증가하였고 ATP, ADP, AMP 및 IMP는 함량이 다소 감소하였다.
달걀의 Allergenicity를 감소시킬 수 있는 방안을 강구하고자 물리적 처리, 축합 인산염 처리 및 효소처리를 하여 Guinea pig를 이용한 Passive Cutaneous Anaphylaxis(PCA) inhibition 실험과 Non Proteic Nitrogen(NPN)정량을 통한 가수분해율의 측정결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 달걀의 allergenicity는 가열에 의해 감소하였으며 가열시간이 길수록 단백질 가수분해율 및 PCA inhibition을 증가시켰다. Ultraviolet照射와 microwave照射는 단백 가수분해율과 PCA inhibition을 증가시켜서 allergenictity를 저하시켰으며 ultraviolet이 저해효과가 더 컸으며 부화달걀은 allergenicity를 감소시키지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 효소처리는 단백질의 가수분해율 및 PCA inhibition을 증가시키며 allergenicity를 현저히 감소시켰으며 alcalase의 저해효과가 더 컸다. Polyphosphate의 첨가는 단백질의 가수분해는 유도하지 않았으나 PCA inhibition을 증가시키며 allergenicity를 감소시켰다. Allergenicity를 감소시키기 위한 처리를 한 달걀 gel의 주사전자현미경 사진은 효소처리시 표면이 밝게 나타나서 단백질이 분해되었음을 알 수 있었고 neutrase가 alcalase보다 밝게 나타났으나 반응시간의 증가에 따라 모든 효소 표면이 밝게 나타났다. Instron에서 달걀 gel의 경도를 측정한 결과 효소와의 반응시간이 길수록 경도가 감소하는 경향을 보였다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the daily meal pattern in Seoul families. The informations of this study were obtained from 443 housewives in Seoul during August 20 to September 20, 1994, by using questionaires. The χ^2 test was applied to see the individual data. The following observations were made in this study. 57% of Seoul families had rice with side dish set three times a day, the first choice for rice substitute was bread in breakfast and noodle in lunch, 98% of the subjects had rice in dinner. The change of the meal pattern from boiled rice to bread and noodle was the result of social changes such as urbanization, heightening up of education level of woman and the resulting increase of woman employment. They were consumed 2∼5 varieties of side dishes. The favorite were Kimchi and Cigae` and Guk. The major meal pattern is Seoul is still the traditional one composed of boiled rice and side dishes.
Background : Chinese matrimony vine (Lycium chinense Mill.) is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Solanaceae. The leaves are used as an alternative raw material replacing dried fruits associated with high production costs in many industires. The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of drying temperature on the leaves used in the manufacture of functional products.
Methods and Results : The leaves of Chinese matrimony vine were harvested when the plant height reached 60 - 70 ㎝ in the spring and treated at four different temperatures (40℃, 50℃, 60℃ and 70℃). The time to reach the desiccation state of 20% was 63 h at 40℃, 37 h at 50℃, 17 h at 60℃ and 11 h at 70℃. The drying rate per hour was 1.28% at 40℃, 2.25% at 50℃, 4.94% at 60℃ and 7.60% at 70℃. No significant difference were observed in ash, crude fat, polyphenol or rutin content of treated samples. Crude protein and betaine content decreased with higher dry temperatures. Nitrogen free extract of the treated samples increased with higher drying temperatures.
Conclusions : Taking into consideration drying time, drying rate, color value, energy consumption and functional ingredients is advantageous to dry the leaves of the Chinese matrimony vine at 60℃ using a hot air agricultural dryer.

A new waxy corn hybrid ‘Daedukchal 1’ was developed from single cross between CNU 504 and CNU 2396 at Chungnam National University in 2007. Inbred CNU 504 used as a seed parent and inbred CNU 2396 as a pollen parent were collected throughout domestic regions. Tasseling date of this hybrid was seven days later than that of check hybrid, ‘Chalok 1’. ‘Daedukchal 1’ was 19.7 cm in ear length and 4.5 cm in ear diameter. On yield trial, ear length of this hybrid was increased 29.7% compared with a check hybrid, ‘Chalok 1’. ‘Daedukchal 1’ had white kernels and good eating quality due to high sugar content and thinner pericarp. The ratio of kernel set length/ear length was similar to ‘Chalok 1’. It is moderately resistant to southern leaf blight and northern leaf blight but susceptible to corn borer. The yields of ‘Daedukchal 1’ in fresh ear weight and in number of fresh ear were 16% and 8%, respectively, higher than those of a check hybrid in regional yield trials for two years. Seed production for this hybrid was better because of the consistency of tasseling dates.
Inbred lines were gained from corn genetic resources collected by our lab and also deveolped by our Corn Breeding Lab. Materials used were eleven hybrids including yellow waxy corn hybrid CNU19 (applied as Daehakchal Gold 1 in 2007). These hybrids were harvested at 30th day after fertilization for antioxidants activity analysis; polyphenol compounds, inhibitory effect of xanthin oxidase activity, catalase activity, superoxide dismutase activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity. Daehakchal Gold 1 among hybrids were midseason variety and higher than check Chalok 1. The ratio of ear height to stem height was low as 50% below. Kernel set ratio was also higher than check hybrid. Among antioxidant analysis, Polyphenol compound was the highest in Daehakchal Gold 1 (CNU 19) as 3.77μg/ml, and CNU 21, CNU 93 and CNU153 including check were high trend compared to others. Xantine oxidase(OX) catalase activity, SOD activity and DPPH radical scavenging effect by using methanol extracts were also comparatively higher in CNU 19 hybrid than others. Besides, catalase activities of Daehakchal Gold 1 hybrid extracted by methanol and haxane were higher than other hybrids. From experiment results, this hybrid was superior to other used hybrids in botanical character, table quality and funtion.
This study was carried out to gain the basic informations about botanical characteristics of plant type and properties related to table quality for developing the new colored waxy corn hybrid. Materials used were produced by our laboratory in 2007 and their major traits were evaluated fro two years(2008 to 2009) at Corn Breeding Farm of Coll. of Agri. & Life in CNU. Items surveyed were major agricultural characteristics including ear length and traits related to edible. Botanical characteristics as a plant type and ear pattern of the developed waxy corn hybrids showed large ranges among them; stem height of CNU08H-h39 among used hybrids was the highest as 235.7cm, while CNUH08-15 was the lowest. Ear height of Daehackchal Gold 1 was the highest as 83.7cm and that of CNU08H-15 was the lowest among used hybrids. Ear length of CNU08H-h121 among used hybrids was the longest as 23.1cm, while that of CNU08H-71 was the smallest as 12.7cm. Kernel sugar content of the used hybrids appeared to be 16.1 to 13.0Brix(%). Especially, CNU08H-15, CNU08H-35 and CNU08H-h39 hybrids were highly appeared as 15 above. Pericarp thickness of check hybrid, Yeonongchal, was thicker as 46.0㎛, while that of CNU08H-39 compared to other hybrids showed the thinnest as 23.0㎛. From this study, we could obtain several superior colored hybrids with thinner pericarp and high sugar contents like CNU 08-39 and CNU 08-h121 hybrids. Accordingly, these hybrids will be apply as new developed variety through confirmed trials.
A new yellow waxy corn hybrid "Daehakchal Gold 1" was developed from single cross between Yeongdeok Jaera and Okchen Jaera at Chungnam National University in 2007. Inbred CNU57 derived from Yeongdeok Jaera was used as the seed parent of Daehakchal Gold 1, and inbred CNU 27 derived from Okchen Jaera as the pollen parent. Tasseling date of this hybrid was seven day later than that of check hybrid, Chalok 1. Daehakchal Gold 1 was 19.7cm in ear length and 4.5cm in ear diameter. The yield of Daehakchal Gold 1 and check hybrid in dry matter were 146.5g and 113.9g per plant, respectively. On yield trial, which were increased 29.7% compared with a check hybrid, Chalok 1. Especially, Daehakchal Gold 1 had yellow kernels and good eating quality. The ratio of kernel set length/ear length was similar to Chalok 1. It is moderately resistant to Bioporalis maydis and corn borer. The yields of Daehakchal Gold 1 in fresh ear weight and in number of fresh ear were 16% and 8%, respectively, higher than those of a check hybrid in regional yield trials for three years. Seed production of this hybrid has gone well due to good match during crossing between seed and pollen parents.
This study was carried out to breed and develop high quality and functional nutrient tomato with multi disease resistance as well as a stable growing adaptation for fresh market usage under protected plastic houses cultivation. The materials were used 5 inbred lines and their 6 hybrids of large tomato group, which have been bred and developed from 1999 to 2007 in Division of Plant Resource Department of Chungnam National University. Fruit weight showed hybrid vigor effect that F1 hybrids weighed more than their parent lines, fruit shape formed three type of oblate, deep oblate and globe shape, in firmness and pericarp thickness have got a high significant correlation, inbred DN611 line was measured the most firm fruit with 6.04 mm pericarp thickness. In fruit color at maturity, pink color crossed to red color appeared all red fruit color in the F1 hybrids, it means red skin color is a dominant gene compared to pink skin color is a recessive gene in tomato, while between fruit skin color and shoulder part color showed no any co-relationship. The sugar content and titratable acid of F1 hybrids inherited an intermediate data of their parent lines, the flavor of KP543 inbred line and the hybrid (JB535 x KP543) revealed the better taste with high brix and proper titratable acid content*. In beta carotene content DN611 line showed 2~3 times higher than other materials so that its 3 hybrids contained an increased level of beta carotene, lycopene content was not so much difference among inbred lines and F1 hybrids, of them MD508 contained higher of 8.72 mg and hybrid (JB535 x JA517) had 8.05 mg lycopene content per 100 g fruit, overall pink skin color and red skin color measured a higher lycopene content than yellow and orange skin color at ripe stage. In disease resistance test by PCR marker for Fusarium race2 (I2), Nematode (Mi1), ToMV (Tm22), Cladosporium (Cf9), (JB535 x JA517) hybrid have got multi-resistance with homozygote band in Nematode, ToMV, Cladosporium and heterozygote band in Fusarium race2. Through this breeding program we could select high quality and functional nutrient with multi resistant F1 hybrids and inbred lines in tomato which are two best hybrids (JB535 x MD508), (JB535 x JA517), additionally developed high beta carotene inbred line DN611 and increased the level of lycopene inbred line MD508. These results will be very useful to make a high quality tomato variety continuously.
