        This study was conducted to determine the optimal Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K) fertilizer composition for the growth of containerized Quercus myrsinifolia Blume seedlings by analyzing trait-specific growth responses and selecting superior treatments using response surface methodology (RSM) and a comprehensive growth index (CGI). Fifteen fertilizer treatment combinations and an untreated control were established by varying the ratios of N, P and K within the ranges of N 1.5, 1.75, and 2.00 g L-1; P 0.9, 1.4, and 1.9 g L-1; and K 1.5, 1.75, and 2.00 g L-1. For three months after fertilizer application, height, root collar diameter (RCD), H/D ratio, leaf length, leaf width, and number of leaves were measured. The quadratic response surface regression showed that the model fit differed among growth traits, with relatively high coefficients of determination for leaf length, height, and H/D ratio. Height and H/D ratio were significantly affected by the P × K interaction, whereas leaf length was influenced by N, K, N × K, and K2 terms, indicating that seedling growth responses were determined by nutrient balance and interaction effects rather than by a single nutrient alone. In the CGI analysis, T4 containing N, P, and K at concentrations of 2.0, 1.4, and 1.5 g L-1, ranked highest in both Equal CGI and Weighted CGI, with values of 0.741 and 0.772, respectively. T5 (1.75:1.4:1.75) ranked second in both indices, while T2 and T6 showed different rankings depending on whether height and RCD were weighted more heavily or all traits were equally considered. These results indicate that the optimal NPK composition may vary depending on the target growth trait; however, T4 was identified as the most favorable candidate for promoting comprehensive growth of containerized Q. myrsinifolia seedlings. This study provides quantitative baseline information for establishing fertilization regimes and improving container seedling production techniques for warm-temperate evergreen broad-leaved tree species.

        본 연구는 토마토 육묘기에 적용한 DIF 처리가 묘소질과 정식 후 생육, 조기 수확성 및 초기 수량성에 미치 는 영향을 구명하고자 수행되었다. 육묘기 DIF 처리 결과, 생육 단계에 따라 처리 간 반응이 상이하게 나타났다. 육 묘 초기에는 +5 DIF 처리 조건에서 잎 전개와 초장 신장이 상대적으로 촉진되었으나, 육묘 후기에는 -5 DIF 처리 구에서 엽면적, 생체중 및 건물중이 높았다. 특히 -5 DIF 처리는 초장 신장을 효과적으로 억제하면서 경직경 비대 와 근장 발달을 동시에 유도하여, 지상부와 지하부 생육의 균형이 우수한 강건묘 형성에 가장 적합한 조건이었다. 육묘기 DIF 처리는 정식 이후 생육과 수량 형성 단계까지 지속적인 이월 효과를 나타냈다. DIF 처리의 경우, -5 및 -8 DIF 조건에서는 조기 수확성이 뚜렷하게 향상되었다. 대조구(0 DIF)와 +5 DIF 에서는 정식 후 7주차까지 수확 이 되지 않는 반면, - DIF 처리구에서는 동일 시점에 전체 개체의 약 절반 이상에서 수확이 가능하여 수확 개시 시점 이 최소 2주 이상 앞당겨졌다. 특히 -5 DIF 처리구는 정식 이후 영양생장과 생식생장의 균형이 안정적으로 유지되 었으며, 그 결과 누적 수확량이 가장 높게 나타나 전반적인 생산 효율이 우수한 처리로 평가되었다. 이상의 결과로 토마토 육묘기 -5 DIF 환경 관리가 묘의 초형을 안정적으로 제어하면서도 정식 후 초기 활착을 개선하고, 수확 시 기를 단축하며 초기 수량성을 극대화할 수 있는 가장 효과적인 재배 관리 전략으로 판단된다.

        본 연구는 경상북도 안동시와 영양군의 고추 주산지를 대상으로 고추 품종의 생육 특성과 수량을 조사하고 SIMPLE 작물모델의 예측 성능을 평가하기 위해 수행되었다. 시험에는 기존 품종 2개와 신육성 품종 5개를 포함한 총 7개 품종이 사용되었으며, 육종가가 제공한 성능 자료를 바탕으로 적응형(adaptive)과 회복형(resilience) 그룹 으로 분류하였다. 2019년부터 2023년까지의 기온 자료를 분석한 결과 두 지역 간 기후 차이는 미미하였으며, 두 지 점 모두 작기 종료 시점에 약 1,800°C·day의 GDD가 누적되었다. 적응형 품종은 밀집형 수관 구조와 더 많은 영양 생장 바이오매스를 나타낸 반면, 회복형 품종은 개방형 수관 구조와 신장된 절간을 보였다. 생식효율의 지역적 차 이가 뚜렷하여, 안동에서는 두 그룹의 최종 수량이 유사하였으나 영양에서는 적응형 품종의 수량이 유의하게 높았 다. SIMPLE 모델은 잎 노화 및 성숙과실로의 동화산물 재분배에 따른 작기 후반부 바이오매스 감소를 반영하기 위 해 1차 감쇠항(first-order decay term)을 도입하여 수정되었다. 캘리브레이션 결과 두 지역에서 서로 다른 매개변수 세트가 도출되었으며, 안동은 빠른 초기 생장, 높은 광이용효율, 낮은 내고온성을, 영양은 점진적 생장, 높은 내고온 성, 높은 수확지수를 특징으로 하였다. 모델 성능은 지점-품종 조합에 따라 상당한 변이를 보였으며, 이는 예측 정확 도가 품종 특성과 미환경 조건 간 상호작용에 의해 결정됨을 시사하였다. 한국의 다양한 고추 생산환경에서 모델의 강건성과 전이성을 향상시키기 위해서는 지역 특이적 캘리브레이션과 기계론적으로 개선된 노화 모듈이 필수적이 며, 다년차·다지점 검증과 불확실성 분석이 향후 우선 과제로 제시된다.

        Salvia plebeia R. Brown is a medicinal plant containing various bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, and has been reported to exhibit diverse pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and hepatoprotective activities. However, previous studies on S. plebeia have mainly focused on phytochemical identification and pharmacological evaluation, while biotechnological approaches aimed at enhancing the productivity of major bioactive compounds—particularly metabolic regulation and content improvement through elicitor treatment in in vitro culture systems—remain largely unexplored. In this study, we investigated the effects of elicitor treatments on the accumulation of homoplantaginin, a major bioactive compound in the leaves of in vitro–cultured S. plebeia, as well as the associated changes in anti-inflammatory activity. In vitro–grown plantlets were treated with yeast extract at concentrations of 1, 2, and 5 mg/L and polyethylene glycol (PEG) at concentrations of 1, 2, and 5% (w/v), respectively. Homoplantaginin content was quantitatively analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by measuring nitric oxide (NO) production inhibition in RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. As a result, the homoplantaginin content was significantly increased in the treatment with 2 mg/L yeast extract compared to the control, while the highest NO inhibition activity was observed in the 5% PEG treatment. These findings suggest that elicitor treatment can effectively enhance the production of bioactive compounds and anti-inflammatory activity in in vitro–cultured S. plebeian. Furthermore, this study provides fundamental data supporting the potential industrial application of S. plebeia through further elucidation of metabolic pathways and optimization of culture conditions.

        Camellia japonica L. is highly valued for its ornamental and industrial applications. However, existing limitations in conventional seed and cutting propagation necessitate the development of a stable and efficient mass propagation system. This study systemically optimized each critical stage of in vitro culture—including shoot and root development, multiple shoot induction, rooting, and acclimatization —and quantitatively assessed the overall efficiency using integrated indices. Shoot growth was most vigorous on Woody Plant Medium (WPM) without the addition of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), while root development was notably promoted by Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with IBA. The highest number of multiple shoots was produced using basal explants cultured on MS medium containing 0.5 mg/L thidiazuron (TDZ), yielding an average of 2.67 shoots per explant. Optimal root induction was observed following a 15-min pulse treatment with 500 mg/L IBA (producing 24,33 roots), whereas the root elongation was maximized by a 5-min treatment with 1000 mg/L IBA (2.10 cm). Acclimatization successfully resulted in 100% survival in both tested substrates (A: peat moss, perlite, and cocopeat mixed in a 3:1:1 ratio; B: peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite mixed in a 1:1:1 ratio), with substrate B promoting a greater increase in plant height. Normalized growth parameters were averaged to calculate the Camellia Micropropagation Index (CMI). Integrated analysis identified the most efficient treatments as: WPM without IBA (shoot growth), MS with IBA (root growth), MS + 0.5 mg/L TDZ with basal explants (multiple shoots), 1000 mg/L IBA for 5 min (rooting), and substrate B (acclimatization). Despite these optimal conditions, considerable variation within treatments suggests that further fine-tuning or long-term evaluation is necessary to improve reliability. These findings provide a robust guideline for establishing a successful in vitro mass micropropagation system for C. japonica.

        This study was conducted to provide comprehensive information on the current status, constraints, and policy responses regarding rice cultivation in Uzbekistan for researchers and policymakers engaged in rice production in Central Asia. Despite annual fluctuations, Uzbekistan’s rice cultivation area has consistently exceeded 100,000 hectares each year. The yield per unit area improved by 19.2%, increasing from 4.21 t/ha in 2021 to 5.02 t/ha in 2024. In terms of cultivation methods, the proportion of doub le c ropping rose f rom 50.7% t o 71.6%, a lthough productivity remained h igher in s ingle cropping (5.35 t/ha) compared to double cropping (4.88 t/ha). Rice demonstrated an economic advantage of 2-5 times per hectare compared to major crops such as wheat, corn, and cotton. However, domestic production growth has not kept pace with rising consumption demands, leading to a sharp increase in imports, from 9,000 tons in 2019 to 108,800 tons in 2023. The structure of rice imports is shifting from a heavy reliance on Kazakhstan (90%) toward diversification, including partnerships with Pakistan, Thailand, and other countries. Major constraints to rice production in Uzbekistan include an arid climate, chronic irrigation water shortages, and soil salinization, which affects 50-70% of irrigated farmland. In response, the government established a comprehensive development strategy through Cabinet Resolution No. 986 in 2019 and is currently promoting economies of scale by establishing 42 clusters across 8 provinces (covering 41,440 hectares, or 29.7% of the total area). To address water scarcity, laser land leveling technology has been implemented on over 700,000 hectares as of 2024, aimed at reducing irrigation water usage and increasing yields, with plans to further expand water-saving cultivation technologies. In terms of international cooperation, the KOPIA project is enhancing quality seed production and distribution, as well as establishing machine transplanting cultivation technology. Partnerships with IRRI and participation in the Council for Partnership on Rice Research in Asia (CORRA) are strengthening the development of climate- adaptive varieties and international networks. Overall, Uzbekistan’s rice industry has the strategic potential to contribute significantly to food security, rural economic development, and regional trade activation through systematic policy implementation and enhanced international cooperation.

        Spirodela polyrhiza (L.) has been known as greater duckweed or great duckmeat. It is native inhabited in Korea. It is considered as a rich source of primary metabolites including protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Thus, it is considered as an alternative food source for the future. In addition, it has a strong phytoremediation capacity to remove various environmental pollutants, especially inorganic elements and pesticides. With a variety of duckweed’s application, there is an urgent need to develop a cultivation method for a sustainable supply of S. polyrhiza. In this study, an indoor vertical farm has been introduced to optimize duckweed cultivation. Indoor cultivated S. polyrhiza showed about 2-fold higher fresh weight than outdoor cultivated duckweed. Contents of inorganic elements were also significantly reduced in indoor cultivated S. polyrhiza. Especially, lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and arsenic (As) were approximately 10-fold decreased in indoor cultivated duckweed. On the other hand, contents of proteins and fats were significantly increased in indoor cultivated S. polyrhiza, while carbohydrates were found more in outdoor cultivated S. polyrhiza. Increasing N content in a homemade nutrition solution also enhanced fresh and dried weights of S. polyrhiza by about 1.8-fold in comparison with other commercial nutrition solutions. Proliferation rate (%) was doubled every 24 hours in this indoor vertical farm, indicating the accomplishment of a sustainable supply for S. polyrhiza. Further studies need to be undertaken to cultivate other duckweeds such as Wolffia arrhiza and Lemna minor using the same indoor farming system.

        This study analyzes the fragmented landscape of global loot box regulations, which have emerged from a discourse predominantly focused on negative aspects such as gambling. The analysis reveals a variety of coexisting regulatory models—including prohibition under gambling law, mandatory disclosure, and self-regulation—that lack a unified standard and raise issues of practical effectiveness and reverse discrimination. Consequently, this paper argues for an urgent shift beyond a problem-solving approach toward balanced research that examines the positive functions of loot boxes for players and the industry ecosystem to inform rational policymaking.

        Rehmannia glutinosa root and Saururus chinensis plant have been widely used in natural traditional medicines. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the content of the main components of R. glutinosa root and S. chinensis plant by extraction method. The results of comparative analysis of extraction yield, total flavonoid, and polyphenol content by extraction method indicated that extraction yield had the best performance with hot water extraction for R. glutinosa and ultrasound-assisted extraction for S. chinensis. The total flavonoid and polyphenol content had the best performance with maceration extraction for R. glutinosa and ultrasound-assisted extraction for S. chinensis. ABTS and DPPH activity was excellent with maceration extraction for both R. glutinosa and S. chinensis. The analysis of the main components showed that maceration extraction was most effective for both S. chinensis and R. glutinosa. Specifically, maceration extraction of R. glutinosa yielded 1.5 times more than conventional ultrasound-assisted extraction.

        코로나바이러스감영증-19 사태가 전세계를 강타하면서, 우리는 기존과 다르게 변해가는 일상 에 적응하는 뉴노멀 시대를 맞이 하였다. 코로나19 이후, 방송, 강의분야 등 문화예술계에도 비대면 문화가 급속도로 확산되고, 방송업계는 랜선방청제도를 도입하여 화상시스템을 통한 온 라인 실시간 방청을 제공하여 관객의 참여를 유도하고 있으며, 강의행사 분야도 화상회의 시 스템을 활용한 진행과 유튜브 플랫폼을 활용한 실시간 송출의 비대면 형태로 진행되고 있다. 이러한 비대면 참여환경은 물리적 스테이지의 한계, 음향 촬영 구도의 아쉬움, 현장감, 생동감 등 몰입적 측면에서의 한계가 존재하고, 언택트 방송 및 공연의 경우 음향과 촬영구도가 아쉬 운 부분으로 꼽히며 현장과의 괴리감, 집중하고 싶은 장면을 선택하여 볼수 없다는 한계도 지 닌다. 비대면 강의 경우에도 일상에서 쉼 없이 이어지는 비대면 참여 환경에 ZOOM Fatigue 라는 신조어가 등장할 만큼 비대면 환경에서의 집중력과 흥미를 잃어가는 현상이 나타나고 있 다. 이처럼 코로나19로 인한 변화가 일상화되면서 인류의 역사는 코로나19 (BC, Before Corona), (AC, After Corona) 나뉠 것이라는 예측이 일기도 한다. 무엇보다 코로나19로 인 해 인류의 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화, 교육등 모든 영역이 대변화를 맞은 가운데 가장 큰 변화는 물리적 접촉이 최소화되면서 Untact문화가 확산됐다는 점이다.

        Since rice is the main food in Korea, there are no regulations on corn milling yet. Corn is known as one of the world's top three food crops along with wheat and rice, and it is known that 3.5 billion people worldwide use corn for food. In addition, corn mills are not developed or sold in Korea, but the use of corn mills is increasing significantly in many countries in Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, as Korea's rice mill import increases, Korea's KAMICO (Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative) and domestic company A agreed to develop a corn mill jointly with PHilMech, an organization affiliated with the Philippine Ministry of Agriculture. However, research on corn milling was very insignificant, so the development was carried out based on the technology of Korea's rice mill. Rice milling is performed by peeling off the skin of rice and producing brown or white rice, so it is carried out by removing the skin and cutting the skin. On the other hand, in the corn mill, the skin of the corn is peeled, pulverized and selected to produce main products suitable for edible use. Therefore, in order to develop a corn mill, processes such as peeling, transfer, grinding, sorting, and by-product separation are required, and suitable parts must be developed. In addition, the performance must be gradually improved through experiments in which corn is repeatedly milled. The Philippines produces 7.98 million tons/year of corn, which is about 100 times that of Korea, and is mostly consumed as a staple food. This is about 10% of the total crop production in the Philippines. In addition, the main cultivation complexes of corn are the mountainous regions of Tarlac or Pangasinan, and the produced corn is 72.4% of the so-called yellow corn called Arabel and Sarangani, and the remaining 27.6% are known as white corn. In this study, it was intended to produce grains of 2.5 mm or less suitable for food for yellow corn and to develop a corn mill for 200 kg per hour. Detailed conditions for development are stipulated as more than 55% of the main product recovery rate, more than 31% of the by-product recovery rate, less than 5% of the raw material loss rate, and more than 80% of the embryo dislocation rate. In this study, to achieve this, the overall process of the corn mill was developed, and the optimal conditions for the corn mill were obtained through the development of parts and empirical tests to improve performance. In addition, it was intended to achieve the development goal by evaluating and analyzing the performance of each part so that it did not conflict.

        Although ethylformate and phosphine fumigants are widely used for pest quarantine, studies related to their mechanism of action and metabolic physiological changes in Drosophila models are still unclear. In this study, we investigated how key metabolites altered by fumigants and cold treatment are associated with and affect insect physiology by comparative metabolome analysis. Fumigant treatment significantly altered cytochrome P450 and glutathione metabolites involved in the detoxification mechanism and showed lower expression of PGF2α involved in the immune response compared to the control. Additionally, most of the metabolites functioned in metabolic pathways related to the biosynthesis of amino acids, nucleotides and cofactors.
