This study analyze the effects of cooperative activities between SME’s(Small and Medium Company’s). To research the empirical analysis, we divide type of cooperation into four dimensions such as technical cooperation, human resource cooperation, sales cooperation and finance cooperation. We examine the role of cooperation philosophy as precedence factor. In addition, this study analyze the relationship between cooperation philosophy, cooperation activities and performance. The finding of this study can be summarized as follows, First, the result of path analysis between cooperation philosophy and cooperation activities is that cooperation philosophy have significant effect on technical cooperation, human resource cooperation, sales cooperation and finance cooperation. Second, the result of relationship between cooperation activities and performance, technical cooperation, human resource cooperation, sales cooperation have significant effects on cooperation performance. In particular, the effect of haman resource cooperation is relatively high because cooperation through personnel exchanges is effective in the short-term performance. In addition, the implications of this study are presented as follows, First, this study analyze the empirical test by using PSBP Model in terms of partnership. Until now, many researcher analyze the relationship between big and small company, but we try to verify the relationship between small business company. So, we can present a beneficial implications to explain importance of cooperation activities between SME’s. Second, there is the problem of technical information disclosure issue when SME’s business unit have a partnership. To overcome this problem, we use cooperation philosophy and it can be escape the negative views.

In the Northern Hemisphere, northward shifts due to global warming are apparent in various organisms such as butterflies, birds, and plants. In South Korea, ranges of butterflies are expected to shift northwards. We tested whether distribution limits of Korean butterflies shift northwards. We used two Korean butterfly atlases (1938-1950, 1977-2011) for analysis of the range shifts. Northern limits of southern species moved significantly northward (ca. 60 km) for 50 years, whereas southern limits of northern species did not significantly move northwards nor southwards. This finding parallels with other studies on butterflies and birds in Europe and North America.

In this paper, quantitative and systematic procedures for establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of R&D departments are presented. The proposed methodology is composed of 4 steps : 1) identification of critical success factors, 2) identification of potential KPI’s, 3) determination of KPI’s and 4) monitoring and execution. A Strategy Map has been presented to better align KPI’s with a company’s competitive strategies. Also, Analytical Hierarchy Planning (AHP) is used to determine weights of KPI’s and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used to analyze the effectiveness of R&D departments. To demonstrate its validity of the proposed method, it has been applied to the R&D divisions of a semiconductor company.

It is expected that the successful nationwide reforestation and the increased temperature would greatly change butterfly fauna in South Korea. We compared current data (2002~2007) regarding abundance and presence of butterfly species at two sites in the central portion of the Korean Peninsula to data from late 1950s and early 1970s for the same sites. The expected changes were documented by abundance change of butterflies at two study sites in the previous study. Using the same data, the greatly changed species and the change of species presence were analyzed. Population changes of 99 butterfly species which occurred at both sites were significantly correlated between two sites. The greatly increased species included three Southern (S) species and one Northern (N) species. However, the greatly declined species included five N species and no S species. This change is coincided with the expectation from the northward movements of butterfly species due to global warming. The current status of the greatly changed species was discussed on the review with other studies. The binary data(presence/absence) in present study support the expected changes of butterfly species based on global warming and reforestation. The interactive effect of two environmental changes was also recognized as like the change of abundance in the previous study.

The impact of transgenic Bt maize plant contained Cry1F was evaluated on the oat aphid Rhopalosiphum padi as a non-target insect species. Slightly reduced rates of survival and alata vivipar production were observed on Bt maize than on the non-Bt maize. In addition, slightly low preference to Bt maize plant was observed. Aphid fecundity, measured as the number of offspring produced for 7 days, was higher on Bt maize than on non-Bt maize but not different significantly. ELISA test using Cry1F-antibody revealed that 26% of Cry1F protein compared to the positive control was detected from the whole body of R. padi when the insects were fed Bt maize for 50 days, showing that R. padi can carry Cry1F protein to the higher trophic level when exposed to Bt maize. Taken together, the Bt maize plant is not likely to cause any negative side impacts on non-target insect R. padi but Bt toxin can be transferred to higher predators via R. padi as it carries the toxin.

Large amounts of genetically modified (GM) grains, including maize, cotton and soybean, have been imported to Korea for food, feed and processing (FFP). To evaluatethe environmental impacts, particularly on non-target insects, of FFP GM grains of unknown source, it is a prerequisite to identify Cry protein types in the test GM grains and to establish proper risk assessment protocols. Imported GM maize grains were randomly obtained and their Cry toxins were analyzed by ELISA using Cry1A, Cry1F, and Cry3A antibodies. Since all tested GM maize grains contained Cry1A, Tenebrio molitor, a non-lepidopteran species, was selected as a non-target insect species. A domestic maize strain was used as a non-GM control, which did not show any differences in major nutritional composition from the GM maize grain. Slightly increased survival rate and head capsule width of T. molitor larvae were observed when reared on GM maize powder, demonstrating no sub-chronic adverse effects of GM maize on T. molitor larvae. Head capsule width of T. molitor neonate increased steadily from hatch to 70-day-old, regardless of being fed Bt or non-Bt maize. ELISA test using Cry1A-antibody revealed that concentration of Cry1A protein slowly increased in the whole body of T. molitor from 0 to 50 post-feeding days when the insects were fed GM maize but rapidly decreased within 5 days when Bt maize-fed larvae were transferred to non-Bt maize, showing that the Cry toxin is not accumulated inside the body of T. molitor once the exposure source is removed. In addition, no Cry protein was detected in the hemolymph of the larvae reared on Bt maize, suggesting little possibility of Cry toxin exposure to higher tropic level. Taken together, the imported GM-maize grains is not likely to cause any side impacts on non-target insect T. molitor.

Ant species were reported to have specific vertical distribution in high mountains in Korea. The vertical distribution was recognized in Hanla mountain being highest in South Korea using pitfall traps in 2006. This phenomena suggests that temperature may be a main factor for distribution of ant species, since 0.5~0.6℃ of temperature decrease per each 100 m of altitude. The present study was carried out to test this hypothesis. Ant communities were surveyed using pitfall traps (ten traps per each site) at 234 sites, which included 9 high mountains in South Korea. The vertical distribution of ant species were found in all the high mountains. Abundance data (probability of occurrence, %) of seventeen abundant ant species which occurred at more than 10% of the study sites were analyzed using multiples regression analysis with four independent factors such as temperature, precipitation, light intensity, and NDVI. As results of the regression analysis, temperature was most important in determining the abundance in 11 of 17 species. Light intensity was most important in 3 species, and precipitation in 1 species. In the 11 species being highly dependent on temperature, determination index (R2) of regression model with one factor of temperature was approximately 90% of determination index of the regression model with all four factors. On the base of dependence on temperature and of ecological characteristics (ground foraging), six species such as Paratrechina flavipes, Myrmica kotokui, Pachycondyla javana, Pristomyrmex pungens, Camponotus atrox, and Crematogaster osakensis were selected as bioindicator for global warming. In the bioindicator ant species, M. kotokui and C. atrox were predicted to decline in abundance and distribution in Korean peninsula as temperature increases, whereas other four species including P. flavipes, P. javana, P. pungens, C. osakensis were predicted to increase. Temperature-Distribution models were established in four most temperature-responsive species including P. flavipes, P. javana, P. pungens, and M. kotokui, and distribution maps of the species were made from the model. Reversely, temperature was estimated from ant data of five bioindicator species using regression model, of which R2 is 0.66.

In this paper we develop an efficient procedure for solving the tactical-level room allocation problem for hotel industry by incorporating other sources of revenue into overall Revenue Management (RM) system. To maximize profits and allocate wisely available resources, first, determine how different market segments contributed. And apply this to an efficient procedure for solving tactical-level room allocation problem for the hotel industry by combining the dynamic model for handling single-night reservation requests and the static model for handling multi-night reservation requests.
