Tortricinae is the one of three subfamilies (Tortricinae, Olethreutinae and Chlidanotinae) in the Tortricidae and widely distributed around the world. It has been divided into 11 tribes (Horak and brown, 1991). The subfamily can be distinguished from other subfamilies by the two rings of scale on each antenna segment, and the caulis articulated with the juxta by a short membrane. A total of 1010 named species are presenting in Palaearctic region (Razowski, 2008) including 382 species of six tribes are distributed in Europe (Razowski, 2003), more than 260 species were recorded from South East Asia (Robinson, Tuck and Shaffer, 1994). The fauna of Tortricinae in Vietnam is poorly known even some expeditions were previously done by some foreign entomologist. For Vietnamese entomologist, the first investigation on insect pest of agricultural crops was done by National Institute of Plant Protection (NIPP) in the period 1977-1978 and 1997-1998 with only seven Tortricidae species were recorded. In the year, 2000 Kuznetzov annotated a list of 208 tortricid species from Vietnam. Recently, more than 80 species of 31 genera belong to Tortricinae are announced from 2008 to 2009 by Razowski. Of them, 33 species were described as new to science from Vietnam. At present, the tortricid fauna of Vietnam is estimated approximately 315 species (Svetlana V. Nedoshivina, 2010). In this study we briefly reviewed of subfamily Tortricinae in Northern part of Vietnam. Totally, 28 species of 13 genera are recognized, but only 9 species were previously recorded. Besides, Some unidentified species are waiting for further study. The materials for identification are based on the collection of University of Incheon, which were collected from 2004-2010 in the Northern part of Vietnam by Vietnamese and Korean entomologist.

We reviewed the Korean species belonging to the Tribe Dendometrini. Of the previously recorded five species in Korea, Athousius humeralis (Miwa, 1927) and Limoniscus rufipennis (Lewis, 1894) are confirmed as the misidentification of Ampedus basalis (Mennerheim, 1852) and Corymbitodes sp., respectively. It is suggested to exclude these species in the Korean fauna. In addition, the records of Limonius eximius (Lewis, 1874) and Limoniscus vittatus (Candèze, 1873) are also questionable since no specimens available in this study. We actually examined three species throughout this study. Limoniscus kraatzi ((Candèze, 1879) is recognized as the mostly abundant species in the Korean fauna. A new species, Cidnopus nigronitidus sp. nov. and a new record of Limoius scutellaris (Dolin, 2003) comb. nov. are recognized in Korea.

As one of the subfamilies of Crambidae, Spilomelinae comprises about 3767 species in the world (Solis and Maes, 2002), and this subfamily is characterized by the following characteristics: Chaetosema absent, antenna filiform, labial palpus and proboscis well developed, forewing with R3 and R4 stalk at base, or R2, R3 and R4 stalked, but R5 single, 2A and 1A form a loop; hindwing Sc+R1 stalked with Rs; male genitalia with gnathos absent or rudimentary, but uncus well developed, shape various. Cambodia is a country that bordered by Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Gulf of Thailand in Southeast Asia. The total area is 181,035 km2. It is also a country with high biodiversity, of them, 212 mammal species, 536 bird species, 240 reptile species, 850 freshwater fish species, and 435 marine fish species, but only a few studies about the fauna of Lepidoptera there. Accordingly, to survey the diversity of Lepidoptera is of great significance for systematic study in Cambodia. In this research, we started our survey from 2009, up to now, we got numerous Pyraloidea from Cambodia, in this study, we identified 48 species belonging to 36 genera of Spilomelinae, most of them are reported for the first time in Cambodia, and some specimen could not be identified which we will report in future. All the materials examined come from the collection of University of Incheon.

Members of the non-biting midge family Chironomidae are the most widespread and abundant group of aquatic insects in fresh waters. Although the composition of chironomid communities is considered to be a potential biotic index for water quality assessment, it has not been used easily because of the difficulties with species level identification for larvae. This study was to analyse the molecular operational taxonomic units (MOTU) in chironomid communities to appropriately apply a species level identification. A total of 41 chironomid larvae collected from 7 sampling sites in the Han river system according to water quality were used for analyses. Partial mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) genes were sequenced and analyzed. As a result, 35 different haplotypes (MOTU01-13) were obtained from the 673bp COI sequences. Average genetic distance was 0.0041 (range 0.000 to 0.013) within the MOTU and was 0.1703 (range 0.1181 to 0.2456) between the MOTUs. Nine MOTUs were found at the stream sites represented water quality A, 2 MOTUs at water quality C, and 1 MOTU at water quality D.

Genus Spilonota is a small group of the family Tortricidae, including over 29 described species worldwide (Brown, 2005). Most larvae of the genus feed on various plant families including Pinaceae, Rosaceae, Leguminosae, Betulaceae, Salicaceae, and Juglandaceae, with economical importance (Park, 1983, Zhang & Li, 2005). Even though this genus has been relatively well investigated in East Asia: five species from South Korea (Byun et al., 2009); ten species from China (Zhang & Li, 2005); eight species from Russian Far East (Kuznetsov, 2001); thirteen species including four unidentified species from Japan (Kawabe, 1982, Oku, 2003), it has been very poorly studied from North Korea with only two recorded species to date (Razowski, 1999, Byun et al., 2009) The aim of the present study is to clarify the fauna of the genus Spilonota from North Korea, including two new records, based on the material deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, Hungary (HNHM). In the present study, the author examined all available material from North Korea. In this study, four species of Spilonota are recognized. Among them, two species, Spilonota lechriaspis Meyrick, 1932 and Spilonota ocellana (Denis et Schiffermüller, 1775), are reported for the first time from North Korea. A key to the species is provided. Photos of adults and the genitalia are provided with brief comments on the distribution.

Korean species of the dragonfly family Gomphidae are reviewed based on a comprehensive specimen examination. The family can be easily recognized by separated compound eyes, yellowish body color, and similar features of triangle cells on fore- and hindwings. Since a report of 4 Korean species (Seiboldius japonicus, Gomphus melampus, G. postocularis, Gomphus sp.) of the family by Doi (1932), 18 species belonging to 13 genera were recorded by Lee (2006). In this study, we added 5 species and reviewed 23 species of Korean Gomphidae. Identification key and taxonomic remarks were provide: Asiagomphus pryeri is recorded for the first time in South Korea; 3 North Korean species in the genus Davidius are added; Gomphus postocularis is treated as subspecies Shaogomphus postocularis epophthalmus; larval stage of Burmagomphus KUa is identified as Burmagomphus collaris; Ophiogomphus forficula is the synonym of O. obscurus not O. reductus.

The tribe Oxyptilini Bigot et al. 1998 (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae) consists of fifteen genera with more than 100 species worldwide. Almost half of them are mainly distributed in Palaeartic Region, others are in Afrotropical, Oriental, and Nearctic regions, and less than 10 species are in Australiasian, Neotropical, and Pacific regions (Gielis 2003). Nevertheless, it has been poorly known in the Asian part of Palaeartic region, with five species in Japan (Yano 1963), two species in Russia (Sinev 2008), and one species in China (Li et al. 2003). In Korea, only one species, Stenodacma pyrrhodes (Meyrick 1889), has been reported from North Korea (Arenberger 1991). During this study, four genera (Capperia Tutt, Oxyptilus Zeller, Procapperia Adamczewski, and Tomotilus Yano), are recognized for the first time from Korea, and a new generic combination of Tomotilus celebrates (Merick 1932), comb. nov., is proposed.

Three types of leaf domatia; Pocket (P), Tufts (T) and Tufts-Pocket (TP) were observed in the five species of Cornus namely; Cornus kousa, C. controversa, C. officinalis, C. walteri and C. alba. In C. walteri no tufts were observed, the domatia was just a well developed pocket one. In C. officinalis and C. kousa, tufts domatia of brownish color were observed but C. officinalis developed denser tufts than those observed in C. kousa. Unlike in C. kousa where the domatia covered about only ½ of the axil, in the C. officinalis tufts covered almost ¾ of the axil. In both species the tufts domatia were located in the inner side of the leaf axil. In C. controversa and C. alba whitish colored tufts were observed covering Pockets and hence the Tuft‐Pocket domatia. In C. controversa the tufts were more than in C. alba but in both species the tufts were short and were located in the inner sides of the axil. Thus, based on these physiological features it was concluded that C. officinalis and C. kousa are sister species likewise C. controversa and C. alba while C. walteri belong to another lineage. The advancement of domatia (absence of tufts) in C. walteri suggests that they are the most advanced while C. officinalis and C. kousa the most primitive due to their possession of highly developed tufts and C. controversa and C. alba the intermediates.
