        The balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorum) has been used as food material and traditional medicine in Asia. Using 1,603 valid patents from 6 countries, we analyzed the patent trend based on year, countries, applicants, and technology. The technologies are categorized into 6 groups which include material, additives, manufacture, cultivation, breeding and seed. The technology competitiveness of countries were analyzed with quantitative factors such as cites per patent, patent impact index, patent family size and technology strength. In comparison with other countries in the patent index, South Korea shows an increasing trend in patent numbers and total leverage ability, although the individual technology is lower than Japan and USA. Our study provides information on technical trend to support the performance of new projects on balloon flower.

        최근 기술융합의 핵심현상으로 사물인터넷이 대두되면서 사물인터넷의 기술트 렌드 및 기술융합에 관해 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기존 연구들의 대부분이 사물인터넷 기술 동향에 대한 정성적 연구에 그치고 있어 기술융합의 구체적 양상을 파악하기 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 특허 데이터를 기술의 대용데이터로 간주하고, 동시 분류분석과 텍스트마이닝을 바탕으로 사물인터넷 융합 네트워크를 구축하고 융합의 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 사물인터넷의 융합을 일으키는 주요 기술 군을 디바이스, 네트워크, 플랫폼, 서비스 네 가지로 정의한 후, “Internet of Things” 키워드 를 중심으로 미국 특허청에서 수집된 923개 특허의 클래스를 네 가지 기술군에 할당하여 이 들 간 관계를 파악하였다. 대부분의 클래스 및 키워드가 디바이스에 관련되어 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 융합 현상을 디바이스 융합과 전체 융합으로 나누어 기술융합 양상을 파악하였다. 디바이스 중심의 사물인터넷 기술을 분석한 결과 센서 디바이스를 비롯한 헬스케어 디바 이스, 냉장 및 냉동 장치, 에너지관리 디바이스, 로봇, 임베디드 등이 주요 융합 그룹으로 도 출되었다. 전체 기술을 대상으로 분석한 결과 사물인터넷 요소기술을 중심으로 스마트 헬스 케어, 스마트 홈, 무인자동차 등 사물인터넷의 다양한 응용영역들이 기술융합을 이루고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구 결과는 사물인터넷 기술융합 활성화를 위한 정책 및 전략 수립 에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        The objective of this study is to investigate patent trends of Daegu city which tries to introduce environment friendly energy and to develop new technology or new industry sprung from technology convergence on smart decentralized energy technology and other technologies. After applying network analysis to corresponding groups of technology or industry convergence, strategy for future energy convergence industry is provided. Patent data applied in Daegu city area are used to obtain research goal. The technology which contains several IPC codes (IPC Co-occurrence) is considered as a convergence technology. Path finder network analysis is used for visualizing and grouping by using IPC codes. The analysis results categorized 13 groups in energy convergence industry and reclassified them into 3 cluster groups (Smart Energy Product Production Technology Group, Smart Energy Convergence Supply Technology Group, Smart Energy Indirect Application Technology Group) considering the technical characteristics and policy direction. Also, energy industry has evolved rapidly by technological convergence with other industries. Especially, it has been converged with IT industry, and there is a trend that energy industry will be converged with service industry and manufacturing industry such as textile, automobile parts, mechanics, and logistics by employing infrastructure as well as network. Based on the research results on core patent technology, convergence technology and inter-industry analysis, the direction of core technology research and development as well as evolution on decentralized energy industry is identified. By using research design and methodology in this study, the trend of convergence technology is investigated based on objective data (patent data). Above all, we can easily confirm the core technology in the local industry by analyzing the industrial competitiveness in the macro level. Based on this, we can identify convergence industry and technology by performing the technological convergence analysis in the micro level. 1

        The basic instrument for oral hygiene is toothbrush. Many patents that are announced to enhance efficiency and convenience by changing shape and using new material. There are also patents regarding its various functions. This study, the purpose of study, was surveyed the toothbrush patents from 2005 to 2014. The patent search was done in site 'kipris' using keyword ‘toothbrush’. Among sorts of administrative measure, enrollment and extinction patents was searched, followed by classified patents into its shape, materials, function and electronic toothbrush. For the patents with function, detailed analysis was done. Total numbers of toothbrush patents decreased in 2006 to 2008, lowest in 2008, and steadily increased to 2014. The patents regarding shape was outnumbered material. Shape and material patents could be divided by handle portion and head portion patents, which patents of head portion is more than handle portion. The patents of function could be classified into certain situation or combinate functions to its natural function. Function patents increase with the ratio of total patents. For brush patents, they have a tendence of increase. In addition, from a shape and function, toothbrush patents going to be more variable. It choose small quantity batch production. From a shape of toothbrush, patents regarding head portion are going to increase. And it has a tendency to change the shape rather than the development of materials for efficiency of toothbrushing. Electronic toothbrush will be placed certain position, however, conventional toothbrush also will place large portion by estimating patent number and there be more progressive. Some patents will catch popularity like combination of brush and paste, replacement of brush head, attraction for toothbrushing, and hygiene tooth brush. Also disposable toothbrush and portable toothbrush are getting popularity along with social phenomenon.

        Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) is one of the II-VI semiconducting materials, having novel fundamental properties and diverse areas of application such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), electroluminescence, flat panel displays, infrared windows, catalyst, chemical sensors, biosensors, lasers and biodevices, etc. However, despite the remarkable versatility and prospective potential of ZnS, research and development (R&D) into its applications has not been performed in much detail relative to research into other inorganic semiconductors. In this study, based on global patent information, we analyzed recent technical trends and the current status of R&D into ZnS applications. Furthermore, we provided new technical insight into ZnS applicable fields using in-depth analysis. Especially, this report suggests that ZnS, due to its infrared-transmitting optical property, is a promising material in astronomy and military fields for lenses of infrared systems. The patent information analysis in this report will be utilized in the process of identifying the current positioning of technology and the direction of future R&D.

        As recognized by all scientific and industrial groups, carbon dioxide(CO2) capture and storage(CCS) could play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Especially carbon capture technology by dry sorbent is considered as a most energy-efficient method among the existing CCS technologies. Patent analysis has been considered to be a necessary step for identifying technological trend and planning technology strategies. This paper is aimed at identifying evolving technology trend and key indicators of dry sorbent from the objective information of patents. And technology map of key patents is also presented. In this study the patents applied in korea, japan, china, canada, US, EU from 1993 to 2013 are analyzed. The result of patent analysis could be used for R&D and policy making of domestic CCS industry.

        Technology-oriented national R&D programs produce intellectual property as their final result. Patents, as typical industrial intellectual property, are therefore considered an important factor when evaluating the outcome of R&D programs. Among the main components of patent evaluation, in particular, the patent right quality is a key component constituting patent value, together with marketability and usability. Current approaches for patent right quality evaluation rely mostly on intrinsic knowledge of patent attorneys, and the recent rapid increase of national R&D patents is making expert-based evaluation costly and time-consuming. Therefore, this study defines a hierarchy of patent right quality and then proposes how to quantify the evaluation process of patent right quality by combining text mining and regression analysis. This study will contribute to understanding of the systemic view of the patent right quality evaluation, as well as be an efficient aid for evaluating patents in R&D program assessment processes.

        기존의 기술 진화 경로 연구는 주로 거시적 동향 분석 수준에서 이루어져 왔으 며 포괄적인 기술정책 방향 수립에는 시사점이 있었으나, 기업 기술 및 특허전략에는 활용 가치가 낮았다. 2000년대부터 논문 및 특허 등의 데이터를 활용해 미시적인 기술의 진화 경 로를 분석하고, 기업 기술전략에 적용하려는 연구가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 대부분 과거 진 화 경로의 서술에 그치고 있으며 기술의 진화 또는 파생-융합 등의 변화에 대한 분석은 전문 가의 정성적 판단에 상당부분 의존하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 특허 인용 네트워크를 구축해 미시적 기술의 진화 경로를 도출하고, 기술의 진화와 파생을 동적 기술트리를 통해 분석하는 방법론을 제시한다. 동적 기술트리 분석은 기술의 핵심요소를 체계화하고, 신기술 요소의 신 규성과 확장성을 평가해 차세대 기술진화와 파생에 대한 정량적 판단을 가능하게 한다. 이를 통해 차세대 신기술과 파생기술에 대하여 파악, 평가, 비교하고 나아가 예측의 토대를 구축 한 것이 본 연구의 의의이다. 본 연구의 결과는 기술 및 특허전략과 포트폴리오 구축의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있는 좋은 도구가 될 것이다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방법론을 이용하여 최근 전력 산업에서 기존 교류 송전의 대안으로 주목을 받고 있는 초고압 직류송전 시스템 기술을 대상 으로 실증분석을 수행하였다.

        본 연구에서는 국가연구개발사업의 성과물로서 창출되는 특허정보의 거시적ㆍ미시적 분석을 통해 기술혁신 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 특허성과의 기술군별 비중을 분석한 결과 국가연구개발사업이 IT계열 기술군으로 편중된 것으로 나타났다. 기술군별 상대적인용도지수(RCI)의 분석은 향후 BT계열 기술군이 부상할 것임을 시사하였다. 또한 상대적시장확보지수(RFI)는 BT계열 및 IT계열과 같은 기술적 파급이 큰 기술군에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 기술 융ㆍ복합화, 연구개발 주체 간의 협력-개방 관계에 대한 신규지표를 설계하고, 네트워크 분석 기법을 활용하여 기술군 사이의 흡수-파생 관계, 연구개발주체 간의 협력-개방 관계를 분석하였다. 이종기술간 기술 융ㆍ복합화가 증가하고 있으며, 상이한 연구개발주체들 사이의 연구개발 협력성과가 급증하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

        This study analyzes patent trends regarding farming-related technologies such as breeding or nursery technology, production systems, and new cultivation methods in order to provide objective patent information about the trends of R&D on marine products’proliferation or farming. Presently, in Korea, we try to secure marine living resources through the formation of artificial resources instead of environmental improvement policy or resource management policy. However, this is not about eliminating the causes of marine environment destruction but just the policy for improvement, so it is needed to revise the related policy with more ultimate measures. And it is necessary to develop technology that can secure the rights by integrating patent application strategies from the stage of R&D for medicine that can be utilized in chief farming countries and provide intensive support for the research centering around strategic varieties for farming in each region as well as strategic national farming varieties afterwards. Also, the analysis shows that it is urgent to make applications overseas based on domestic applications in order to develop technology that can be commercialized in not just Korean but overseas market as well.

        This study suggests new approach to identify core technologies through patent analysis. Specially, the approach applied data mining technique and multi-criteria decision making method to the co-classification information of registered patents. First, technological interrelationship matrices of intensity, relatedness, and cross-impact perspectives are constructed with support, lift and confidence values calculated by conducting an association rule mining on the co-classification information of patent data. Second, the analytic network process is applied to the constructed technological interrelationship matrices in order to produce the importance values of technologies from each perspective. Finally, data envelopment analysis is employed to the derived importance values in order to identify priorities of technologies, putting three perspectives together. It is expected that suggested approach could help technology planners to formulate strategy and policy for technological innovation.

This patent search process consists of 5 steps. We result that at first this process obtain the core patent search key words and search the target patents through search formula using the combination of above patent search key words.

        디지털 기술의 발달로 세계가 정보 및 지식이 주도하는 사회로 급변하고, 지식 재산권의 발전이 급속하게 진행되면서, 각 기업 및 국가들은 그들의 경쟁력을 키우기 위해 지식재산권에 대한 중요성을 강조하고 있다. 이와 같이 지식재산권의 중요성이 강조되는 현실에서 지식재산권의 확보는 기업의 경쟁력을 좌우하는 요소라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 빅데이터 분석 도구인 R을 이용하여 빠른 시간 안에 사용자가 목적으로 하고 있는 특허검색 결과를 효율적으로 도출할 수 있는 검색어 추출에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 다섯 단계의 특허 검색 프로세스를 제안하였고 프로그램으로 구현하여 검색목적에 맞는 특허의 검색에 필요한 시간을 대폭 단축시키면서 목표로 하는 특허 검색을 효율적으로 할 수 있었다.

        The misuse case in the narrow sense is more likely to emerge in patent area than in copyright area. In fact, a recent case is easily found where a patent misuse activity got the penalty of Korean antitrust law even though such sanction was not related to Korean Civil Act. But almost all the civil cases since 2000Da69194 decision in Korean courts where patent misuse was recognized are no more than a blind following of the Japanese decision in the Kilby case. The recent Supreme Court Grand Bench Decision (2010Da95390) consolidated such a trend rather than redressed the problem.The misuse doctrine in this type of cases is just an artificial tool to block the enforcement of a registered patent which has inherently a ground for invalidation based on obviousness, without declaring the invalidity of the patent. However, this is hard to be treated as a true misuse of patent. In related practice, Korean courts have handled well so far the weakness of so-called two linear system dealing with patent dispute at least about novelty issue, without depending on the above artificial tool. In other words, with the help of plausible theories such as ‘exclusion of prior art’ principle, Korean courts have consistently denied validity of the related part in a registered patent even prior to declaratory judgment by Korea Intellectual Property Office. Therefore, it is possible for any Korean court to plainly recognize invalidity of a patent based on non-obviousness issue in a patent infringement litigation, by adopting the same approach. This approach is more appropriate than the other ambiguous compromise using the misuse doctrine just as a artificial tool. In addition, there should be harmonization of contradiction between 2010Da95390 decision and the other precedents adopting ‘exclusion of prior art’principle especially about which legal effect should follow such judgment.

        In this paper, patent trend on the rapid prototyping technologies is analyzed. The results show that USA has the most patents, the largest citations, and the highest CPP(Citations Per Patent) at the rapid prototyping field, and that 3D SYSTEM in USA has the most patent filings among the whole world company. and STRATASYS in USA is ranked with the highest CPP representing a technology impact in that field. It is shown that molding or bonding technology of plastic is occupied 31% by International Patent Classification Index(IPC).

        사용후핵연료의 파이로처리기술에 대한 국내외 특허동향을 분석하였다. 1975-2009년에 걸쳐 한국, 미국, 일 본 및 유럽연합에서 출원된 특허에 대하여 출원국별, 출원인별, 연도별 및 세부기술분야별로 구분하여 그 내 용을 비교함으로써 파이로처리기술 개발 현황을 분석하였다. 그리고 주요 출원인의 세부기술별 특허활동지수 로부터 특정분야의 기술개발 편중도, 분석대상 특허의 피인용횟수와 패밀리수로부터 각국의 기술 경쟁력을 조사하였다. 또 장차 파이로처리기술의 실용화에 대비하여 필수 요소기술들을 도출하고 그에 대한 현기술 수 준과 기술개발동향 등을 파악하였다.
