        There are general surveys on factors related to Life Satisfaction. However, less is known about the relationships between Life Satisfaction, personality, Social Capital, and Adaptive Game Use. This study sought to clarify several of these relationships. Using data from a survey of 981 game users in South Korea, we conducted a regression analysis to explore the association between psychological variables(Personality), social variables(Bonding Social Capital and Bridge Social Capital), Media Using Pattern(Adaptive Game Use) and demographic variables(Age and Gender). Results showed that Openness·Conscientiousness(Personality), Bonding(Social Capital), and Adaptive Game Use increase Life Satisfaction while Neuroticism·Agreeable(Personality) decrease Life Satisfaction. The implications of these results are discussed.

        Although various studies have dealt with gambling games so far, studies on the motives of the teenager’s gambling games are still very weak. Youths experiencing gambling games have various problems like psychiatric problems like learning problem and anxiety and depression, problem in their family and problems like increase of lie, etc. To establish a prediction and a measure of this problem fundamentally, the study on why the youth joins in these gambling games is needed. The factorial experiment and reliability analysis was done in order to investigate the validity of the questionnaire and reliability. This study also use Pearson Correlation Model and Linear Regression Analysis. Consequently, external factors such as school adaptation and parental monitoring can have a greater impact than internal factors in the motives of the teenager’s gambling games. This study will contribute to prevent youth from accessing the Internet gambling games and to solute the problem from it.

        Followed by the popularization of 3D TV, technical efforts to develop hologram TVs, known as real 3D displays, are being continuously made. However, the commercialization of hologram TV is taking a very long time due to the enormous difficulties in its appropriate technical realization. Nevertheless, several new services deploying the technology to produce hologram-like effect, instead of real hologram, have emerged. In this paper, as one such service, a game service with realistic holographic-like effect is proposed. This service utilizes head-tracked autostereoscopic technology with 360 degree panoramic video and can be delivered on IPTV. It will provide the possibility of employing the pseudo holographic technology as an immersive realistic game service in living room TV environments.

        This paper presents a Cocos2d-x-based mobile game using a twisted GFSR-PRNG (Generalized Feedback Shift Register - Pseudo-Random Number Generator), known as the Mersenne Twister, with a super astronomical cycle of 219937 - 1, and good virtual randomness in up to 623 dimensions, to deal with random factors for use on Android. Especially, if there are several rand() function calls at the same time, when a user plays the game, the dots do not fit. The Cocos2d-x-based mobile game shows the Mersenne Twister MT19937 is suitable and much faster than rand(). In addition, anyone who has a smart phone can easily install the game and play it. In this game, the player controls his or her own aircraft to destroy the enemy while avoiding obstacles. One key point of this game is that various effects are assigned to each image frame. Moreover, this game is special because it allows the player to produce something called small boss mobs and large boss mobs, providing various types of attached projectiles, upgrading to 10 stages in total and enemies that appear accordingly, and giving items that burst out laughing during the game.

        Many researches have been performed on eye tracking technology and its major researches include mobile UI measurement, navigation, internet web measurement, measurement of TV concentration. However, a research on evaluating concentration of mobile gamer has not been performed so far. In this study, a possibility of being able to provide mobile game designer with data for concentration measurement was verified by measuring concentration of mobile gamer based on GazePlot, HeatMap, Cluster by utilizing eye tracking technology. In addition, based on the result of measuring eye tracking experiment, several advantages for objectivity, differentiation and complementarities of eye tracking technology were suggested. In order to measure suggested experiment result, an experiment was performed by using eye tracking system software (Tobii Mobile Device Stand for 2x2) and data, graph that could be utilized as reference data at the time of game development in the future were presented by identifying concentrated part and not concentrated part in playing a game after measuring concentration by each age group.

        This study aims to examine what factors affect the use of promotion advertisement of Social Network Game(SNG). The results show that the user's age has significant impact on privacy concern. The user's sex and SNG time don't make a difference to privacy concern. Privacy concern has an influence on the advertising attitude of SNG user's. As user had more privacy concern, user has lower attention and credibility, higher annoyingness. User's perception for usefulness, credibility of mobile game advertising and SNG time are proved to be effective factors on the use of SNG promotion advertisement.

        With the rapid growth of the ultra-high-definition (UHD) TV market, immersive technology and applications designed for living room TV environments have become increasingly popular. Therefore, realistic and immersive games are expanding further into next-generation game platforms based on smart TV technology. This paper proposes a technique to integrate 360-degree panoramic video and Internet protocol television (IPTV) systems to create realistic and immersive game services. Three hundred sixty-degree panoramic video is one of the most effective means of providing the immersive perception and reality of first-person free-viewpoints in virtual reality systems. This approach increases immersion into virtual reality space while reducing client loads.

        This study intends to propose a non-oriented DEA based game cross-efficiency approach for supplier selection. With a discussion on the choice of DEA models and approaches that are most appropriate for supplier selection, we propose a game cross efficiency model based upon the non-oriented variable returns-to-scale RAM DEA by adapting the existing game cross efficiency model based upon the oriented constant returns-to-scale CCR DEA. We develop the RAM game cross efficiency model and a convergent iterative solution procedure to find the best game cross efficiency scores that constitute a Nash equilibrium. We illustrate the proposed model with two data sets of supplier selection, and demonstrate that significantly different results are obtained when compared with the existing approaches.

        The current study examined whether and how players’ aggression is affected by playing games focused on Intrapersonal level of player. In contrast to most existing studies, our study asks about crucial underlying factors among the general game population and thereby investigates mental health belief, interdependent and independent self-construal, game-efficacy, loneliness, depression, gender and age. Results show that mental health belief is particularly important to the players because their aggressive tendencies are greatly diminished. Independent self-construal and game efficacy reduced the levels of players’ aggression. Interestingly, both depression and loneliness decreased the levels of players’ aggression. Results and implications are discussed.

        How to measure and evaluate the performance of managing a store? Although it is important for a retailer to execute good management in a store, there are few efficient measurement tools and methods for In-store management. Also few people are trying to deal with variety of goods (number of categories), depth of a catagory (number of stock-keeping units within a category), and stock level (the number of individual items of a particular SKU) in a store. To solve the problem, this paper suggests the Customer-Retailer Collaboration (CRC) model that utilizes Gamification. By embedding gaming elements, the store management activities can be viewed as more game-like processes. Customers find some problems they encountered in the store and send the related signals via mobile APP, and the relevant store personnel copes with the signals. As the return for their collaboration, they both will obtain points and badge. This paper designs the CRC model and shows the flow of the model briefly.

        Recently, education game contents with advanced mobile and Web technology have been widely researched. However, considering of interaction involved for children, it is necessary user friendly interfaces and interesting interactions. In addition, it is important to design to encourage the user’s learning motivation as a way to the effect of educational game contents. Therefore, in this study, we designed and implemented the educational game contents system using inter-working between KINECT camera, PC, and android platform based humanoid robot. The designed system consisted of KINECT system for capturing hand gestures, game contents system for playing games, and android humanoid robot system for interacting with users. This system can lead to interests and willingness of users through handy interaction such as hand gestures and interesting quiz game contents. To improve effectiveness and userability, we plant to advance designed educational game contents system that can be operated on a smart TV system including a built-in camera as a further study.

        The market of the smartphone game has been changed rapidly which can be seen in the online PC game, ‘SNG’ and became popular among the game lovers. In the same way, ‘Kakaotalk’ has also been appeared suddenly. Therefore, in this research work, we figured out the exploratory factors that affect the intention of use of smartphone users and these effects can help future works on games to those who are doing research on it. In our research method, we reviewed the preceding related researches about the intension of use of smartphone users. Based on these researches, we have extracted factors for suggesting research model and then verified the hypothesis with actual analysis to find out which factors are affecting the intention of use of smartphone game users. The factor and reliability analysis have done in order to examine the validity and reliability of the questionnaires used in this work. As the result, popular genre, character, sequence of hit etc. are affected positively on intention of use of smartphone game users but there are no meaningful effects of game developers. Due to such research, it can be helped to the related game developing academic and industries researchers on intention of use of smartphone games users.

        This paper proposes a interactive game contents based on assembled puzzle for the purpose of IoT(Internet of Things) applications. It not only assemble a puzzle but also enjoy a game contents with assembled puzzle using M2M(Machine-to-Machine) to IoT(Internet of Things). It can early children become curious and gets immersion. Additionally, we developed interactive game contents which have been added function of visual and auditory to be effect on education to users. In this paper, this research will provide information for the development of interactive game contents using IoT. Thereby be achieved through convergence with other things, the functional effect of the interactive game provide the understanding of the new trends.

        This study employed the eye-tracking method to investigate the nature of game players' visual attention on the game's GUI(graphic user interface) elements during game play. The genre of the game (shooting and driving games), the points of view of the game (1st person vs. 3rd person POV), and the game player's proficiency were taken into account to examine their effects on the game player's visual attention. A within-between subject experimental study was conducted (N=26). The results illustrate that the game genre was not a meaningful predictor for neither the frequency or the total duration of visual element per interface element. The point of view had a significant main effect on the game player's frequent change of their eye movement across different elements. The proficiency of game player's gaming skill significantly altered the game player's frequency and duration of visual attention. Proficient gamers were more efficient in distributing their visual attention across various elements of the GUI.

        ADHD(Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common disorder of childhood, which exhibits symptoms of hyperactivity, impulse, having difficulty in concentrating, and being easily distracted. These symptoms lead many difficulties in childhood if left untreated, and last in adolescence and adulthood in some cases. This paper analyzes serious game technology based on BCI for ADHD treatment. BCI technology is implemented by acquiring EEG via device and sending commands into input-output device by signal processing. In order to apply serious games based on BCI, it requires building a database with relevant resources of analysis and study of ADHD infants and children behavioral patterns first. Based on it, it is suggested to design and develop serious games that are well balanced in fun elements and functional elements on the consideration of levels of difficulties.

        본 연구는 기존의 게임에 대한 전반적인 부정적 인식에서 벗어나 긍정적인 측면에서 스마트폰 게임을 살펴볼 필요성이 있다고 판단하여 심리적인 측면에서 스마트폰 게임 이용동기와 게임특성이 게임몰입에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 주요 결과를 제시하면, 스마트폰 게임 이용동기는 현실도피, 기분전환, 즐거움, 몰입, 성취 등으로 나타났고, 이 중 현실도피를 제외한 기분전환, 즐거움, 몰입, 성취가 스마트폰 게임몰입에 유의미한 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 스마트폰 게임 이용자들이 기분전환, 즐거움, 몰입, 성취동기를 추구할수록 게임몰입도 높아지는 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 둘째, 스마트폰 게임특성 중 게임구성, 조작용이성을 제외하고 게임의 생동감은 게임몰입에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 스마트폰 이용자들이 게임을 통해 생동감을 높게 지각할수록 게임몰입이 높아지는 것으로 평가된다. 이상과 같은 결과를 통해 몰입 자체가 건전한 심리작용이고, 스트레스를 해소하거나 여가시간을 즐겁게 보내는데 일정 부분 기여함을 전제로 한다면, 스마트폰 게임 이용이 스트레스를 해소하고 여가시간을 보다 즐겁고 재미있게 보내는데 있어 긍정적으로 작용할 수 있을 것이다. 나아가 일정부분 여가문화 차원으로 활용할 수 있음을 시사한다.

        Attempts to hack online game servers and abusing problems in online games have been issues in game industry. Mobile games are famous these days thanks to the widespread of smart devices. Unfortunately, mobile games have very short life cycle. Therefore, analysis of game log data becomes more important to overcome the hacking and abusing problems in online games and extend their life cycles in mobile games. In this paper, we propose a new game log data analysis technique based on the MapReduce methodology. MapReduce is a widely used programming model for analyzing and processing Big data. Instead of processing each analysis query separately, the proposed technique processes multiple analysis queries together in a batch by a single, optimized MapReduce job. As a result, the number of queries processed per unit time increases significantly. Experiment results show that the proposed technique improves the performance significantly compared to a naive method.

        Digital dementia becomes an issue these days which causes failure of one’s memory and calculation ability because many people rely heavily on digital devices, such as smart phones. Smart devices themselves become smarter and smarter whereas digital device users become dumber and dumber, and finally they are suffering from digital dementia. Serious games can be defined as games which combine entertainments with various applications. They relieve the negative opinions which belong to existing games, so many game titles have been released as serious games in these days. This research is motivated by the fact that serious games were originated to overcome practical issues. In this paper, a serious game is presented to prevent digital dementia and its effectiveness is shown. The proposed serious game is composed of simple four fundamental arithmetic operations which improve one’s calculation ability. Since simple arithmetic operations are familiar regardless of one’s age, they are chosen. Everyone can enjoy the game beause random factors are added. This paper concludes that serious games can be used to prevent digital dementia very effectively.

        The 2013 Korean Gaming White Paper suggested that the mobile gaming market has a potential for the future value realization. The market of mobile games exploded by 89.1% compared to 2011 and the market share almost doubled. With higher infiltration and performance enhancement of the mobile devices, accompanied by the growth in the mobile advertisement market, fueled the development of the relevant infrastructure and the business model, which is the basis of our anticipation on the gaming industry to grow further. Unlike the weight it carries in our society, the literatures in the field of mobile games are scarce, which is why we conducted this study. In this study, we will focus on the characterizing factors of the mobile game and their relationship with immersion in order to identify with proofs the intent of their users for continued, repeated usage of the mobile games using statistical methods. The purpose of this study is to identify the characterizing factors of the mobile games that affect the intent for repeated usage and immersion, with a view to contribute to the development of the mobile games and the mobile gaming industry. The result of the evidentiary analysis revealed that the internal and external factors of the mobile games did have positive impacts on immersion into them, and the immersion into the game positively affected the intent for repeated usage. In addition, we examined the differences between genders in terms of the influence from the characterizing factors onto immersion, which revealed statistically significant differences between the genders and was reflected in our consideration on the implication of this study.

        The matching system of online games is important factor that determines enjoy the game with others and defines the features of the online game itself. In this regard, Regulation to force the random matching of Web-based board game that has recently been made in Korea, have some problems in terms of both the development and use. First of all, regulation directly to the matching method, shall preclude the development of a creative matching system in social game environment . In addition, the antipathy of fun and discomfort of the game use is a concern in the position of the user. Games for direct regulation affecting the development and use as much considering it prudent approach is required.
