        Recently, the demand for reliability verification is increasing while designing and manufacturing molds using injection molding computer aided engineering(CAE). When performing flow analysis verification, a spiral mold is produced and compared with CAE. Because of the spiral shape, we needed a comparative evaluation with the flow distance of products with different forms. So, we compared the weight and flowed length using CAE. Variables are the change in the width of the spiral shape and the shape of the bar and plate. When the width of the spiral shape is 23mm rather than 15mm, the flow distance flows 30∼70mm more, with a maximum difference of 13%. As a result of comparing the spiral shape and the long square shape with the same width, the spiral shape had a flow distance of 60 to 105mm further, and a difference of up to 28% was found. As a result of comparing the plate shape and the spiral shape with a 15mm width product, the spiral shape has a flow distance of 310∼380mm further, and a difference of up to 82% is different.

        Continuous synthesis of high-crystalline carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is achieved by reconfiguring the injection part in the reactor that is used in the floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition (FC-CVD) process. The degree of gas mixing is divided into three cases by adjusting the configuration of the injection part: Case 1: most-delayed gas mixing (reference experiment), Case 2: earlier gas mixing than Case 1, Case 3: earliest gas mixing. The optimal synthesis condition is obtained using design of experiment (DOE) in the design of Case 1, and then is applied to the other cases to compare the synthesis results. In all cases, the experiments are performed by varying the timing of gas mixing while keeping the synthesis conditions constant. Production rate (Case 1: 0.63 mg/min, Case 2: 0.68 mg/min, Case 3: 1.29 mg/min) and carbon content (Case 1: 39.6 wt%, Case 2: 57.1 wt%, Case 3: 71.6 wt%) increase as the gas-mixing level increases. The amount of by-products decreases stepwise as the gas-mixing level increases. The IG/ID ratio increases by a factor of 7 from 10.3 (Case 1) to 71.7 (Case 3) as the gas-mixing level increases; a high ratio indicates high-crystalline CNTs. The radial breathing mode (RBM) peak of Raman spectrograph is the narrowest and sharpest in Case 3; this result suggests that the diameter of the synthesized CNTs is the most uniform in Case 3. This study demonstrates the importance of configuration of the injection part of the reactor for CNT synthesis using FC-CVD.

        The bone cement used for vertebroplasty must be sufficiently injectable. The introduction of granules reduces the amount of liquid required for liquefaction, implying that higher fluidity is achieved with the same amount of liquid. By employing β-tricalcium phosphate granules with an average diameter of 50 μm, changes in injectability are observed based on the paste preparation route and granular fraction. To obtain acceptable injectability, phase separation must be suppressed during injection, and sufficient capillary pressure to combine powder and liquid must work evenly throughout the paste. To achieve this, the granules should be evenly distributed. Reduced injection rates are observed for dry mixing and excessive granular content, owing to phase separation. All these correspond to conditions under which the clustered granules weakened the capillary pressure. The injected ratio of the paste formed by wet mixing displayed an inverted U-type shift with the granular fraction. The mixture of granules and powder resulted in an increase in the solid volume fraction, and a decrease in the liquid limit. This resulted in the enhancement of the liquidity, owing to the added liquid. It is inferred that the addition of granules improves the injectability, provided that the capillary pressure in the paste is maintained.

        Plastic products molded by injection molding have become an essential element of our lives. In addition, plastics can replace parts that used to be metal in the past. Plastic molded products used as a part of a mechanical system require high precision. At the same time, the appearance quality of molded products is also an important evaluation factor. The appearance quality of a molded product is affected by injection molding conditions, plastic material fluidity, and the condition of the mold surface. In this study, the cause of the short shot of the dog house, which functions to assemble the plastic tailgate parts for automobiles, was analyzed. In order to solve the short shot problem of the dog house, the root thickness of the dog house, injection molding conditions, and fluidity of plastic materials were experimented. Through the injection molding experiment, it was found that when the dog house root thickness was increased from 0.8mm to 1.2mm, the filling amount of the doghouse part increased by 43% in experiment mold. These results were verified by injection molding analysis.

        In this study, in order of to reflect the mold deformation in the injection molding process to design of mold, the mold deformation was analyzed by performing flow and structural analysis. The 5 inch LGP(light guide plate) mold, platen and tie bar were modeled and applied to the analysis. The result of melt pressure from flow analysis was extracted for use as boundary conditions acting on the mold surface in the structural analysis. In order to evaluate the accuracy of simulation analysis results, injection molding was performed under the process conditions of simulation. As a results, the mold deformation during injection molding tends to be similar that of injection pressure, and it is confirmed that it shows the behavior and properties of melt resins. Compared with the simulation and experiment, the error of the maximum mold deformation in the injection phase was 4.20%.

        A combination of Polycarbonate (PC) material and Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), fabricated using an injection molding machine, has been investigated to determine its advantages, as studied in Ref. 1). This paper aims to investigate the optimization of PMMA/PC blend for both tensile yield strength and impact strength. Furthermore, interaction effects of process conditions on mechanical properties including tensile yield strength and impact strength of PMMA/PC blend by injection molding process are interpreted in this study. Tensile and impact specimens are designed following ASTM, type V, and are fabricated by injection molding process. The processing conditions such as melt temperature, mold temperature, packing pressure, and cooling time are applied; each factor has three levels. As a result, in comparison with optimization of separated responses, mechanical properties of PMMA/PC are found to decrease when optimizing both tensile and impact strengths simultaneously. The melt temperature is found to be the most significant interaction parameter with the mold temperature and packing pressure. In addition, there is more interaction between the mold temperature and cooling time. This investigation provides a useful understanding of the control of injection molding processing of polymer blends in optical application.

        The milk fever and mastitis that occur during the colostrum period in dairy cattle cause great damage in the dairy industry by causing a rapid decline in the cattle’s health and decreasing milk production. In order to prevent this, gradual milking (GM), calcium injection with gradual milking (CG), and calcium injection with complete milking (CC) methods are used. However, differences in effectiveness between these methods have not been established. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effects of each preventive method on milk fever and mastitis. The results of this study showed that while there was a significant negative correlation of GM with milk fever and mastitis (r = –0.657, p < 0.05), there was no correlation of CG and CC with milk fever and mastitis. The incidence of milk fever was significantly lower in CG and CC than in GM (p < 0.05) but no differences in the incidence of mastitis were observed between the three groups. No significant differences in the rate of recovery from milk fever and mastitis were observed between the three groups. The recurrence rate of milk fever was significantly higher in CG and CC than in GM (p < 0.05), though no differences in the recurrence rate of mastitis were observed. This study showed an inverse relationship between the incidence rates of milk fever and mastitis when calcium injection was not used during the colostrum period. When calcium injections were used, the incidence of milk fever was reduced without affecting the incidence of mastitis regardless of the milking method, but the recurrence rate of milk fever was increased. The results of this study would be useful for controlling blood calcium concentrations and establishing efficient milking strategy in order to effectively prevent milk fever and mastitis in dairy cattle during the colostrum period.

        본 연구는 두경부의 자기공명 역동적(dynamic) 혈관조영술(DCE-MRA)에서 조영제(1.0 mol/ℓ)와 생리식염수의 희석 주입 비율에 따른 신호강도 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 연구 방법으로는 3.0 T MRI 장치에서 자동주입기를 이용하여 조영제와 생리식염수의 희석주입 비율(조영제:생리식염수)을 10:0 (1000 mmol/ℓ, 조영제 원액), 7:3 (700 mmol/ℓ), 5:5 (500 mmol/ℓ)로 3가지 군으로 하였다. 주입 조건으로는 오른팔 정맥으로 주입 속도 3.0 ㎖/sec으로 하였고 용량은 0.1 ㎖/㎏으로 하였다. 신호강도 측정은 동맥혈관 7 부위와 정맥혈관 2 부위로 하였고 역동적 영상에서의 측정 시기는 정맥이 침범하기 직전의 순수 동맥기, 최고신호 동맥기, 최고신호 정맥기로 구분 하였다. 연구 결과 최고신호 동맥기의 횡정맥동을 제외한 모든 측정 시기의 10:0 (1000 mmol/ℓ), 7:3 (700 mmol/ℓ), 5:5 (500 mmol/ℓ) 순서로 신호강도가 증가하였다(p<0.01). 따라서 두경부의 DCE-MRA에서 조영제와 생리식염수의 5:5 희석주입을 통하여 최고의 신호강도를 구현할 수 있고 최적의 영상을 얻을 수 있다.

        In this analysis, the analytical model was verified through the normal mode analysis of the piston for the 2.9 liter IDI (indirect injection) engine. Heat transfer analysis was carried out by selecting two cases of applied temperature using the validated model. The first case was a condition of 350℃ on the piston upper surface and 100℃ on the piston body and inner wall. In the second case, the conditions were set to give a temperature of 400℃ on the upper surface of the piston and 100℃ on the piston body and the inner wall. In addition, the temperature distribution due to heat transfer was obtained for the pistons with boundary conditions of two cases, and then the thermal stress distribution due to thermal expansion was obtained using the input. Using this analysis result, the thermal stress caused by thermal expansion due to the thermal conduction of the piston is examined and used as the basic data for design.

        Due to the development of the industry, the importance of injection molded products is increasing in the fields of electricity, electricity, automobiles, etc. Through this experiment, the weight change of molded products according to the injection speed change during injection molding was investigated. As a result of the experiment, a statistical program was used to confirm that the pi control method produced about 69.2% more weight deviation than the dpi method and to adopt the null hypothesis that the p-value was less than 0.05 Injection speed affected the molded product.

        In this paper, we investigate the relationship between control system of Bosch system and that of Delphi system by measuring the high and low voltage waveform, current waveform and fuel injection quantity of D-2 and R- engines. Waveform measurements are used the PICO scope and the CDS tester. The injectors of D-2 and R-engines were tested under no load condition using injector with normal fuel injection quantity, injector with small fuel injection quantity and injector with many fuel injection quantity. The relation between current energy and fuel injection quantity shows that the injector variation rate of D2-engine is much larger than that of R-engine. The injector current energy of the D2-engine was more linear than that of the R-engine, therefore making the system more stable. Although the control system of the D2-engine is a more stable system only in terms of the durability of the internal parts of the injector, the injector of the R-engine has a good response because the current value is large.

        In this study, the effect of various pilot injection timings on combustion and emission characteristics were investigated in a common-rail direct injection (CRDI) diesle engine fueled with diesel-ethanol blends. The engine speed and engine load were controlled at constant 1500rpm and 70Nm, respectively. The tested fuels were DE0 (pure diesel fuel), DE5 (5 vol.% ethanol blended with 95 vol.% diesel oil), DE10 (10 vol.% ethanol blended with 90 vol.% diesel oil) and DE15 (15 vol.% ethanol blended with 85 vol.% diesel oil). The main injection timing was fixed at 0°CA TDC (top dead center), while various pilot injection timings including 25°CA BTDC (before top dead center), 20°CA BTDC and 10°CA BTDC were selected as the experimental variable. The experimental results showed that various pilot injection timings had little effect on the peak value of cylinder pressure, but had great influence on the start of combustion. The peak value of heat release rate (HHR) increased with the increase of ethanol content. However, the peak value of HRR reduced as the pilot injection is delayed. The diesel fuel containing 10% ethanol had a highest peak value of combustion pressure compared with the others, while the pilot injection timing occurred at 25°CA BTDC. On the other hand, the exhaust emissions of DE10 was also the lowest compared with the others. In addition, with the increase of ethanol content in diesel the PM and NOx emissions reduced.

        In this study, the injection pressure of 31 MPa and clamping force of 1,000 kN toggle electric injection molding machine were used to measure the load transmitted to the frame during injection molding and to use it as the design basis data. In general, the toggle structure is composed of a movable plate, tie bars, crossheads, toggle links, toggle pins, base plates, etc and The material is spherical graphite cast iron(FCD 400). In this study, it was found that there was a 1.3% safety factor by calculating the clamping force in the structure of the five-point toggle link system. In addition, Expected static bottom load, Expected dynamic additional load, Maximum expected additional load, and Maximum weight load were measured using tensile measurements and presented as important basic design data of the assembly.
