        Currently, the application of TiO2 photocatalyst has been focused on purification and treatment of wastewater. However, the use of conventional TiO2 slurry photocatalyst results in disadvantage of stirring during the reaction and of separation after the reaction. And the usage of artificial UV lamp has made the cost of photocatalyst treatment system high. Consequently, we studied that solar light/TiO2 film system was designed and developed in order to examine disinfection characteristics of sewage wastewater treatment. The optimum conditions for disinfection such as solar light intensity, characteristic of sewage wastewater, amounts of TiO2 and comparison of solar ligth/TiO2 systems with UV light/TiO2 system was examined. The results are as follows: (1) photocatalytic disinfection process with solar light in the presence of TiO2 film more effectively killed total coliform (TC) than solar light or TiO2 film absorption only. (2) The survival ratio of TC and residual ratio of organic material (BOD, CODcr) decreased with remain resistant material. (3) The survival ratio of TC and residual ratio of organic material (BOD, CODcr) decreased with the increase of amounts of TiO2. (4) TC survival ratio decreased linearly with increasing UV light intensity. (5) The disinfection effect of solar light/TiO2 slurry system decreased more than UV light/TiO2 film systems. (6) The disinfection reaction followed first-order kinetics. We suggest that solar light instead of using artificial UV light was conducted to investigate the applicability of alternative energy source in the disinfection of TC and the degradation of organic material.

        전해 방식에 따라 제조된 전기분해수로 세정처리한 딸기의 살균효과 및 저장중 품질변화를 살펴본 결과, 전기분해수에 의한 딸기의 미생물학적 살균효과는 침지수량은 중량 대비 10배수, 침지시간은 20분 처리시 초기균수에 대하여 2 log cycle 정도 감소하며 저장중 균증식 속도도 다소 느리게 나타났다. 폐기율은 저장시 EW-2 처리구에서 저장 5일째까지 10%수준을 보여 무처리 및 염소수 처리에 비해 낮은 폐기율을 보여주었고, 조직감도 저장 전

        This research studied the effect of factors that are able to form disinfection by-products (DBPs) of chlorination, including natural organic matter (NOM) with sewage, bromide ions, pH and contact time. Trihalomethane (THMs) yield of 0.95 μmol/㎎ was higher than other DBPs yield for the chlorinated humic acid samples. THMs yield of sewage sample was 0.14 μmol/㎎ and haloacetonitriles (HANs) yield in the sewage samples were 0.13 μmol/㎎ but only 0.02 μmol/㎎ for the humic acid samples. As the concentration of bromide ions increased, brominated DBPs increased while chlorinated DBPs decreased, because bromide ions produce brominated DBPs. THMs were highest (55.55 ㎍/L) at a pH of 7.9 and haloacetic acids (HAAs) were highest (34.98 ㎍/L) at a pH of 5. Also THMs increased with increasing pH while HAAs decreased with increasing pH. After chlorination, the rate of THMs and HAA formation are faster at initial contact time and then reaches a nearly constant value after 24 hours.         선박에서 발생되는 밸러스트수를 전처리하기 위하여 수중에 포함되어 있는 미생물을 복극전해처리시스템을 이용하여 살균처하였다. 전해처리시스템에 유입되는 시료는 정량펌프를 사용하여 상향류로 전극판 사이를 통과하도록 하였으며, 반응시간별로 유량을 조절하여 체류시간을 다르게 하였다. 양극판은 티타늄에 이산화이리듐을 전착한 Ti/Ir02 극판으로 하였으며, 음극판은 스테인리스 스틸판을 사용하였다. 전원공급은 최대 전압이 250V, 전류가 100Amper의 맥류가 전혀 없는 트랜지스트 평활회로를 사용한 D.C. Power Supply를 사용하여 전류밀도를 조절하여 운전하였다. 반응시간에 따라 전류밀도를 0.1~1.0A사이로 변화를 주어 실험한 결과 5초 이내에 E. coli, Bacteria, Bacillus sp.의 미생물이 사멸됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 전극간격은 75mm, 전류밀도 2.0A/dm2, 체류시간을 5초로 하였을 때 제거율이 90%이상이였다. 연구결과를 통하여 밸러스트수 처리에 적용 가능한 기술임을 알 수 있었다.

        The effect of ozone on the formation and the removal of disinfection byproducts(DBPs) of chlorination process was studied to elucidate the performance of water treatment process. The samples of raw water, prechlorination process, and preozonation process were analyzed quantitatively according to the Standard Methods for the Examination of drinking water. As a result, most of total trihalomethanes(THMs) which were formed in prechlorine treatment process was not removed in the preozonation process. Most of haloacetic acids(HAAs), haloacetonitriles(HANs), and chloral hydrate(CH) was removed in sedimentation and biological activated carbon(BAC) filtration processes. However, DBPs were increased more or less by postchlorine step. In particular, the formation of THMs and HAAs depends on ozone more than chlorine, but, the formation of HANs and CH depends on chlorine more than ozone. The seasonal variation of DBPs concentration for the year needs to be investigated to study the temperature effect because DBPs strongly depend on temperature among various efficient factors.

        In order to research the adsorption removal characteristics of trace organic by-products in disinfection of drinking water by biological activated carbon(BAC), water samples disinfected with Cl_2, O_3 and ClO_2 after treatment by fluidized-bed system with water added with humic acid(l0㎎/L) were investigated the formation and the removal of trihalomethanes (THMs), and the trace organic by-products by gas chromatography(GC) & gas chromatography/mass selective detector(GC/MSD). Control was used by activated carbon(AC) and water added with hurnic acid(HA). The results were summarized as follow ; The THMs removal effect of BAC by chlorination was in lower 90 % than that of control(HA), the sorts of oxidants formed by Cl_2, O3 and ClO_2 were that O_3 was very fewer than Cl_2 or ClO_2 and that ClO_2 was fewer than Cl_2 The trace organic by-products were esters and phthalates etc. Based on results above, it is concluded that BAC was appeared the more desirable adsorption-degradation removal characteristics than that of AC.

        청도군이서면과 김제군죽산면에서 발생된 수도심고선충을 분리하여 그 병실과 병원선충의 형태를 조사하고 그 전염경로와 온탕처리방제에 관한 약간의 실험을 실시하였는데 그 지과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 발병되었던 포장에서는 매년발병된다. 즉 포장전염을 한다. 2. 발병되었던 벼 종자는 그 종자를 통해서 전염한다. 3. 관개수를 통해서 전염한다. 4. 토양중에서 선충이 생존하고 있다가 토양의 이동으로 선충이 전염된다. 5. 선충은 이삭과 뿌리에 많이 분포되어 있지만 성숙식물전체부분에 널리 분포되여 있다가 그것을 통해서 전염된다. 6. 50℃ , 55℃ , 60℃ 의 온탕에서 5분간격으로 60분까지 종자처리를 하여 살선충효과와 발아와의 관계를 조사하였던 바 50℃ 에서는 60분간 처리하여도 효과가 없고 55℃ 에서는 15~20분간, 60℃ 에서는 10~15분간만 처리하여도 효과가 있음을 알았다.
