        Zintl compound Mg3Sb2 is a promising candidate for efficient thermoelectric material due to its small band gap energy and characteristic electron-crystal phonon-glass behavior. Furthermore, this compound enables fine tuning of carrier concentration via chemical doping for optimizing thermoelectric performance. In this study, nominal compositions of Mg3.8Sb2-xTex (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.03) are synthesized through controlled melting and subsequent vacuum hot pressing method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are carried out to investigate phase development and surface morphology during the process. It should be noted that 16 at. % of excessive Mg must be added to the system to compensate for the loss of Mg during melting process. Herein, thermoelectric properties such as Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity are evaluated from low to high temperature regimes. The results show that Te substitution at Sb sites effectively tunes the majority carriers from holes to electrons, resulting in a transition from p to n-type. At 873 K, a peak ZT value of 0.27 is found for the specimen Mg3.8Sb1.99Te0.01, indicating an improved ZT value over the intrinsic value.

        마에는 다양한 기능성 성분이 함유되어 있어서 식용 및 약용으로 다양하게 이용되고 있다. 특히 allantoin은 대표적인 마의 2차 대사산물로서 의약품 및 기능성 화장품 제조에도 활용되는 고부가가치 산물이다. 본 연구에서는 아미노 결합 정지상 HPLC 컬럼을 이용하여 마의 속과 껍질의 allantoin 함량을 분석하였다. Allantoin 표준용액의 검량 선의 결정계수(R2)값은 0.9999로 높은 직진성을 보였으며, 검출한계(LOD)와 정량한계(LOQ)는 각각 0.0229 mg/mL 및 0.0694 mg/mL로 설정되었다. 마 속과 껍질의 건조중량 기준 allantoin 함량은 각각 3.09±0.02 mg/g, 3.91±0.11 mg/g으로 속보다 껍질에 더 많은 allantoin이 함유되어있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 이러한 결과를 토대로 향후 농업부산물인 마껍질이 새로운 고부가가치 기능성 소재로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

        Ti-Al-Si target and Cr-Si target are sputtered alternately to develop a multi-layered nitride coating on a steel mold to improve die-casting lifetime. Prior to the multi-layer deposition, a CrN layer is developed as a buffer layer on the mold to suppress the diffusion of reactive elements and enhance the cohesive strength of the multi-layer deposition. Approximately 50 nm CrSiN and TiAlSiN layers are deposited layer by layer, and form about three μm-thickness of multi-layered coating. From the observation of the uncoated and coated steel molds after the acceleration experiment of liquid metal injection casting, the uncoated mold is severely eroded by the adhesion of molten metallic glass. On the other hand, the multi-layer coating on the mold prevents element diffusion from the metallic glass and mold erosion during the experiment. The multi-layer structure of the coating transforms the nano-composite structured coating during the acceleration test. Since the nano-composite structure disrupts element diffusion to molten metallic glass, despite microstructure changes, the coating is not eroded by the 1,050 oC molten metallic glass.

        In this study, a new method of rapid preparation of carbon nanotube (CNT) solution with highly dispersed morphology by free arc excitation is proposed, which shortens the time of the preparation of CNT solution with low concentration. The principle is that the high-energy flow density heat generated by the free arc makes the vaporizable substance coated on the surface of CNTs vaporize rapidly, and then generates the bulk increasing motion, which makes the CNTs aggregates dispersed, and finally forms the CNTs gas-phase dispersion monomer with high dispersion or the cross-linking morphology of few CNTs. In this paper, the influence of gum Arabic (GA) and deionized water (DI water) contents in CNTs mixed electrode on the dispersion of CNTs in different environments (gas phase and liquid phase) is explored. In the limited case of this work, the dispersion effect is better when the mass ratio of CNTs, GA and DI water is 1:0.04:3.96 in the liquid-phase environment. The preparation method reported in this work is expected to be a rapid way to obtain low-concentration nanodispersion.

        In this study, AlSi10Mg powders with average diameters of 44 μm are additively manufactured into bulk samples using a selective laser melting (SLM) process. Post-heat treatment to reduce residual stress in the as-synthesized sample is performed at different temperatures. From the results of a tensile test, as the heat-treatment temperature increases from 270 to 320oC, strength decreases while elongation significantly increases up to 13% at 320oC. The microstructures and tensile properties of the two heat-treated samples at 290 and 320oC, respectively, are characterized and compared to those of the as-synthesized samples. Interestingly, the Si-rich phases that network in the as-synthesized state are discontinuously separated, and the size of the particle-shaped Si phases becomes large and spherical as the heat-treatment temperature increases. Due to these morphological changes of Si-rich phases, the reduction in tensile strengths and increase in elongations, respectively, can be obtained by the post-heat treatment process. These results provide fundamental information for the practical applications of AlSi10Mg parts fabricated by SLM.

        급냉법에 의한 역 열유도상전이(RTIPS) 공정을 사용하여 mesoporous polystyrene (PS), polyethersulfone (PES) 막 을 제조하였다. 급냉법에 의한 RTIPS 공정은 급냉 및 승온 시 도포 용액 내 용매 분자들의 결정 생성 및 성장을 통해 나노 규 모의 상전이를 야기시켜 mesoporous 기공들을 형성된다. 시차주사열량계(TA: DSC) 사용해 측정된 사용 용매 dimethylformamide (DMF)와 여러 고분자 함량의 고분자용액들에 대한 엔탈피 변화와 주사현미경(SEM)을 사용하여 측정한 고분자함량에 따른 제조된 막 구조, 그리고 비표면적 분석기(BET) 사용하여 측정한 고분자 함량에 따라 제조된 막의 기공크기분포 및 표준편 차 분석을 통해 RTIPS 공정 시 상전이 거동을 살펴보았다.

        PURPOSES : This study aims to determine the type (e.g., melting point, freezing point, latent heat fusion) and optimal content of phase change material (PCM) based on the numerical and experimental analyses evaluating the effects of heat transfer in PCM-modified asphalt pavement systems. METHODS : The effect of PCM on the thermophysical properties of PCM-modified asphalt concrete can be taken as an effective volumetric heat capacity. The volumetric fraction of PCM was calculated using an iterative method. The numerical model was established and computed using the MATLAB 2020 software. The optimum PCM design tool was developed to select the type and contents of the PCM. The PCM was chosen based on the following criteria: black-ice-formation delay time, minimize temperature increase, and increase temperature area. To validate the numerical model, asphalt mixtures were modified with varying PCM contents, and the temperature response of the PCMmodified asphalt samples was examined via temperature test. RESULTS : The numerical results showed that incorporating PCM into the asphalt mixture can slow the cooling rate of the pavement system. The predicted results from the optimum PCM design tool were highly consistent with the measured values from the laboratory temperature test. CONCLUSIONS : The temperature of PCM-modified asphalt pavement can be predicted via numerical method. The effect of PCM on the thermophysical properties can be considered as effective volumetric heat capacity; while the volume fraction of PCM can be calculated via an iterative method. The accuracy of the numerical model was confirmed by a high agreement between the measured and predicted values.

        We investigate the effects of Yb2O3 and calcium aluminosilicate (CAS) glass as sintering additives on the sintering behavior of AlN. The AlN specimens are sintered at temperatures between 1700oC and 1900oC for 2 h in a nitrogen atmosphere. When the Yb2O3 content is low (within 3 wt.%), an isolated shape of secondary phase is observed at the AlN grain boundary. In contrast, when 3 wt.% Yb2O3 and 1 wt.% CAS glass are added, a continuous secondary phase is formed at the AlN grain boundary. The thermal conductivity decreases when the CAS glass is added, but the sintering density does not decrease. In particular, when 10 wt.% Yb2O3 and 1 wt.% CAS glass are added to AlN, the flexural strength is the highest, at 463 MPa. These results are considered to be influenced by changes in the microstructure of the secondary phase of AlN.

        버섯은 대부분 시설에서 재배되기 때문에 안전하게 고품질의 버섯 생산을 위해서는 재배사 내 환경에 대한 정보가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 헤파필터 교체에 따른 큰느타리 재배사 대기중 미생물상 변화를 분석하여 헤파필터 적정 교체기간을 설정하고자 연구를 수행하였다. 헤파필터 교체 전 재배단계별 대기중 세균 및 진균 밀도는 배지제조과정에서 세균 169.7 cfu/m 3 , 진균 570 cfu/m 3 , 균 긁기과정에서 세균 126.3 cfu/m 3 , 진균 560cfu/m 3로 부유균 의 밀도가 가장 높았다. 헤파필터 교체 후 세균의 밀도는 배양실에서 가장 낮아졌고, 진균의 밀도는 냉각실에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 헤파필터 교체전 Cladosporium sp. 등 7속 7종이었고, 교체 후 1개월은 Penicillium sp. 등 6속 6종, 2개월은 Cladosporium cladosporioides 등 4속 7종, 3 개월차는 Mucor plumbeus 등 5속 7종, 4개월에서 6개월까지는 Penicillium brevicompactum 등 각각 5속 12종, 5속 10종, 5속 10종으로 교체 후 기간이 지날수록 종이 다양해지고 증가하였다. 부유균의 밀도는 헤파필터 교체 후 2개월 후 가장 낮았고 차츰 증가하다가 6개월에는 교체전 밀도와 비슷해지거나 높아지는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 헤파필터는 6개월마다 교체하는 것이 오염저감을 위해 효율적인 것으로 판단된다.

        Numerical model was developed that simulates radionuclide (3 H and 14C) transport modeling at the 2nd phase facility at the Wolsong LILW Disposal Center. Four scenarios were simulated with different assumptions about the integrity of the components of the barrier system. For the design case, the multi-barrier system was shown to be effective in diverting infiltration water around the vaults containing radioactive waste. Nevertheless, the volatile radionuclide 14C migrates outside the containment system and through the unsaturated zone, driven by gas diffusion. 3 H is largely contained within the vaults where it decays, with small amounts being flushed out in the liquid state. Various scenarios were examined in which the integrity of the cover barrier system or that of the concrete were compromised. In the absence of any engineered barriers, 3 H is washed out to the water table within the first 20 years. The release of 14C by gas diffusion is suppressed if percolation fluxes through the facility are high after a cover failure. However, the high fluxes lead to advective transport of 14C dissolved in the liquid state. The concrete container is an effective barrier, with approximately the same effectiveness as the cover.

        This study is aimed at preparing and evaluating the plasma resistance of YAS (Y2O3-Al2O3-SiO2) coating layer with crystalline YAG phase contents. For this purpose, YAS frits with controlled phase contents are prepared and melt-coated on sintered Al2O3 ceramics. Then, the results of phase analysis of crystalline YAS coating layer are compared to that of YAS frits, and discussed with regard to the plasma resistance of the YAS coating layer. The phase contents of the YAS frit change in a manner different from that of the prepared YAS coating layer, presumably owing to the composition change of YAS frit during the melt-coating process. The plasma resistance of the YAS coating layer is shown to increase with the YAG phase contents in the coating layer. Comparing the weight loss of YAS coating layer with those of commercial Y2O3, Al2O3, and quartz ceramics, the plasma resistance of the prepared YAS coating layer is 8 times higher than that of quartz and 3 times higher than that of Al2O3; this layer shows 70 % of the resistance of Y2O3.
