This paper examines the practical experiences and perceptions of “TingziJian” (亭子間) as writers’ residential space in 1930s Shanghai. The TingziJian refers to a type of small room in the LiLong house, a communal housing in Shanghai, typically situated above the kitchen and below the veranda, or attached to the hallway stairs between the main room and the outer room. In the late 1920s, large numbers of writers from various regions migrated to Shanghai, and among them, emerging writers with insufficient financial supports opted for the more affordable TingziJian accommodations. The basic conditions of living in the TingziJian were poor, especially unpreventable to unpleasant odors and noise, making it barely functional as an independent residential space. As a result, writers often expressed their frustration with the squalid conditions of the TingziJian through their literary works, reinforcing its image as a cheap yet substandard residential space within the LiLong housing. Nevertheless, in real life, writers took full advantage of this low rent, recognizing the TingziJian as a space that overlapped both residential and working functions, used this space practically.

A Ming Dynasty Book, YuTang LiZheng ZiYi YunLv HaiPianXinJing (玉堂釐正字義韻律海篇心鏡, Vol. 20s), is collected in National Library of Korea. The author Zhu ZhiFan (朱之蕃, 1548-1624) is a minister of the Ming Dynasty, also a famous calligraphist. In 1606, he has been to Korea, left lots of influent poetry and calligraphy works. According to the preliminary investigation, this book is re-adjusted and re-edited, basing on HanLin ChongKao ZiYi YunLv DaBan HaiPianXinJing (翰林重考字義韻律大板海篇心鏡, Vol. 20s) which was rescheduled by Liu KongDang (劉孔當) in 1596. The purpose of this paper is as follows: Firstly, we introduced content and collection situation of YuTang LiZheng ZiYi YunLv HaiPianXinJing (Korean version), which has not been formally introduced to the academic community; Secondly, we described the structure, the preparation of the whole story and author of this book; Thirdly, we compared this book with various HaiPian, expecially to find the origin of the relationship between them. Finally, we concluded its influence on Korean academic and literary circles in the later 17th century.

Male factor infertility or sub-fertility contributed half of all cases of infertility while the semen abnormality is the current topic of argument. Conventional analysis of semen showed poor correlation with fertility. Therefore, evaluation of current semen analysis method is necessary to improve standards of semen assessment. The goal of this study was to investigate that correlation between motion kinematic before and after capacitation and litter size in porcine. Sperm motility and kinematics were measure by computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA). The motility of spermatozoa was positively correlated with curvilinear velocity (VCL), average path velocity (VAP), and mean amplitude of head lateral displacement (ALH) (p<0.05). Where as VCL positively correlated with VSL, VAP and ALH (p<0.01). Straight-line velocity (VSL) was positively correlated with VAP and ALH (p<0.01). VAP was significantly positively correlated with ALH (p<0.01). Also, we found significant positive correlation among variation of VSL, VAP and ALH (p<0.05). No motility and kinematic parameter are correlated with litter size. However, litter size was significantly correlated with breed (p<0.05). Our results suggested that analysis of sperm motility and kinematics using CASA is questionable for prediction of litter size. However, it has some practical importance to evaluate semen commercially.
