        PURPOSES : In the case of a turning maneuver at an at-grade intersection or changing the driving path, the trajectory of a vehicle with a long body, such as a large bus or an articulated bus, should be analyzed from the perspective of road design. In this study, an articulated bus was selected to analyze the off-tracking, swept path width, and lane encroach hment for vehicle turning. METHODS : In this study, four scenarios were developed for right- and U-turn situations. For the right-turn situation, cases were divided into radii of 15 m (Scenario 1) and 40 m (Scenario 2). For the U-turn situation, the cases were analyzed based on a U-turn after stopping at the stop line (Scenario 3) and without stopping at the stop line for the U-turn (Scenario 4). Each scenario was examined at 5° (Right-turn) and 10° (U-turn) angles to analyze the off-tracking, swept path width, and lane encroachment. In addition, four Global Positioning System (GPS) antennas were installed on top of the articulated bus to obtain the driving trajectory of the vehicle. GPS locational reference points were marked on the testing ground to improve positioning accuracy. RESULTS : As a result of the right-turn analysis at an intersection radius of 15 m (Scenario 1), the average off-tracking per angle was 1.04 m, the average swept path width was 3.89 m, and the lane encroachments occurred at an angle of 65° to 70°. For the right-turn analysis at an intersection radius of 40 m (Scenario 2), the average off-tracking per angle was 3.71 m, and the average swept path width was 3.31 m. Unlike the results for the 15-m radius, no lane encroachment was found. Furthermore, the averages of the off-tracking in the at-grade intersection U-turn situation were 2.65 m (Scenario 3) and 2.54 m (Scenario 4), and the average swept path width was 6.15 m. CONCLUSIONS : The required driving width when an articulated bus performs a turning maneuver at an at-grade intersection was analyzed, revealing the implications that must be considered for busway design.

        본 연구는 1970년대 중반의 한국 미술 현장에서 두드러진 ‘새로운 평면’에 주목해 형식주의 관점에서 일반화할 수 없는 평면 작업의 개별성을 확인하고자 한다. 이때의 새로운 평면은 국제 무대의 새로운 아방가르드 기획으로, 68혁명 이후 후기구조주의 맥락에서 회화 요소를 통해 회 화 매체를 전복하고자 한 미술 양상으로 설명된다. 국제 조류에 민감하게 반응했던 한국 미술계 역시 1973년의 제8회 《파리비엔날레》를 주요 통로로 동시대 전위를 수용했고, 양식적으로 차용 했다. 구체적으로 이우환의 <선으로부터>(1973), 박서보의 <묘법>(1973), 그리고 이건용의 <신 체 드로잉>(1976)에서 동시대 평면 경향의 영향을 확인할 수 있다. 이 작품들은 1970년대 중반 을 배경으로 반복적 행위가 표상된 평면 드로잉이라는 유사성으로 유비된다. 특히 ‘한국적 모더 니즘’이라는 회화 중심의 서사에서 동시대 전위의 맥락이 굴절된 채 단일 매체로 범주화되기도 한다. 이에 본 논문은 이우환, 박서보, 이건용의 각기 다른 작업 기반을 살펴 형식적 유사성만으 로 일률적으로 규정할 수 없는 평면 작업의 개별성을 논증하고자 한다.

        When the center of stiffness and the center of mass of the structure differ under the seismic load, torsion is caused by eccentricity. In this study, an analysis model was modeled in which the positions of the core and the plane rotation axis of a 60-story torsional atypical structure with a plane rotation angle of 1 degree per floor were different. The structural behavior of the analysis model was analyzed, and the earthquake response behavior of the structure was analyzed based on the time history analysis results. As a result, as the eccentricity of the structure increased, the eccentricity response was amplified in the high-rise part, and the bending and torsional behavior responses were complex in the low-order vibration mode. As a result of the analysis, the maximum displacement and story drift ratio increased due to the torsional behavior. The maximum story shear force and the story absolute maximum acceleration showed similarities for each analysis model according to the shape of the vibration mode of the analysis model.

        In this paper, a twisted shape structure with an elevation form favorable to the resistance of vibration caused by wind loads is selected from among the forms of high-rise buildings. The analytical model is a square, triangular, and hexagonal plane with a plane rotation angle of one degree from 0 to 3 degrees per each story. As a result of the analysis, as the twist angle increased, story drift ratio is increased. Responses with different eccentricity rates were shown by analytical models. Therefore planar shapes designed symmetrically to the horizontal axis of X and Y are considered advantageous for eccentricity and torsion deformation. In the case of the bending moment of the column, the response was amplified in the column supporting the base floor, the roof floor, the floor in which the cross-section of the vertical member changes, and the floor having the same number of nodes as the base floor. Finally, the axial force response of the column is determined to be absolutely affected by the gravity load compared to the lateral load.

        PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to establish design criteria for right-turning lanes by analyzing the relationship between the speed and geometry of right-turning lanes in urban areas. METHODS : A right-turn vehicle with a traffic island was surveyed for 32 geometries and 4,012 vehicles. Using multiple regression, we developed a running speed prediction model based on the running speed characteristics and geometry scale. RESULTS : According to the analysis of the running speed of the right-turning channel, the 85th speed was 34.5-38.3 km/h, depending on the right-turning lane radius, and 32.4-39.0 km/h, depending on the channel width group. Based on the multi-regression, the right-turning radius and the channel width variables were statistically significant because of the influencing factors of the road speed. Two independent variables were positive (+) coefficients. CONCLUSIONS : In this study, we investigated the running speed state on the right-turning channel and the factors that influenced the running speed. In addition, the relationship between the running speed and other factors was modeled through statistical analysis, and a running speed prediction model was established. It was observed that the driving speed increased as the geometry scale increased. Based on the derived running speed model, the maximum design criteria for limiting the speed of the conductive channelized right-turning lane in urban areas were established.

        In this paper, the dynamic response was analyzed by performing linear dynamic analysis using historic earthquake loads on twisted-shaped structures and fixed structure among free-form high-rise structures with atypical elevation shape following prior studies. In addition, the dynamic characteristics of the analysis models according to the plane rotation angle of the twisted structure were compared and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, as the plane rotation angle of the twisted structure increased, the interlayer deformation rate increased in the high-rise part of 50th floors or more. The story shear force and the story absolute acceleration were similar in the entire structure. In the case of the story shear force, the response of the twisted shape model was rather reduced in the middle part. As a result of analyzing the dynamic response, the vulnerable layer where the response amplification of the twisted structure occurs was found to be 31st story.

        비정형 형태의 건축물에서 발생하는 풍하중은 KBC-2016의 풍하중 산정식으로 산정할 수 없기 때문에 풍동실험을 통해 풍하 중을 평가할 수밖에 없다. KBC-2016으로 비정형건축물을 정형적인 건축물로 가정하여 풍하중을 평가한다면 과소평가될 우려가 있 다. 그러므로 보다 합리적인 평가를 위해 풍하중을 할증시켜줄 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 평면형태가 L자인 건축물을 대상으로 풍력 실험을 실시하여 풍하중을 산정하였으며, 이를 KBC-2016으로 산정한 풍하중과 비교하였다. 풍동실험을 통해 구한 L자형 건축물의 풍 하중과 KBC-2016으로 L자형 건축물과 동일한 폭과 깊이를 가진 사각형평면 건축물을 대상으로 구한 풍하중의 비로 풍하중 할증계수 를 도출하였다. 풍하중 할증계수는 1.6~2.2로 나타났다. KBC-2016에 의해 평가한 사각형 건축물의 풍하중에 풍하중 할증계수를 곱하 면 L자형 건축물의 풍하중이 된다.

        Southern Royal Villa served as an accommodation for the prince in early Joseon Dynasty, and as an official residence and banquet room for Chinese diplomats in the later period. It was facing south and was located at the southern part of the old town of Seoul and to the north of the Southern Gate. The place was divided into four parts: the outmost, the middle, the inner-middle and the inner part beginning from the south and with important buildings placed in the inner part. The residence for the first and the second highest diplomats was situated at the northernmost location. The residence for the highest diplomat was a two-story building. On the west side of the residence was the large scale Western Banquet Room. It consisted of a single wide hall suited for a grand ceremony, and had the greatest formality and solemnity. On the southwestern side of the diplomatic residence was a building which was called Momchae before the early 17th century and Namru(南樓) after the 19th century. Namru in the inner-middle part is the half-sized remnant of Momchae, which used to be the largest building in the Southern Royal Villa. The title ‘Momchae (meaning Main Buildling)’ signifies that the building represented the entire Villa when it was built as an accommodation for princes. The layout of the Villa in early Joseon Dynasty, which was centered around Momchae, is highly likely to have been a common structure of royal villa for princes during the period.

        The purpose of this paper is to reconstruct the original floor plan and wall design of Seokbulsa Grotto in Kyungju; commonly known as ‘Seokguram’. The paper presents an array of dimensional studies of the existing Seokguram to examine its architectural form, and infers the original floor plan and wall design of Seokbulsa Grotto. Seokbulsa Grotto is designed as a system of 'coherent modules' and was constructed using the dry stone method, which interlocks large stone modules into a whole that becomes the load-bearing structure itself. The design principles governing Seokbulsa Grotto are the spatial axis of symmetry, modular coordination, and the layout grid of a quarter Tang-Ruler(TR: 唐尺). Dimensional studies were conducted with these governing principles in mind and concludes the following about the original floor plan design. In the main chamber, Ansang-stone’s radius is 12 TR, and Flagstone’s radius is 121/4 TR. In the front chamber, the width between the two Ansang-stones facing each other is 22 TR and the longitudinal space depth is 12 TR, while the width between the two Flagstones facing each other is 221/2 TR and Flagstone’s depth is 12 TR. In the passageway, the width between the two Ansang-stones facing each other is 111/2 TR and longitudinal space depth is 9 TR, while the width between the two Flagstones facing each other is 12 TR and Flagstone’s depth is 73/4 TR. The distance from the center to the entrance line of the main chamber is 101/2 TR. Therefore, the total longitudinal length of the Grotto is 431/2 TR at the level of the Ansang-stones, and 44 TR at the level of the Flagstones.

        Recently, electrochromic devices (ECDs) have gathered increasing attention owing to their high color contrast and memory effect, which make them highly applicable to smart windows, auto-dimming mirrors, sensors, etc. Traditional ECDs have a sandwich structure that contains an electrochromic layer between two ITO substrates. These sandwich-type devices are usually fabricated through the lamination of two electrodes and followed by the injection of a liquid electrolyte in the inner space. However, this process is sometimes complex and time consuming. In this study, we fabricated ECDs with a lateral electrode structure that uses only an ITO substrate and an all-in-one electrochromic gel, which is a mixture of electrolyte and electrochromic material. Furthermore, we investigated the EC properties of the lateral-type device by comparing it with a sandwich-type device. The lateral-type ECD shows strong blue absorption as the applied voltage increases and has a competitive coloration efficiency compared to the sandwich-type device.
