        본 연구는 산림자원으로 활용 가능한 활엽수림(혼효림 포함)의 상층 교목성 수종을 대상으로 유사한 수종구성을 갖는 산림 유형 분류를 통해 활엽수림의 효율적 산림관리 기반 구축을 위해 실시하였다. 제7차 국가산림자원조사 고정표본점(3,994지점) 중 2,291지점의 임분 현황 자료를 기반으로 클러스터분석, 지표종분석, 다중판별분석 등 다양한 다변량 통계분석 기법을 이용하여 산림 유형을 분류하였다. 활엽수림의 산림 유형은 신갈나무-피나무림, 신갈나무-당단풍나무림, 신갈나무-물푸레나무림, 신갈나무-굴참나무림, 신갈나무-소나무림, 졸참나무-굴참나무림, 소나무-신갈나 무림, 소나무-굴참나무림, 밤나무-아까시나무림, 상수리나무-소나무림 등 10개로 구분되었다. 신갈나무와 기타 활엽수림, 신갈나무가 우점하는 참나무 림, 주요 참나무류 수종과 소나무의 혼효림 형태로 구성된 것으로 파악되었다. 조사된 102종의 수종 중 점유비율이 높은 신갈나무, 굴참나무 및 소나무가 산림유형 분류에 중요한 역할을 한 것으로 나타났다.

        Distribution and abundance of species are influenced by their environmental condition. Among various environmental factors, a vegetation is one of the most influential factors, because it is used as habitats as well as food resources. Arthropods including insects play a important role in forest ecosystems as grazers, scavenger, predators, etc. Deciduous and coniferous forests have different plant community composition, resulting in different environmental condition. In this study, we collected arthropod communities at two different deciduous and coniferous forest stands in the Mountain Gariwang. At each stand, three different sampling methods were used: soil core for soil macroinvertebrate, pitfall trap for wandering insects, and sweeping net for insects in the shrups. Therefore, sampling was conducted at vertical habitats in the forest. The results showed that there were no difference in the number of orders from soil at both coniferous and deciduous stands. However, the abundance was higher at coniferous stand than at deciduous stand. Collembola was the dominant taxa in soil. Meanwhile, there were no statistically significant differences of community composition between coniferous stand and deciduous stands. Multivariate analyses was conducted to characterize differences of communities at different stands as well as vertical distribution in forest.

        To improve the estimation of carbon pool of forest ecosystems is very important in studying their CO2 emission and uptake. However, our understanding of how much storages carbon in forest ecosystems in national parks, Korea is limited. The carbon storages of forest ecosystems were estimated in four national parks (Bukhansan, Seoraksan, Jirisan, Songnisan), Korea during 2010 and 2011. Each the national park was established three stands (30 m × 30 m) of broad-leaved deciduous forest. To estimate the biomass, we applied a biometric method involving tree allometric analysis (all tree ≥ 5 cm DBH). In each stand, we conducted soil sampling at two points randomly to a depth of 30 cm (interval 5 cm) by core (100 cc). Figure. 1. Amount of ecosystem carbon storage (tC ha-1) at three stands of the each National Parks (Bukhansan, Seoraksan, Jirisan, and Songnisan), Korea The biomass of trees in the four national parks on an average was 111 ± 28 tC ha-1 (mean ± SD) and ranged from 90 to 147 tC ha-1. The total amount of soil organic matter (SOM) at a depth of 30 cm included litter layer in the four national parks on an average was 114 ± 49 tC ha-1 (mean ± SD, range 55 tC ha-1 ~ 155 tC ha-1). In addition, the total carbon stocks of biomass and soil in the four national parks was approximately 224 ± 52 tC ha-1 (mean ± SD), ranged from 149 to 265 tC ha-1. Above values among the four national parks, the amounts of carbon storage in Bukhansan national park were lowest significantly. In particular, the SOM in the four national parks were higher than those of other studies, accounting for approximately 50% of total ecosystem. The total ecosystem carbon pools might be underestimated in this study because the amount of coarse woody debris was not included. The amounts of carbon storage in averages of the each National Parks, were higher than those of other studies significantly, except Bukhansan National Park. Figure. 2.         지리산국립공원 산림생태계의 탄소 수지에 관한 기초자료를 확보하기 위해 낙엽활엽수림에 대한 탄소저장량을 추정하였다. 지리산국립공원의 대표 낙엽활엽수림 군락을 중심으로 뱀사골 지구, 중산리 지구, 성삼재 지구로 나누어 조사구 (30m×30 m, 3지점)를 설치, 식생권과 토양권의 탄소저장량을 추정하였다. 식생권의 탄소량은 107~119 tC ha-1의 범위로 평균 약 112 tC ha-1 정도의 양을 축적하고 있다. 또한 토양권의 탄소량은 64~77 tC ha-1의 범위로 평균 약 66 tC ha-1 정도의 양을 축적하고 있다. 토양권과 식생권을 포함한 생태계 전체의 탄소저장량은 167~184 tC ha-1의 범위로 평균 약 178 tC ha-1 정도의 양을 축적하고 있다. 값의 범위에서 알 수 있듯이 지구별 차이는 크게 나타나지 않았다. 다른 연구 결과와 비교하여 설악산국립공원을 비롯한 강원권 생태계를 제외하고 매우 많은 양의 탄소가 저장되어 있음을 알 수 있다.

        This study was conducted to examine the community structure of ground beetles between coniferous and deciduous forest in rural landscapes along latitudinal gradient, such as Miryang-si, Yeongdong-gun, Icheon-si, and Cheolwon-gun from April to October in 2009. A total of 19 species belonging to 15 genera of 9 subfamilies were identified from 6,253 collected ground beetles. Between forest stands, 14 species belonging to 10 genera of 7 subfamilies were identified from 2,874 ground beetles in coniferous forests and 14 species belonging to 11 genera of 7 subfamilies were identified from 3,379 ground beetles in deciduous forests. Dominant species from 4 regions were Synuchus nitidus (59.4% of total) and Synuchus cyloderus (28.5%) respectively. Analysis of similarity (ANOSIM) showed no difference between forest stands, but it was significantly different among regions. Non-metric multidimensional scaling showed that 8 study sites were divergence to 2 major groups between Miryang-si and the others. Overall, community structure of ground beetles showed no difference between forest stands. In conclusion, rural forests is being discussed about important role in biodiversity conservation such as refuge from human activity, and thus, studies on the community structure of ground beetles in the rural forests will be important to manage the biodiversity in agricultural landscapes, because ground beetles are well known for general predator groups in the ecosystems.

        This study was carried out in order to produce useful material for the forest multiple use and forest protection by soil physico-chemical analysis of studied area in Mt. Palgong. The results of soil physico-chemical analysis and statistical analysis represented as following 2 points. 1. Soil depth was in the range of average 61.1 cm and soil texture was loamy sand and sandy loam except Donghwasa area. The part of solid phase and gaseous phase were higher than other areas, but liquid phase was less in verse. Soil water content was in an average 49.5%, penetrability was average and the average of soil hardness was . This data showed that soil water content, penetrability and soil hardness were good at Mt. Palgong forest soils. 2. Soil pH was the range of 3.4 to 6.0, organic carbon content was 2.8% that is nearly mean of the Korea brown forest soils, total N content is somewhat smaller than that of other places, and total average C/N ratios was 13.9. Average available concentration was 5.05 mg/kg that is lower than that of any others. The concentration of available P of coniferous forests is higher than that of deciduous forests. Exchangeable cations content is similar to those of the Korea brown forest soil and the order of the cation content extent is > > > .

        산림발달에 따른 조릿대 임분의 구조적 특성을 구명하기 위해 전남 광양의 백운산 지역내 천연임분과 1987년 벌채임분, 1993년 벌채임분에서의 조릿대 발생임분과 비발생 임분에 대해 식생조사를 실시하였다. 또한, 상층 수목의 생장에 대한 조릿대의 영향을 조사하기 위해 조릿대가 분포하는 임분과 분포하지 않는 임분에서 공통적으로 중요도가 높은 졸참나무와 서어나무에 대한 연륜 생장량 분석을 실시하였다. 조사연구지역의 식생형은 조릿대 우점 식생형과 조릿대 소점 또는 무점 식생형으로 크게 분류되었으며. 전자의 경우 졸참나무-서어나무/조릿대 군락, 때죽나무-쪽동백나무/조릿대 군락, 층층나무-산뽕나무/조릿대 군락, 느티나무-조릿대 군락 등 4개의 군락으로 분류되었고, 후자의 경우는 졸참나무/비목군락, 층층나무/비목 군락, 졸참나무/당단풍/물참대 군락, 물푸레나무-졸참나무/비목/회잎나무 군락, 산딸기-산수국 군락, 산딸기-싸리 군락 등 6개 군락으로 분류되었다. 임분발달 단계에 따라서는 천연임분의 경우 졸참나무와 서어나무 중심의 낙엽활엽교목과 하층식생으로서 조릿대가 우점하는 반면, 벌채임분의 경우 하층식생으로서의 조릿대 출현밀도가 다양하게 나타났다. 졸참나무와 서어나무의 초기생장기에는 조릿대가 발생하지 않은 임분에서 자라는 개체들의 연륜폭이 조릿대 발생임분에서 자라는 개체들의 연륜폭보다 넓었으나 약 30년을 전후하여 반대 현상이 나타나고 있어 조릿대에 의한 생장감소는 없는 것으로 판단된다.
