        성적 행동은 사회의 규범이나 태도에 의해 지배되며, 개인의 장애나 환경에 의해 영향을 받는다(Mozat-Haller, 1992). 특히 지적장애인의 성에 대한 태도는 더 부정적이어서 그들의 성적 권리에 대하여 무시하거나(Heshusius, 1982; Liberatore, 1993; 권도용․나운환, 1994; 정진옥, 1996) 무관심한 것은 물론이고 다른 집단에서도 볼 수 있는 성적 문제를 지적장애라는 이유로 확대하거나 과장하기도 한다(Craft & Craft, 1981; 전용호, 1995; 이현혜․김정옥, 2003). 전문가들 사이에서도 지적장애인에 대한 잘못된 인식을 갖고 있는 것을 임상에서나 연구자들을 통해서 종종 볼 수 있다. 최근 지적장애인을 위한 성교육관련 연구들이 조금씩 진보를 하고 있으나 아직도 미흡하다고 사료된다. 따라서 전문가 집단의 교육과 홍보 인식의 전환이 중요하고 본다. 이에 우리 사회복지사들은 자체 교육을 실시함과 동시에 학교나 지역사회에 이들을 위한 연계적인 지원을 할 수 있는 방안들을 모색해야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지적장애인의 성 문제를 살펴보고 성교육적 접근 방안을 사회복지적 관점에서 제시하고자 한다. 지적장애인을 위한 성교육적 접근을 실시하기 위해서는 첫째, 교육 대상이 결정되면 대상별로 욕구조사를 한 후에 교육 내용을 구성하고, 실시해야 한다. 둘째, 발달단계를 정기적으로 체크하여 지체 정도에 따라 교육을 실시하면 보다 높은 효과를 거둘 수 있다. 셋째, 학교, 성교육 전문가, 가정이 서로 연계되어야 효과적으로 이뤄질 수 있다. 넷째, 지적장애의 특성상 같은 주제라도 다양한 방법을 활용하여 지속적으로 실시해야 하며, 반복적으로 실시해야 한다. 다섯째, 성교육의 효과를 높이기 위해 성교육이 정기 과목으로 포함되어야 한다. 현재 한국성폭력상담소에서 각 학교단위로 성교육을 간헐적으로 실시하고 있지만 체계적인 교육이 실시되어야 한다. 또한 프로그램에 대한 효과성에 대한 평가가 지속적으로 이뤄져야 지원을 받는 것에도 도움이 되며, 정규과목으로 채택될 수 있을 것으로 본다. 이러한 것들이 잘 보완되고 지원이 이루어져야만 지적장애인들의 삶의 질을 향상시키는데 미흡하나마 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        Previous studies indicated that Matsumuraeses phaseoli and M. falcana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) are separate species since a few differences were observed in genitalia morphology and female sex pheromone composition. A clear difference was detected in the DNA sequences of cytochrome oxidase I of the two species separately collected in different plants and regions. A hybridization test also showed that a post-zygotic reproductive isolation occurred between the species. In field monitoring, however, both species have been caught simultaneously and together in the separate sex pheromone traps installed for the two species around neighboring soybean and red bean fields. Molecular marker-assisted identification with several adults sampled from the trapped insects showed that only ca. 40% of M. phaseoli adults identified as the species by genitalia morphology was the M. phaseoli, while ca. 97% of M. falcana adults identified as the species was the M. falcana. The result indicated that the observation of genitalia did not make a decisive criterion for classification of the insects. Conclusively, it suggested that the sex pheromones of the two species should be studied more precisely although there is a possibility that the two species are hybridized in fields as in laboratory, and speciation is under process.

        Synanthedon haitangvora (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) is an economically important pest of apple trees in Korea and China. We report here the identification of compounds in pheromone gland extracts of female S. haitangvora, and the male responses to blends of different components and ratios in the field. Two major components from pheromone gland extracts of S. haitangvora females were identified as Z3,Z13-18:OAc and E2,Z13-18:OAc, and the average ratio of these components was about 1:1. Seven minor components, Z9-16:OAc, Z11-16:OAc, Z9-18:OAc, Z13-18:OAc, E3,Z13-18:OAc, Z3,Z13-18:OH, and E2,Z13-18:OH, also were identified from gland extracts. Field tests showed that male S. haitangvora were attracted to Z3,Z13-18:OAc alone, but the maximum number of males was attracted to the binary blend of Z3,Z13-18:OAc and E2,Z13-18:OAc mimicking the blend found in female extracts. The addition of minor components to a 1:1 blend of Z3,Z13-18:OAc and E2,Z13-18:OAc did not increase the numbers of moths captured. The only significant effect of minor components was the strong inhibitory effect of adding Z3,Z13-18:OH to the primary binary blend. Increasing doses of the optimum pheromone blend in the lures from 0.1 to 2.0 mg increased trap catches of male S. haitangvora.

        Upon mating, females of many animal species undergo dramatic changes in their behavior. In Drosophila melanogaster, post-mating behaviors are triggered by sex peptide (SP), a key modulatory substance produced in the male seminal fluid and transferred to female during copulation. SP modulates female behaviors by acting on the sex peptide receptor (SPR) located in a small subset of internal sensory neurons that innervate the female uterus and project to the central nervous system (CNS). Interestingly, however, SPR is also expressed broadly in the CNS of both sexes. Moreover, SPR is also encoded in the genomes of insects that lack obvious SP orthologs. Based on these observations, we speculated that SPR may have additional ligands that are only distantly related to SP, if at all. If so, then this also raises questions on the evolution of SP-SPR signaling. To begin to address these questions, we set out to identify additional ligands for SPR. Here, we identify myoinhibitory peptides (MIPs) as a second family of SPR ligands that is conserved across a wide range of invertebrate species. MIPs are potent agonists for Drosophila, Aedes and Aplysia SPRs in vitro, yet are unable to trigger post-mating responses in vivo. In contrast to SP, MIPs are not produced in male reproductive organs, and are not required for post-mating behaviors in Drosophila females. We conclude that MIPs are evolutionarily conserved ligands for SPR, which are likely to mediate functions other than the regulation of female reproductive behaviors. Therefore, we propose that SPR has a different ancestral function, with a role in post-mating behavior arising only recently in Drosophila evolution, concomitant with the emergence of its novel SP ligand.

        中國因爲在社會主義時期不能形成眞正的女性話語,所以新時期開始了,很快就恢復了以男性爲主的秩序,女性的社會作用與地位狹小了,對女性的視覺與認識也退步了。這些現實可以通過電影裏的女性形象看出,隨着新時期的進展,女性從公共領域移到私人領域,淪爲性慾的對象。從性與性別的角度來看,可以分成三種類型:性別的共有與性的恢复、性別的交叉與性的顚覆、性別的固定與性慾的强調。就是说,進入新時期,女性恢復了自己的性,而被該完成男女性別的壓迫感受到痛苦。女性屬於公共領域同时被母親的作用受壓迫。政治領域也變成個人和經濟領域,從此可以看到消弱國家意識形態而逐漸重視物質條件的社會變化。另外,女性在發揮男性作用之時穿男裝而在發揮女性作用之時穿女裝,就展示性別的交叉與性的顚覆的形態。這在區分男女和按照性規定性別,表現爲徹底阻擋女性的社會活動和造成性認同的混亂。前两類是給女性許容她們出入性和性別的範圍,而性別的固定與性慾的强調這類型意味着女性只能遂行女性作用,女性爲男性存在。所以强調對女性的性慾。另外這些女性塑造爲坏女人的形象,這也就是反映女性成爲性的消費對象,同時反映女性的成長。可是爲了纠正新時期以后重返的以男性爲主的秩序,女性找到自己眞正的座位,就需要和中國社會的發展一起,應該形成眞正的女性話語和進行對女性問題的認眞的摸索。

        Effects of host density and refuge on the sex ratio of progeny of hymenopterous parasitoids was tested with Bracon hebetor Say parasitizing Plodia interpunctella (Hübner). The overall sex ratio (male/total) of progeny produced per female with and without refuge was estimated to be 0.49 and 0.41, respectively. Regardless of refuge, the sex ratio decreased as host density increased. But, at host density of 128 with refuge the sex ratio was significantly lower than that without regfuge (t=-2.17, df=24; P=0.040). The number of pupae per host larva with refuge was similar to that without refuge at the host densities tested (t=-0.10, df=53.4; P=0.921). The number of attacked host larvae showed significantly different at all host densities with and without refuge (t=-3.33, df=209; P=0.001).

        A cDNA of PBAN receptor (Plx-PBANR) isolated from female pheromone gland of the diamondback moth encodes 338 amino acids and has 7 transmembranes, belonging to G-protein coupled receptor family. The fact that Plx-PBANR expression was only found in female pheromone gland revealed that pheromone gland is the only molecular target of Plx-PBAN. Plx-PBANR expressing cells increased level of Ca2+ influx when challenged with PBANs. When RNAi fragment for PBANR was injected into pupae, suppression of PBANR expression was maintained for at least 2 days at post-emergence. Injection of RNA fragment for inhibition of Plx-PBANR expression also inhibited mating behavior and suppressed sex pheromone production, suggesting that some molecular target was affected by reduced Plx-PBANR expression. We cloned partial Δ9 and Δ11 desaturase gene and investigated expression level in Plx-PBANR-RNAi moth. It is of interest that desaturases expression was reduced by RNA fragment injection. These results suggest of PBANR expression affects the molecular biological events of PBAN and eventually suppresses mating behavior.

        Sex-sorting of sperm is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) used by the livestock industry for the mass production of animals of a desired sex. The standard method for sorting sperm is the detection of DNA content differences between X and Y chromosome-bearing sperm by flow cytometry. However, this method has variable efficiency and therefore requires verification by a second method. We have developed a sex determination method based on quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) of the porcine amelogenin (AMEL) gene. The AMEL gene is present on both the X and the Y chromosome, but the length and sequence of its noncoding regions differ between the X and Y chromosomes. By measuring the threshold cycle (Ct) of qPCR, we were able to calculate the relative frequency of X chromosome. Two sets of AMEL primers were used in these studies. One set (AME) targeted AMEL gene sequences present in both X and Y chromosome, but produced PCR products of different lengths for each chromosome. The other set (AXR) bound to AMEL gene sequences present on the X chromosome but absent esholthe Y-chromosome. Relative product levels were calculated by normalizing the AXR fluorescence to the AME fluorescence. The AMEL method accurately predicted the sex ratios of boar sperm, demonstrating that it has potential value as a sex determination method.

        Without pesticide applications, mass-trapping by sex pheromone was successful to control Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) in a large scale tomato glasshouse (10,000 ㎡) at a low cost of 60 won/㎡. Pheromone traps were placed both inside and outside of the glasshouse. Inside the glasshouse traps were installed in a regular space, one trap per 500 ㎡, to catch the moths that were present in the glasshouse, and traps were also set outside of the glasshouse, at intervals of ca. 20 m, to prevent the moths from invading the glasshouse. In the experiment, more than 400 S. litura were captured per trap.

        Local and seasonal populations of the oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta , were monitored with sex pheromone trapping and RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) molecular marker to analyze their movement in apple orchards. To detect their movements among farms, pheromone traps were placed at regions between apple farms (‘outside-farms’) as well as within-farms (‘inside-farms’). Four seasonal adult peaks were evident in apple-cultivating fields from April to October in both trappings of inside- or outside-farms. After overwintering generation, populations of inside-farms were significantly reduced with frequent insecticide applications, compared to populations of outside-farms. Within apple farms, G. molesta tended to be unevenly distributed because of significant sublocal preference. Active movements of local and seasonal populations of G. molesta were supported by gene flow analysis using RAPD marker. Monitoring data using sex pheromone and seasonal reduction in initial genetic differentiation detected in the overwintering populations suggest that there must be significant movement of G. molesta among different orchards in apple-cultivating areas.

        Some responses of cryptic mealybug, Pseudococcus cryptus, for a sex pheromone, [(1R,3R)-3-isopropenyl-2,2-dimethylcyclobutyl]methyl 3-methyl-3-butenoate, were studied to develop the applying strategy of sex pheromone trap for efficient monitoring and control-time decision in citrus orchards grown in greenhouse for 2 years (2007-2008). The optimal concentration of a sex pheromone was 1.0㎎ per hexane 100㎕ in a using pheromone lure. There was no significant effect of the attraction of male adults among different colours (white, blue and yellow) of plate-type trap baited with sex pheromone. The more male adults were attracted, as the distance of a pheromone trap form a citrus tree infested with cryptic mealybug was closer. The male adults were caught to sex pheromone trap from middle April to late November, and its peak period was the middle of July. The thermal constant for the next attraction was about 640 degree-days (lower threshold temperature=12℃) after confirmed the first attraction of male adults. The optimum control time for cryptic mealybug after the first attraction of male adults were confirmed was estimated as 450 to 500 degree-days.

Plx-PBANR has conserved biochemical motifs and 7 transmembranes, indicating it belongs to G-protein coupled receptor family. Plx-PBANR expression was only found in female pheromone gland, demonstrating that pheromone gland is the only molecular target of Plx-PBAN. Human uterus carcinoma (HeLa) was stably transfected with Plx-PBANR gene and its expression was confirmed by RT-PCR analysis. Plx-PBANR expressing cells increased level of Ca2+ influx when challenged with Plx-PBAN and Hez-PBAN from Heliothis zea. When RNAi fragment for PBANR was injected into pupae, suppression of PBANR expression was confirmed by RT-PCR and maintained for at least 2 days at post-emergence. Injection of RNA fragment into pupae for inhibition of Plx-PBANR expression also inhibited mating behavior, revealing that reproductive organ of the female has no spermatocyte and that there are no successful reproductive behaviors. These results suggest of PBANR expression affects the molecular biological events of PBAN and eventually suppresses mating behavior.

        Ascotis selenaria, one of the major Geometridae moths, annually damages the citrus leaves and fruits. This study was focused to identify the sex pheromone components of A. selenaria in order to monitoring and control its population. Adult female and male were usually emerged at the time between 2 hour before and 2 hour afterlights-off in 16L:8D photoperiod. Mating, irrespective in female age, started at 2 hour after lights-off and peaked between 4 hour and 6 hour after lights-off. They copulated for 3 hour 47 min per pair. Gland extract of virgin female was analyzed with GC-MS and GC-EAD.Z,Z-6,9-3,4 epoxy nonadecadiene (Z,Z-6,9-3,4 epo- 19Hy) was identified as the candidate. Both of stereo isomer, Z,Z-6,9-3R,4S epo- 19Hy and Z,Z-6,9-3S,4R epo- 19Hy, showed a strong EAG response in male antennae. Further study like field attraction test should be needed to clarify the sex pheromone composition and in A. selenaria. Age and time were related with the amount of sex pheromone components biosynthesized in A. selenaria gland. 0 day old female had 112.7ng per gland at 5 hour after lights off and the amount was decreased as they aged. The sex pheromone biosynthesis started from lights-off and showed the increasing tendency during scotophase.

        This study was conducted to evaluate the attractiveness of the sex pheromone trap of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenée as a forecasting tool from 2006 to 2008 in Suwon, Gyeong-gi province and Seosan, Chung-nam province, Korea. The sex pheromone lure was composed of Z11-18:Ald (55㎍): Z13-18:Ald (500㎍): Z11-18:OH (120㎍): Z13-18:OH (180㎍): Z13-18:Ac (55㎍) per a rubber septum, which set in a cylindrical cone trap. The trap catches of male moths was counted on a weekly basis and the lures were renewed every two weeks. The flight activity of C. medinalis moths monitored by the sex pheromone trap revealed two distinct peaks a year in both experimental areas from 2006 to 2008. Degree-days accumulation was calculated using lower developmental threshold (13.3℃) and degree-days (386.4DD) since adults had been first recorded. Estimated adult peak of the first generation was almost coincident with that observed by sex pheromone trap except in Suwon in 2008.

        (E,E)-8,10-dodecadienyl acetate (E8E10-12:Ac) and (E)-8-dodecaenyl acetate (E8-12:Ac) have been selected as the candidate chemicals for sex pheromone components of the M. phaseoli, female through GC-EAD tests, whereas the two compounds and an additional candidate, (E,Z)-7,9-dodecadienyl acetate (E7Z9-12:Ac), have been found at a ratio of 7:1:1 in the abdominal tip extract (Yum et al., 2008). In order to determine the actual composition of sex pheromone, therefore, several blends using the three chemicals were evaluated for attractiveness to males of M. phaseoli around red bean and soybean fields. Individual components as well as two blends consisted of E8E10-12:Ac/E7Z9-12:Ac and E8-12:Ac/E7Z9-12:Ac did not show attractiveness, whereas the blend of E8E10-12:Ac/E8-12:Ac showed an increased effect in male capture. Of the tested blends with all three chemicals, the 7:1:2 composition of E8E10-12:Ac, E8-12:Ac and E7Z9-12:Ac attracted the most number of males. The results suggested that E7Z9-12:Ac is one of the sex pheromone components and may act as a synergist.

Plx-PBANR expressing cells increased level of Ca2+ influx when challenged with Plx-PBAN and Hez-PBAN from Heliothis zea, as ionomycin as a positive control does. To inhibit Plx-PBNAR expression in vivo, RNAi fragment for Plx-PBANR was injected into pupae. Suppression of PBANR expression was confirmed by RT-PCR and also induced inhibition of mating behavior in adults, revealing that reproductive organ of the female has no spermatocyte and that there are no successful reproductive behaviors. RNAi-treated adults showed reduced pheromone production. These results suggests that inhibition of PBANR expression affects the molecular biological events of PBAN and eventually suppresses mating behavior.

        This study was carried out to collect the basic data about gestation lengths and offspring's birth weights and sex ratio of the dairy recipients transferred with Hanwoo IVF embryos. Blastocysts cultured for days were transferred to 96 and 167 heads for the basic data about gestation length and offspring's birth weight and sex ratio of the dairy recipients, respectively. The gestation lengths of the dairy recipients transferred with Hanwoo IVF embryos were () and () days in male and female of the offspring, respectively. The gestation lengths of the recipients were , , and days in spring, summer, autumn and winter of the calving season, respectively, and were significantly different among the calving season (p<0.05). The birth weights of male and female calves were () and ( kg in offsprings of the dairy recipients transferred with Hanwoo IVF embryos, respectively. The sex ratio was 90.7 in the offsprings of the dairy recipients transferred with Hanwoo IVF embryos.
