        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of resting periods between exercise sets during isokinetic contraction on recovery from muscle fatigue, strength, heart rate, blood pressure, and lactate level. Sixteen women performed 10 repetitions of isokinetic exercise for three sets in three different conditions. During the sets, they rested 50, 100, and 150 seconds in each condition. And the results were: 1) In this population, the peak torque of extensor during the isokinetic exercise in 100 second resting condition was significantly higher than that in 50 and 150 second resting conditions (p<.01). The total work of extensor was significant in the second and third sets in 50 and 100 second resting conditions (p<.01). 2) During the isokinetic exercise, the heart rate was progressively increased as the sets were advanced in all resting conditions (p<.01). And the increase was significant during the second and third sets than the first in 50 second resting condition (p<.01), while it was significantly greater after the third set than the first in 100 and 150 second resting conditions (p<.01). 4) No difference was found between the resting periods in blood lactate level and blood pressure during the isokinetic exercise. However, differences were found between the sets in these variables (p<.01).

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the patterns of Korean traditional food use in the households of middle aged women living in Kyunggido and Incheon area Four hundred eighty seven housewives whose children were in middle school answered the questionnaire about Korean traditional food use patterns in ordinary days, national festive days and in private celebration or memorial days. Most households have used Korean traditional table setting called Bansang as daily meals(96.7%) and have used home-made Kimchi(97.3%). However, the use of home-made Jang such as soy sauce, soybean paste and red pepper soybean paste was not very high(64.3%). Most households have celebrated New Years day(99.6%) with Ddukguk and Manduguk, Chusuk(95.1%) with Songpyun, and fruits, Full-Moon day(95.1%) with Ogokbap, Namul and Brum. Dongji was celebrated with Patjug by 73.3% of households. However, Samjitnal and Danho were celebrated with Whajeon and Ssukjulpyun by only 18.9% and 43.8% of the households respectively. The households using Korean traditional food to celebrate the birthday, the 1st birthday of child, the wedding or to memorize the passing day of ancestors were 96.0%, 80.7%, 81.3% and 86.7% respectively. Compared to households of urban and nuclear family, households of rural and extended family tended to use significantly more Korean traditional foods in many occasions and showed significantly higher rate of using home-made Kimchi and Jang.

        This nutritional survey was conducted from February 8 to March 10, 1994, in order to investigate the nutritional knowledge, food habits, nutritional attitude, food preferences and nutrient intakes of urban middle-aged women living in Daegu and Pohang district. The subjects of this survey were 164 urban middle-aged women living in Daegu and Pohang Area. The completely answered questionnaires were analyzed for nutritional knowledge, food habits, nutritional attitude, food preference and nutrient intakes of urban middle-aged women. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The subjects had a high level of perceived knowledge (82.9%), that is the knowledge that each subject believed she had, but the accuracy of the knowledge was only 66.1%. The average nutrition knowledge score was 8.26 out of possible 15 points, and food habit score was 5.50 out of 10 points. Most of the subjects belonged to 'Fair' or 'Good' food habit group, which is considered to be relatively good. With increasing age, the percentage of perceived knowledge, accuracy, and nutrition knowledge score were getting lower. But food habit score and nutritional attitude score were getting higher at 40's women than 30's women. The correlation between nutritional knowledge score and food habit score was low (r=0.0748). The correlation between nutritional attitude score and food habit score was low, too (r=-0.0653). Food preferences for kimchi, potato, cooked rice, beef, noodle, cabbage and milk were high. Average calorie and protein intake of the subjects were 1967.4±27.8 Kcal, 75.8±1.4 g respectively. Carbohydrate, protein and fat ratio on energy composition was 63.3%:15.5%:21.2%.

        Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of weight training on physical self-concept among middle aged women by using a mixed research methods including a single case study design and qualitative study. Methods: A total of 8 middle-aged women from new members of the K fitness center in Incheon participated in the 17 weeks study. The study was structured 2 weeks baseline session, 12 weeks of weight training with observed changes through physical self-description questionnaire (PSDQ; Kim, 2001) and 3 weeks withdrawal session. Results: 12 weeks weight training intervention significantly improved factors of physical self-concept among the participants. Weight training was effective not only in strength and flexibility, but also in sports confidence, physical activity, and endurance. The following is the result of analyzing perceptual changes of the process of physical self-concept change after the in-depth interview with the participants of the weight training. Conclusion: Weight training effectively improved middle-aged women’s physical self-concept including perceptions of health and body, sport confidence, physical fitness and general physical status.

        본 연구는 신 중년여성을 연구대상으로 대중매체를 통해서 지각된 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태 도가 개인의 신체이미지와 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 서울 경기에 거주하는 40-50대 중년여성을 대상으로 총168부의 설문지를 분석자료로 사용하였고, 빈도분 석과 요인분석, 다중회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연구결과를 보면 첫째, 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태 도에 대한 요인분석결과 일반적 내재화, 압력, 정보의 3가지 요인으로 분류되었으며, 신체이미 지에 대한 요인분석결과 외모지향, 외모평가, 신체만족도의 3가지 요인이 도출되었고, 외모관리 행동에 대한 요인분석결과는 의복관리, 피부 관리, 체형관리의 3가지 요인으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도가 신체이미지에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 외모지향, 외모 평가, 신체만족도 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도가 중년여성들의 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결 과 의복관리와 체형관리 요인에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

        본 연구는 J군 정신건강센터를 이용하는 경증 이상의 우울이 있 는 중년기 여성 8명을 대상으로, 2012년 8월 30일 부터 2012년 11 월 15일까지 매주 1회 원예활동을 활용한 REBT 집단상담 프로그 램이 자아존중감과 우울에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 프로 그램 효과를 알아보기 위하여 프로그램 전과 후에 자아존중감 측정 지와 우울 측정지 그리고 매 회기마다 프로그램 전과 후에 정서 측 정지를 이용하여 평가하였다. 먼저, 자아존중감의 변화를 보면 유 의확률 0.001로 통계적으로 유의하게 나타나 사전.사후에 따라 차 이가 있음을 알 수 있었는데, 자아존중감은 사전 평균 2.37에서 사 후 평균 3.23으로 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 REBT Self-help과 정에서 논박을 통해 합리적 사고 전환 교육과 매개체로 활용했던 식물심기와 꽃바구니, 코사지 만들기 등의 원예활동이 자기이해와 자기수용을 도와 자아존중감이 향상되었다고 판단된다. 다음은 우 울의 변화를 보면 유의확률 0.012로 통계적으로유의하므로 사전. 사후에 따라 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었는데, 우울은 사전 평균 1.98 에서 사후 평균 1.46으로 감소함을 알 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 ABCDEF 원리 적용 반복 교육 후 매개체로 활용한 식물심기, 플라 워 토피어리만들기, 힐링가든 만들기 등의 원예활동이 심리를 끌어 내는 것에 효과적으로 작용하여 우울을 감소하게 되었다고 판단된 다. 정서의 변화는 프로그램 횟수가 증가 될수록 괴로움과불안함은 5회기 이후부터, 긴장감과 화남은 4회기 이후부터 감소하였고 자 신감은 3회기 이후부터 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 집단지도자가 REBT 집단상담 교육 후 원예활동을 매개로 집단원들에게 합리적 사고 전환과 긍정적 정서를 피드백하여 정서와 행동이 변화하게 되 었다고 판단된다. 이상의 연구결과와 같이 원예활동을 활용한 REBT집단 상담 프로그램은 비합리적 사고를 합리적 사고로 전환 하고‘지금 여기에’존재감 있는 원예활동을 매개체로 자신과 타인 을 이해하고 수용할 수 있도록 도와, 중년기 여성의 자아존중감을 향상시키고 우울이 감소하게 하는데 효과적이라고 할 수 있다.
