        The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a nutrition education program for the elderly at a public health center located in Jinhae city. The one group pretest and posttest design was conducted using self-administered questionnaire survey. Nutrition education lessons based on social cognitive theory (2 hours/lesson, 3 times) were provided to 27 female elderly(≥65 yrs) for a month. After the nutrition education, number of exercise increased and preference for sweetness decreased significantly (p<0.05). The outcome expectations, the knowledge of nutrition (p<0.001), and behavioral capability (p<0.05) score were significantly increased. There were significant increases in all nutrient intake. NAR was increased significantly in protein, calcium and vitamin C (p<0.01), dietary fiber, iron, zinc, thiamin, niacin and folic acid (p<0.001), and riboflavin (p<0.05). INQ was increased significantly in thiamin, vitamin B6 and niacin (p<0.05), and dietary fiber (p<0.01). The score of nutrition education satisfaction was high (4.52). The results of this study suggested that the nutritional education program based on social cognitive theory had a positive effect on dietary behavior changes, and nutrition intake status among female elderly even after short-term intervention.

        This study integrates the cognitive appraisal theory and script theory, highlighting the bridging role played by recollective memory. The relationships between visitors’ appraisals, emotions, recollection, storytelling and repurchase intention as they relate to the luxury cruise trip experience were assessed. We developed 14 theoretical hypotheses from a literature review. We then tested these hypotheses using data collected from 300 luxury cruise passengers. To the best of our knowledge this study is the first to incorporate the cognitive appraisal approach into script theory in a luxury tourism setting. Our work discloses that these two theories complement each other and recollection is the tie between them. This research reinforces the theoretical literature on cognitive appraisal and script theory. Moreover, the luxury cruise sector is under pressure due to fierce competition and as a result there is a need to acknowledge the crucial determinants of tourists’ emotional reactions. An understanding of tourists’ emotional experiences, and their antecedents and consequences will aid in the formulation of strategic marketing, segmentation, and communication efforts. The results of our study confirm that different emotional reactions can be elicited due to the power of four appraisal dimensions: appetitive goal congruence, certainty, novelty and agency. The findings not only enrich the cognitive appraisal framework and script theory literature but also provide guidance for managerial and marketing strategies of cruise industry practitioners.

        The purpose of the study was two-fold: to investigate the effects of a group-based book reading plus self-efficacy and outcome expectancy intervention on reading amount, perceived reading ability, reading behavior, and social cognitions and to examine influencing factors of book reading behaviors. Sixty-three sixth graders completed a ten-week book reading intervention in two experimental conditions: one with book-reading activities only and the other with a book-reading plus social cognition intervention. The control group (n=32) studied English in their regular English classes. Questionnaires were administered three times to assess the participants' social cognition, reading behavior, and perceptions of reading English books: right before and right after the intervention, and at eight weeks post intervention. The results showed positive effects of the intervention on reading amount, perceived reading ability, and reading behavior. Of the two experimental groups, the group that had received the book-reading plus social cognition intervention showed more positive results. At eight weeks post intervention, intervention effects on goal efficacy, reading behavior, and attitude toward reading were maintained. Social cognition was found to affect reading amount and behavior for the experimental groups. Research and practical implications are suggested.

        Although many theoretical and empirical studies consider violent games, general causality between violent games and aggression or violence is ambiguity. To overcome such limitations, we try to identify the focal points of violent games. This study aims to explore the critical debate about violent games from research result in terms of heading in opposite directions. Furthermore, we analyzed the discourse of the violent game based on catharsis theory and cognitive neoassociation theory. Catharsis theory predicts that 'venting' aggression through exposure to violence will reduce the risk of later aggressive behavior. On the contrary, cognitive neoassociation theory posits that aversive events produce negative affect such as aggression. Several recent studies found little evidence for a relationship between violent games and aggression or violence. Given that aggression is not negative, it is reasonable to study the potential benefits of violent games. Therefore, we suggested several ways to application the violent games based on prior literature.

        The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of VMD image appropriateness in apparel shopping contexts. Two competing models are utilized. The first model is developed from the emotion-cognition theory which explains that environmental cues(i.e., VMD image appropriateness) generate consumers' emotion, and in turn, consumers' behaviors. The second model is developed based on the cognitive theory of emotions and posits that environmental cues stimulates consumers' cognitive perceptions of retail environments, subsequently influencing consumers' emotional and behavioral response. A 2(VMD image appropriateness: high vs. low) between-subjects factorial design experiment was conducted. Female college students(n=592) participated in the experiment. Using structural equation modeling the study found that the emotion-cognition model better explains the effect of VMD image appropriateness on consumers' emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses.

        Using data from 132 telephone interviewees, we examined the role of affective-cognitive ambivalence in forming overall attitude and behavior toward toxic chemical and radioactive waste issues in Marion, Ohio in the U.S. In order to compare attitudinal preference, participants were divided into four A-C groups: action-group (Affective+/Cognitive+), detached-group (A-/C+), concerned-group (A+/C-), and inaction-group (A-/C-). Affective and cognitive components interacted, producing redundant influences on overall attitudes and judgments as frequently observed and postulated in previous attitude studies. The results showed that the action-group who were feeling unsafe and believed that environmental accidents had happened or are happening in Marion were less willing to move to the area than other three groups who were feeling safe and/or doubted reports of contamination and its relation with leukemia. Affective and cognitive components were found to have redundant influences on overall attitude. It was also observed that affective-cognitive ambivalence theory has a great potential for explaining the mechanism by which people form attitudes, especially when people have moderate or positive feelings (e.g. sympathy or eagerness for resources) toward the objects and/or when uncertainty is a major feature of environmental issue under consideration (e.g. global climate change).

        The paper examines social entrepreneurial intention through outcome expectations. The proposed model incorporates outcome expectations from social cognitive career theory and theory of planned behaviors. The study also introduces a scale for outcome expectations in social entrepreneurship, including solving social problems, innovation, family tradition of social involvement, meaning in life, prestige and social recognition, competitive and favorite job and wealth. A survey of 279 students was conducted through face-to-face structured interviews. The confirm factor analysis and technique of structural equation modeling were used to explore relationships among latent constructs. Research results show that the outcomes impact only through three determinants of theory of planned behavior and do not have significant impact to social entrepreneurial intention. It suggests that outcome expectations may be a flexible factor. Individual outcome expectations can shift to motivations when facing favorable conditions such as family support, government support, etc. The findings suggest that the ability to predict social entrepreneurial intention of attitude toward behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The proposed model in this study contributes importantly to the emerging literature on entrepreneurial intention, particularly to social entrepreneurial intention. This study is also the first quantitative study to measure the impact of outcome expectations on social entrepreneurial intention.

        목적: 본 연구에서는 사회인지이론에 근거하여 경쟁상황과 수행력수준의 상호작용에 따라 관찰학습이 자기효능감에 미치는 영향에 대해서 살펴보았다. 방법: 대학부 운동선수 211명을 중압감(고), 중압감(저), 일반상황 3개 집단으로 무선 할당 한 후, 수행력 수준에 따라 관찰학습이 자기효능감에 미치는 영향력을 검증하기 위해서 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과: 수행력이 높은 선수는 그렇지 않은 선수보다 중압감이 높은 시합상황에서 관찰학습이 자기-효능감을 강화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 중압감이 낮은 상황에서는 수행력 수준에 상관없이 관찰학습이 자기-효능감을 높여주었고, 이런 정적 영향력은 수행력이 낮은 선수가 높은 선수보다 높았다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 사회인지이론에서 제시한 인간행동에 대한 인지과정이 스포츠 영역에서 증명되었고, 경쟁상황에 따라 관 찰학습이 자기-효능감을 예측하는 정도는 달라졌다. 따라서 자기-효능감 측정 시, 스포츠에 존재하는 다양한 경쟁 상황을 함께 고려하는 것은 이론적으로나 실증적으로도 중요하다.

        환경-개인의 관계에서 인지와 동기를 포함하고 있는 정서는 인간 심리의 가장 근원적이며 역동적인 요소이다. 정서이론은 정서의 역동적 구성개념 간의 보편적 관계를 설명해 준다. 따라서 정서이론의 이해는 스포츠 정서연구와 실제적용에 큰 도움이 될 수 있다. Lazarus의 인지-동기-관계적 이론(cognitive-motivational-relational theory: CMRT)은 스포츠 정서연구와 정서조절의 중요한 기틀이 되고 있다. 이 논문은 CMRT의 구성개념과 요소들을 심도 있게 고찰하고, CMRT를 기반으로 시행된 최근의 스포츠 정서연구와 정서조절을 집중적으로 조명하는데 초점을 두었다. 나아가, 이 논문은 정서-인지-동기이론의 통합적 접근과 문화적 정서개념의 정립을 미래 스포츠 정서연구의 방향으로 제안했다.

        본 연구는 현재 어플리케이션 마켓 시장에 공급되고 있는 유아용 어플리케이션을 다양한 기준으로 분석하고, 유아들의 발달 특성 및 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 특성이 유아 교육용 어플리케이션에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지에 대한 가능성을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 아이폰 웹스토어 및 안드로이드 마켓 등의 교육 카테고리에 탑재되어 있는 어플리케이션 중 61개의 유아용 어플리케이션을 선정하였고, 학습 유형별 콘텐츠 유형, 인지부하원리, 멀티미디어 설계원리에 기반을 둔 분석기준을 토대로 유아용 어플리케이션을 분석하였다. 분석결과 좀 더 다양한 유형의 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었으며, 스마트폰의 성능을 최대한 활용할 수 있으며, 멀티미디어 설계원리를 준수하고, 무분별한 멀티미디어 사용을 지양하는 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었다.

        This paper presents a theoretical study for making intelligent robots with human-like mind. For the development of a cognitive mental model, we developed three algorithms based on the cognitive process for human psychoanalysis. Specifically, the concept of id, ego and superego from the theory of Sigmund Freud was adopted and the procedural algorithms were presented.
