This case report describes the pathological features of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis(PAP) in mouse. Grossly, multiple irregular yellow-grey patches were observed on the lung surface of a C57BL/6 mouse. Histopathologically, the alveolar walls were thickened by type II cell hyperplasia and cellular infiltrates, and the bronchioles and alveolar lumens were filled with amorphous eosinophilic lipoproteinaceous material. This material was positive for Periodic acid-Schiff stain. Gomori methenamine silver staining was negative. Immunohistochemical staining showed that cells in the alveolar wall and lumen were positive for surfactant protein B, chitinase-like protein-3, and CD68. As a result, PAP was diagnosed. This is a rare case of spontaneous PAP in mice, and we report the histopathological characteristics along with the literature.

자연발화 현상은 산업현장 또는 우리 생활 속 어디에서나 발생하며 물질이 대기 중에서 점 화원 없이 스스로 발화되는 현상이다. 화학반응 속도가 빨라져 발생하는 열이 증가하게 되어 자연발화의 위험성은 더욱 커진다. 본 연구에서는 식품과 화장품 소재로 이용되는 안전한 원료를 배합하여 다양한 자연발화 현상 중 특히 석탄 자연발화 방지제를 제조하였다. 인도네시아산 저열량, 저급탄에 대한 Lab 과 Field Test를 통하여 석탄 자연발화 억제 효과를 확인하였다. 옥외 현장 테스트 결과, 비교군(90일 후 발화)에 비하여 본 연구에서 제조한 발화방지제는 120일 이상 우수한 자연 발화억제 효과를 나타내었으 며 실내저탄장에서 50일 동안의 CO의 농도변화를 비교하여 CO 농도 제어 효과를 확인하였다. 비교군 인 석탄, 기존의 발화 방지 방법보다 우수한 결과를 확인하였다. 또한, 환경을 고려한 토양 및 수질 시 험, 작업 근로자를 고려한 발화방지제의 MSDS, 수질, 안 자극 등의 공인시험을 통하여 환경과 근로자 작업환경의 안전성 등을 연구하여 2024년부터 적용되는 실내저탄장용 석탄 발화방지제의 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

난자의 성숙과정과 노화에 관한 이해는 인공수정과 체외수정 최적기를 판단하기 위하여 가장 중요한 연구내용으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 기작은 번식 호르몬들에 의하여 조절되는 것으로 알려져 있으나 난자 세포질 변화에 관한 내용은 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 산화질소물(nitric oxide, NO)이 난자 성숙과정에서 증가하는 것을 밝혔으며 난자의 미성숙단계(germinal vesicle stage, GV)와 난자핵막붕괴단계(germinal vesicle breakdown, GVBD) 및 성숙완료단계(metaphase II, MII)단계에서 생산되는 NO의 양을 비교하였다. 또한, 난자를 체외에서 배양할 때, MII단계로 성숙되지 않는 성장 단계의 난자에서는 NO의 증가 현상을 관찰할 수 없었고, 세포질이 불균일한 노화된 난자에서는 NO가 증가된 상태로 유지되는 특성이 있음을 밝혔다. 이러한 결과는 NO의 작용이 난자의 성숙과정과 난자 노화과정에서 중요한 기능을 담당하고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

본 연구는 뇌 이완 요법이 중년건강과 어떤 관계가 있는지를 통계적이고 임상적인 방법으로 접근하였다. 중년이 되면 몸이 쇠약해지고 면역성이 떨어지게 된다. 이에 중년들은 다양한 자연치유프로그램에 참여하여 면역성을 높이는 뇌 이완요법 중 두개천골요법과 감정자유기법을 이용하고 있다. 이러한 뇌 이완요법이 자가 면역성강화에 영향을 미치는가를 분석하기 위하여 프로그램에 참여한 실험군의 뇌주파수 측정 평가와 설문을 이용한 주관적인 평가를 통하여 프로그램 전과 후에 대한 결론을 도출하였다. 자연치유 뇌 이완요법 교육프로그램이 자가면역성 향상에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구를 분석하기 위해서 두개천골요법(CST)과 감정자유기법(EFT)이 정서적 안정과 스트레스감소에 미치는 영향을 EGG(뇌파측정기)로 측정하였다. 자연치유 뇌 이완요법을 수행하기 위해서 서울시 관악구에 위치한 관악교육문화센터에 방문한 수강생과 자연치유 뇌 이완요법을 수강하고 교육을 100% 출석 수료한 교육생 36명을 대상으로 두개천골요법과 감정자유기법의 효과를 측정하기 위한 실험하여 치유적의미를 분석하였다. 그 결과 뇌 이완요법이 정서적 안정을 높이는 것으로 분석되었으며(p<0.05).스트레스감소와 자기효능감을 높이는 것으로 분석되었다(p>0.05). 따라서 뇌 이완요법은 뇌의 시냅스를 활성화시켜 정서적 안정, 스트레스감소, 자기효능감 등을 높이는 운동요법이 가능하다.

본 연구는 기계화학적 활성화 된 스카치테이프가 금속 이온 수용액에서 유발하는 자발적 금속 나노입자 필름 형성의 구동력과 그 크기를 전기화학적 방법으로 분석했다. 은 필름이 형성된 테이프를 질산에 녹이고, 완충용액과 섞어 전기화학 측정용 샘플을 준비했다. 양극 벗김 전압전류법의 피크 신호를 통해, 은 입자의 자발적 환원에 소모된 전하량을 측정했다. 이를 검정 곡선에 대입하여, 환원된 은의 양을 구했다. 그 결과 은의 양이 선행 연구 대비 106배 많은 점, 수용액에서 전하를 가진 이온들의 짧은 수명을 참고하여, 자발적 반응의 구동력을 라디칼로 결론 냈다.

Spontaneous motion is one of the most basic event types, but different languages use varying patterns to express it. For example, English usually encodes path information in prepositional phrases or adverbial particles, while Korean maps path information onto verbs (Talmy, 1985). This study predicts that this typological difference would affect English spontaneous motion expressions produced by Korean learners and analyzes two English-language speech corpora, one, the data from native speakers (600 recordings), and the other, data from L1-Korean learners of English (400 recordings). It finds that the learners significantly underuse satellite-framed patterns, but not verb-framed patterns, compared with the native speakers, suggesting that the L1 plays a role in their L2 production. The satellite-framed patterns, however, account for the greatest portion of spontaneous motion expressions in the L2 corpus, suggesting the dominant effect of input on L2 production. These findings lead to pedagogical implications concerning preventing L1 interference and fostering input-based L2 acquisition.

This study investigated cytogenetic and hematological and histological characteristics between diploid and spontaneous triploid on Cyprinidae (Crucian carp, Carassius auratus; crucian carp, C. cuvieri and common carp, Cyprinus carpio) in four major rivers of Korea. In our results, DNA contents of triploid Cyprinidae were 50% more than those of diploid Cyprinidae. Also, erythrocyte size of triploid Cyprinidae was 50% larger than those of diploid Cyprinidae. In all sampling rivers, sex ratios of C. auratus were biased to female, and especially, triploid groups of C. auratus were all female groups (p <0.05). In principle, sex ratios of C. cuvieri and common carp were equivalent between male and female.

The purpose of this study is to confirm whether spontaneous adipocyte generation during chondrogenic induction culture affects the chondrogenic differentiation of porcine skin-derived stem cells (pSSCs). For this purpose, chondrogenic differentiation characteristics and specific marker gene expression were analyzed using cell lines showing different characteristics of spontaneous adipocyte formation. Of the four different lines of pSSCs, the pSSCs-IV line showed higher Oil red O (ORO) and glycosaminoglycan (GAG) extraction levels. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis revealed that the levels of adipogenic markers peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma 2 (PPARγ2) and adipocyte Protein 2 (aP2) mRNAs were significantly higher in pSSCs-IV than those of the other pSSC lines (P<0.05). Among three chondrogenic markers, collagen type II (Col II) and sex determining region Y-box (Sox9) mRNAs were strongly expressed in pSSCs-IV (P<0.05), but not in aggrecan (Agg), which was significantly higher in pSSCs-II (P<0.05). These results demonstrate that the spontaneous adipocyte generation during chondrogenic differentiation has a positive effect on the chondrogenesis of pSSCs. More research is needed on the correlation between adipocyte generation and cartilage formation.

Superovulation is a technique to acquire rats to produce many eggs than normal rats. Superovulated eggs were used to make cloned animals through somatic cell nuclear transfer technology (SCNT). Healthy and valuable oocyte retrieval is essential for successful somatic cell nuclear transfer. Superovulation is also essential to maximize to the yield of IVF-derived rat eggs. Osmotic pumps (Alzet®) are miniature in order to provide research with a convenient, and reliable alternative to chronic injections. Acquiring superovulated oocytes through osmotic pump in minimizing irritation to the uterus and ovaries are competitive. We investigated the effects of pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) and human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) using osmotic pump in sDM rat. Adult female rats at 11 wks of age were used for superovulation. The response to PMSG and hCG were examined by osmotic pump of 150 IU/kg PMSG + 75 IU/kg hCG or 150 IU/kg PMSG + 150 IU/kg hCG or 300 IU/kg PMSG + 150 IU/kg hCG or 300 IU/kg PMSG + 300 IU/kg hCG. HCG was administered 48 hrs later after administration of PMSG. Oocytes were collected from the oviducts 16–18 hrs after hCG administration. Superovulation was significantly higher in rats administrated 150 IU/kg PMSG + 75 IU/kg hCG. This study demonstrated that healthy oocytes were produced in DM rat by PMSG and hCG that flowed through the osmotic pump ameliorate on uterus and ovaries.

Several species show low sensitivity to IVM, and the development of optimized medium possible oocyte quality and stable growth. Furthermore, adding additive to the medium can effectively reducing development cost and leads to easy handling of oocytes. Isoliquritigenin and formononetin are extracts found in licorice. Previous studies reported that isoliquritigenin and formononetin affected the activity of sperm, but the oocytes are unknown. This study adds isoliquritigenin or formononetin to αMEM to mature oocytes under simple IVC conditions. Recovered oocytes are cultured in αMEM, isoliquritigenincontaining medium and formononetin-containing medium. In study we proved that in addition to the medium, above the quality of oocytes cultured when specific additives were added, more stable growth is possible. collection and IVM of oocyte. SD rats at 6 to 8 wks of age are injected is intraperitoneal with 30 IU/mL of PMSG and 48 hrs later, HCG 50 IU/mL is intraperitoneal injected. Oocytes are collected ovary after 17 hrs. Collected oocytes are cultured for 16 hrs with 200 μL αMEM and 200 μL αMEM containing isoliquritigenin or formononetin at 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.04, 0.1 mg/mL. Also, isoliquritigenin and formononetin were mixed with 200 μL αMEM at a ratio of 0.25: 0.75, 0.50: 0.50, and 0.75: 0.25 mg/mL respectively. Oocytes supplemented with isoliquritigenin and Formononetin had high quality than oocytes cultured with αMEM and showed an increase in the IVF fertility rate. Our experimental results indicate that using isoliquritigenin, formononetin when cell culture, rather than used only in medium, more effective oocyte quality and stable growth.

총담관의 자발적 천공은 흔하지 않으며, 이에 대해 충분한 연구와 경험이 부족한 상태이다. 본 저자들은 원인을 알 수 없는 복통과 난치성 복수를 호소하는 환자에서 총담관의 자발적 천공을 진단하고, 내시경역행담췌관조영술을 통한 완전피막형 자가팽창형 금속스텐트의 삽입술과 보존적 치료를 통하여 치료에 성공했던 증례를 경험하였기에 보고한다.

췌장의 점액성 낭성 종양(mucinous cystic neoplasm)은 국내 다기관 연구에 의하면 전체 췌장 낭성 종양의 약 25%를 차지하고 있다. 대부분 중년 여성에게 호발하고, 병변은 췌장 체부 및 미부에 위치하며, 점액성 낭선암(mucinous cystadenocarcinoma) 으로 악화될 수 있는데, 크기가 서서히 증가하므로 이의 파열은 매우 드문 합병증이다. 저자들은 72세 남성에서 발생한 췌장 점액성 낭선암의 자발 파열 증례를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

This study employed the first-person shooter task(FPST: Correll, Park, Judd, & Wittenbrink, 2002) paradigm to examine racial bias toward Blacks in a population unrelated to the Black-White racial context. We tested whether having Korean participants play the role of a White police officer portrayed as nonracist (vs. racist) would attenuate the bias to shoot Black suspects. Participants were told that they would perform a police simulation task as a White police officer, who was described as racist or nonracist, or was presented without a description. They then performed the FPST. Although nonracist description lowered shooter bias, racist description weakened it even more, contrary to our prediction. The latter result is interpreted as due to activation of an egalitarian goal after reading about racism-related description, especially as the description was about someone who was to be incorporated to the self. Supporting this interpretation, a mediation analysis involving Racist and Control conditions revealed that the racist description was associated with stronger perception of the officer’s racial bias, which in turn was correlated with weaker shooter bias.

A 6-year old, Greyhound bitch was presented with vaginal hemorrhage and dystocia. Physical examination revealed severe vaginal hemorrhage, abdominal pain, pale mucous membranes and the presence of solid structures to abdominal palpation. A hematological test revealed a marked hemorrhagic anemia, and abdominal radiography and ultrasonographic examination showed two dead fetuses in the uterus. Median laparotomy revealed a rupture of the left uterine horn adjacent to the bifurcation, region of weakened uterine wall in the right uterine horn, blood clots and uterine fluids in abdominal cavity without septic peritonitis. The bitch underwent ovariohysterectomy and recovered without complication.

본 연구에서는 자발적인 웃음과 인위적인 웃음을 변별하는 데 있어서 일반 사람들의 정확도와 컴퓨터를 이용한 분류 알고리즘의 정확도를 비교하였다. 실험참가자들은 단일 영상 판단 과제와 쌍비교 판단과제를 수행하였다. 단일 영상판단 과제는 웃음 영상을 한 장씩 제시하면서 이 영상의 웃음이 자발적인 것인지 인위적인 것인지를 판단하는 것이었으며, 쌍비교 판단과제는 동일한 사람에게서 얻은 두 종류의 웃음 영상을 동시에 제시하면서 자발적인 웃음 영상이 어떤 것인지 판단하는 것이었다. 분류 알고리즘의 정확도를 산출하기 위하여 웃음 영상 각각에서 8 종류의 얼굴 특성치들을 추출하였다. 약 50%의 영상을 사용하여 단계적 선형판별분석을 수행하였으며, 여기서 산출된 판별함수를 이용하여 나머지 영상을 분류하였다. 단일 영상에 대한 판단결과, 단계적 선형판별분석의 정확도가 사람들의 정확도보다 높았다. 쌍비교에 대한 판단결과도 단계적 선형판별분석의 정확도가 사람들의 정확도보다 높았다. 20명의 실험참가자 중 선형판별분석의 정확도를 넘어서는 사람은 없었다. 판별분석에 중요하게 사용된 얼굴 특성치는 눈머리의 각도로, 눈을 가늘게 뜬 정도를 나타낸다. Ekman의 FACS에 따르면, 이 특성치는 AU 6에 해당한다. 사람들의 정확도가 낮은 이유는 두 종류의 웃음을 구별할 때, 눈에 관한 정보를 충분히 사용하지 않았기 때문으로 추론되었다.

본 연구는 전북 임실 대말방죽의 문화경관적 요소와 식생경관적 특성을 면밀히 검토함으로써 임실 지역의 관광 레크리에이션적 공간이자 생태체험 공간으로서의 잠재력과 활용 및 보존방향을 모색하기 위해 시도되었다.약 730㎡ 규모의 방지원도(方池圓島)를 갖춘 관란정(觀瀾亭)은 지역문화의 중심공간으로서 오래전부터 문화공간이자공원으로서의 성격을 보여온 것으로 판단된다. 대말방죽은 조선시대에 송호(松湖)라고 불렀던 것으로 보아 주변에소나무가 울창했을 것으로 추정되며 오금사(五金寺)라는 절과 절 우측으로 칠성암(七星巖)이라는 바위는 이 지역의장소 특성을 설명하는 중요한 징표가 되고 있으며 ‘반보기문화’ 등 휴양 레크리에이션공간이자 지역의 명소로서 활용되어온 것으로 보인다. 대말방죽 외곽에 펼쳐진 소나무와 왕버들로 구성된 숲은 물을 차단하기 위해 하천부 수위 이하에구조물을 설치함으로써 구축되는 벽 혹은 제방에 심어 그 기능을 보다 강화할 목적으로 조성된 ‘방죽숲(cofferdamgrove)’으로 정의되며 대말방죽의 주요 식물상으로는 가시연꽃을 비롯하여 줄과 어리연꽃, 노랑어리연꽃, 마름 등이군락을 이루고 있다. 주연부에는 수련, 갈대 등이 관찰된다. 임실 대말방죽은 경남 함안의 우포늪과 홍성의 역재저수지가시연꽃 군락지와 비교해서 규모나 경관면에서 뒤지지 않는 가시연꽃 자연군락지로 주변의 문화경관요소와의 연계를통한 경관형성 및 보전관리가 시급히 요구된다.

Aurora A kinase is a mitotic serine/threonine kinase whose proposed functions include the maturation of centrosomes, G2/M transition, alignment of chromosomes at metaphase, and cytokinesis. In this study, we investigated the effect of MLN8237, an aurora A kinase inhibitor, on the postovulatory aging of oocytes based on the frequency of oocyte fragmentation, cdk1 kinase activity, and cyclin B degradation. The fragmentation of ovulated oocytes during prolonged culture was inhibited by treatment with MLN8237 in a concentration-dependent manner. The frequency of fragmented oocytes was significantly lower in oocytes treated with 2 μM MLN8237 (13%) than in control oocytes (64%) after two days of culture. Most of the control (non-fragmented) oocytes (91%) were activated after two days of culture. In comparison, only 22% of the MLN8237-treated oocytes were activated; the rest of the oocytes (78%) were still in metaphase with an abnormal spindle and dispersed chromosomes. Next, cdk1 activity and the level of cyclin B were examined. The level of cyclin B and cdk1 activity in MLN8237-treated oocytes were nearly equal to those in control oocytes. Our results indicate that MLN8237 inhibited the fragmentation of ovulated oocytes during prolonged culture, although it blocked the spontaneous decrease in activity of cdk1 and degradation of cyclin B. This mechanism of inhibition is different from that in oocytes treated with nocodazole, which have high levels of cdk1 activity and cyclin B.
