Some important problems for the bimodal initial mass function(IMF) of field stars in the solar neighborhood, the relation of the IMF of field stars with the combined IMF of open star clusters and the time-dependent IMF of young star clusters are discussed particularly by comparing their observed and computed present day mass functions.

Rapid progress in modern computer industries now enables us to solve the Einstein equations numerically. In the first part of this paper we briefly review how to deal with those equations in relativistic astrophysics and cosmology. In the second part we introduce two examples-the Centrella and Wilson's cosmology and the Shapiro and Teukolsky's relativistic stellar cluster.

20cm 태양망원경이 소백산 천문대에서 대덕 천문우주과학연구소로 이전 설치된 후, 1987년 6월 19일 부터 1990년 11월 30일까지 흑점관측을 수행하여 343개의 흑점관측자료를 얻었다. 본 관측기간중 일일 평균 흑점상대수는 83.4로, 매일 평균 5개의 흑점군과 30개의 흑점이 관측되었다. 관측된 월평균 흑점상대수를 분석한 결과에 의하면 1986년 9월에 시작한 제22 태양활동 주기의 극대기는 1989년 9월경으로 밝혀졌다. 국제 흑점 상대수와 비교 가능한 292개의 관측 자료를 사용하여 대덕 태양망원경의 규격화 상수 K를 결정하였으며, 그 간은 소백산 천문대의 규격화 산수 0.87보다 큰 1.08로 밝혀진다.

복사전달식, 통계평형식 및 전하 입자 보존식을 동시에 만족시키는 비열평형상태의 대기에 대하여 그 방출원자스펙트럼을 수치계산하였다. 등온, 중압의 비열평형 태양홍염을 대상모델로 선정하였는데 여기에 적응한 제한조건중 복사전달에 관련된 편미분방정식은 3점 근사 차분법에 의해 정리하였고 홍염중심에 대칭성을 가정하여 경제조건을 부여하였으며 대기의 물리상태에 관련된 비선형 연립방정식의 해는 완전선형화 기법을 통한 퓨트리에 소거법을 이용해 구하였다.

The temperature effects of the KNU UBV photometric system are investigated, using the HAMAMATSU 1P21 data. The variation of the passband width of V-band with temperature is about 5\AA/∘C while those of B-band and U-band are negligible. This large effect of V-band causes a significant variation of V-mag. and (B-V)-color with temperature such as ∼0.02mag/∘C ∼0.02mag/∘C in both cases. This result strongly suggests that in the photometric observations of binary stars, the temperature effects of the response of photomultiplier and the passband of filters must be considered to avoid the systematic variation in magnitude and color particularly at the minimum of light curve.

Wangjo Silok, the official chronicle of Lee Dynasty, carries 131 records on the Kepler Supernova 1604; all of them are given in the present report. Among them 112 records are detailed descriptions about the observed brightness variation over the period from October 13, 1604 (the 37th year of King Sunjo) to April 23, 1605. On July 14, 1605, an addendum is given as a final assessment of the guest star incidence. Since the apparent brightness, size and position are carefully described as compared to bright planets and stars, these records are ideal for retrieving light curve of the Kepler Supernova over the seven month period. Simple procedures are suggested for the derivation of light curve.

일반인에게 널리 보급된 IBM 계열의 16비트 PC(XT, AT)로도 손쉽게 도형출력이 가능한 천문 계산용 포트란 그래픽 라이브러리를 CALCOMP계의 문법에 맞추어 개발하였다. 본 라이브러리를 사용하면 그래픽 어댑터(HGC, CGA, EGA, VGA)에 임의로 대응되는 화면출력과 XY플롯터는 물론이거니와 EPSON계의 9핀 혹은 24핀 도트프린터에 의한 고품질(9핀 프린터; 0.21mm/dot, 24핀 프린터; 0.14mm/dot)의 도형출력이 가능하다. 프린터에 의해 출력 가능한 도형의 크기는 하드디스크의 용량이 허용하고 처리 속도를 인내할 수 있는 한 무한대로 확장할 수 있는데 비교적 빠른 시간 내에 처리할 수 있는 표준 도형 크기로서 최대 작도 범위를 80 컬럼용 프린터 용지 한 페이지 크기인 25cm×20cm 25cm×20cm를 지정하였다.
