        A smart connective control system was invented recently for coupling control of adjacent buildings. Previous studies on this topic focused on development of control algorithm for the smart connective control system and design method of control device. Usually, a smart control devices are applied to building structures after structural design. However, because structural characteristics of building structure with control devices changes, a iterative design is required for optimal design. To defeat this problem, an integrated optimal design method for a smart connective control system and connected buildings was proposed. For this purpose, an artificial seismic load was generated for control performance evaluation of the smart coupling control system. 20-story and 12-story adjacent buildings were used as example structures and an MR (magnetorheological) damper was used as a smart control device to connect adjacent two buildings. NSGA-II was used for multi-objective integrated optimization of structure-smart control device. Numerical simulation results show the integrated optimal design method proposed in this study can provide various optimal designs for smart connective control system and connected buildings presenting good control performance.

        Recent changes in the construction method of piles to minimize noise, along with the development of high-strength reinforcement, have provided an economical high performance RC pile development to compensate for the disadvantages of existing PHC piles. In this study, a methodology for the development of cross - section details of high performance RC piles of various performances is presented by freely applying high strength steel and concrete. This study suggested a technique for calculating bending moments for a given axial force corresponding to the allowable crack widths and this can be used for serviceablity check. In calculating the design shear force, the existing design equation applicable to the rectangular or the I section was modified to be applicable to the hollow circular section. In particular, in the limit state design method, the shear force is calculated in proportion to the axial force, and the procedure for calculating PV diagram is established. Last, the section details are determined through PM diagrams that they have the similar flexural and axial-flexural performances of the PHC pile A, B and C types with a diameter of 500 mm. To facilitate the application of the selected standard sections to the practical tasks, the design PM diagram and design shear forces are proposed in accordance with the strength design method and limit state design method.

        Seismic performance of ordinary reinforced concrete shear wall systems commonly used in high-rise residential buildings is evaluated. Three types of shear walls exceeding 60m in height are designed by performance-based seismic design. Then, incremental dynamic analysis is performed collapse probability is assessed in accordance with the procedure of FEMA P695. As a result, story drift, plastic rotation, and compressive strain are observed to be major failure modes, but shear failure occur little. Collapse probability and collapse margin ratio of performance groups do not meet requirement of FEMA P695. It is observed that critical wall elements fail due to excessive compressive strain. Therefore, the compressive strain of concrete at the boundary area of the shear wall needs to be evaluated with more conservative acceptance criteria.

        A steering knuckle for a car is a key part of a corner module and is a functional part connected to steering, suspension, and braking devices. Steering knuckles are used for various types of forging and machining methods such as casting forging, aluminum forging, etc. to perform productivity and quality. Therefore, in this study, we study about the development of the overall design of the steering knuckle in the production and supply of the steering knuckle for the product processing method, quality, assembly inspection, etc. through the modeling and analysis of the steering knuckle.

        In this theoretical study, a design and performance analysis theory of a micro flowrate and high pressure air-compressor is developed. The governing equations are from the gas state equation and fluid dynamic theories because the working fluid in the air compressor is in a gas phase. A case study was conducted to design a reciprocating type of air compressor which the target performance was 0.6liter/min in the volume flowrate with 5atg in air pressure at 1,600rpm rotational speed. Geometrical size of the model air compressor designed is 10mm in stroke, 20mm in bore with 4.79 compression ratio. From the performance analysis of the model compressor, it was found that the air volume flowrate produced was 0.6liter/min with 5.81atg in pressure. The design theory of a micro-size high-pressure air compressor developed in this study is expected to be very useful design tools in NANO technology industry.

        The design and analysis of the rigidity and deformation of the vehicle body are basically performed in two forms. First, the relative response of components separated from a parent system or connected as a model of a subsystem is examined. Second, the entire model is used to consider the absolute response of the components to the externally transmitted vehicle service load, which is defined as that of the entire vehicle body system. In this paper, we propose the finite element modeling for the structural design of the car body. First, we will explain the simple finite element modeling of the car body, explain the method of formulating the stiffness of the joint, and finally the shell element. The proposed finite element modeling is proposed. By applying the proposal, it is possible to propose finite element modeling of all medium and large passenger cars less than 3 tons.

        Robot manipulators are highly nonlinear system with multi-inputs multi-outputs, and various control methods for the robot manipulators have been developed to acquire good trajectory tracking performance and improve the system stability lately. The computed torque controller has nonlinear feedforward control elements and so it is very effective to control robot manipulators. If the control gains of the computed torque controller is adjusted according the payload, then more precise control performance is attained. This paper extends the conventional computed torque controller in the joint space to the Cartesian space, and optimize the control gains for some specified payloads in both joint and Cartesian spaces using genetic algorithms. Also a neural network is employed to have proper control gains for arbitrary payloads using generalization properties of the neural network. Computer simulation results show that the proposed control system for robot manipulators has excellent performance in various conditions.

        백두산에서는 밀레니엄 대분화 이후로도 수차례의 화산활동이 계속되어 마그마 거동 감시 연구의 필요성이 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 마그마방의 깊이 및 규모를 파악하기 위해서는 다양한 지구물리학적 접근이 필요하며, 본 연구에서는 전기비저항 탐사의 적용성을 검토하고자 한다. 국경으로 인해 공간적 제한이 있는 백두산에서 심부에 위치한 마그마를 탐사하기 위해서는 측선의 길이가 수십 킬로미터 이상이 되는 대규모 전기탐사가 이루어져야 하며, 이를 위해 서는 분산계측 시스템의 도입과 이에 최적화된 탐사 설계가 필수적으로 요구된다. 따라서 자체 개발된 분산계측 시스템을 활용하는 탐사설계안을 제시하고 전산실험을 통해 적용 가능성을 분석하였다. 단일 측선과 비동일선상 송신원 배열을 사용한 탐사설계안을 이용하여 다수의 측선 설치가 필요한 일반적인 3차원 탐사에 준하는 역산 해석 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 이 탐사설계안이 백두산 심부 물리탐사에 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
