        Bar type waveguides are frequently employed as a buffer rod between ultrasonic senor and hard-to-access object in many measurement applications. Difficulty in pulse echo measurements using a buffer rod is caused by spurious echoes due to reflection, mode conversion and interference within the buffer rod of finite size. These spurious echoes degrade the signal to noise ratio (SNR) because of their possible interference with desired target signals. A tapered buffer rod or rods with non-symmetrical cross sections were used before to reduce these unwanted spurious echoes. In this paper, we propose signal processing techniques to remove the spurious echo signals. Experiments were performed in order to examine the refocusing and recovering the initial input waveform in the long range propagation of ultrasonic waves in cylindrical waveguides. Two different time reversal processes (regular TR and reciprocal TR or inverse filtering) are tested and the experimental results were compared

        Plates are frequently used in constructing nuclear power plant structures as a structural member. Creating holes in plates, complying with the function, may sometimes is needed. As the buckling may cause the plate to be failed, this study deals with investigating the effects of the thickness of the plate having through holes on its buckling. A range of thicknesses from 1mm to 10mm is considered for the plate to be investigated. Two holes of diameters of 10mm are created in the plate. The load having the magnitude of 1N/m is applied on the left edge of the plate. Both plates with and without holes are investigated. Results showed that thin plates can fail due to geometrical failure while thick plates may fail due to materials failure. The maximum difference in buckling load between the plate with hole and without hole has occurred for the plate having the thickness of 6mm.

        One-dimensional flux theory (1DFT) is conventionally used for design of secondary clarifier of wastewater treatment plant. However, the 1DFT cannot describe turbulence, density current, shape parameters of the clarifier. In this study, we optimized the configurations of influent guide baffle and effluent baffle through the simulation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and its verification by particle image velocity (PIV) test. The energy dissipating inlet (EDI) without influent guide baffle (0°) showed the best efficiency for minimizing downward velocity under the center well of the clarifier. The lowest velocity distribution around the effluent weir region could be obtained with the McKinney baffle (EB-2). The performances of the influent and effluent baffles were clearly verified by PIV test results.

        Tool tips of the circular saw for the steel cutting have commonly applied to brazing type welded the saw body to tips. In this case, when the tool tip is required to the exchange, many problems were occurred as the exchange cost is high and its time is long. In this study, to resolve the brazing type circular saw, the insert type circular saw has designed and made. Also, to confirm the performance of new type circular saw, the various experiments were carried out under condition of tip's shape and machining conditions.

        This study aims to conduct a investigation on the gusset of a Kimono sleeve to achieve excellent movability through an evaluation of its fit wearing by conducting comparative research in terms of the length of the gusset pattern according to sleeve angle, which having a great effect on the wearing and activity of the top of a Kimono sleeve. A prototype was manufactured by developing the basic Kimono sleeve based on the method of Ernestine Kopp’s basic bodice pattern. The sleeve angles which was applied to the prototype pattern of the Kimono sleeve ware approximately 50°, 70° and the gusset was diamond-shaped which has a width of 10cm and lengths of 9cm, 10cm and 11cm. As a result, in the case of 55° of the sleeve angle, the angle was gradually increased as the length of gusset was extended, although, in the case of 68° of the sleeve angle, there was not remarkable effects between increased gusset length and the value of the angle. This result could be analyzed that the gusset did not affect remarkably since the sufficient movability was gained with only the angle in the case of 68°. Also, in the results of experiment on 55° angle, as 9cm, 10cm and 11cm of length of gusset commonly indicated over 70° in average, it was found that the movability was obtained sufficiently in every part.

        고속도로 영업소 진입로에는 운전자에게 주의환기를 주기 위해 횡방향 럼블스트립이 설치되어 있다. 이러한 럼블스트립은 대부분 직사각형 형상을 갖고 있다. 럼블스트립의 형상에 따라 소음의 특성이 다르게 나타나는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 직사각형 형태의 럼블스트립을 원형의 럼블스트립으로 개선함에 따른 소음특성 변화에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 서울외곽순환고속도로 영업소 광장에 개선된 원형 형상의 럼블스트립을 적용하고, 사후 모니터링을 실시하여 개선 전·후의 소음특성에 대해 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과, 럼블스트립의 개선 전·후 소음특성은 개선후의 교통량이 증가했음에도 소음은 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 차량주행속도는 개선 전·후 모두 약 58km/h로 거의 유사하게 나타났다. 원형의 럼블 스트립이 직사각형 형상의 럼블스트립보다 시간대별로 약 1~3dB(A)의 소음저감 효과가 나타났다. 이런 현장적용의 결과를 볼 때, 횡방향 럼블스트립의 다양한 규격(럼블스트립의 간격, 깊이, 형상 등)에 대한 추가적인 연구를 진행하면 더 우수한 성능의 럼블스트립 규격을 개발할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        One of the distinguished literary critics in the 20th century Northrop Frye is fully qualified to be remembered and positively reevaluated in the study of literature and religion. However, his literary world has not been adequately studied by Korean scholars and literary critics. For this reason the purpose of this paper is to introduce his literary world and examine it with the perspective of literary-biblical scholarship. The archetypal criticism has been regarded as his peculiar method for combining myth with proclamation(kerygma). According to him, the Bible is literature wearing the cloth of a sufficient metaphor. And in the Bible there are various mythic stories built in metaphor. In many cases myth reveals its own meaning in a form of typology. Typology is a manner of combination between archetype and antitype. The Old Testament is combined by typology with the New Testament. Frye pays attention to the importance of myth in the Bible in the atmosphere of depreciation of myth in the field of biblical studies, which was initiated by the biblical scholar R. Bultmann. His schematic framework stands on the archetypological interpretation of the Bible. Frye constantly negotiates Christian typology and mythic archetype. Also he enriches typology with patterns drawn from comparative anthropology. His archetypological interpretation surely widens our eyes to see the mythic wholeness and unity of the Bible. Of course there has been some criticisms of his insights and method. That is, his reading of the Bible through the archetypology revives a form of Christian supersessionism that detaches the Hebrew Scriptures from the shifting complications of their particular realizations. However, his academic achievements cannot be depreciated by few problems. As he quotes Bruno’s saying(Est aliquid prodisse tenus) in the introduction of the Great Code, it is great that he preceded to a certain extent in the study of literature and religion.

        This paper presents the theoretical analysis for the flow driven by surface tension and gravity force in an inclined circular tube. The governing equation is developed to describe the displacement of a Newtonian fluid that continuously flew into a circular tube by surface tension, which represents a second-order, nonlinear, nonhomogeneous and ordinary differencial form. It was found that the theoretical predictions of the governing equation were excellent agreement with the unsteady state solutions for horizontal tube and the results of force balance equation for steady state.

        The founder of the ‘Paik In - Je House in Ga Hui Dong’ in the Bukchon Hanok Village was found as Han Sang- Ryong (1880.11.14. ~ 1947.?) and the time when it was built was by the late June in 1913. Han Sang Ryong was the director of the HanSung Bank during the Japanese colonial period and he was the industrialist in the management committee and the economy coordinator in the economic area. The way how he could accumulate the huge amount of money was because his Uncle Lee Yoon Yong and Lee Wan Yong brothers were participating in various concessions under the protection of the colony government such as Chosun colonial government. Through seven years of preparation for building the mansion, the social function he presented to his house was ‘the house built for the banquet hall’. He invited many celebrities of politics and economy to this house and built his fundaments for his social activity through interactions. To solve the construction concept, he used the way of ‘duplicity and juxtaposition’, and his mansion was reborn as a modernized urban Hanok through the reinterpretation by his program out of the old Confucian rules. Han Sang Ryong’s mansion is significant and valuable in the period since it was a pioneer in challenging the creative housing in the developing stage of Hanok in early modern era, and the highest social level people were trying to show off through the Hanok as a product.

        It is known that seismic performance of existing bridges having insufficient lateral confinements and lap-splices of longitudinal reinforcements at the base of column decreases dramatically. In this study, small-scaled model tests have been performed to confirm the seismic behaviors of RC bridge piers with various lap-splice lengths. The 8 test models have circular section with diameters of 0.65 m, 0.8 m, 1.0 m, and lap-splice lengths of B-class or C-class. The test results show that the failure modes of models are not depending on the lap-splice length itself but depend on the ratio of lap-splice length to diameter, and that the displacement ductility is also affected by this ratio.

        본 연구는 수수× 수수 교잡종의 원형 곤포 및 트렌치 사일리지의 부위에 따른 사료가치 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 천안에 위치한 국립축산과학원 자원개발부 에서수행되었다. 수수× 수수 교잡종 SS405는 5월초순에 파종한 다음 출수기에 수확하여 사일리지로 조제하였다. 원형 곤포사일리지의 조단백질, NDF 함량 및 in vitro 건물소화율은 트랜치사일리지와 비슷한 수준을 보였으나 NDF 및TDN 함량에서는 원형 곤포사일리지 보다 트랜치 사일리지에서 약간 증가하였다. 사일리지부위별 조단백질 함량은 외부나 중간부위 보다내부에서 약간의 감소를 보였으나(p<0.05),NDF, ADF 및 TDN 함량 및 in vitro 건물소화율에서는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 원형 곤포사일리지의 젖산 함량은 트랜치 사일리지 보다유의적으로 감소하였으며(p<0.05) 초산 함량도감소하는 경향을 보였을 뿐 유의차는 나타나지않았다. 그리고 사일리지 부위별 젖산, 초산 및낙산 함량은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다.

        이 연구는 국내 원형교차로에서 발생한 교차로 사고를 다루고 있다. 연구의 목적은 ZAM을 이용하여 원인별 사고모형을 개발하는데 있다. 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교차로 운행방법 위반에서는 ZINB 모형이 적합한 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 안전거리 미확보에서도 ZINB 모형이 적합한 것으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로 공통변수로는 교통량과 회전차로 폭이 선정되었다. 교통량이 많을수록 그리고 회전차로 폭이 좁을수록 사고가 많이 발생하는 것으로 분석되었다. 특정변수로는 접근로수와 감속 시설수가 채택되었고, 접근로수가 증가할수록 그리고 감속시설수가 적을수록 사고가 증가하는 것으로 분석되었다. 이 연구는 원형교차로 사고연구에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

        이 연구의 목적은 중공원형 철근콘크리트 교각의 횡방향철근에 따른 지진거동을 파악하고 합리적이면서 경제적인 내진 설계기준의 개발을 위한 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 3개의 중공원형 교각 실험체에 일정 축하중 하에서 횡방향 반복하중을 가하는 준정적실험을 수행하였다. 정확하고 올바른 성능평가를 위하여 신뢰성 있는 비선형 유한요소해석 프로그램을 사용하였다. 이용된 해석기법은조사된 실험체에 대하여 하중단계에 따라 내진성능을 비교적 정확하게 예측하였다. 실험적, 해석적 결과로부터 중공원형 철근콘크리트교각의 설계와 시공 실무를 향상하기 위한 내진상세를 제시하였다.
