Derivation of stage-discharge relationship and characteristics for Yangsan river is presented in this paper. This research has been conducted as the second one after the first trial in 1997. The determination of discharge at a Yangsan river gauging was best made by measuring the flow velocities with a current meter and rod float. The rating curve obtained through 52 stage-discharge measurements on Yangsan river basin in 1999 is represented by Q=15.3540-140.6076H+182.44372H2, which is discovered to be most excellent among other curves in reliability analysis. The observed stage-discharge data for Yangsan river was tested by HEC-RAS program, and reproduction of discharge by the induced curve was investigated and compared with the computational results. The rating curve of Yangsan river shows characteristics of Yangsan river more accurately compared with those separated in terms of water levels.
Simulation model for diffusion of oil spill is developed. The model can perform real time simulation in the case of oil spill accident in the ocean. The model consists of three dimensional ocean circulation model and model for diffusion of oil spill. Real time flow fields which are used in the calculation of advection of oil spill are obtained in the three dimensional ocean circulation model. The model for diffusion of oil spill includes the evaporation dissolution emulsification and downward diffusion. For the verification of the model it is applied to the oil spill from the accident of Sea Prince. The results shows good agreement.
The actual condition of farmstead, mainly livestock facility, was surveyed in ChungChongBukDo in order to find out factors and problems of farmstead planning design. From the data collected, a type, plot, size and scope of farmstead, relationship of house and farmstead, topography, climate, proprietor's opinion on them were analyzed or obtained as the basic design criteria for planning: designs. The best type of farmsteads was individual farm having livestock facilities. They were mostly breeding a kind of livestock without their plan and Bone planning at residing area. The south aspect of the facility was extremely much and slope of the land was mostly 15。 below. Wind blows from East-South in summer and winter wind are West-North extremely much. Sun heat was mostly above 6 hours. In the case of collective and composite farmstead, proprietors wanted that a head of cow has 1,000-3,000 pyeong, the area of facility has 1,500-2,000 pyeong, total area of farmstead has 45,000-400,000 pyeong and an estimated expense is 0.2 - 1.5 billion won. Farmstead planning design was proposed through field survey results and contents of'references. Examples of farmstead planning design were composite and concentrated type and existed according to the situation of road(North, South, East, and West).
A theoretical model for the over-all ship's magnetism was developed, on the assumption that the magnetism of a three-island type vessel can be regarded as that of the prolate spheroidal magnetic body. Modelled values were determined by the simulation on the base of the theoretical analysis of the magnetic field around the above-mentioned magnetic body. The real values were made of the data observed from four different three-islands type vessels alongside the piers. The agreement between the modelled and real values was found to be accurate.
In order to provide a basic information to locate the sensor of remote-indicating magnetic compass onboard, an empirical model for the over-all ship's magnetism was developed based on the periodicity of the observed magnetic field around the vessels. The values of model parameters were determined by least-square method and optimum numbers of them were fixed using Akaike's information criterion theory, and also an approximation method to determine parameter was proposed based on the symmetrical characteristic of observed data versus ship's length. The confidence level of the newly developed models was tested by analysis of variance method. The agreement between the modelled and real values was found to be remarkably accurate.
