        경남 남해도 연안해역에서 조업중인 낭장망에 의해 채집되는 어류의 종조성 및 계절 변동을 조사하기 위해서 1989년 5월부터 1990년 4월까지 1년간 매달 어류를 채집하였다. 낭장망에 의해 채집된 어류는 총 56종이었다. 멸치가 가장 많이 어획되었으며, 그 다음으로 붕장어, 갈치, 밴댕이, 청멸이 많이 어획되었다. 이들 6어종은 채집된 어류 총 개체수의 93.9%와 총 어획량의 73.8%를 차지하였다. 본 조사해역에서 채집된 어류의 대부분은 10cm 이하의 작은 체장을 지닌 소형 어종이거나, 대형 어종의 유어로 구성되어 있었다. 낭장망에 의한 어확물은 뚜렷한 계절변동을 보였다. 채집어종수는 봄과 가을에, 채집 개체수와 생체량은 봄에 높은 값을 보였다. 그러나 겨울에는 채집 개체수 및 생체량이 매우 낮은 값을 보였다. 종다양도지수는 여름에 가장 낮은 값을 보였는데, 이 시기에 멸치가 총 개체수의 90% 이상을 차지하였다. 낮과 밤의 어획량을 비교한 결과, 밤 동안에 더 많은 어종수 및 생체량이 채집되었다.

        The author examined the response of Yoroi-mebaru, Sebastes hubbsi [MATSUBARA] to the underwater attracting lamps (0.5 W, 0.8 W, 1 W) line in the experimental water tank (550 L x 58 W x 73 H cm). The attracting rate investigated in accordance with the intervals of lighting and putting out hour (1, 5 minutes) when each of the underwater attracting lamps was gradually switched off after they were switched on all at once. The results are a follows: 1. Distribution rates of fish in the illuminated area was 35.7 % in case of 1 minute interval, and 50.3 % in case of 5 minutes interval. 2. Mean distribution rate of fish at the illuminated section: \circled1 Distribution rates at interval of 1 minute were 9.8 % in 1 W, 6.5 % in 0.8 W and 5.1 % in 0.5 W, respectively. \circled2 Distribution rates at interval of 5 minutes were 15.6 % in 1 W, 8.5 % in 0.5 W and 6.1 % in 0.8 W, respectively. 3. Attracting rates of the last section showed a little increasing as illuminating time elapsed. A difference of attracting rates according to lighting source in 5 minutes interval were bigger than that in 1 minute interval. 4. Attracting rates of fish in only last section switched on: \circled1 Attracting rates at interval in case of 1 minute were 30.0 % in 0.8 W, 16.0 % in 1 W and 8.0 % in 0.5 W, respectively. \circled2 Attracting rates at interval in case of 5 minutes were 56.0 % in 1 W, 30.7 % in 0.5 W and 10.7 % in 0.8 W. respectively.

        Towing performance of a midwater trawl system was examined aboard the training ship KAYA(2900ps) at the East Sea using the midwater trawl gear that had been designed and manufactured in accordance with the vessel. In this experiment, the trawl system data, the towing speed, the length and tension of the warp, net mouth height, and the depth of otter boards and net were measured and analyzed. The results are as follows: 1. In case of heaving in the warp with constant towing speed, the tension was suddenly increased and then again was reduced and after returned to the original steady state tension. At this time, net height was reduced a bit by ascension of ground rope, but returned to it’s original value. In the case where the warp was paid out, the tension was suddenly decreased and after increased and then returned to the tension of the original state, and the net height was greatly increased instantly by the sinking of the ground rope and then returned to the steady state 2. In the case of increased towing speed mm constant warp length, the tension was increased, and reducing the net height, the gear depth was decreased. On the other hand, in the case where towing speed was reduced, the tension was reduced and the gear depth and net height was increased. 3. Otter boards show a swing motion in the scope of 5~ 10m continuously. Otter boards responded to the state change of the trawl system at first, and then the motion of the net appeared. 4. The depth of net center was about 20m deeper than that of the otter boards, it shows about 0.4 times the warp length at the 4knots towing speed.

        Floating debris was recorded from a training ship, #1 Kwarnksan, of Pukyong National University with about 10 knots speed during March, May and July of 1997. The area sampled is the Southeastern Coast of Korea, divided into 40 unit segments on survey routes. Debris fabrication materials were categorized using the following ; man-made or natural wood items, paper, cardboard, nylon rope, netting, styrofoam and plastics, floating metal and glass containers. All identified items within a 〈TEX〉100 ± 2 m〈TEX〉 wide band were recorded but ignored if beyond this boundary.The results of distribution and composition of floating debris in the area as follows:1. The quantities of debris during the duration of survey were distributed from 2~605 items per km2. The most obvious trend is the widespread distribution of all debris. 2. The highest densities of all debris were discovered in the coastal waters of Seoimal lighthouse, the southeastern part of Koje island, next near Nakdong estuaries. Especially styrofoam & plastics were observed in 77.4~87.2% of sampled area, next is wood items, 9.1~ 13.5%. And nylon netting & rope, 3.6%, was the third item of pollutant. Others are very small. 3. Compared with the East Coat of Korea, the quantities of all debus in theSoutheastern Sea are 6 times as large as the East Coast. The survey provides a basis for more detailed survey work in the South Sea. Further surveys are being investigated, and from this it is hoped that a much wider coverage can be achieved, perhaps on all sites of the Coast of Korea and contributed to the removal method, finding of sources, stationary area of debris.

        그물실의 직경과 발 길이의 비율 d/l이 선망의 침강 운동에 어떤 영향을 끼칠 것인가를 해명하기 위해서 그물실의 직경은 0.45mm(PES 28 tex×2×2)의 것으로 모두 같고, 발 길이는 4.3, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.6 및 7.7mm로 각각 다르게 편망된 6종류의 무결절 그물감을 사용해서 뜸줄의 길이 450cm, 그물의 폭 85cm가 되도록 제작하고 뜸 160g과 발돌 50g을 매달아서, 각각 I,II,III,IV,V및 Ⅵ형 그물이라고 했다. 회류 수조의 수로 상에 투망 장치를 설치해서 정지 상태의 수중에 선망 그물을 투망하고 상방과 측면에 설치한 비디오 카메라를 사용하여 그물의 침강과정을 촬영 톡화했으며, 그물에 표시한 측정점의 좌표를 화상 해석 장치로 읽고 실험 값을 구했다. 그리고, Runge-Kutta-Gill법에 의한 연립 미분방정식 해법을 이용하여 수치 해석을 행하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1.그물 아랫자락의 침강속도는 d/l이 가장 작은 Ⅵ형 그물이 가장 빠르고, V,IV,III,II및 I형 그물 순으로 늦게 나타났다. 2.그물 벽에 대한 저항 계수는 d/l의 크기에 의존하여 KD=0.081(d/l)-0.5의 관계식으로 나타낼 수 있었다. 3.그물 다발의 저항 계수는 d/l의 크기에 의존하지 않은 CR=0.91의 관계식으로 나타낼 수 있었다.

        The hydroacoustic surveys to provide the essential information for the assessment, management and utilization of fishery resources in the southern waters of Korea were carried out during five research cruises between October 1996 and October 1997 by the training ship KAYA of Pukyong National University. These hydroacoustic investigations were designed to obtain more precise estimates of the geographic distribution, absolute abundance and biological characteristics of the fishery resources, and the vertically integrated densities of fish in terms of volume backscattering strength(SV) by survey region and depth bins, such as the entire water column and the 0~ 10 m from bottom fraction, were measured separately. Hydroacoustic data were collected by using a Simrad EK 500 Scientific echo sounder operating at two frequencies of 38kHz and 120kHz and the data stored in field were later processed on a HP PC using a Simrad EP 500 echo integration and target strength analysis system. The biological compositions of echo signal were identified and sampled using a demersal trawl during daylight hours. The mean target strength to scale the echo integration data for hydroacoustic surveys was derived from the relationship between the SV and the weight of trawl catch per unit volume of the water column sampled by demersal trawls. The results obtained can be summarized as follow : 1. The mean volume backscattering strength for the entire water column in the southern waters of Korea between 1996 and 1997 were -67.2 dB and -70.9 dB at two frequencies of 38 kHz and 120 kHz , respectively, and for the bottom layer of the 0-10 m from bottom friction were -68.8 dB, -70.2 dB, respectively. That is, the volume backscattering strength for the entire water column at low frequency was higher than that at high frequency. 2. The relationship between the mean backscattering strength (〈SV〉, dB) for the depth strata of trawl hauls and the weight (C, kg/m3) per cubic meter of the catch sampled by bottom trawling in the southern waters of Korea in January and July 1997 were expressed by the following equations: 38 kHz : 〈SV〉= -28.2 + 10 log(C), 120 kHz : 〈SV〉= -32.4 + 10 log(C). The mean weight -normalized target strengths derived from these equitions were -28.2 dB/ kg, -32.4 dB/ kg at 38 kHz and 120 kHz , respectively. That is, the mean weight -normalized target strength at 38 kHz was 4.2 dB higher than that at 120 kHz. 3. The distribution density of fish in terms of biomass per unit volume in the southern waters of Korea were estimated to be 125.9 × 10-6 kg/m3 and 141.3 × 10-6 kg/m3 at 38 kHz and 120 kHz , respectively.

        우리나라 남해안에 대한 어업생물자원의 평가와 관리 및 유효이용방안 등을 모색하기 위한 기초연구로서, 남해안의 전해역에 설정한 생물학적 샘플링 정점을 대상으로 저층트롤에 의한 시험조업을 실시하고, 이들 정점에서 샘플링된 어획물의 생물학적 조성, 計量魚探調査와 관련한 漁獲選擇性의 영향 底棲漁業資源의 분포실태 등을 분석, 고찰한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 1996년 10월과 1997년 1월, 3월, 7월~8월, 9월 ~ 10월에 우리나라 남해안에 설정한 64개의 조사정점을 대상으로 저층트롤에 의한 시험조업을 실시한 결과, 魚類 114종, 軟體類 8종, 甲殼類 7종(총 129종)에 총 9,9910.6 kg이 어획되었는 데, 이 중에서 어류의 점유비율은 전갱이 19.8%, 고등어 15.0%, 달강어 6.2%, 전어 6.1%, 병어 5.1%, 아귀 5.1%, 눈볼대 3.6%, 밴댕이 3.5%, 꼼치 3.4%, 꼬치고기 1.4% 등이었고, 甲殼類로서는 깨다시꽃게 0.34%, 보리새우 0.18% 등이었고, 頭足類로서는 창꼴두기 9.0%, 살오징어 5.8%, 참갑오징어 0.28% 등이 어획되었다.2. 1996년 ~ 1997년 사이에 우리나라 남해안에 설정한 트롤조사정점을 대상으로 실시한 저층트롤조업에 의해 어획된 어획량을 트롤예망층의 공간체적으로 나누어 산출한 단위체적당에 대한 어업생물자원의 분포밀도는 해역, 계절, 어획 어종의 조성, 조업시간 등에 따라 큰 차이를 나타내었으나, 그 값은 17.9 x 10-6 ~ 1,440.9 x 10-8kg/m3의 범위였고, 그 평균적인 분포밀도는 153.8 x 10-6kg/m3이었다. 3.우리나라 남해안에 설정한 64개의 조사정점에서 어구의 파망사고 및 조업장애가 없었던 50개의 트롤정점을 대상으로 끝자루와 커버 네트에 의한 어획비율을 조사한 결과, 커버 네트에 의한 어획비율은 0.7 ~ 91.9%의 범위로서, 그 평균적인 어획비율은 44.4%였다. 이처럼 우리나라 남해안에서는 어족자원의 감소 등에 기인하여 소형어의 어획비율이 매우 높은 실정이기 때문에 향후, TAC제도가 도입되는 경우, 조업어선에서는 상품 가치가 적은 이들 소형어를 바다에 그대로 폐기할 우려가 있으므로 소형어의 어획방지와 서식환경의 보호를 위한 대책의 수립이 절실히 요구된다.

        Generally, the three position solenoid valve has veen used for the hydraulic steering gear on account of it’s low cost, simplicity in device, etc. But, there is some off-set because of dead-zone which exists in on-off valves. In this paper, we proposed a combined controller which was added an integral controller to an only on-off one in hydraulic steering gear control system used low speed three position solenoid valve. Experimental results show that the off-set is removed, and the number of valve switching is reduced considerable. The validity of proposed method comparing with an only on-off control was proved by the response experiments.

        Recently, with the rapid development in the industries such as mechanical plants, automobiles, ships and marine structures, it is enlarged by the use of the SS 41 steel. This mechanical plants and marine structures are exposed m corrosion because of Cl-under marine environments. To protect their accidents, mainly applied anti-corrosion epoxy coating and various protective its structures. In this study, corrosion control characteristics on the epoxy coating were investigated by the galvanic corrosion of impressed voltage tester under marine environments The main results obtained are as follows; 1. Corrosion current density of amine-epoxy coating becomes more increased than that of other epoxy coating and the time area rate of pin hole and pit until 5% becomes most rapid. 2. The potential of SUS 304 stainless steel(cathode) for Al-epoxy coating is nearly zero potential. 3. Corrosion current density of Amine-epoxy by shot blast becomes more decreased than that of not shot blast and cathodic potential becomes more noble. 4. As distance of anode and cathode is more decreased, corrosion current density of epoxy coating is more increased and cathodic potential becomes less noble.

        Heat transfer performance improvement by fin and groovs is studied for condensation of R-11 on integral-fin tubes. Eight tubes with trapczodially shaped integral-fins having fin density from 748 to 1654fpm(fin per meter) and 10, 30 grooves are tested. A plain tube having the same diameter as the finned tubes is also used for comparison. R-11 condensates at saturation state of 32 ℃ on the outside tube surface coded by inside water flow. All of test data are taken at steady state. The heat transfer loop is used for testing singe long tubes and cooling is pumped from a storage tank through filters and folwmeters to the horizontal test section where it is heated by steam condensing on the outside of the tubes. The pressure drop across the test section is measured by menas pressure gauge and manometer. The results obtained in this study is as follows : 1. Based on inside diameter and nominal inside area, overall heat transfer coefficients of finned tube are enhanced up to 1.6 ~ 3.7 times that of a plain tube at a constant Reynolds number. 2. Friction factors are up to 1.6 ~ 2.1 times those of plain tubes. 3. The constant pumping power ratio for the low integral-fin tubes increase directly with the effective area to the nominal area ratio, and with the effective area diameter ratio. 4. A tube having a fin density of 1299fpm and 30 grooves has the best heat transfer performance.

        Feeding habits of Lateolabrax Japonicus collected from the eelgrass bed in Kwangyang Bay from January 1994 to December 1994 were studied. L. Japonicus was a carnivore which consumed mainly amphipods (gammarid amphipods and caprellid amphipods), crabs, caridean shrimps and copepods. Its diets included small quantities of fishes, mysids, polychaetes, tanaids and isopods. Three distinct ontogenetic feeding groups were noted : (1) 1~2 cm SL individuals preyed heavily on copepods. (2) 2~15 cm SL individuals preyed heavily on amphipods. (3) individuals over 15 cm SL preyed heavily on crabs, caridean shrimps and fishes. L. Japonicus showed seasonal changes in prey composition. These changes were not caused by seasonal changes in food availability, but by changes in the size composition of L. Japonicus occurred in the eelgrass bed.

        The aim of this study was to develop the artificial trap baits being able to replace the natural anchovy or sardine baits. The fishing trials for evaluating the fishing efficiencies of the artificial baits were conducted with commercial traps at coastal areas near Tongyoung, southern Korea. The preferable artificial baits which were made of minced anchovy, sardine, mackerel, or fish surplus products mixed with wheat flour into dry or wet pelleted or crumbled types, were showed some merits as the following. \circled1 Fishing efficiencies of the artificial baits were same or little higher level than that of the natural bait anchovy; \circled2 bait cost were same or little lower level; \circled3 dry artificial baits stocked in the room condition showed good fishing efficiencies; \circled4 making of artificial baits were very simple; \circled5 there were no harm to the fish and little pollution to the environment; \circled6 the releasing rate of attractants in the artificial or natural bait showed similar patterns. The artificial baits using the fish by-products which were vacuum freeze-drying extract of boiled anchovy or tunas extract, showed lower catches in the conger eel, Coner miriaster, but similar catches in the crabs, mainly Charybdis japonica, to the those of natural anchovy bait.

        In order to accumulate fundamental. data for control of fishes’ behavior at the real fishing ground, the fitness of the numerical model for describing the behavior of fishes was examined by the marine fish. Mullet, Mugil cephalus were used as experimental fishes. The numerical model of fishes’ behavior presented in our earlier paper was modified on the vertical movement of fish school. For the comparision of parameters of the modified numerical model between mullet and rainbow trout, the estimated values of parameters were identified with dimension. The fitness of the modified numerical model was examined by the comparision between experiment and simulation on the several indexes represented by fishes’ swimming characteristics. The obtained result are summarized a follows : 1. The non-dimensional parameter a’ of propulsive force and kb’ of interactive force by the experiment without model net showed a similarity, but the non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) of schooling force for rainbow trout was lager than one for mullet and the non-dimensional parameter k sub(w’) of repulsive force for mullet was lager than one for rainbow trout. 2. The non-dimensional parameter a’ and k sub(b’) for rainbow trout by the experiment with model net were a little lager than ones for mullet, but non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) and k sub(w’) for mullet were lager than ones for rainbow trout. 3. The non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) and k sub(b’) showed the largest and the smallest value among the non-dimensional parameters for rainbow trout and mullet, respectively. 4. The fitness of the modified numerical model was confirmed by means of the compulsion between experiment and simulation on the swimming trajectory of fishes, the mean distance of individual from wall, the mean swimming speed, the mean swimming depth and the mean distance between the nearest individuals. Especially, the similarity of mean swimming depth was improved by using the modified numerical model.

        When an automatic course-keeping is concerned, as is quite popular in modem navigation, the closed-loop steering system consists of autopilot device, power unit (or telemotor unit), steering gear, magnetic or gyro compass and ship dynamics. In order to estimate automatic steering system of ships in open seas. we need to know the characteristics of each component of the system, and also to know the characteristics of disturbance to ship dynamics. In this paper, I provide calculation method of imposing irregular disturbance to autopilot navigation system of the ship in open seas, and also show calculation examples about fishing boat. The disturbance consists of the irregular wave and the fluctuating component of wind. Finally, The disturbances are calculated in terms of equivalent yaw angular velocity. Each spectrum and time history of disturbance are reasonably evaluated.

        In order to investigate the relation between the environmental factors influencing on the fluctuation of fishing condition and the catch of anchovy in gill nets in the coastal waters of Yosu, five oceanographic factors, i.e., water temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a and the catch of anchovy in gill nets are observed from June 6 to August 12 in 1993. The results obtained are summerized as follows: 1) The water temperature ranged from 16.0℃ to 22.6℃ and the salinity from 30.13‰ to 33.65‰. the water temperature and salinity showed no significant influence on the catch of anchovy, but the catch did not expose high values in low temperature and salinity. 2) The catch of anchovy increased with the amount of chlorophyll-a. It is therefore emphasized that the amount of chlorophyll-a is the greatest one of environmental factors influencing on the catch of anchovy.

        In order to study basic information on the developed electro-magnetic compass, experiments were carried out on board M. S. KAYA at the pier of Dong Kuk Steel Mill in Pusan and the Korean southern sea using a three-axis magnetic sensor from Jan. 21, 1995 to Feb. 14, 1996. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The amount of old metal on the pier was about 27,290tons~57,440tons with an average of 40,560tons, the artificial local disturbance at the pier was min. 27.1μT, max. 66.5μT, ave. 433μT for the horizontal component and min. -27.0μT, max. 45.1μT, ave. 3.7μT for the vertical component. Its direction of horizontal component was 305˚ with the ship's head up bearing at 225˚. 2. The ship's magnetic distribution on the starboard side on berthing at the pier was 17.4μT for the horizontal component and -6.2μT for the vertical component. On the ship's port side, it was 19.8μT for the horizontal component and 4.1μT for the vertical component. On the ship's starboard side at sea, the ship's magnetic distribution was 19.2μT for the horizontal component and 3.2μT for the vertical component. On the ship's port side, the readings were 22.0μT for the horizontal component and -1.8μT for the vertical component. The directions of these readings were nearly starboard side. 3. On the pier, the secular change of the artificial local disturbance decreased 8.3μT from 61.0μT to 52.7μT for the horizontal component and decreased 7.1μT from 8.9μT M 1.8μT for the vertical component. On the starboard side from its berth, the ship, s magnetic distribution increased 2.6μT from 14.8μT to 17.4μT for the horizontal component and increased -0.1μT from -6.1μT to -6.2μT for the vertical component. On the ship's port side from its berth, it increased 7.1μT from 12.7μT to 19.8μT for the horizontal component and increased 10.2μT from -6.1μT to 4.1μT for the vertical component. 4. While at sea, on the ship's starboard side, the Secular change of the ship's magnetic distribution increased 3.9μT from 15.3μT to 19.2μT for the horizontal component and increased 2.0μT from -5.2μT to -3.2μT for the vertical component. On the port side, the changes increased 11.4μT from 10.6μT to 22.0μT for the horizontal component and increased 4.9μT from -6.7μT to -1.8μT for the vertical component. Upon berthing at the pier, the deviation of the secular change increased westerly 1 degree W~ 2.5˚ W from 3.5˚ W~ 5˚ W M 6W with the ship's head up bearing at 225˚. While at sea, these increased westerly 2˚ ~ 3˚ from the Northeast to the South and increased easterly 1˚ ~ 8˚ from the Southwest to the North. 5. While at port, within 1 mile between the ship and berth of the pier, as we approached the pier, the westerly deviation increased and when we departed the pier easterly deviation increased. When approaching the pier, the deviation was smaller than the deviation when the ship was departing from the pier. When approaching the bearing at 225˚ with the ship's head up bearing, the varies of deviation was smaller than the varies when the ship's head up bearing was departing from it.

        In the fishing process on the sea eel pots, the most dangerous and difficult labor is manually separating process of several thousand pots from main line with high speed hauling operation. In this study, the automatic separating system of the pot from main line is developed. This system is composed with the clip connected to the pot by branch line, the keeper attached to the main line by pressing and the separator separating the clip and the keeper. In the experiment, static and dynamic characteristics of the system are investigated. From the considerations on the experimental results, it is ascertained that the automatic separating system of the pot from main line proposed in this study has good operating performance.

        이 논문은 정치망에서의 어군의 입망상태를 원격으로 감시하기 위하여 개발한 디지털 원격 어군 탐지기의 구성과 실험 결과에 대하여 기술한다. 그 원격 어군탐지기는 해상국와 육상국으로 구성하였다. 전자는 50 kHz의 초음파 송수신부, 자작한 16비트 싱글보드컴퓨터, 데이터 링크용 무선모뎀으로 구성하였다. 싱글보드컴퓨터는 초음파펄스 송신용 트리거 신호, 최대탐지거리, A/D 변환기의 샘플링 간격, 데이터 링크를 제어한다. 에코 데이터의 샘플링 간격은 80μs로 하였다. 후자는 해상국과 동일한 무선 모뎀, 에코그램을 표시하고 그 때의 raw data를 저장하는 노트북 컴퓨터로 구성하였다.필자는 시험 제작한 원격 어군탐지기의 실용성을 확인하기 위한 현장 실험을 행하였다. 그 결과, 얻어진 에코그램은 정치망내의 어군행동을 감시하기에 충분하게 양호하고 명료하였다.
