        While adipose-derived stem cell-conditioned medium (ADSC-CM) has been demonstrated to promote skin wound healing, the mechanism regulating this effect remains unelucidated. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of Ell3 in the wound healing activity of ADSC-CM. In vitro analysis revealed that Ell3 suppression in ADSCs impairs the promotive activity of ADSC-CM on the proliferation and migration of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEF) and normal human dermal fibroblasts (NHDF). Consistently, the expression of MMP family genes, which regulate cell proliferation and migration, was significantly suppressed in MEF and NHDF treated with siEll3-transfected ADSC-CM. Proinflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-1 and interleukin-6, were highly expressed in MEF treated with siEll3-transfected ADSC-CM. The wound healing activity of siEll3-transfected ADSC-CM was significantly lower than that of the control in vivo. Our results suggest that Ell3 may contribute to the inhibition of inflammatory response during skin wound healing.

        Background : Cirsium plants have been used for perennial edible plants and grow wild in the mountainous regions of Korea, including Cirsium setidens and C. pendulum. In particular, C. setidens is commonly called 'gondre', and it has been used medicinally for diseases such as hematuria, hepatitis and hypertension. Hairy roots cultivation can be used as a method for increasing production through mass culture of medicinal plants, and elicitors such as methyl jasmonate (MeJa) can be treated to increase the content of certain useful ingredients. In this study, the hairy root was derived from the leaf tissues of C. setidens and C. pendulum, and the HPLC pattern was compared by MeJa treatment. Methods and Results : Agrobacterium rhizogenes R1000 was used to induce hairy roots in 1/2× MS medium. In addition, the hairy roots was treated with MeJa for different time (0, 1, 2, 5, 10, 24, 48, 72 h) and with various concentrations (0, 10, 50, 100, 200, 300 μM). The HPLC pattern changes were analyzed by on-line HPLC-ABTS. Four new peaks were observed in both Cirsium setidens and C. pendulum hairy roots, all of which showed antioxidant activity. In the case of C. pendulum, chlorogenic acid content was about 4 times higher than that of leaves. These peaks, including chlorogenic acid, were all affected by MeJa treatment. Conclusion : Four peaks were detected in the hairy roots of C. setidens and C. pendulum not in the leaves, and they were confirmed to be affected by the treatment of MeJa. It is necessary to clarify the structure through the subsequent compound separation.

        The use of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) in cell-based therapy has attracted extensive interest in the field of regenerative medicine, and it shows applications to numerous incurable diseases. hMSCs show several superior properties for therapeutic use compared to other types of stem cells. Different cell types are discussed in terms of their advantages and disadvantages, with focus on the characteristics of hMSCs. hMSCs can proliferate readily and produce differentiated cells that can substitute for the targeted affected tissue. To maximize the therapeutic effects of hMSCs, a substantial number of these cells are essential, requiring extensive ex vivo cell expansion. However, hMSCs have a limited lifespan in an in vitro culture condition. The senescence of hMSCs is a double-edged sword from the viewpoint of clinical applications. Although their limited cell proliferation potency protects them from malignant transformation after transplantation, senescence can alter various cell functions including proliferation, differentiation, and migration, that are essential for their therapeutic efficacy. Numerous trials to overcome the limited lifespan of mesenchymal stem cells are discussed.

        We compared the germination rate of dehisced ginseng (Panax ginseng) seeds that were dried under two different conditions, slowly at 15℃ [relative humidity (RH) 10-12%] and rapidly under a laminar airflow cabinet at 25℃ (RH 22-25%). The measurements showed that drying rate and seed moisture content (SMC) play important roles in storage ability and vigor. The seeds that were dried rapidly at 25℃ showed high GR compared with the seeds that were dried at 15℃ after 6 and 12 months of storage at -80℃ irrespective of MC. Seeds dried slowly at 15℃ with MC higher than 7.0% showed high GR maintenance after storage at -18℃ and at 4℃ in comparison with rapidly dried seeds. However, the GR of the slowly desiccated seeds decreased as mean SMC was reduced to less than 5.0%, whereas the rapidly dried seeds were distinguished by significantly high GR irrespective of the storage conditions. The ginseng seeds desiccated under different conditions showed differences in storage performance. Seeds with 7-9% MC that were dried slowly at 15℃ for 5-7 days showed high GR after 4℃ and -18℃ storage; however, longer periods of desiccation decreased the germination level remarkably compared with that of rapidly dried seeds.

        Sexual dimorphism is the most conspicuous difference between the sexes. This study examines possible sexual dimorphism and the relative growth patterns of morphometric characteristics in the marine medaka, Oryzias dancena for their potential to help differentiate between males and females of this species. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters estimated by a non-linear regression method were L∞=30.2 mm, K=3.22/year, and τ0=-0.05. All 18 characteristics measured showed a difference between males and females from 70 days after hatching. Each of these characteristics were significantly different between sexes (ANCOVA, P<0.05), and the ratio of standard length between sexes showed that males were larger than females for all five morphometric measurements. Fin length measurements were taken for 21 distances of anal fin and 7 distances of dorsal fin between landmarks. There were all differences for all dorsal fin rays between the males and the females and there is significant difference in 70 days after their hatch when the sexual dimorphism is presented. The significant difference (P<0.05) in fin ray for male and female was more greatly seen as they grow. Male marine medaka showed more rapid growth than females, with longer length, dorsal fins and anal fins. Differences in these characteristics will be useful during experiments when it is necessary to differentiate between sexes of marine medaka.

        Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) shoot tips grown in vitro were successfully cryopreserved by encapsulationvitrification. Encapsulated explants are very easily manipulated, due to the relatively large size of the alginate beads, and a large number of samples can be treated simultaneously. In this study, the effects of sucrose preculture, cryoprotectant preculture, and post-warm recovery media on regrowth, following liquid nitrogen (LN) exposure, were investigated to establish an efficient encapsulation-vitrification protocol for sweet potato. Shoot tips of plants grown in vitro were precultured in 0.3 M sucrose for 2 d before encapsulation. Encapsulated shoot tips were pre-incubated in liquid MS (Murashige and Skoog) medium containing 0.5 M sucrose for 16 h, before preculturing in sucrose-enriched medium (0.7 M sucrose) for 8 h. Shoot tips were osmoprotected with 35% plant vitrification solution 3 (PVS3) for 3 h, before being dehydrated with PVS3 for 2 h at 25°C. The encapsulated and dehydrated shoot tips were transferred to 2 mL cryotubes, suspended in 0.5 mL PVS3, and plunged directly into liquid N. High levels of shoot formation were obtained for the cv. Yeulmi (65.7%) and Yeonwhangmi (80.3%). The regrowth rates of cryopreserved samples in Yeulmi (78.9%) and Yeonwhangmi (91.3%), following culture on ammonium-free MS medium for 5 d, were much higher than those cultured on standard MS medium (65.7% and 80.3%, respectively). This encapsulation-vitrification is a promising method for the long-term preservation of sweet potato.

        국가직무능력표준(National competency standards, NCS)은 산업현장에서 직무를 수행하기 위해 요구되는 지식, 기술, 태도 등의 내용을 국가가 체계화한 것이다. NCS기반 현장중심 교육과정을 적용한 방사선과 재학생 3학년을 대상으로 일반촬영에 대한 방사선사 직무수행도를 평가하였다. 평가 결과, 모든 촬영방식에서 우수 및 충족 비율이 93% 이상으로 현장중심 교육과정이 재학생의 직무수행도 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 끼친 것으로 판단된다. CR 방식은 전체적으로 가장 우수한 평가를 받았으나 대상자 간 편차가 크고 영상기기조작능력이 부족한 것으로 평가되었고 Film 방식은 노출조건 설정 및 현상작업이 문제점으로 평가되었다. DR 방식은 우수한 평가를 받았으나 영상기기조작능력, 부속기자재운영능력이 부족한 것으로 평가되었다. 각 촬영에서 성취수준 이하의 평가요소를 교과목 운영에 보완한다면 재학생의 학업성취도 향상뿐만 아니라 졸업 후 임상에서 방사선사 직무수행도 향상에 도움이 되리라 판단 한다.

        Mombasa is the principle port of Kenya, serving inland countries in Eastern and central Africa. Mombasa port has undergone a massive infrastructure upgrade and dredging works with an expectation that more vessels and large post Panamax ships will be able to enter Mombasa port. Therefore, it is vital to carry out a marine traffic risk assessment in order to quantify the degree of navigation safety needed in the Mombasa approach channel and also to evaluate the navigation risk imposed on transit traffic by local ferry traffic. In this paper, a marine traffic risk assessment is carried out using the IWRAP mk2, Environmental Stress (ES) model, and the PARK model. Risk assessment results show that Likoni area has an unacceptable stress/ risk ranking at 20.7% by the ES model and 38.89% by the PARK model. The IWRAP mk2 model shows that the crossing area has the highest risk of crossing collision and the area at the entrance to the inner channel has a high risk of grounding. The conclusions derived from this study will provide the basis for proposing the most effective countermeasure to improve navigation safety in the Mombasa approach channel.

        Background : Momordica charantia L. (M. charantia) is a member of the family Cucurbitaceae, used as a medicine herb in traditional medicine. In this study, we present the sequencing, de novo assembly and analysis of the transcriptome of M. charantia and provide a global description of relationship between putative phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis genes and alteration of phenylpropanoid and flavonoid content during different organs and plantlet of M. charantia. Methods and Results : The transcriptome of M. charantia was constructed by using an Illumina Nexteseq500 sequencing system. Out of 68,073,862 total reads, approximately 88,703 unigenes were identified with a length of 898 bp. Alternatively, transcriptomic data, 10cDNAs (McPAL, McC4H, Mc4CL, McCOMT, McCHS, McCHI, McF3H, McFLS, McDFR and Mc3GT) encoded phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic genes. The expression levels and the accumulation of trans-cinnamic acid, benzoic acid, 4-hydroxyvbenzoic acid, p-coumaric acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, catechin hydrate, ferulic acid, and rutin were investigated in different organs and plantlets. Mainly, phenylpropanoids and flavonoids accumulated in leaves and flowers, whereas low levels accumulated in roots. Collectively, these results indicate that the putative McPAL, McC4H, McCOMT, McFLS, and Mc3GT might be key factors for controlling phenylpropanoid and flavonoid contents in M. charantia. Conclusion : In this study, we present the sequencing, de novo assembly and analysis of the transcriptome of M. charantia. We also compared gene expression and compound analysis of phenylpropanoid and flavonoid in different organs and plantlet of M. charantia. These results indicate that McPAL, McC4H, McCOMT, McFLS, and Mc3GT are key regulators of phenylpropanoid and flavonoid accumulation in M. charantia

        Korea’s lunar exploration project includes the launching of an orbiter, a lander (including a rover), and an experimental orbiter (referred to as a lunar pathfinder). Laser altimeters have played an important scientific role in lunar, planetary, and asteroid exploration missions since their first use in 1971 onboard the Apollo 15 mission to the Moon. In this study, a laser altimeter was proposed as a scientific instrument for the Korean lunar orbiter, which will be launched by 2020, to study the global topography of the surface of the Moon and its gravitational field and to support other payloads such as a terrain mapping camera or spectral imager. This study presents the baseline design and performance model for the proposed laser altimeter. Additionally, the study discusses the expected performance based on numerical simulation results. The simulation results indicate that the design of system parameters satisfies performance requirements with respect to detection probability and range error even under unfavorable conditions.

        이 논문은 19세기 말엽, 동해라는 바다 명칭이 일본해 또는 다른 명칭으로 분지되는 과정과 관련된 한ㆍ일 양국 간의 인식을 통해 식민주의적 권력과 지식체계가 어떻게 상호구성적으로 이에 영향을 주고 있는지를 파악하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 실상을 구체적으로 이해하기 위해 연구자는 외교문서ㆍ신문기사ㆍ고지도ㆍ어업협정문서ㆍ연설문 등에 나타나는 식민주의적 담론의 구성과 그 전략의 실천, 영토 및 해양경계에 관한 지역지식 및 가치체계의 전도양상, 명칭의 역사적 근원에 대한 해석방식 등에 대해 포괄적 접근을 하였다. 19세기 말엽은 한ㆍ일 양국에 있어서 해양공간과 관련된 영토성과 역사성이 변화하는 변곡점에 위치한다. 이 시기에 유럽의 식민지 세력이 아프리카에 확대되기도 하지만 동아시아에서도 서구의 문명개념이 식민정책에 영향을 주었을 뿐만 아니라 전 아시아 사회가 식민지상품경제체계로 들어가면서 국가경계를 넘은 식민주의적 상업공간의 확대가 이루어졌다. 서구의 문명개념은 식민주의적 영토성에 영향을 주었다. 일본의 경우, 서구의 진화론적 지식을 수용하면서 이에 기반을 둔 문명관념을 통해 기존의 아시아적 가치체계의 전도와 ‘군국’(軍國)의 새로운 영토적 범주의 창출, 영토화된 공간에 대한 개념화 등을 정립하였다. 이 시기 일본식 식민주의를 창출한 사상가들은 식민지배 이데올로기를 정당화하면서 기존의 동아시아 사상에 내재하던 ‘동문(同文)’, ‘일의대수(一衣帶水)’의 개념을 일본중심으로 전환하고자 하였다. 동해보다 과거 서구의 탐험가들이나 외교관들이 제작한 고지도 속에 기록된 일본해라는 바다 명칭을 새롭게 정립하는 과정, 야마가타 아리토모의 이익선과 주권선의 설정을 통한 영토성 구축, 후쿠자와 유기치의 문명과 반개(半開)라는 일본식 진화론적 사상의 정립, 참모본부ㆍ흑룡회ㆍ수산업자 등이 일본해 명칭을 사용한 사례들은 바다 이름이 문화 정치적ㆍ군사적 차원에서 상호영향을 주면서 만들어졌음을 보여준다. 19세기 한국인들의 바다 개념은 연해ㆍ내양ㆍ외양ㆍ원양 등의 범주로 구성되어 있었다. 이러한 개념들은 오늘날 국제해양법에서 정한 영해와 인접수역을 포괄하는 해역과 어느 정도 유사한 범위를 나타내주었다. 그리고 당시에 동해라는 바다 명칭은 동아시아인들이 하늘과 땅, 해, 달, 별자리, 산악, 바다, 강 등을 분류하고 위계질서를 정하며 그 방위를 주재하는 신을 위치시키는 공간인식방식에서 형성된 개념이었다. 동해란 동ㆍ서ㆍ남ㆍ북의 바다 명칭 가운데 하나이다. 그리고 조선왕조에서는 각 바다마다 신이 있다고 믿어 양양에 동해신에 대한 제사를 지내기 위해 동해신묘를 두었다. 이 점은 동해에 대해 조선왕조의 왕권이 행해졌음을 시사한다. 당시에 한국에서는 동해ㆍ조선해ㆍ한국해로, 일부 일본인들 중에는 일본 서해로, 중국의 왕지춘(王之春)은 고려해협 등으로 불렀다. 그러던 것이 19세기 말엽 일본의 명치 정부에서는 동해 대신에 일본해로 표기하거나 불렀다. 영토확장을 지향하는 식민주의자들은 지배적 이데올로기를 확산하는 과정에서 동해를 일본해로 공칭화하고자 하였다. 19세기 말엽, 식민주의적 영토지식과 담론은 일본이 동아시아의 바다공간을 군사적 지배영역으로 전환하면서 동해를 일본화된 해양공간으로 범주화하는 과정과 관련됨을 보여주었다. 이 시기 해양공간에 대해 영토성을 부여하는 데에는 명치 정부의 관료ㆍ군부ㆍ지식인ㆍ사상가ㆍ소기업가 등의 식민 이데올로기를 근간으로 한 영토적 장소만들기와 그 지배권의 제도적 실천 등이 원동력이 되었다. 19세기 말엽, 일본해가 동해 대신에 바다 이름으로 부각되는 과정에는 일본과 한국의 지배와 피지배의 정치구조 속에서 동아시아의 전통적 바다 분류체계의 해체, 일본의 식민주의 확대를 통한 동해 지배권 확대, 일본해 명칭사용을 정당화하기 위한 전략 등이 상호영향을 주었다. 특히 동해를 일본해로 명명함으로써 일본의 영토가 영해로 둘러싸여 있다는 상징적 의미를 부여하기 위한 문화 정치적 전략도 영향을 준 것으로 보인다.

        Sprouty (Spry) genes encode inhibitors of the receptor tyrosine kinase signaling cascade, which plays important roles in stem cells. However, the role of Spry4 in the stemness of embryonic stem cells has not been fully elucidated. Here, we used mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) as a model system to investigate the role of Spry4 in the stem cells. Suppression of Spry4 expression results in the decreases of cell proliferation, EB formation and stemness marker expression, suggesting that Spry4 activity is associated with stemness of mESCs. Teratoma assay showed that the cartilage maturation was facilitated in Spry4 knocked down mESCs. Our results suggest that Spry4 is an important regulator of the stemness and differentiation of mESCs.

        Rad51 is a key component of homologous recombination (HR) to repair DNA double-strand breaks and it forms Rad51 recombinase filaments of broken single-stranded DNA to promote HR. In addition to its role in DNA repair and cell cycle progression, Rad51 contributes to the reprogramming process during the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells. In light of this, we performed reprogramming experiments to examine the effect of co-expression of Rad51 and four reprogramming factors, Oct4, Sox2, Klf4, and c-Myc, on the reprogramming efficiency. Co-expression of Rad51 significantly increased the numbers of alkaline phosphatase-positive colonies and embryonic stem cell-like colonies during the process of reprogramming. Co-expression ofRad51 significantly increased the expression of epithelial markers at an early stage of reprogramming compared with control cells. Phosphorylated histone H2AX (γH2AX), which initiates the DNA double-strand break repair system, was highly accumulated in reprogramming intermediates upon co-expression of Rad51. This study identified a novel role of Rad51 in enhancing the reprogramming efficiency, possibly by facilitating mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition and by regulating a DNA damage repair pathway during the early phase of the reprogramming process.

        The present study aimed to determine the influence of various root restriction media on seedling quality and early growth of strawberry after transplanting. The root activity of the seedlings, measured 20 days after fixation, was considerably higher (0.096, 0.090, and 0.063 mg·g-1·h-1 at 420, 450, and 480 nm, respectively) in expanded rice hull (ERH) treatment than in the sandy loam and loamy sand treatments. The volumetric water content (VWC) of the root media tested across 3 irrigation regimes (15 d, 30 d, 45 d) in the nursery field was highest in sandy loam (65.0–66.8%), followed by 59.4–61.3% in loamy sand and 38.6–45.3% in ERH. When growth parameters of runner plantlets were compared, ERH treatment was found to result in the highest crown thickness and fresh weights of root and above-ground parts. This had a favorable influence on above-ground tissue growth after transplanting to plastic house soil. As mentioned above, ERH treatment resulted in the highest seedling quality and early growth after transplanting. The results of this study would serve as useful on-site data for the production of high-quality strawberry seedlings.

        This study was conducted in order to examine the egg development in red spotted grouper, Epinephelus akaara and the morphological development of its larvae and juveniles, and to obtain data for taxonomic research. This study was conducted in June 2013, and 50 male and female fish were used for the study. One hundred μg/kg of LHRHa was injected into the body of the fish for inducing spawning, and the fish were kept in a small-sized fish holder (2×2×2 m). Eggs were colorless transparent free pelagic eggs, 0.71–0.77 mm large (mean 0.74±0.02 mm, n=30), and had an oil globule. Hatching started within 27 h after fertilization. Pre-larvae that emerged just after hatching were 2.02–2.17 mm in total length (mean 2.10±0.11 mm), their mouth and anus were not opened yet, and the whole body was covered with a membrane fin. Post-larvae that emerged 15 days post hatching were 3.88–4.07 mm in total length (mean 3.98±0.13 mm), and had a ventral fin with two rays and a caudal fin with eight rays. Juveniles that were formed at 55 d post hatching, were 31.9–35.2 mm in total length (mean 33.6±2.33 mm), with red color deposited over the entire body, and black chromophores deposited in a spotted pattern. The number of fin rays, body color, and shape were the same as that in the adult fish.

        This paper examines the behavior of predicational adverbs in a learner corpus of English, focusing on an overall distributional pattern, the correlation between adverbial meaning and position, and common error types. Two types of essays (argumentative and narrative) produced by university freshmen at two proficiency levels (beginner and high-intermediate) were selected for analysis from the one-million word Yonsei English Learner Corpus (YELC). Notable findings from the analysis include the following: 1) The high level learner corpus, and the argumentative writings within the same level, contained more predicational adverbs, both in diversity and frequency, demonstrating the role of L2 proficiency and text type in the fluency with which the learners employed predicational adverbs. 2) Knowledge of scopal distinction began to emerge, i.e. the distinction between VP-level and S-level adverbs or between speech acts and evaluative adverbs. 3) Errors involving lexical selection were more common than word order errors, corroborating the observation in previous research that lexico-semantic learning trails behind syntactic learning. Considering both the crucial role of adverbial modification as a key to nuance in communication and the difficulty of acquiring lexical selection, it is recommended that more emphasis be given to the lexico-semantic aspects of adverbs in the L2 classroom.

        Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) seeds have long been clinically used in Korea to promote bone formation and prevent osteoporosis. In addition, the safflower buds (SB) were found to have more useful functional ingredients than safflower seed. Thus, we investigated the preventive effects of SB diet in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. The rats were divided into five groups; sham operated group, OVX alone group, OVX plus 17β-estradiol (E2 10 ㎍/㎏, i.p.) and OVX plus SB diet feeding group (0.3% or 1%). Feeding of SB diet (0.3% or 3%) to OVX rats markedly increased trabecular formation in femur compared to OVX rats. Feeding of SB diet (0.3% or 3%) to OVX rats also decreased TRAP activity compared to OVX rats. These results suggest that SB diets have bone sparing effects by the decrease of osteoclast activity. We also observed that OVX rats fed with SB diet (0.3% or 3%) exhibited the decrease of calcium and phosphorus in serum compared to OVX-induced rats. Therefore, SB may be beneficial for the patients of osteoporosis, especially in postmenopausal women.

        Purpose – This study investigated the effects of leaders of national universities on faculty creativity. The study examined transformational leadership and creativity theories and investigated self-efficacy, the parameter between transformational leadership and creativity, to examine its moderating effect and provide policy implications for national universities. Research design, data, and methodology – This study built four hypotheses based on the literature review, and tested these using a survey methodology. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0. Result – At the national universities, the results were as follows: charisma of leaders had a positive influence on member creativity; intellectual stimulus of leaders had a positive influence on member creativity; and, individual consideration of leaders had a positive influence on member creativity. Therefore, leaders’ transformational leadership had a positive influence on member creativity. Conclusion – Creativity is thought to be important for organizational survival and continuous development at rapidly changing education administrations. Educational administration leaders should exercise transformational leadership to develop member creativity.         Purpose – This study intended to identify how resilience and character strength among employees are influenced by employment instability and the negative impact it could have on job satisfaction and psychological wellbeing. Research design, data, and methodology – This study hypothesizes that employment instability will have a negative effect on resilience and character strength, but resilience and character strength will have a positive effect on job satisfaction and psychological wellbeing. A total of 150 valid questionnaires were collected and utilized for analysis. Results – Employment instability was found to have a negative impact not only on job satisfaction and psychological wellbeing but also on employee resilience and character strength. Conclusion – The results suggest that along with the necessity for a strategic approach at the corporate level, enterprises should also acknowledge employee failures and support them in job situations. They should create a positive work environment and a structure of empowerment, interesting jobs, and a positive organizational culture to build various systems and the ability to enhance self-esteem and stamina in order to reinforce character strength.

        The suitable feeder cell layer is important for culture of embryonic stem (ES) cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of two kinds of the feeder cell, MEF cells and STO cells, layer to mouse ES (mES) cell culture for maintenance of stemness. We compare the colony formations, alkaline phosphatase (AP) activities, expression of pluripotency marker genes and proteins of D3 cell colonies cultured on MEF feeder cell layer (D3/MEF) or STO cell layers (D3/STO) compared to feeder free condition (D3/–) as a control group. Although there were no differences to colony formations and AP activities, interestingly, the transcripts level of pluripotency marker genes, Pou5f1 and Nanog were highly expressed in D3/MEF (79 and 93) than D3/STO (61and 77) or D3/– (65 and 81). Also, pluripotency marker proteins, NANOG and SOX-2, were more synthesized in D3/MEF (72.8±7.69 and 81.2±3.56) than D3/STO (32.0±4.30 and 56.0±4.90) or D3/– (55.0±4.64 and 62.0±6.20). These results suggest that MEF feeder cell layer is more suitable to mES cell culture. Key words : Mouse embryonic stem cell, Feeder cell, Pluripotency marker, MEF feeder cell
