The present study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation of purified amino acid (PAA) isolated and purified from animal slaughter house blood on growth performance and immune response of weanling piglets. A total of fifteen, 28 days old, weaned pigs were randomly distributed into three treatment groups, 5 pens per treatment (one head per pen). Each experimental diet was provided to five piglets per group (T0, 0% PAA; T1, 0.1% PAA; T2, 0.5% PAA). The feed consumption was calculated daily and body weight on a weekly basis. The blood samples were analyzed for plasma concentration of biochemical parameters and cytokines using ELISA Kit assay. Pigs fed with the 0.5% PAA have greater average daily weight gain (ADG) and feed efficiency (FE) as compared to those of T0 and T1. However, ADG and FE of T0 and T1 have no remarkable differences. The plasma cytokine levels were lower in T2 as compared to T0 and T1. The blood parameters like total bilirubin, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), glutamate oxalate transaminase (GOT) and glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) were within the normal range in all the treatment groups. The study indicated that supplementation of 0.5% PAA have positive effect on the growth performance of the weanling pigs. Moreover, supplementation of the amino acid isolated and purified from animal slaughter house blood has no adverse effect on palatability of the feed and health of the animals.
본 연구는 다양한 사료들을 유지수준에서 섭취한 한우 암소 경산우의 에너지 대사 시험의 결과로 부터 섭취에너지 균형과 메탄배출계수를 구하였다. 오차드그라스(orchard grass) 위주의 혼합목건초 섭취 7두, 혼합목건초의 30~50% 를 볏짚으로 대체한 12두, 혼합목건초와 볏짚에 밀기울 (wheat bran) 1 kg 추가급여한 6두, 총 25 개체의 대사실험 성적을 분석하였다. 실험축은 10일간 대사틀에서 개체별로 각각의 실험사료 적응 및 7일간 분 뇨 시료채취 후, indirect respiratory chamber 1대에 교대로 수용되어 1일간 호흡대사 실험이 이루어졌다. 혼합목건초 단독 급여구와 비교하여 나머지 두 처리구의 평균 건물섭취량은 약 11%, 15% 높았으나 통계적인 유의성은 없었고, gross energy (GE) 섭취량도 차이가 없었다. 총 섭취에너지 중 메탄으로 손실된 에너지 비율인 메탄전변율(methane conversion rate, Ym)과 메탄배출계수(emission factor, kg/head/year)도 각각 0.055~0.062 (평균 0.058)와 33.6~38.6(평균 35.2) 범위로 처리간 유의성이 없었다. 본 실험에서는 혼합목건초를 볏짚으로 대체하거나 또는 밀기울 추가급여에 의한 메탄발생량 차이가 없었으나, 메탄발생량을 줄일 수 있는 것으로 알려진 양질 조사료 급여효과 연구는 축산현장의 온실가스 감축 사업 참여가 가능한 분야이기 때문에 추가 연구들을 통해 시급히 증명되어져야 된다고 판단된다.
We investigated the distribution of asbestos in Seoul for 16 school buildings built before and after 1990, includingkindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. The risk assessment standards of AHERA,HSE and ASTM were reviewed and a comparative analysis of assessment standards was conducted in schoolbuildings. For the risk assessment of 16 schools, 170 samples were selected, each of which was assessed usingstandards of AHERA, HSE and ASTM. The school buildings included the ACM (asbestos containing materials)ranged 3-4% of chrysotile and 1-3% of amosite in classroom ceilings and has 7-8% chrysotile in partitions of studenttoilets. The airborne concentrations of fiber materials were ranged with 0.002-0.022 fiber/cc in school buildingsby PCM. In this study, a simplified rating scale was used three categories of Good, Damaged and SignificantlyDamaged. In the result of comparative analysis for the risk assessment criteria, it was found that 113 samples, 132samples and 82 samples were classified as Good when assessed by AHERA, HSE and ASTM, respectively; and46 samples, 29 samples and 53 samples as Damaged, respectively; and 12 samples, 8 samples and 34 samples asSignificantly Damaged, respectively. From the distribution of asbestos and the comparative analysis for the riskassessment criteria, the management plan and new risk assessment were made based on the Korea backgroundshould be established to control asbestos exposure to students from damaged ACM and will be revealed that theassessment for the current condition and potential for disturbance on asbestos in school buildings.
The current interest in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) is mainly due to its effect on human health.Exposure to outdoor PM is associated with a wide range of adverse health effects. Indoor air contains a complexmixture of bioaerosols such as bacteria, fungi and allergens. Children are known to be more susceptible tothe exposures of PM and bioaerosols which are represented by airborne bacteria, fungi, and allergens. Thisstudy is to assess concentrations of the atmospheric PM and bioaerosols indoors and outdoors at 15 daycarecenters for children located in Seoul. Particles were measured indoors and outdoors with automatic particlemonitoring using beta radiation absorption. Airborne bacteria and fungi were sampled by Anderson sampler.Analysis shows that average indoor PM10 was 95.7µg/m³ (SD 26.6µg/m³) and average level of airbornebacteria and fungi were 575.0CFU/m³ (SD 431.6CFU/m³) and 77.9CFU/m³ (SD 45.6CFU/m³), respectively.Finally, efficient ventilation and effective air cleaning strategies are necessary to reduce indoor concentrationsof particles and bioaerosols.
The HACCP evaluation standards for the meat packaging plant are divided into general scale HACCP evaluation standard and small scale HACCP evaluation standard. There are 69 evaluation items in the general scale HACCP evaluation criteria, of which 54 items in the prerequisite management and 15 items in the HACCP management are included. The number of small scale HACCP evaluation items are 20 and about 29% of the general scale HACCP evaluation items. This may not be enough to produce a safety livestock products for the purpose of implementing the HACCP system due to the nature of the meat packaging plant, which does not show much difference in the production process or method of product depending on the scale. To improve the small scale HACCP evaluation standard, the importance of each item was compared with the small scale HACCP evaluation based on the rate of non-compliance and the severity levels in the general scale HACCP evaluation items. As a result of the study, 8 items were derived from the prerequisites management, 2 items were derived from the HACCP management, and some similar evaluation items were grouped together. Finally, 10 items were added to the 20 items of the existing small scale HACCP evaluation items. In this study, study on the safety management of domestic livestock products are continuously carried out, so that it is possible to provide safety livestock products to consumers and contributes to securing competitiveness of domestic livestock industry.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) system application on microbial hazard management levels of pork and manufacturing environments. In this study, we compared and analyzed microbial levels in raw meat, finished products, and manufacturing environments (knifes, gloves, and cutting boards) of HACCP and non-HACCP meat markets. In addition, we surveyed the hygiene statuses of HACCP and non-HACCP meat markets. The general bacterial counts in raw meat, finished products, and manufacturing environments were lower in HACCP meat markets than in non-HACCP meat markets. Particularly, non-HACCP meat markets exceeded the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety microbiological recommendation criteria for raw meats (8.7%) and finished products (8.7%). Escherichia coli and coliform counts in raw meat, finished products, and manufacturing environments were also lower in HACCP meat markets than in non-HACCP meat markets. The biological hazard levels of finished products from non-HACCP meat markets were affected by raw meat and manufacturing environment. Moreover, according to questionnaire survey results, personal hygiene, manufacturing environment, and facility standards were lower in non-HACCP meat markets than in HACCP meat markets. Implementation of HACCP at meat markets is expected to minimize food poisoning by reducing the biological hazard levels to provide safe livestock products to consumers.
This study was conducted to establish scores according to the importance levels of each HACCP evaluation item in cattle farm. The importance levels and score of each HACCP evaluation item was derived through the non-compliance rate and severity levels of hazard. In order to change the score criteria according to the importance of each HACCP evaluation item, we analyzed the importance of each HACCP evaluation item by using the portfolio mapping method according to the occurrence frequency and severity levels of hazard. The scores were classified into 3 point, 2 point, and 1 point, respectively, by classifying the importance of each category as ‘high’, ‘middle’ and ‘lower’. Accordingly, we have established a now scoring system of each HACCP evaluation item through this study. Through the result of this study, the objectivity of the comparative evaluation was verified by implementing the currently used HACCP evaluation item to the cattle farm. In conclusion, Implementation of the result of this study to cattle farm may help to increase the objectivity and also improve more safety and hygienic cattle management and raw milk production.
본 연구는 HACCP 제도를 적용하고 있는 소규모, 중규모, 대규모 양돈농장의 HACCP 제도 적용 전과 후의 폐사율을 비교분석하기 위한 목적으로 실시하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 전국에 산재한 60개의 양돈농장(소규모, 중규모, 대규모 양돈농장 각각 20개)을 선별하였다. 선별된 양돈농장의 평균 사육두수는 소규모 1,429.72두, 중규모 양돈농장은 3,392.95두 그리고 대규모 양돈농장은 1,034.60두로 조사되었다. 폐사 원인 구분은 호흡기로 인한 폐사, 설사로 인한 폐사, 유산 및 사산으로 인한 폐사, 사고로 인한 폐사 그리고 기타 폐사로 구분하여 분류하였다. 소규모 농장의 평균 폐사두수는 HACCP 적용 전 373.25두로 조사되었으나 HACCP 적용 후에는 334.49두로 통계적 유의성 없이 감소하였다. 중규모 농장은 HACCP 적용 전에 평균 615.09두가 폐사하였으나 HACCP 적용 후에는 558.09두로 유의적으로 감소하였다. 또한 대규모 양돈농장도 HACCP 적용 전에는 평균 폐사두수가 887.17두에서 HACCP 적용 후에는 696.56두로 21.60%가 감소한 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 결과는 HACCP 제도 중 선행요건프로그램에 해당되는 농장방역, 소독, 사육환경관리, 체계적인 시설 및 위생관리, 질병관리 등으로 인하여 나타나는 효과인 것으로 판단된다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the purpose, effectiveness and problems of HACCP system implementation for small, medium and large scale of swine farms implementing HACCP. Small and medium scale swine farms stated that the primary purpose of HACCP implementation was to receive government funding, but large scale swine farm was answered to improve the farm's competitiveness. In the case of small farms, the effect of HACCP implementation responded to systematic farm management as the top priority, while mid-scale and large-scale swine farms were said to improve farm sanitation. In addition, the biggest problems caused by the implementation of HACCP were the difficulty of improving the consciousness of the employees (small farm) and the records management (medium scale, large farm) by HACCP implementation. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to adjust the number of HACCP evaluation items of pig farm and HACCP education for employees.
본 연구는 친환경안전축산물 생산에 기반이 되는 돼지농장의 HACCP 평가항목별 점수부 여 체계의 문제점에 대한 개선방안 도출하여 보다 안전하고 위생적인 돼지 생산에 기초자 료로 활용을 제안하기 위한 목적으로 실시하였다. 현행 돼지농장 HACCP 평가항목은 중요 도의 구분 없이 동일한 점수(5점)를 부여하고 있으나 본 연구에서는 최근 3년간 지적비율, 위해의 심각도 등을 고려하여 평가항목별로 중요도를 도출하였고 그 결과에 따라 평가항 목의 점수를 차등 부여하도록 하였다. 돼지농장의 선행요건 평가항목(70개)은 중요도에 따 라 최대 4점에서 최소 2점의 점수체계를 구축하여 총 점수가 200점이 되도록 하였으며, HACCP 관리 분야 평가항목(15개)은 최대 10점에서 최소 5점 체계를 구축하여 총 점수가 100점이 되도록 개발하였다. 본 연구결과를 현장에 적용할 경우 보다 안전하고 위생적인 돼지의 생산이 가능하여 돼지농장 HACCP 도입의 목적을 보다 효과적으로 달성할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
본 연구는 지방산 함량 및 배합사료와 조사료 비율을 기초로 한 유기농 사료 급여가 홀 스타인 착유우에서 생산된 원유의 CLA 및 지방산 함량에 미치는 연구를 조사하기 위한 목 적으로 실시하였다. 총 290두의 홀스타인 착유우를 산차 및 유량에 따라 3개 group으로 나 누었다. 대조구는 C16:00, C18:2 그리고 SFA를 높게 설계하였고, 처리구 1은 C18:1, C18:2 그리고 UFA 함량을 높게 설계하였으며 처리구 2는 MUFA, C18:3 그리고 PUFA 함량을 높 게 설계하였다. 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 유기농 원유 내 C16:0 함량은 처리구 2에서 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 그 이유는 반추위 내 미생물의 de novo 생합성 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 처리구 2의 C18:0 함량은 7.92%로 대조구(11.39%)와 처리구 1(10.88%)보 다 높았다(p<0.05). CLA 함량도 처리구 2가 처리구 1이나 대조구에 비하여 높은 것으로 나 타났다(p<0.05). 원유 내에서 검출된 대부분의 CLA는 착유우 유선조직내의 △9-desaturase에 의하여 합성된 것으로 판단된다. n-3/n-6 비율도 처리구 2에서 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다 (p<0.05). 본 연구 결과를 종합해 보면, 착유우에게 혼합 목건초 등을 급여하면 CLA, n-3 농 도는 증가하며 C18:0 농도는 낮아지는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구는 유기농 인증된 조사 료 및 농후사료를 이용하여 결과를 도출하였다. 그러나 유기농 사료를 사용할 경우에만 원 유 내 CLA 및 n-3 농도는 증가한다고 볼 수 없다. 원유 내 고농도의 CLA 및 n-3 지방산 생 산을 위해서는 반추위 미생물 및 유선세포의 지방 대사를 통한 CLA 생산 메커니즘에 대한 충분한 이해와 급여 사료 내 지방산 구성 등이 중요한 것으로 판단된다.
본 연구는 안전한 축산물의 생산에 기반이 되는 농가 HACCP 제도 도입에 있어서 일부 문제로 인하여 발생되고 있는 HACCP 인증(재인증) 부적합농가 수의 지속적인 증가에 대 한 문제점을 개선하기 위한 방안으로 최근 3년간 HACCP 심사 결과에 따른 지적비율을 축 종별로 분석하고 상위 10% 이상 지속적으로 지적되고 있는 평가항목을 도출하여 이를 개 선할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 실시하였다. 총 15개 HACCP 관리 분야 평가항목 중 지적 비율이 높은 평가항목으로는 소, 돼지 농가에서 4번(가축사육 공정도 및 농장평면도), 10번 (중요관리점 모니터링), 12번(HACCP 검증), 14번(HACCP 교육) 그리고 닭농가에서는 10번 (중요관리점 모니터링), 12번(HACCP 검증), 14번(HACCP 교육)으로 매우 유사한 경향을 나 타내었다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해서는 농가 HACCP 평가기준의 대폭 축소 및 단 순화, 연 1회 의무 교육 시 해당 분야 집중 교육과 위해요소중점관리기준, 모니터링, 검증 등과 같은 어려운 HACCP 용어를 각각 안전관리기준, 감시, 확인 등으로 이해하기 쉽게 풀 어서 사용하여 국내 축산농가의 현실에 눈높이를 맞추어 개정되어야 많은 축산농가에서 가축사육단계 HACCP 제도를 부담 없이 안정적이고 지속적으로 운용할 수 있을 것으로 판 단된다.
This study was undertaken to investigate the effects of dicarboxylic acid supplementation, as replacement antibiotics, of on in vitro ruminal parameters and milk yield and milk composition in lactating cows. in vitro treatments were 1) Con (4 g of basal diet), 2) CM (4 g of basal diet + 0.05 ml of monensin), 3) CR (4 g of basal diet + 0.1 ml of dicarboxylic acid) and in vivo treatments were 1) Con (25 kg of basal diet/head/day), and 2) CR (25 kg of basal diet + 5 g of dicarboxylic acid/head/day), respectively. A total 10 lactating dairy cows (649±19 kg average body weight, 99±65 average milking days) were divided in to two groups according to mean milk yield and number of days of postpartum. The cows fed a basal diet during adaptation (2 wk) and experimental diets during the treatment periods (4 wk). In the first in vitro experiment, there were no statistical differences between treatments in pH, gas production, and ammonia-N and lactic acid concentration during incubation. However, dry matter digestibility was significantly higher in CR treatment compared to control or CM treatment (P<0.05). Total VFA was tended to higher in CR treatment than those of control and CM treatment (P> 0.05). In the second experiment, milk yield was significantly higher in treatment (40.39 kg) compared to control (35.19 kg), (P<0.05). Milk composition and MUN were not changed by dietary supplementing dicarboxylic acid. Therefore the present results reporting that supplementation of dicarboxylic acid might enhance the stabilization of ruminal fermentation and increase the milk yield of lactating cows.
Twenty four Holstein steers (average body weight 714 ± 13.60 kg) were used in this experiment to determine the effect of supplementing of microbial culture and coated vitamin-C on growth performances and carcass characteristics in finishing Holstein steers. Holstein steers were randomly assigned to feeding groups of control group (Con, 12 kg of basal diet/head/day), microbial culture group (MC, 12 kg of basal diet + 30 g of microbial culture/head/day) and coated vitamin-C group (CVC, 12 kg of basal diet + 10 g of coated vitamin-C/head/day). MC and CVC groups were higher in ADG compared to control (P<0.05). FCR was also lower in MC and CVC groups than control group (P<0.05). Back fat thickness, rib-eye area, marbling score, meat color and yield index were not changed by supplementing microbial culture and coated vitamin-C. MC group was higher for maturity compared to control and CVC group (P<0.05). CVC group was higher for fat color compared to control and MC group (P<0.05). Based on the results obtained from the current study, supplementation of microbial culture and coated vitamin-C as an alternative to antibiotic might increase growth performances and enhance carcass characteristics in finishing Holstein steers. However, more studies are needed to find out the optimum supplementing period of microbial culture or coated vitamin-C for high quality meat production from Holstein steers.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation of oriental herb extracts (Alpha PlusⓇ (AP)+Dried Foxglove Powder (DFP)) on growth performance and proliferation of splenocytes in broiler chicken raised under low or high density stocking conditions. A total of 240 male broiler chicks were randomly divided into four treatment groups with three replicates composed of ten birds in low density stocking groups and thirty birds in high density stocking groups. The four treatment groups were as follows: C1 (low density without AP and DFP); T1 (low density with AP 0.2% and DFP 0.03%); C2 (high density without AP and DFP); T2 (high density with AP 0.2% and DFP 0.03%). The feed intake of the high density stocking group was significantly lower than that of low density stocking groups during overall experimental period (p<0.05). The body weight of high density stocking groups was lower than that of low density stocking groups (p<0.05). The decrease of feed intake and body weight gain in growing stage (7~25day) under the high density stocking condition seems to be recovered in final stage (26~34day). Meanwhile dietary supplementation of AP+DFP in low and high density stocking groups tended to have higher daily body weight gain than control groups. The proliferation of splenocytes in treatment groups was significantly higher than control groups (p<0.05). In conclusion, the result of the present study suggested that the oriental herb extracts (AP+DFP) could be used as an alternative feed additive resources to improve growth performance and immune activity in broiler chickens.
