1995년 이후 성평등 전략으로서 모든 분야에 젠더 관점을 고려해야 한다는 성 주류화 전략이 채택되면서 성평등은 국제사회와 각국이 함께 추구해야 할 목표가 되었다. 그리고 실무자들의 역량강화를 위한 성주류 화 가이드라인이 개발되어 왔으나 빠르게 변화하는 국내외적 상황을 고 려하고, 한국의 경험에 기반한 가이드라인 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서 는 국제개발협력 실무자를 위한 성주류화 가이드라인개발을 위해 지속가 능발전목표(SDGs)가 채택된 2015년 이후 국제사회와 각국에서 발간한 성주류화 가이드라인을 수집하고, 21개 가이드라인을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 성주류화 가이드라인에 포함되어야 할 요소와 내용, 그리고 방향을 도출하였다. 개발협력의 실무자를 위한 가이드라인에는 성주류화에 관한 개념과 방법에 대한 충분한 이해, 프로그램이나 사업의 단계별 적용에 대한 세부 가이드라인, 그리고 사례분석을 통해 현장의 구체적 상황 이 해가 필수 요소이며, 발간 이후에도 실무자, 전문가, 수여국의 젠더 관점 수용을 위한 지속적 노력이 필요함을 확인하였다.
This study reveals how interview discourses embodied in higher-level genres vary according to the discourse purpose and institutionalization level. Specifically, it analyzes episodes of news briefing and the entertainment program Hope Song at Noon, discussing street dance craze. Questions and answers dominated the discourse following the interview structure of news programs. The structure of questions and answers was accompanied by entertainment program talks. Regarding the characteristics of the interview questions and discourse, the news program delivered information as a social issue, while the entertainment program focused on interactions with dancers and entertainment activities. Thus, news programs shape discourse along a social dimension, while entertainment programs highlight individuals’ attractiveness and influence. Further, while news program viewers speak in a limited manner, listeners directly and actively participate in interview discourses in entertainment programs, which are embodied through language choices. Here, news programs employ formal language and normative and comprehensive vocabulary, and entertainment programs use every day and colloquial language and entertainment-specific vocabulary. This observation is significant as it examines entertainmentization of information and the informatization of entertainment.
The purpose of this study is to review the discourse on vaccination from a critical perspective by considering coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) news on web portals to be practical arguments advocating for certain actions. For this purpose, this study analyzed the argument patterns of the discourse on vaccination with the keyword COVID-19 vaccine side effects and examined discourse characteristics highlighted by media reports to evaluate their meaning. Contrasting patterns were observed between pro- and anti-vaccine arguments, which consisted of the necessity of vaccination and medical evidence and which focused on personal choice and vaccine side effects, respectively. The characteristics of the political discourse were observed in the contest between these arguments. Rhetorical phrases, which are often used in the political discourse, represented the misleading arguments that lacked evidential accuracy and argumentative validity by maximizing fear, instead of alleviating fear about a health crisis with scientific information and discussion. As fake news trending on social media was introduced to online news portals, which are regarded as public discourse platforms, and undermined trust in the public discourse, it served as an opportunity to politicize the discourse on vaccination.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutrition education on dietary knowledge, dietary attitudes, and dietary behavior of elderly by analyzing changes before and after nutrition education. This study was conducted in Seoul from March 2022 to December 2022 for 50 elderly (6 male, 44 female) who participated in nutrition education for 8 weeks at three senior welfare centers (Seodaemun, Seongbuk, Jongno). A total of 35 responses were used in the final analysis. Statistical analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and Wilcoxon’s signed rank test by age, hypertension, and dislipidemia to find effect of nutrition education on their nutritional knowledge, dietary attitudes, and dietary behavior. Results showed that nutrition education had a significant effect on the elderly. In particular, for those with chronic diseases such as hypertension and dislipidemia, the difference after education was significant, indicating significant changes in dietary habits. This study is expected to provide basic data for the development of a systematic nutrition education program for the elderly in the future.
The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the importance and satisfaction of consumer selective attributes by home meal replacement (HMR) types using local ingredients. This study was conducted from December 4 to December 8, 2020. A total of 380 responses organized according to preferred types of HMR (100 for Ready to Eat (RTE), 92 for Ready to Heat (RTH), 88 for Ready to Cook (RTC), 100 for Ready to Prepared (RTP) were used for the final analysis. Statistical analysis was conducted by descriptive analysis, paired t-test, and importance-satisfaction analysis by HMR type. Findings of this study showed significant differences in consumer selective attributes by HMR type. RTE and RTC need to improve quality while RTH needs to improve quality and packaging. Notable selective attributes were quality, packaging, and information. They were located in different quadrants of each HMR type. All other attributes appeared in the same quadrant. Further research is needed to determine differences in quality, packaging, and information for each HMR type. Results of this study provide basic data for developing products and marketing strategies for each type of HMR products using local ingredients.
The purpose of this study is to examine children's YouTube contents that intensively show the characteristics of a promotional society from the perspective of critical discourse studies. This starts to view of the concept of discourse as ‘use of language in a social context’. Discourse can be approached in terms of texts, discourse practices, and sociocultural practices. And the analysis was carried out within the dialectical relationship of these three dimensions. Children's YouTube discourse superficially pursues an entertainment genre, but has the characteristics of an advertising genre. The discourse practice of YouTube text makes it natural to watch a commercial presented before watching main contents. In addition, it commercializes play activities between parents and children in the home domain. Representing ‘play’ and ‘home’ at the text level as excessively abundant goods is related to ‘discourse on happiness through material’. In terms of discourse practices, the value of the play activities of parents and children as media products, and the guarantee of (advertising) viewing act for consumption of these texts, is based on the characteristics of the promotion and consumption society. Capturing the ideology of fetishism that penetrates these three dimensions contributes to the recognition of the act of watching as labor.
The purpose of this study is to reveal through discourse analysis the processes and patterns in which discrimination and hate in Korean society is produced. The social aspect of discrimination and hatred is practiced and reproduced through discourse. Discourses related to dogs were selected for this inquiry, because discrimination and hatred against dogs, especially large dogs today, are confirmed through various discourse(language sources) of the media. For this critical discourse study, van Dijk's approach, emphasizing the cognitive component when exploring the relationship between discourse and society, was applied. As a result of the analysis, it was identified that the polarized distinction between ‘we’ group and ‘they’ groups according to categorization, discrimination based on prejudice and stereotypes, and hatred due to contemptuous attitudes were sequentially developed. And it was found that the division and discrimination were represented and reproduced through the discourse at the macro-level of society, and the hate was represented through the discourse at the micro-level.
Shin, Yu-Ri. 2015. “Nonverbal Discourse Strategies of Korean TV Talk Show Hosts: Focus on ‘Nodding’ and ‘Bending’”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 23(1). 115~143. As our speech builds on verbal as well as nonverbal elements, we perform discourse strategies through both of them in interaction. This study takes a closer look at the nonverbal strategies performed during talk show discourse as seen on Korean television. By taking into account the sociocultural context on which both talk show hosts and guests mutually rely in their interaction, the paper examines how this shared pool of sociocultural resources affects the discourse strategies of the hosts. This holds particularly true for Korean TV talk shows, since the social relationships, from which the discourse participants draw, is defined and reflected in the shows' semi-institutional character. Throughout the show, the host makes use of nodding and bending on an interpersonal, semantic, and structural level. In this order, such discursive functional devices serve a distinct politeness strategies and can, therefore, be determined as discursive strategies.
본 연구는 거베라 ‘Harmony’, ‘Sunshine’, ‘Pink melody’를 대상으로 화경 기부의 절단 정도와 수확 후 물올림 시기에 따른 수분 흡수 및 생체중 변화가 절화수명에 미치는 영향을 알아보자 수행되었다. 실험 결과 3 품종 모두 수분흡수, 생체중, 절화수명 및 수분 이동에서 비슷한 경향을 보였다. 화경 기부를 각각 3cm, 5cm, 10cm절단한 절화는 무절단과 절단 1cm 처리구에 비해서 일일수분흡수량은 더 많았고, 최초 생체중 대비 생체중 감소율은 더 낮았으며, 이로 인해 절화수명은 2-5일 연장되었다. 화경 기부의 절단 유무에 따른 수분흡수량 차이의 원인을 구명하기 위하여 현미경 검경을 통해 수분의이동 경로를 관찰한 결과, 화경 기부를 3cm 절단한 경우에는 목부 뿐만 아니라 목부섬유, 사부섬유, 수조직의 주변 세포 등을 통해 수분이 이동하는 반면, 화경 기부를 절단하지 않은 경우에는 목부로만 수분이 이동하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 수확 후 물올림 시작 시기의 지연이 거베라의 절화수명에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과, 화경 기부를 절단하지 않고 물올림 시작 시기를 지연한 절화는 지연된 시간이 길어질수록 화경굽음 및 꽃잎위조 현상이 점차 증가하였으며 절화수명도 짧아진 반면, 화경 기부를 절단한 경우에는 수확 후 12시간 까지물올림을 지연 했음에도 불구하고 절화수명에는 유의한차이를 보이지 않았다. 이는 물에 침지한 후 물관을 포함한 다양한 유관속 조직을 통하여 흡수된 많은 양의 수분이 화경과 꽃잎세포의 팽압을 회복하는데 조력했기 때문인 것으로 판단된다.
