        ZrO2 is a candidate material for hip and knee joint replacements because of its excellent combination of biocompatibility, corrosion resistance and low density. However, the drawback of pure ZrO2 is a low fracture toughness at room temperature. One of the most obvious tactics to cope with this problem is to fabricate a nanostructured composite material. Nanomaterials can be produced with improved mechanical properties(hardness and fracture toughness). The high-frequency induction heated sintering method takes advantage of simultaneously applying induced current and mechanical pressure during sintering. As a result, nanostructured materials can be achieved within very short time. In this study, W and ZrO2 nanopowders are mechanochemically synthesized from WO3 and Zr powders according to the reaction(WO3 + 3/2 Zr→W+ 3/2 ZrO2). The milled powders are then sintered using high-frequency induction heating within two minutes under the uniaxial pressure of 80MPa. The average fracture toughness and hardness of the nanostructured W-3/2 ZrO2 composite sintered at 1300oC are 540 kg/mm2 and 5 MPa·m1/2, respectively. The fracture toughness of the composite is higher than that of monolithic ZrO2. The phase and microstructure of the composite is also investigated by XRD and FE-SEM.

        In anion exchange membrane fuel cells, Pd nanoparticles are extensively studied as promising non-Pt catalysts due to their electronic structure similar to Pt. In this study, to fabricate Pd nanoparticles well dispersed on carbon support materials, we propose a synthetic strategy using mixed organic ligands with different chemical structures and functions. Simultaneously to control the Pd particle size and dispersion, a ligand mixture composed of oleylamine(OA) and trioctylphosphine(TOP) is utilized during thermal decomposition of Pd precursors. In the ligand mixture, OA serves mainly as a reducing agent rather than a stabilizer since TOP, which has a bulky structure, more strongly interacts with the Pd metal surface as a stabilizer compared to OA. The specific roles of OA and TOP in the Pd nanoparticle synthesis are studied according to the mixture composition, and the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) activity and durability of highly-dispersed Pd nanocatalysts with different particles sizes are investigated. The results of this study confirm that the Pd nanocatalyst with large particles has high durability compared to the nanocatalyst with small Pd nanoparticles during the accelerated degradation tests although they initially indicated similar ORR performance.

        Three new asymmetric light emitting organic compounds were synthesized with diphenylamine or triphenylamine side groups; 10-(3,5-diphenylphenyl)-N,N-diphenylanthracen-9-amine (MADa), 4-(10-(3,5-diphenylphenyl)anthracen-9-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (MATa), and 4-(10-(30,50-diphenylbiphenyl-4-yl) anthracen-9-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (TATa). MATa and TATa had a PLmax at 463 nm in the blue region, and MADa had a PLmax at 498 nm. The EL efficiency and color coordinate values (respectively) were 10.3 cd/A and (0.199, 0.152; bluish-green) for the MADa device, 4.67 cd/A and (0.151, 0.177) for the MATa device, and 6.07 cd/A and (0.149, 0.177) for the TATa device. The TATa device had a high external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 6.19%, and its luminance and power efficiencies and life-time were more than twice those of the MADN device.

        We synthesized new hole-transporting material, N,N'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazyl (E-Cvz-2), 9,9'-diethyl-6-(9-ethyl-carbazol-3-yl)-3,3'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-3), 6-(9,9'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazol-6-yl)-9,9'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-4A) and 9-ethyl-6-(9-ethyl-3,9'-bicarbazol-6-yl)-3,9'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-4B). EL luminance efficiencies of E-Cvz-2, E-Cvz-3, E-Cvz-4A and E-Cvz-4B devices were found to be 4.77, 5.68, 4.27 and 4.64 cd/A, respectively, when synthesized materials are using as a HTL material. The luminance efficiency of E-Cvz-3 is 25% higher than that of NPB, a commercialized HTL material used as a reference in this study.

        An ionic polyacetylene with the pendent N-glycidylpyridinium bromide, poly(2-ethynyl-N-glycidylpyridinium bromide), was synthesized in 91% yield by the activated polymerization of 2-ethynylpyridine with epibromohydrin without any additional catalyst or catalyst. This polymer exhibited characteristic UV-visible absorption band at 515nm and yellow PL spectrum at 598nm corresponding to the photon energy of 2.07 eV. The cyclovoltamograms of polymer exhibited the electrochemically stable window in the region of 1.41.8V and the redox current value gradually increased as the scan rate increased. The kinetics of the redox process of polymer was found to be well-controlled by the reactant diffusion process from the experiment of the oxidation current density of PEGPB versus the scan rate.

        The activated polymerization of 2-ethynylpyridine by using 2-thiophenecarbonyl chloride yielded the corresponding conjugated ionic polymer, poly[2-ethynylN-(2-thiophenecarbonyl)pyridinium chloride] (PETCPC). The polymerization proceeded well to give high yield of polymer without any additional initiator or catalyst. The instrumental analysis data on polymer structure indicated that the present ionic polymer have a conjugated polymer backbone system having N-(2-thiophenecarbonyl)pyridinium chloride as substituents. The photoluminescence maximum peak of PETCPC was located at 573 nm, which corresponds to the photon energy of 2.16 eV. The aromatic functional substituents in the conjugated backbone system shift PL maximum values because it makes different molecule arrangement. The cyclovoltamograms of PETCPC exhibited the electrochemically stable window at 1.24 to 1.80 V region.

        The hybrid membrane/distillation process has been suggested as an alternative to the conventional energy-intensive olefin/paraffin separation technology. In this study, bulky ethyl substituent-containing polyimides were synthesized from various aromatic dianhydrides and 4,4'-methylenebis (2,6-diethylaniline) by azeotropic imidization, and its gas tranport properties were investigated. Ethyl groups were placed ortho to the imide nitrogen, which hinders backbone rotation, chain packing, and flexibility. The synthesized polyimides exhibited a good thermal stability with high glass transition temperatures (268-285 ℃). The prepared polyimide membranes exhibited high propylene/propane selectivity and lied near to the upper bound line.

        오랜 기후변화와 관련하여 지구온난화를 늦추고자 온실가스 중 대부분의 비율을 차지하고 있는 이산화탄소를 분리 및 저장 할 수 있는 연구가 활발하다. 본 연구에서는 고 투과성을 지닌 Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS)와 이산화탄소에 대한 선택도를 지닌 Poly(ethylene glycol)을 이용하여 POSS-PEG 공중합체를 합성하였고 이를 다공성 지지체 위에 코팅하여 복합막을 제조하였다. 특성평가로는 NMR과 FT-IR 스펙트럼으로 합성의 유무를 확인한 뒤 복합막에 N2,O2,CO2 세 종류의 기체를 투과 특성함으로써 성능을 확인하였다. single gas를 투과시켰을 때 CO2/N2 선택도 24, Mixture gas를 투과시켰을 때 최대 70%의 CO2 분리성능을 나타내었다.

        본 연구에서는 바늘형 종결정 코팅 양을 조절함으로써 결정학적으로 b-축 그리고 c-축으로 배향된 모데나이트 제올라이트 분리막을 제조하고 결정학적 배향이 투과증발 에탄올 탈수 거동에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. c-축 방향으로 길게 자란 종결정 코팅 양이 증가할수록 b-축 방향에서 c-축 방향으로 성장된 분리막이 얻어졌고, 진화론적 성장 기구에 의해 설명되었다. 8R 단일채널을 갖는 b-축 배향된 분리막은 1000 이상의 선택도와 0.2 kg/m2h의 총 유속을 나타냈다. b-축 방향으로 배향된 분리막이 높은 선택도와 상대적으로 높은 투과도를 보이는 것은 물의 운동역학적 직경이 8R의 직경에 비하여 작기 때문에 물의 이동이 방해되지 않는 반면 에탄올은 상대적으로 방해받기 때문으로 설명되어졌다.

        분자수준에서 가교화된 고분자네트워크는 높은 내화학성과 비표면적을 가질 수 있다. 하지만 3차원으로 가교하기 위해서는 3개 이상의 다관능기를 가진 단량체가 사용되어야 하는데 합성 시 분자수준의 네트워크를 구성하기 전에 겔화가 되거나 침전이 발생하게 되어 높은 가교도의 고분자네트워크를 합성할 수 없다. 본 발표에서는 유기 졸-겔법을 이용하여 가교화된 고분자네트워크가 용매내에 안정하게 분산되어 있는 졸을 합성한다. 합성된 sol은 다양한 공정에 의해 나노파티클, 나노캡슐, 프리스탠딩 필름, 계층적 기공구조를 가지는 모노리스, 고분자 복합체로 가공이 가능하며 이를 이용하여 흡착제, 기체분리막 등 가스분리 응용에 적용한다.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of macaroons prepared using natural color materials (Opuntia ficus-indica var. saboten (Re-N), mulberry leaf (Gr-N), pumpkin (Ye-N), and cocoa powder (Br-N)) and corresponding artificial food colorants (red (Re-A), yellow (Ye-A), green (Gr-A) and brown (Br-A)). The moisture content of macaroons prepared using natural color material was higher compared to the macaroons prepared using artificial food colorant. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity was similar in both types of macaroons. Lightness and redness of Re-N, Gr-N, Ye-N, and Br-N macaroons were lower than Re-A, Gr-A, Ye-A and Br-A macaroons. Yellowness of Re-N was higher because of the browning reaction. The texture profile analysis revealed lower hardness when natural color powder was employed. In the sensory evaluation, overall acceptability was not significantly different between natural colored and artificial colored macaroons. As a result, macaroons with the natural color material were softer and showed higher antioxidative activity, however, organoleptic properties were not much different when compared with macaroons with artificial colors. Apparently, it is stated that more studies on the development of macaroons with more enhanced physical functionality and good taste using natural materials should be performed.

        Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) films were prepared on Mo coated soda lime glass substrates by sulfo-selenization of sputtered stacked Zn-Sn-Cu(CZT) precursor films. The precursor was dried in a capped state with aqueous NaOH solution. The CZT precursor films were sulfo-selenized in the S + Se vapor atmosphere. Sodium was doped during the sulfo-selenization treatment. The effect of sodium doping on the structural and electrical properties of the CZTSSe thin films were studied using FE-SEM(field-emission scanning electron microscopy), XRD(X-ray diffraction), XRF(X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy), dark current, SIMS(secondary ion mass spectrometry), conversion efficiency. The XRD, XRF, FE-SEM, Dark current, SIMS and cell efficiency results indicated that the properties of sulfo-selenized CZTSSe thin films were strongly related to the sodium doping. Further detailed analysis and discussion for effect of sodium doping on the properties CZTSSe thin films will be discussed.

        Core-shell structured nanoparticles are garnering attention because these nanoparticles are expected to have a wide range of applications. The objective of the present study is to improve the coating efficiency of gold shell formed on the surface of silica nanoparticles for SiO2@Au core-shell structure. For the efficient coating of gold shell, we attempt an in-situ synthesis method such that the nuclei of the gold nanoparticles are generated and grown on the surface of silica nanoparticles. This method can effectively form a gold shell as compared to the conventional method of attaching gold nanoparticles to silica particles. It is considered possible to form a dense gold shell because the problems caused by electrostatic repulsion between the gold nanoparticles in the conventional method are eliminated.

        정삼투 공정에 유용한 유도용질로서 n-nitrilotris(methylene) phosphonic acid (NTPA) 염을 합성하였다. NTPA에 첨가하는 KOH의 함량을 변화시켜 NTPA-4K, NTPA-5K, NTPA-6K 세 종류의 유도용질을 합성하고 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR을 통하여 확인하였다. 유도용질의 물성을 확인하기 위해 삼투압, 점도, 수투과도, 역염 투과도를 측정하였다. 정삼투 공정에서는 증류수를 유입용액으로 사용하고 0.5 M의 유도용액으로 실험한 결과 각각 수투과도는 35.8, 38.8, 42.2 LMH를 나타내고 5.4, 6.9, 7.4 gMH의 역염 투과도를 나타내었다. 이는 기존의 NaCl 유도용액보다 높은 수투과도와 훨씬 낮은 역염 투과도를 확인 하였다. 정삼투 공정 후 묽어진 유도용질의 회수를 위해 나노여과 방식으로 상용막을 사용하여 제거율을 측정한 결과 90% 이상의 높은 성능을 확인하였다.

        본 연구에서는 지방 알코올을 이용하여 탄소 길이에 따른 술폰산계 음이온 계면활성제를 합성하였으며, 합성한 계면활성제들의 구조를 FT-IR과 1H NMR 분석을 통하여 확인하였다. 음이온 계면활성제의 임계미셀농도(critical micelle concentration: cmc)는 10-5∼10-3mol/L이며, 임계미셀농도에서의 표면장력 값은 26∼32 mN/m이었다. 합성한 술폰산계 계면활성제의 분자당 최소 영역값은 1.68∼1.30nm2이다. 음이온 계면활성제의 분자당 최소 영역이 감소하였다. 합성한 계면활성제의 물성은 임계미셀농도, 기포력, 유화력, 접촉각을 측정하였다.

        최근 친환경에 대한 관심의 증가로 목조주택에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 목구조의 물성치에 대한 연구와 설계에 대한 지침 및 시공상세는 매우 부족하고 이에 대한 연구도 미흡하여 실무자들이 구조설계 및 시공을 하는데 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히, 내진성능이 중요시 되고 있는 현시점에서 내진성능을 확보할 수 있는 접합부의 개발이 요구된다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 다른등급구성집성재에 대한 휨실험과 압축실험을 수행하여 재료의 물성치에 대한 소재시험을 진행하였다. 제안된 접합부의 구조성능을 검증하기 위하여 접합부에 반복하중을 가력하는 실험을 수행하였다. 또한, 진행한 재료시험의 결과를 사용하여 접합부에 대하여 유한요소해석을 진행하였다. 실험 및 해석결과 개발된 접합부는 충분한 구조성능을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        Recently various composite beams in which concrete is filled in the U-shaped steel plate have been developed for saving story height and reducing construction period. Due to the high flexural stiffness and strength, they are widely being used for the building with large loads and long spans. The semi-slim AU composite beam has proven to take highly improved stability compared to the existing composite beams, because it consists of the closed steel section by attaching cap-type shear connectors to the upper side of U-shaped steel plate. In this study the finite element analyses were performed to evaluate the safety of the AU composite beam with unconsolidated concrete which were sustained through the closed steel section during the construction phase. The analyses were performed on the two types of cross section applied to the fabrication of AU composite beams, and the results were compared to the those of 2-point bending tests. In addition, the flexural performance according to the space of intermittent cap-type shear connectors and the location of reinforcing steel bars for compression was comparatively investigated. Through the results of analytical studies, it is preferable to adopt the yield moment of AU composite beam for evaluating the safety in the construction phase, and to limit the space of intermittent shear connectors to 400 mm or less for the construction load.

        공작물 주차장은 제한된 높이를 갖는 시설물로써, 제한된 층고 내에 합리적 구조가 되도록 계획하는 것이 중요하다. 공작물 주차장은 제한된 층고 내에 주차 통로부(6m)와 주차공간부(5m)를 고려한 11m 전후의 장스팬이 대부분이다. 기존의 합성보는 제한된 층고내에서 충분한 보춤을 확보할 수 없기 때문에, 처짐과 같은 사용성에 대한 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 박스형 강재보의 상부플랜지를 콘크리트 슬래브의 마감면까지 노출시킨 형상의 합성보를 개발하였다. H형 합성보, U형 합성보, Box형 합성보를 대상으로 2점가력 휨실험을 수행하여, 구조특성을 비교하였다. 그리고 주차장 모듈에 대해 대안설계를 수행하여 경제성과 효율성을 비교평가하였다.

        Over the last decade, the study of the synthesis of semiconductor colloidal quantum dots has progressed at a tremendous rate. Colloidal quantum dots, which possess unique spectral-luminescent characteristics, are of great interest in the development of novel materials and devices, which are promising for use in various fields. Several studies have been carried out on hot injection synthesis methods. However, these methods have been found to be unsuitable for large-capacity synthesis. Therefore, this review paper introduces synthesis methods other than the hot injection synthesis method, to synthesize quantum dots with excellent optical properties, through continuous synthesis and large capacity synthesis. In addition, examples of the application of synthesized colloid quantum dots in displays, solar cells, and bio industries are provided.
