        There has been increasing interest in UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete) materials in recent years. Owing to the superior mechanical properties and durability, the UHPC has been widely used for the design of various types of structures. In this paper, machine learning based compressive strength prediction methods of the UHPC are proposed. Various regression-based machine learning models were built to train dataset. For train and validation, 110 data samples collected from the literatures were used. Because the proportion between the compressive strength and its composition is a highly nonlinear, more advanced regression models are demanded to obtain better results. The complex relationship between mixture proportion and concrete compressive strength can be predicted by using the selected regression method.

        The Z-type spring is a key part of the non-vibration air suspension. The non-vibration air suspension was developed long ago and widely used in developed countries. It has strong durability, provides a smooth ride, protects the vehicle body, and protects luggages from damage in truck. In this study, the structural strength of the Z-type spring was evaluated by computing the maximum displacement and the von Mises maximum stress results from applying the load condition based on the maximum weight of luggage in the rear space of a truck.

        최근 해상풍력발전기 시장은 에너지 수요 증가, 화석 연료 기반 발전에 대한 의존도 감소와 환경 규제로 인해 향후 5년 내에 빠른 성장이 예상된다. 이러한 상황에 따라서 전 세계적으로 풍력 발전을 가속화하고 있으며, 해상풍력으로 진입하려는 시도가 많아지고 있다. 노르웨이 해상 안전 관리처(PSA: Petroleum Safety Authority)는 운영하는 동안 충돌사고에 대한 충돌에너지가 35 MJ을 견딜 수 있는 안전설계 기준을 요구하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 북해 해상풍력발전기 설치 단지에 투입되는 해상풍력발전기 설치 선박(WTIV)의 레그 (Leg)와 선박충돌 사고에 대하여 발생 가능한 충돌시나리오에 대해서 비선형 소성붕괴 거동 결과를 바탕으로 레그의 충돌강도평가법을 분석하였다. 분석된 결과로 현재 설계된 기존 선박을 기준으로 요구치인 35 MJ을 만족을 위해서는 200 % 이상의 단면계수 증가가 필 요하고, 이는 현실적인 레그 설계에서는 불가능한 조건으로 판단됐다. 또한, 합리적인 충돌시나리오를 기반으로 한 충돌에너지 기준의 제정이 필요하다.

        The high-temperature properties of mild steels were studied by comparing the test results of Kwon and the yield strength, tangent modulus predicted by the design provisions of ASCE and Eurocode(EC3). The column strengths for steel members at high temperatures were determined by the elastic and inelastic buckling strengths according to elevated temperatures. The material properties at high temperatures should be used in the strength evaluations of high temperature members. The buckling strengths obtained from the AISC, EC3 and approximate formula proposed by Takagi et al. were compared with ones calculated by the material nonlinear analysis using the EC3 material model. The newly simplified formulas for yield stress, tangent modulus, proportional limit and buckling strength which were proposed through a comparative study of the material properties and buckling strengths. The buckling strengths of proposed formulas were approximately equivalent to ones obtained from the formulas of Takagi et al. within 4% . They were corresponded to the lower bound values among the buckling strengths calculated by the design formulas and inelastic buckling analysis.

        신조 방식의 제조업의 특성상 경기 사이클이 존재하기 때문에, 장기적으로 이를 대처할 동반 산업이 절실하게 필요로 하고 있다. 이러한 요구에 적합한 분야가 수리조선업 분야이다. 수리조선업을 운영하기 위해서는 플로팅도크가 필수적으로 필요로 하며, 대부분 노후화된 플로팅도크를 해외로부터 수입한 후, 개/보수를 통하여 운용하고 있다. 그러나, 사용연한이 최소 30년 이상이고, 운용 시 특정 선급에 입급을 시키지 않기 때문에, 안전성에 대한 정확한 지침은 전무한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 노후화된 플로팅도크의 계측한 두께 정 보를 활용하여, 구조강도 검토를 수행하고, 운용중인 플로팅도크의 잔류 구조강도를 분석하였다. 연구를 통하여 도출된 주요 결과들은 유사 설비의 구조 안전성 검토에 대한 가이드라인을 참조할 수 있으며, 개/보수 시 이러한 방법을 활용하면 빠른 시간 내에 최적 해를 찾을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        In the current steel structures of high-rise buildings, high heat input welding techniques are used to improve productivity in the construction industry. Under the high heat input welding, however, the microstructures of the weld metal (WM) and heat-affected zone (HAZ) coarsen, resulting in the deterioration of impact toughness. This study focuses mainly on the effects of fine TiN precipitates dispersed in steel plates and B addition in welding materials on grain refinement of the HAZ microstructure under submerged arc welding (SAW) with a high heat input of 200 kJ/cm. The study reveals that, different from that in conventional steel, the γ grain coarsening is notably retarded in the coarse grain HAZ (CGHAZ) of a newly developed steel with TiN precipitates below 70 nm in size even under the high heat input welding, and the refinement of HAZ microstructure is confirmed to have improved impact toughness. Furthermore, energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and secondary-ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) analyses demonstrate that B is was identified at the interface of TiN in CGHAZ. It is likely that B atoms in the WM are diffused to CGHAZ and are segregated at the outer part of undissolved TiN, which contributes partly to a further grain refinement, and consequently, improved mechanical properties are achieved.

        In current research, it was attempted a preliminary design and evaluation of non-uniform ultra high-strength concrete (UHSC) truss members. UHSC used here has the compressive strength of 180 MPa, the tensile strength of 8 to 20 MPa, and the tensile strain after cracks up to 2%. By the three-dimensional finite element stress analysis as well as strut-tie approach on concrete solid beams, the non-uniform truss shape of UHSC truss was designed with the architectural esthetic concept. In a series of examples, to compare with conventional concrete members, the proposed UHSC truss members have advantages in capabilities of the slender design with minimum weight with high performances under transverse loadings as well as the aesthetically non-uniform design for spatial structures.

        A parametric study was carried out to gain an insight about structural performances considering abnormal behavior effects in high strength steel pipe strut system. Six load cases were considered as undesirable deflections of strut structures, which are basic load combination, excessive excavation situations, impact loading effects, additional overburden loads, load combinations, and 50% reduction of strut length. Subsequent simulation results present various influences of parameters on structural performances of the strut system. Based on the results, we propose methods to prevent unusual behaviors of pipe-type strut structures made of high strength steels.

        본 연구에서는 쌍동형 카페리에 다수 존재하는 유공판의 좌굴강도 설계 수행 결과 및 개선사항을 논의하고 있다. 카페리와 같이 길이가 50미터 이상이고, 길이/폭의 비가 12보다 큰 중/소형 고속선박은 상대적으로 두께가 얇고 연강을 사용함으로서 좌굴강도가 취약해질 가능성이 농후하다. 특히, 작업자의 접근 및 통로로 활용되는 유공판에서 좌굴강도가 취약해질 가능성이 있다. 안전한 구조설계를 위해서는 유공주위의 면내 하중 재 분포에 의한 좌굴강도 및 최종강도에 대한 명확한 검토가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 유공판의 좌굴 및 최종강도 특성에 영향을 미치는 매개변수의 영향을 종합적으로 고려하기 위하여 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ANSYS를 활용한 비선형시리즈 해석을 수행하였으며, 주요 변수(종횡비, 유공비, 유공형상)들에 대한 영향을 검토하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 하여, 유공판의 좌굴강도를 결정짓는 가장 큰 인자는 유공비였으며, 종횡비와 유공의 형상은 그 영향이 미비하였다.

        In the present study, FE analysis was performed for characterising structural strength of a seat frame w.r.t. varying sectional shapes as well as different materials of the seat back frame based on the FMVSS 207 regulation in order to obtain the design outline of a lightweight seat frane structure. Four types of materials, i.e., SAPH440, Al7021, Al6082 and carbon/epoxy composites were applied to the seat back frame type beams and their bending behaviours were compared by three point bending FE analysis. Consequently, the lightweight structure of seat back frame with the equivalent strength characteristics of conventional frame was suggested.

        Coal Ash, a byproduct of coal combustion in power plants, is usually disposed in surface impoundments or wet disposal areas and landfill sites. Toxic substances contained in coal ash which slowly seep into the groundwater and aquifers in nearby impoundments, and which are also dispersed by wind and storm water in landfill sites, lead to serious health and environmental effects. The main focus of this study is to analyze the strength characteristics of the recycled coal ash mixed with dredged soil to test its capabilities from external forces such as in the stacking of geotextile tubes. The SEM and XRF analysis were carried out in order to grasp the grain size and composition of the coal ash and the dredged soil. To find the optimum mixing ratio of the coal ash and dredge soil, the type of deformation and the strength of the different mixtures were obtained by performing a uniaxial compression test. The relationship between the compressive stress and deformation of the uniaxial compression test and the tubular structure formed by injecting the coal ash into geotextile tube was confirmed and the applicability of the geotextile tube reinforced with the recycled and improved fill material is very high.
