        This study proposes a numerical model to explain the closely placed double modes in the vibration of a layered stone pagoda system. The friction surface between the stones is modelled as the Timoshenko finite element while each stone layer is modelled as a rigid body. It is assumed that the irregular asperity on the friction surface enables the stone to be excited. This results in the closely placed modes that are composed of natural modes and self-excited modes. To examine the validity of the proposed model, a set of modal testing and analysis for a layered stone pagoda mock-up model has been conducted and a set of closely placed double modes are extracted. Applying the extended sensitivity-based system identification technique, the various system parameters are identified so that the modal parameters of the proposed numerical model are the same with those of the experimental mock-up. For a horizontal impulse excitation, the simulated acceleration responses are compared with measurements.

        In the sewer pipes, reinforced concrete pipes and concrete pipes are mostly used. However, it is difficult to ensure the long-term durability of the pipe due to the corrosion of the rebar which is used for the reinforcement of the concrete. Also, reinforced concrete pipes are difficult to secure watertightness due to deterioration and corrosion by hydrogen sulfide. In order to solve such problems, research on using sewer pipes made of plastic materials is being actively conducted. When soil pressure and live load act on the buried flexible pipe, the load acting on the pipe is transferred to the surrounding soil. So, the flexible pipe will support the load with the surrounding soil together. It is difficult to predict these behaviors theoretically and clearly. Therefore, the design equation for the buried flexible pipe is analyzed by adopting theoretically idealized assumptions and it is estimated through experimental studies that it is similar to the actual structural behavior. In this paper, the mechanical properties of the soil and the polyethylene pipe were considered in application of the method proposed in ASTM D 2412 to design the buried polyethylene pipe. Also, structural behavior of the pipe resisting external loads such as soil pressure was investigated to use a polyethylene pipe as the buried pipe and the long-term behavior of the polyethylene pipe was predicted by the compaction rate of surrounding backfill soil through the field test.

        The Hong Nang Sida temple is a cultural heritage that must be preserved due to the historical and cultural values that are highly evaluated in the world. The main sanctuary of Hong Nang Sida temple, presumed to have been built in 11th to 12th centuries, has been exposed in the open air for a long time after the collapse. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct the original shape of the Hong Nang Sida temple to reflect the original shape. To do this, it is necessary to examine the overall structure according to the restoration shape. For this purpose, this study analyzes the construction and configuration types for main sanctuary Mandapa of Hong Nang Sida temple, and conducts structural modeling according to actual and restoration plans. The structural and behavioral characteristics are analyzed by comparing stress and displacement values by measurement locations. In addition, we will examine the vertical load distribution by the layers of each wall and cobel arch of the Mandapa using the load distribution method.

        본 논문에서는 쌍동형 카페리에 대한 기본구조설계 및 구조해석을 위한 기법을 제시한다. 카페리와 같이 길이가 50미터 이상이 고, 길이/폭의 비가 12보다 큰 중/소형 고속선박의 강도해석에 대한 규정이나 방법론은 아직까지 명확하게 제시되지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 한국선급 규정을 이용하여 부재 스캔틀링을 수행하였고, 설계안에 대한 구조강도 검증을 위해서 카페리 전용선박 기준을 추 가적으로 적용하여 검토하였다. 특히, 카페리 전용선박 기준을 이용하여, 선체거더 최종강도를 추가적으로 수행하였으며, 기존 기준에 의 한 설계의 모호성을 극복하도록 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 연구 결과는 앞으로 고속 쌍동형 카페리의 구조설계 및 구조해석에 관련된 기본적인 자료로 유용하게 활용될 것으로 예상되며, 현재 설계된 쌍동형 카페리의 부재 치수는 한국선급 기준에 충분히 만족하면 서 구조적으로 안전하다.

        In the present study, FE analysis was performed for characterising structural strength of a seat frame w.r.t. varying sectional shapes as well as different materials of the seat back frame based on the FMVSS 207 regulation in order to obtain the design outline of a lightweight seat frane structure. Four types of materials, i.e., SAPH440, Al7021, Al6082 and carbon/epoxy composites were applied to the seat back frame type beams and their bending behaviours were compared by three point bending FE analysis. Consequently, the lightweight structure of seat back frame with the equivalent strength characteristics of conventional frame was suggested.

        본 연구에서는 다양한 변수를 갖는 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템에 대한 성능기반설계의 타당성과 이에 따른 모멘트 재분배 개념의 적용성을 분석하기 위해 횡력을 지지하는 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템에 대한 비선형해석을 수행하였다. 설계변수(철근 비, 콘크리트변형률, 벽체높이)가 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템의 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며 이를 기반으로 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템의 성능기반 설계를 위한 고려사항을 제안하였다. 비선형해석 결과, 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템 성능기반 설계 와 모멘트 재분배 개념의 적용을 위해서는 연결보의 항복여부에 대한 고려가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 높은 벽체의 경우, 연 결보가 항복하지 않고 탄성 상태로 거동할 수 있기 때문에 고층 병렬 RC 구조벽체시스템에 대해 성능기반 설계 및 모멘트 재분배 개념을 적용하기 위해서는 벽체에 높은 수준의 소성변형능력을 필요로 하며, 이를 위해 벽체 압축단부에 횡보강을 필수적으로 실시해야 한다.

        In this study, we investigate the mechanical and metallurgical properties of the gas metal arc welding. According to flux cored arc welding parameters during welding ATOS80, improving the working conditions of the welding industry to use high strength steel ATOS80 we propose to. Weld test is the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness, brittleness, such as macro-structure check of the mechanical properties and the weld, the microstructure inspection, defects of the weld subjected to radio-graphic inspection and tissue after welding the test pieces according to the condition variable comparative analysis was investigated by the state.

        왕복동식 압축기에서 피스톤과 커넥팅로드는 중요한 부분이다. 이러한 주요부에 기계적 부하가 과도하게 가해지면 해당 기부 속이 손상될 수 있으며, 교체하기도 쉽지 않고 비용도 많이 든다. 따라서 내구성과 수명에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 최대 응력 집중 위치를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설계된 공기압축기의 작업 공정의 동적 계산을 기반으로 피스톤 및 커넥팅로드의 응력 분석을 수행하였다. 공기압축기의 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 3 차원 모델을 따로 설계하고, 이러한 부품들의 유한요소 해석은 수치해석적인 근사해법을 사용하였다. 피스톤은 열 경계 조건 없이 크랭크 샤프트의 각도에 따라 압 력 부하를 받는다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 응력 집중 위치와 그 값을 예측하고 추정할 수 있다. 그 결과 크랭크 각도 135°와 225°에서 피스톤은 190MPa, 커넥팅로드는 123MPa 이상의 최대 등가응력이 나타났으며 이는 인장 항복강도 이하의 값이다. 또한, 커넥팅로드와 피스톤에 계산 된 안전 계수는 1보다 높게 나타났다. 더욱이, 이러한 결과는 왕복동 공기압축기 제작사에 피스톤 및 커넥 팅로드를 설계함에 있어서 최적화를 위한 참고 자료로 활용 될 수 있다.

        In product development, different divisions and businesses often have heterogeneous CAD/CAE systems and methods for expressing product data, and addressing this heterogeneity creates additional costs and causes longer development periods. To ensure successful collaboration in the design process, it is therefore imperative that different CAD, CAE, and other related systems be managed in an organic and integrated manner from the initial stages of product development. Therefore, this study suggests an integrated CAD/CAE system including optimal design in a more effective and integrated manner but also to support interfacing and the collective use of design and analysis tools. To validate the proposed method, a stiffened plate example is taken as an example. It is found that the proposed method could overcome the bottleneck of CAD and CAE such as transferability of data, though CATIA and ANSYS are used at the moment.

        This paper analyzed structural behaviors of the staggered truss system, typically used in low seismicity regions, resisting the lateral loads such as wind and seismic load. A comparative study of cost and efficiency was carried out by analysing and designing the 10- and 20-story buildings with various types of truss, including pratt, howe, warren, K-, and vierendeel, which may typically be used in staggered truss system. In design, column and truss members are selected in group, and the efficiency of the member design was judged by average demand capacity ratio of the all members in same group. And economic analysis of the system was investigated by the quantity of the structural members. As a result, staggered truss system with the pratt truss and warren truss showed the most economical and efficient performance for 10-story building, and 20-story building, respectively.

        Defects of zeolite membranes often lower their separation performance. Thus, the investigation of the defects is highly critical in achieving high separation performance. While general characterization methods (e.g. scanning electron microscopy; SEM) that examine the membrane surface cannot detect defects, the FCOM measurement is able to identify the defective structure inside the zeolite membrane using dye molecules of appropriate size [1]. In this work, various dyeing conditions (times and concentrations) were applied to a MFI zeolite membrane in an attempt to investigate the defective structure. Furthermore, the quantitative analysis is practiced to measure the defects in numerical form.

        Peeling machine has been industrially used to peel the metallic circular bar such as cast iron, cast steel, SUS series. Especially peeling process was reported to not ease in case of SUS series due to its high hardness. Structural analysis for roller jig in peeling machine was performed to evaluate the structural safety. For these purposes, stress, deformation and safety factor were investigated. As the results, maximum stress was occurred at shaft and maximum deformation was occurred at side plate in roller jig. Further since the minimum safety factor of top plate was 8.16 in case of guarantee pressure, it is considered that roller jig of peeling machine in this study was structurally safe.

        In the present study, the structural and fatigue analysis on the shape change of an automatic press are investigated for prediction of operation safety and reliability of the automatic press along the thickness(t) and length(L) of head, and corner shapes(case 1, 2, 3). The equivalent stress and deformation characteristics of the automatic press were studied by computerized analysis method for the bushing production of the seat frame. An external stress of 14.0 MPa was applied to predict the operation stability and the fatigue limit of the structure. As the thickness of the header increased and the length of the header decreased, the load stability applied by the piston improved and the maximum stress and deformation were reduced. In addition, due to the change in shape of the corners, the load applied at the cross-sectional area of the corners decreases, and then the maximum stress and deformation appearing in the header are reduced. That is, the change of corner shapes affects the equivalent stress and deformation. That is the change of corner shapes affects the equivalent stress and deformation. From the fatigue and vibration analysis, fatigue failure does not occur even when the number of alternating operation of the automatic press increases, and the natural frequency is predicted for dynamic characteristics.

        구조용 강재의 용접부는 강재(Base metal, BM), 용접모재(Weld metal, WM), 열영향부(Heat affected zone, HAZ)로 구성된다. 용접부를 구성하는 이들 세 부분의 구조적 성질은 서로 다를 것이므로, 강재의 용접부의 구조 거동은 BM, WM, HAZ로 구성된 복합체의 거동으로 고려할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 용접부를 구성하는 BM, WM, HAZ 각각의 탄성계수를 나노압입으로 도출하고, 이들의 복합거동(composite action)을 고려한 용접부의 등가탄성계수(equivalent elastic modulus)를 산정하였다.
