The family Pteromalidae are one of the numerous and economically important groups of parasitoids, but our knowledge of this group in South Korea is limited. Up to date, only 39 species of 27 genera belonging to five subfamilies have been recorded from south Korea. This study is based on the material from the Applied Entomology Division, Department of Agricultural Biology, National Academy of Agricultural Science (NAAS) and Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan, South Korea (YNU). As a result of this study, four species (Diglochis sylvicola (Walker), Lariophagus obtusus Kamijo, Mokrzeckia lazoensis Tselikh, Paracarotomus cephalotes Ashmead,) in Pteromalinae are recorded for the first time in South Korea. Among them two genera (Diglochis Förster, Paracarotomus Ashmead,) recorded for the first time in South Korea. Therefore, 43 species of 29 genera in Pteromalidae are recorded from South Korea.

The subfamily Allantinae is one of the large subfamilies within the family Tenthredinidae with about 900 described species in the world. All of the species are worldwide distributed and 322 of them are from Eastern Palaearctic region. Also, in the neighboring countries, it has been recorded that 275 species in China, 90 species in Japan and 131 species in Russia. But only 15 species have been reported in South Korea. Generally subfamily Allantinae can be easily recognized from other subfamilies by the following characters in fore wing: Veins M and Rs+M meeting Sc+R at or very near the same point; vein 2A+3A complete, always separated from 1A by an anal crossvein; veins M and 1m-cu parallel; vein 2r present. Moreover, all larvae of Allantinae are phytophagous and external feeders on the foliage of the host. In this study, we report eight species belonging to the five genera (Allantus, Ametastegia, Apethymus, Asiemphytus and Taxonus) from South Korea for the first time. As a total of 11 genera and 24 species in Allantinae were identified to occur in South Korea. A key, diagnoses and photographs of the diagnostic characters are provided.

A harpacticoid species, Paramphiascella fulvofasciata Rosenfield and Coull, 1974, belonging to Miraciidae Dana, 1846 is newly reported from Korean waters. The species is mostly related with P. pacifica Vervoort, 1962, however, it is easily distinguished by the typical structure of male P2 in having 1 large spine and 2 setae on P2 enp-2. Korean materials represented some discrepancies from the original description of P. fulvofasciata in the detailed structures of mouth parts. The present study is a first record of the genus Paramphiascella Lang, 1944 from Korean waters.

Fivenewly recorded subfamilies, Diacritinae, Microleptinae, Orthocentrinae, Orthopelmatinae, and Phrudinae, were the small and rare subfamilies of the family Ichneumonidae except Orthocentrinae. The first subfamily Orthocentrinae have been reported 31 genera with 481 species worldwide but we have a very poor knowledge of this subfamily in Korea. This subfamily is known for larval koinobiont endoparasitoids of Diptera (Humala, 2008). The second subfamily Diacritinae have been reported six species in the world and distributed four species in the Eastern Palaearctic (Yu et al., 2012). The third subfamily Microleptinae have been recorded only one genus with 13 species in the world. Among them 10 species are distributed in the Eastern Palaearctic. The fourth subfamily Orthopelmatinae have been reported nine species of one genus in the world, five species in the Eastern Palaearctic. The final subfamily Phrudinae have been reported 29 species in the world, five species in the Eastern Palaearctic. The subfamily Eucerotinae have been recorded 50 species in the world and four species from Korea. This subfamily is known for hyperparasitoids of Ichneumonoidea (Wahl & Sharkey, 1993). In this paper we report not only five newly recorded subfamilies new to Korean fauna but also eight newly recorded species included two species of Eucerotinae for the first time from Korea.

In North Korea, the Tortricidae has been poorly studied until Byun et al. (1998) reviewed 350 species from Korea, including 63 species of Tortricinae and 40 species of Olethreutinae. Then Razowski (1999) presented a checklist of 358 species of Tortricidae from Korea, including 176 species of the North Korean Tortricidae with mostly based on the avaialble materials in Poland and previous literatures. Later, a serial studies on the family Tortricdae of North Korea with the material deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum provided several additional data for the North Korean tortricid fauna (Byun 2009; Byun 2011a; Byun 2011b; Byun 2011c; Byun et al. 2007) During the course of the study on the Tortricidae of North Korea deposited in Hungarian Natural History Museum, the author found three species of Olethreutes for the first time from North Korea. Of them, Olethreutes aviana Falkovitsh is also newly reported to the Korean peninsula. The aim of the present study is to report the three species of Olethreutes as new to North Korean fauna. In the present study, three species of the genus Olethreutes: O. aviana Falkovitsh, O. obovata (Walsingham), and O. orthocosma (Meyrick), based on the material deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, are reported for the first time from North Korea. Among them, O. aviana Falkovitsh is recorded as new to the Korean peninsula. Photographs of the adults and genitalia of the species are presented.

The family Tineidae (Lepidoptera), known as fungus moths or tineid moths, contains more than 3,500 species in over 320 genera (Robinson & Nielsen, 1993). It has been known 26 species in 17 genera from Korea (Byun et al., 2009). In this study, two species, Monopis congestella (Walker) and Harmaclona tephrantha (Meyrick), are reported from Korea for the first time. According to Nasu et al. (2008), larvae of M. congestella were founded from nests of Goshawk and Ural Owl and the species distribute South-East Asia and Japan. The genus Harmaclona is known from the Oriental, Ethiopian Regions and the New World but only from China in North-East Asia (Huang, 2010). The adult photos and genitalia illustrations of those two species are provided.

Anaphothrips Uzel, 1895 is a large genus in the family Thripidae with about 80 species in the world. Members of the genus are generally found on plants of the grass families, Poaceae and Cyperaceae. Anaphothrips was formerly paraphyletic group until critical review by Bhatti (1978), who elevated six subgenera to generic status. Only one species, A. obscurus (Muller, 1776), has been known in Korea. It widely distributes and rarely damages to forage crops. As a result of this study, Anaphothrips asahi Kudo, 1989 is found for the first time in Korea. A. asahi easily distinguished from A. obsurus by undivided 8th antennal segment and C-shaped glandular areas on abdomen of male. Although not frequent, A. asahi also widely distributes in our country. For identification, morphological characters of two species in Korea are described and figured. In addition, biological information about distribution and plant relationship is also presented.
