        This study selected two labor-intensive processes in harsh environments among domestic food production processes. It analyzed their improvement effectiveness using 3-dimensional (3D) simulation. The selected processes were the “frozen storage source transfer and dismantling process” (Case 1) and the “heavily loaded box transfer process” (Case 2). The layout, process sequence, man-hours, and output of each process were measured during a visit to a real food manufacturing factory. Based on the data measured, the 3D simulation model was visually analyzed to evaluate the operational processes. The number of workers, work rate, and throughput were also used as comparison and verification indicators before and after the improvement. The throughput of Case 1 and Case 2 increased by 44.8% and 69.7%, respectively, compared to the previous one, while the utilization rate showed high values despite the decrease, confirming that the actual selected process alone is a high-fatigue and high-risk process for workers. As a result of this study, it was determined that 3D simulation can provide a visual comparison to assess whether the actual process improvement has been accurately designed and implemented. Additionally, it was confirmed that preliminary verification of the process improvement is achievable.

        Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) has been operating the Post Irradiation Examination Facility (PIEF) for fuel examinations. The facility has pools and hot cells for handling and examining fuel assemblies and rods. Among the hot cells, the second cell is for measuring rod internal pressure (RIP) and then cutting the rod to make samples for destructive tests. Currently, the cutting machine is broken, so it has to be replaced. Because the existing cutting machine consists of many parts and its size was quite a bit large to handle and treat for the radioactive waste disposal, the disassembly work has been performed to make it smaller using manipulators. The drawings of the cutting machine were reviewed and the disassembly tools were developed considering workability when the work performed at the hot cell using the manipulators. The large parts such as motor, mirror and cable, etc., were able to be disassembled and the machine size became so smaller that it could be easily handled for the disposal.

        Due to increasing awareness on the treatment of end-of-use/life products, disassembly has been a fast-growing research area of interest for many researchers over recent decades. This paper introduces a novel lot-sizing problem that has not been studied in the literature, which is the service-parts lot-sizing with disassembly option. The disassembly option implies that the demands of service parts can be fulfilled by newly manufactured parts, but also by disassembled parts. The disassembled parts are the ones recovered after the disassembly of end-of-use/life products. The objective of the considered problem is to maximize the total profit, i.e., the revenue of selling the service parts minus the total cost of the fixed setup, production, disassembly, inventory holding, and disposal over a planning horizon. This paper proves that the single-period version of the considered problem is NP-hard and suggests a heuristic by combining a simulated annealing algorithm and a linear-programming relaxation. Computational experiment results show that the heuristic generates near-optimal solutions within reasonable computation time, which implies that the heuristic is a viable optimization tool for the service parts inventory management. In addition, sensitivity analyses indicate that deciding an appropriate price of disassembled parts and an appropriate collection amount of EOLs are very important for sustainable service parts systems.

        In this study, the apoptotic effects of the actin disruption agent, latrunculin B(LB) have been investigated on p53 deficient chronic myeloid leukemia cell line K562. A dose-dependent decrease in K562 cell proliferation was observed after LB treatment with maximum decrease in cell proliferation being at 1.5μM where the percent inhibition was 66.53%. F-actin stained with TRITC-phalloidin was shown as a peripheral ring or appeared diffusely distributed throughout the cytoplasm in untreated cells, this actin ring was decreased following LB treatment, and even large focal actin aggregates were formed. Treatment of K562 with LB(1.5μM) generated ROS substantially. LB activated expression in a dose-dependent manner. Therefore it can be concluded that LB, depolymerising agent of actin, induces apoptosis by producing ROS and up-regulating NF-kB and COX-2 activation.

For the proper scope with this environment pollution, recycling of parts and materials, minimization of wastes are desirable. And application of disassembly technology is required for it necessarily. Therefore it is essential to study systematically about disassembly technology of ELV with high efficiency for improvement recycling ratio and diminution shredder dust amount also in Korea.

        In this study, the development of gravity type collecting device for nuclear dismantling through CFD simulation is shown as follows. As a result of investigating the dust removal efficiency according to the treatment air velocity of 5 m/s (low speed) ~ 30 m/s (high speed), large dusts (80 ~ 100 ㎛) As the wind speed increases, the damping efficiency decreases and the particle size of the dust behavior increases with the increase of the wind speed. As a result, the wind speed (wind speed) 5 m/s is considered to be suitable for improving the vibration damping efficiency.

        현재 국내 디스플레이 생산과 수요의 꾸준한 증가 추세와 전자 제품의 짧은 순환주기를 고려하였을 때 향후 폐디스플레이의 발생량은 급증할 것으로 예측 되며, 2020년에 약 75만 t이 발생할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 하지만, 국내 폐디스플레이 재활용 기술은 선진국에 비해 매우 미비하며, 대부분 수작업을 통해 금속류만 회수하여 재활용 하고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 제조사에 따라 디스플레이의 부품 구성 및 설계가 다양하여 해체・분리에 가장 많은 시간이 소비되며, 이는 작업 효율 감소 문제로 이어지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 폐디스플레이 재활용 공정효율 향상을 위한 체계적인 폐디스플레이 해체・분리 시스템을 구축하고자 하였으며, 개발 시스템은 오토 로딩 시스템, 스마트 비전 인식 시스템, 폐디스플레이 해체・분리 시스템, CCFL 자동무인화 처리 시스템으로 구성된다. 오토 로딩 시스템의 경우 기존 수작업에 의존하던 폐디스플레이 적재작업을 자동화함으로써 작업자의 작업 환경을 개선함과 동시에 공정의 효율을 증대 시키는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 스마트 비전 인식 시스템의 경우 작업자의 경험에 의존한 다양한 폐디스플레이의 해체・분리 공정을 개선하기 위해 도입하였으며, 작업자에게 페디스플레이가 공급되기 전 자동으로 폐디스플레이의 정보를 확인하고 작업자에게 해체작업 정보를 제공함으로써 작업자의 경험차이에서 발생되는 문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 또한, 기존에 한명의 작업자가 하나의 폐디스플레이 전체를 해체・분리하는 방식을 다수의 작업대를 설계하여 세분화 및 단순화 하였으며, 작업자 간의 폐디스플레의 이송이 원활하도록 병렬구조 이송 라인 설계 등 작업 효율 증대를 위한 해체・분리 작업 시스템을 개발 하였다. 마지막으로 기존 수작업 공정에서 작업자에게 수은과 같은 유해물질을 직접적으로 노출시키는 CCFL 처리 공정은 무인 자동화함으로써 수은으로 인한 문제를 해결하였다. 이렇게 개발된 시스템은 기존에 수작업만을 사용했던 공정에 자동화 시스템을 적용함으로써 작업 효율 증대, 작업 환경 개선 등의 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것이다.
