This study was conducted to find out the effects of seed mixture using new domestic grass varieties orchardgrass ‘Onnuri’ and tall fescue ‘Greenmaster’ on botanical composition and dry matter productivity from 2015 to 2018 in oversown hilly pasture, the central northern area of Korea. This experiment was consisted of 4 mixed grasses (Treatment 1 : tall fescue oriented mixture with imported varieties; Treatment 2 : orchardgrass oriented mixture with imported varieties; Treatment 3 : orchardgrass oriented mixture with domestic varieties, Treatment 4 : tall fescue oriented mixture with domestic varieties). Evaluation of seasonal changes in botanical composition of pasture showed that orchardgrass was the highest in all treatments, ranging from 46 to 89% and Kentucky bluegrass was the second highest in all treatments. Treatment 3 (7,633 kg ha-1) and Treatment 4 (7,570 kg ha-1), mixed grasses using domestic varieties, were showed the highest dry matter yield than Treatment 1(6,950 kg ha-1) and Treatment 2 (6,934 kg ha-1), which were mixed grasses using introduced varieties. Therefore, these results showed that the orchard grass oriented grasses mixture with domestic varieties was good for grassland vegetation and productivity in oversown hilly pasture, the central northern area of Korea.
This experiment was carried out to study the change of productivity and feed value in different types of hilly pasture. The pasture utilized in the experiment was placed on the experimental farm of Pyeongchang Campus of Seoul National University. Forage production type(FP; Orchardgrass 18 + Tall Fescue 12 + Timothy 5 + White clover 5 kg/ha) and Public farm type(PF: Orchardgrass 12 + Tall Fescue 18 + Timothy 5 + White clover 5 kg/ha) pasture were established in September 3, 2014 and utilized (cutting or grazing) four times every year. Growth characteristics, yield and forage quality were investigated for two years. Plant height of grasses was the highest in the 1st cutting and legumes was in the 2nd cutting. Dry matter (DM) content was highest at every the 1st cut grasses significantly lower at the 2nd harvest (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th harvest in 2016. In the botanical composition change, the portion of legume was gradually increased after pasture establishment and the ratio of weed and bare land was higher at 2nd and 3rd cutting, but it was decreased at 4th harvest. There was no significant difference in 2016 of fresh yield between two farm types (p>0.05). The yield of dry matter showed similar trend of fresh yield and forage production type was higher than that of public farm type (p<0.05). The forage intake by livestock was 1,452 kg/ha in 2015 and 1,743 kg/ha in 2016. Pasture utilization ratio of public farm type pasture was highest in the 3rd grazing time. Forage quality of pasture in relation to management type had not significant difference, but there was difference in harvest times. Crude protein (CP) was the lowest in the 1st harvest and total digestible nutrient (TDN) was highest in the 1st harvest and lowest in the 4th harvest. Based on the above results, it is found that the establishment of pasture suitable for farm’s situation is important for set up of Korean model of hilly pasture. Although the forage production type is superior on forage productivity, it is recommended that the results will be provided as basic data for management of public farm type in the future.
본 연구는 평창지역의 산지에서 목초 파종시기가 초지의 연차별 식생 및 생산성에 미치는 영향을 구명하고 평창지역의 산지초지 조성에 적합한 피종시기를 설정하고자 2015년 8월부터 2017년 10월까지 평창군에 위치한 서울대학교 국제농업기술대학원의 산지에서 수행되었다. 처리는 총 4처리로 T1: 8월 13일 파종 T2: 8월 27일 파종, T3: 9월 10일 파종, T4: 9월 24일 파종이었다. 월동 후 초지 식생구성을 보면 T1과 T2까지는 목초 식생비율이 98%이상으로 높은 식생밀도를 보였지만 T3이후부터는 급격하게 감소하였다. 분얼의 경우 T1과 T2에서 4.4개 이상으로 양호하였지만 T3이후에는 급격하게 감소하였다. 이러한 초기 월동률의 차이는 이후 목초의 식생 및 생산성에 큰 영향을 주었다. 연차별 식생변화를 보면 T1과 T2의 경우 목초 비율이 81%이상으로 우수하였지만 T4의 경우 상대적으로 불량하였다. 전체 건물 수량의 경우 T2와 T1이 각각 9,042 kg ha-1 와 8,845 kg-1 로 우수하게 나타났지만 T4의 경우 5,086 kg ha-1 로 건물 생산성이 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 결과를 종합해보면 평창지역에서 8월 말까지 파종을 완료 한 경우 목초 월동이 향상되었으며 이는 식생이나 생산성 측면에서 유리하게 나타났다.
This study was conducted to explore the effects of seeding rate of a seed mixture on grassland productivity and botanical composition. Seeding rates were composed of four different treatments varying by the amount of seed: T1, 50% decrease in seeding rate from standard; T2, standard seeding rate; T3, 50% increase in seeding rate from standard; and T4, 100% increase in seeding rate from standard. In 2016, seasonal changes in grass botanical composition revealed T2, T3, and T4 in portion of grass ratio were the highest with a range of 87–100%, whereas T1 was the lowest of all treatments. In 2017, the botanical composition in T1 showed that the grass ratio in of the first cutting was 91%, but in the fourth cutting its ratio decreased by 75%. The results from both years were combined for each treatment, T4 (11,435 kg ha-1) and T3 (11,162 kg ha-1) demonstrated the highest dry matter yield of the treatments (T1: 8,196 kg ha-1; T2: 9,521 kg ha-1) (p<0.05). As a result, a 50–100% increase in the seeding rate from the standard demonstrated the best grassland yield and botanical composition.
The aim of this study was to collect the basic data for effective creation and management of hilly pasture. The investigation of flora and vegetation was conducted at 59 relevés in hilly pasture of Daegwallyeong from 2014 to 2016. The vascular plants of the hilly pasture were 121 listed taxa which contain 38 families, 90 genera, 104 species, 13 varieties, and 12 subspecies. The biological type of the hilly pasture was determined as the Th-D4-R5-e type. Twelve taxa were of naturalized plants composed of 5 families, 9 genera, 12 species. The urbanization index and the naturalized index were 3.7% and 9.9%, respectively. The vegetation types in the hilly pasture were classified into the following 3 communities: the Spiraea miyabei-Spiraea salicifolia community, the Persicaria thunbergii community, and the Agrostis alba-Phleum pratense community. The Agrostis alba-Phleum pratense community was classified into the following 5 subcommunities: the Poa pratensis subcommunity, the Artemisia princeps subcommunity, the Festuca ovina subcommunity, the Rumex acetosella subcommunity, and the typical subcommunity. Two factors (slope and EC) had the strongest impact on plant community distribution. Especially, the steep sloping sites (over 40°) did not play a crucial role in maintaining adequate pasture because of the invasion and establishment of shrubs.
This study was conducted to find out the effects of over seeding using new grass varieties orchardgrass ‘Kordione’ and ‘Onnuri’, and tall fescue ‘Greenmaster’ on botanical composition and dry matter productivity from 2013 to 2016 in low productivity hilly pasture, middle area of Korea. There were used 3 grass seed mixture types made of different compositions and amounts {T1: control - no over seeding, T2: tall fescue (TF) ‘Greenmaster’ 18 kg ha-1, orchardgrass (OG) ‘Kordione’ 9 kg ha-1, Perennial ryegrass (PRG) ‘Linn’ 5 kg ha-1, and Kentucky bluegrass (KBG) ‘Kenblue’ 2 kg ha-1, T3: TF ‘Greenmaster’ 9 kg ha-1, OG ‘Kordione’ 18 kg ha-1, PRG ‘Linn’ 5 kg ha-1, and KBG ‘ Kenblue’ 2 kg ha-1, T4: TF ‘Greenmaster’ 9 kg ha-1, OG ‘Onnuri’ 18 kg ha-1, PRG ‘Linn’ 5 kg ha-1, and KBG ‘Kenblue’ 2 kg ha-1}. In the botanical composition of grassland, T1 nearly remained constant in other seasons while ratio of weeds were increased in summer season. T2 was better than control (T1) in portion of grass ratio, which has increased by 80%. In the early time of establishment, the portions of OG were increased in T2, but TF rate was increased after 3 years later when grass was established. T3 and T4 showed a very similar patterns, grass ratio had increased by 80% and the portion of KBG had increased as time passed. T2 (129,763 kg ha-1) was showed the highest dry matter yield than other treatments (T1: 6,756 kg ha-1, T3: 9641, and T4: 10,738) in 2016.
The objective of study was to find the relationship in hilly pasture landscape expectancy and tourist’s satisfaction on grassland facility. It was followed by literature reviews and visitors’ survey in Daegwallyeong Yangtte Farm on 31, July, 2014. 367 respondents were analyzed by F-test, t-test, Chi-square and Fisher’s Exact Test at 0.05 level after data screening process. Computing factors were sex, marital status, age, academic career and occupation. The results was as followed; First, major respondents group of survey were in oder of woman, forty years old group, married office worker, and university graduate. Second, the expectancy for grassland was significant difference in age, but pasture color expectancy was not significant difference in gender, age, educational background, marital status, and there was significant difference in favorite grassland type with age, marital status. Third, favorite fence type was not significant difference along with all group of participants. However, color and material of fence was significant difference in marital status. Fourth, preferred ranch road was significant difference with occupation and marital status. There was significant difference in favorite grassland type near ranch road along with age and occupation type. Fifth, the mean satisfaction was 3.6 point in 5.0. Therefore, all respondents were generally satisfaction in visited. Tourists were more interested in ranch landscape than experience or contacts to animal.
This study was conducted to ameliorate the productive performance of Hanwoo cow using hill pasture grazing system. Twenty seven animals aged 9 were designed to divide with 3 groups which were Control (restricted concentrate and hay for 5 months), T1 (restricted concentrate and pasture grazing ad libitum for 5 months) and T2 (restricted concentrate, 30 g/head of mineral nutrients and pasture grazing ad libitum for 5 months). Average daily gains increased higher in the order of T2, Control and T1. The conception rate of Control, T1 and T2 after artificial insemination during post-grazing period were 88.9%, 100%, 100%, respectively. In conclusion, the results indicated that hill pasture grazing system might enhance not only the productive performance of Hanwoo cow but also profit for conventional feeding system.
This study was conducted to find out the effects of Improvement of Botanical Composition Technology (IBCT) on the forage production and ecological characteristics in a Rumex acetosella-dominated hilly pasture in Pyeongchang, in a period from August 2013 to the end of growing season in October 2015. 2MT ha-1 limestone was applied in August 2013 and April 2014. Liming significantly increased soil pH from 4.69 to 5.47 and then the soil pH consistently hovered at 4.91~4.98. For every grazing time, plant height was found to be higher with the application of IBCT as compared with the control. After grazing, no significant difference in plant height was found between the IBCT group and the control. Changes in the botanical composition of grassland can be affected by a lot of circumstances, but application of IBCT decreased Rumex acetosella from 12% to 2%, while also increasing the proportion of pasture. In relation to the botanical composition of grass, orchardgrass and timothy showed the highest percentages throughout the whole study period. The proportion of Kentucky bluegrass increased over time while tall fescue steadily decreased. The totals for grazing days were 58 in 2014 and 55 in 2015. Average herbage dry matter intake was 7,848 kg ha-1 in 2014 and 6,941 kg ha-1 in 2015. Due to the application of IBCT, dry matter productivity showed a significant increase of 59% during the first grazing period in 2014 (3,437 kg ha and 5,460 kg ha in control and IBCT). In 2015, the total dry matter yield of the IBCT group was 51% greater than the control (5,742 kg ha-1 and 8,685 kg ha-1 in control and IBCT). Under acidic soil conditions, red sorrel can grow more strongly than grasses because it has better tolerance in dry and acidic conditions. Therefore, constant management is required in order to keep red sorrel from dominating the hilly pasture. In this study, the application of IBCT was able to effectively control weeds at all points. As a result, total management, including improvement of soil, overseeding, and application of selective herbicide and fertilizer, is needed to maintain excellent grassland conditions due to the limiting effects of environmental factors on grassland productivity.
본 연구는 산림부산물과 국내 유기농부산물의 사료가치와 유기흑염소 생산에 기초적인 자료를 얻고자 산지 초지유형에 따른 흑염소의 사료 섭취량, 소화율 및 질소 축적율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 공시축은 한국재래흑염소이었으며, 사양 시험에서는 흑염소 40두를 4처리구(개량목초구, 유기목초구, 산야초구, 수엽류구)로 나누어 처리구당 10두씩, 소화율 시험에서는 처리구당 3두씩 완전임의 배치하여 시험을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 사양시험기간 동안의
본(本) 시험(試驗)은 관리(管理)를 포기(抛棄)한 산지초지(山地草地)의 식생천이(植生遷移)를 조사(調査)하여 산지초지(山地草地) 관리(管理)에 이용(利用)코자 1993년부터 1996년까지 경기도 여주 야산지(野山地)에 조성(造成)한 초지(草地)에서 수행(遂行)되었던 바, 그 결과(結果)를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 초지(草地)의 식생(植生)은 정지초지(整地草地)는 관리포기 후 l년차에, 임간초지(林間草地)는 방치후(放置後) 2년차에 식생이 가장 많이 변하였다. 2. 관리(管理)를 중단(中斷)한 후 초지식생(草地植生)의 생활형(生活型)은 미세지형(微細地形) 정지초지(整地草地)나 임간초지(林間草地) 공히 반지중식물(半地中植物), 지중식물(地中植物), 지표식물(地表植物)은 점차 감소하였으나, 1년생(年生) 식물(植物)과 어린나무를 포함한 관목류(灌木類)는 현저히 증가되었다. 3. 식생(植生)그룹간의 유사성(類似性)은 식생구성(植生構成) 초종(草種)에 따라 크게 영향을 받았는데, 이와 관련하여 초지(草地)의 식생구성(植生構成)이 비슷한 군락(群落)이 유클리드 거리계수(距離係數)가 가깝게 집단(集團)을 형성하였으며, 유사성(類似性)이 낮은 식생(植生)그룹은 유클리드 거리계수(距離係數)가 보다 먼 곳에서 서로 묶여지는 경향을 보였다. 미세지형(微細地形) 정지초지(整地草地)나 임간초지(林間草地) 공히 관리를 중단(中斷)하면 개량초지(改良草地)와는 다른 산지야초지(山地野草地)나 임야(林野)로 천이(遷移)되었다.
본(本) 시험(試驗)은 산지초지(山地草地)에서 관리(管理)를 포기(抛棄)한 후 초지(草地)의 식생(植生), 생태적(生態的) 반응(反應), 초지(草地)의 사료가(飼料價) 및 현존량(現存量)의 변화를 조사하여 산지초지(山地草地) 관리(管理)에 이용코자 1993년부터 1996년까지 경기도 여주 야산지(野山地)에 조성(造成)한 초지(草地)에서 수행(遂行)되었던 바, 그 결과(結果)를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 초지(草地)의 식생구성(植生構成)은 정지초지(整地草地)나 임간초지(林間草地) 모두 방치후(放置後) 야초(野草)와 관목류(灌木類)는 점차 증가하였으며, 목초(牧草)는 비교적 빨리 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 2. 초지(草地)의 수분가(水分價), 토양반응가(土壤反應價) 및 질소가(窒素價) 등 초지의 생태적(生態的) 반응(反應)은 미세지형(微細地形) 정지초지(整地草地) 및 임간초지(林間草地) 공히 크게 감소되는 경향을 보였다. 3. 초지(草地)의 사료가(飼料價)는 방치전(放置前) 정지초지(整地草地)는 7.06에서 방치후(放置後) 3년차는 4.60으로 임간초지(林間草地)는 방치전(放置前) 6.81에서 방치후(放置後) 3년차에는 4.38로 현저히 감소되었다. 4. 초지(草地)의 현존식생(現存植生) 생초량(生草量)은 방치전(放置前) $1.63{\sim}1.48kg/m^2$ 수식 이미지에 비하여 방치후(放置後) 3년차에는 $0.84{\sim}0.68kg/m^2$ 수식 이미지으로 48.5~54.1% 감소되었다.
