Smart phones have brought rapid changes in this competitive world. Smart phone application developers are trying their best to consider the customer requirements in the most efficient way while considering all its attributes. However smart phone service quality has been given less consideration comparatively during the last few years. This paper proposes a measurement method for improving service quality of smart phone application. This method combines the service quality performance model (SQPM) and process capability index (PCI). The service quality performance model is used to identify service items that require improvement. Process capability index is used as a measure for prioritization of those improvements. Case study was carried out to search out important communication application service attributes. customer satisfaction level data was collected for users who used the application service. A total of twenty four service attributes were found during this survey. Using the joint approach of SQPM and PCI, five significant service attributes were prioritized for service quality improvement.
Since the advent of smart phones in 2007, the population of smart phone user has been increasing at stunning rate in Korea. In spite of many benefits such as full internet access, location based service, and easy installation of new applications, many social and medical researches have been reported the concern of overuse of smart phones, especially for teenagers on game and internet addiction. However, most of studies are based on the survey research, so often questioned to be limited number of sample and subjective, which can be overcome by evident-based study. The paper presents a pilot development of Google Android app that provides the 24-hour-measured application usage pattern of smart phone users. A requirement study performed with medical doctors and phycologists are discussed and the key technical and application issues are discussed and their solutions are presented. The system is designed to be extensible so that social network and additional service can be applied based on the user. The measured data is expected to be used for study the cause and treatment of game and internet addiction for teenagers and adults.

By the proposed method, we found five significant service items from three categories - execution, security and resilience and prioritized those items for improvement.
Jeon, Eun-jin. 2012. A linguistic analysis of Slang, which is registered in ‘Youth Slang Dictionary’ in Smart-Phone Application. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 20(1). pp. 267-293. This study analyzed slangs, which are registered in 'Youth Slang Dictionary' in smart-phone application, thereby having aimed to grasp the actual condition of slangs, which are now being used actively. This application is translating through registering slangs, which are used by adolescents, as if Korean dictionary, and is routinely updating, thereby being effective for grasping the actual condition of slangs, which are being lively used in the present age. As a result of analyzing Youth Slang Dictionary, the structural characteristic was indicated most noticeably, which expresses it with the first syllable by clipping a form in a word or word-phrase, given seeing in light of the expression. And sound transcription, Romanizaton, deletion, contraction, alternation, and addition were being indicated. Also, even the phenomenon, which newly expresses by producing new meaning, not the standard meaning of a word, was shown. Examining semantic characteristics, the slangs, which indicate figure, behavior, state, and psychology, were being used much. Each of slangs was strongly indicated the tendency of being used negatively, rather than being used positively.
In these days, mobile technology such as smart phone and GPS have an effect on business processes of many companies especially a transportation company. The purpose of this paper is to present the development processes of real time vehicles tracking and intelligent TMS(Transportation Management System) using smart phone applications.
The objective of this study is two-fold. The first is to redesign business process of the transportation company. Using BPR(business process re-engineering), we analyze current processes to find opportunities for improvement redefining processes after adopting mobile technology precisely. The second is to develop the real time vehicles tracking and intelligent TMS. Proposed system consists of four parts: (1) intelligent TMS(web system) (2) real time vehicle tracking application for TMS (3) real time tracking application for customer (4) salesman supporting application. Developed system was tested at the transportation company and was found to be useful system.
오늘날 정보통신기술의 급속한 발전으로 스마트 디바이스 보급이 점차 빠르게 확산됨에 따라 청각장애인들이 다양한 기기 들을 활용하여 비장애인들과의 커뮤니케이션의 장애였던 부분들이 직접이나 간접적으로 완화시켜주고 있다. 그러나 이러 한 보조기기들의 역할들이 활발히 이루어지지 않거나 청각장애인들의 불편한 점을 이해하지 못하여 불편함을 겪고 있다. 청각장애인을 포함한 모든 사회 생활영역에서 장애를 가졌다는 이유로 한 차별 금지법을 개정한지 12년이 되었지만 아직 까지 장애인들이 겪는 불편함은 여전히 겪고 있다. 따라서 이에 본 연구에서는 스마트 폰 기반으로 청각장애인들을 대상으로 소통지원이 가능한 애플리케이션 개발을 구현하였다. 이 연구의 필요성은 청각장애인들이 보조기기나 중개인 없이 비장 애인들과의 커뮤니케이션이다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해서 논문의 범주인 안드로이드 모바일 운영체제에서 이용할 수 있는 애플리케이션을 구글 파이어베이스 개발 플랫폼으로 개발하였다. 평가방법으로는 테스트 랩과 성능테스트를 사용 하였으며 결과에서 Slow rendering과 Frozen frames의 항목에서 Activity항목들이 현 출시되고 있는 애플리케이션과 비교 하였을 때 속도 면에서 문제가 없었으며, 특히 Login Activity값과 Search Activity값은 높게 나왔다. 어떠한 스마트 폰만 가지고 있다면 누구나 쉽게 앱 스토어에서 다운받아 비장애인들도 같이 사용하면 실질적으로 서로에게 많은 도움이 될 수 있을 것이며, 이를 바탕으로 향후 iOS와 웹 시스템을 추후 개발함과 동시에 이 시스템의 중요한 목적인 중계지원 서비스를 확대하여 청각장애인들의 사회생활에서 불편함 없이 자유로운 의사소통을 하기 위해 조금이나마 해소하고자 하는데 있다.
본 연구는 현재 어플리케이션 마켓 시장에 공급되고 있는 유아용 어플리케이션을 다양한 기준으로 분석하고, 유아들의 발달 특성 및 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 특성이 유아 교육용 어플리케이션에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지에 대한 가능성을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 아이폰 웹스토어 및 안드로이드 마켓 등의 교육 카테고리에 탑재되어 있는 어플리케이션 중 61개의 유아용 어플리케이션을 선정하였고, 학습 유형별 콘텐츠 유형, 인지부하원리, 멀티미디어 설계원리에 기반을 둔 분석기준을 토대로 유아용 어플리케이션을 분석하였다. 분석결과 좀 더 다양한 유형의 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었으며, 스마트폰의 성능을 최대한 활용할 수 있으며, 멀티미디어 설계원리를 준수하고, 무분별한 멀티미디어 사용을 지양하는 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었다.
