        The dose was evaluated for the workers transporting the spent resin drums from a spent resin mixture treatment facility. The treatment technology of spent resin mixture waste based on microwave was developed to compensate for the shortcoming of the existing one. The mechanism of the facility for the treatment is divided into separation, desorption, condensation and adsorption process. The treated spent resin that has passed through the microwave reactor flows into the spent resin storage tank. As the treatment time elapses, if spent resin accumulates in the spent resin storage tank, it is moved to the drum of the volume of 200 L. The drum must be moved by the worker, in which case radiation exposure to the drum transport worker occurs. It requires the dose evaluation for drum transport workers in terms of radiation safety. Dose evaluation was performed in consideration of the change in the composition ratio and weight of the spent resin mixture, where the working time for transportation was considered from 10 to 120 minutes in 10-minute increment. In the case of 100 kg of the spent resin mixture, the dose range was derived as 4.62×10−3 – 5.90×10−2 mSv for the 100 kg of spent resin, 4.72×10−3– 5.58×10−2 mSv for the 80 kg of spent resin and 20 kg of zeolite and activated carbon, and 5.38×10−3 – 6.32×10−2 mSv for the 60 kg of spent resin and 40 kg of zeolite and activated carbon. In the case of 150 kg of the spent resin mixture, the dose range was derived as 6.83×10−3 – 8.20×10−2 mSv for the 150 kg of spent resin, 7.13×10−3 – 8.22×10−2 mSv for the 120 kg of spent resin and 30 kg of zeolite and activated carbon, and 8.28×10−3 – 8.86×10−2 mSv for the 90 kg of spent resin and 60 kg of zeolite and activated carbon. The estimated maximum doses for each weight (100 kg and 150 kg of mixture) were confirmed to be 3.16×10−1% and 4.43×10−1% of the annual average dose limit of 20 mSv for radiation workers.

        The Co-60 is a radioactive material widely used in domestic and foreign medical, industrial, health and research fields. Currently, world market for the Co-60 is about 80 MCi/yr and is expected to grow to 150 MCi/yr by 2025. For the Co-60, Nordion of Canada occupies about 80% of the world market. In the case of Korea, a small amount of sources with relatively low radioactivity intensity are produced using research reactors, but most of the Co-60 is entirely dependent on imports. Accordingly, although the technical feasibility of the Co-60 production technology using the PHWR was evaluated, it was evaluated as a negative result on the additional construction of a hot cell, core management, safety analysis and economic feasibility. Canada, the main producer of the Co-60, is also conducting research on the Co-60 production technology using PWR with GE-Hitachi and Westinghouse as the number of PHWR is expected to decrease. In Korea, it is necessary to preoccupy the Co-60 production technology and auxiliary technology using the PWR by utilizing excellent technology, and active research is being conducted to secure unique nuclear power technology that does not depend on foreign countries. Therefore, in this study, the thickness and weight of the radioactive shielding required for handling (transport) of Co-60 produced using the PWR were calculated.

        We synthesized new hole-transporting material, N,N'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazyl (E-Cvz-2), 9,9'-diethyl-6-(9-ethyl-carbazol-3-yl)-3,3'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-3), 6-(9,9'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazol-6-yl)-9,9'-diethyl-3,3'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-4A) and 9-ethyl-6-(9-ethyl-3,9'-bicarbazol-6-yl)-3,9'-bicarbazole (E-Cvz-4B). EL luminance efficiencies of E-Cvz-2, E-Cvz-3, E-Cvz-4A and E-Cvz-4B devices were found to be 4.77, 5.68, 4.27 and 4.64 cd/A, respectively, when synthesized materials are using as a HTL material. The luminance efficiency of E-Cvz-3 is 25% higher than that of NPB, a commercialized HTL material used as a reference in this study.

        가축질병 바이러스는 매우 빠르게 전파되는 특징을 가지고 있으며 질병에 걸린 동물의 분비물에 접촉하거 나, 사람이나 차량에 의한 바이러스의 이동, 또는 공기를 통하여 전파가 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 가축 및 분뇨 운반차량이 질병을 전파시키는 요인이 될 수 있다고 판단하고 전염병 발생 시 질병의 이동 경로를 파악 하고 효율적인 방역범위를 설정하는데 기초자료로 활용 하고자 한다. 축산차량의 이동경로를 분석하기 위해 ArcGIS(Ver. 10.3, ESRI, USA)의 Spatial Statistics tool에서 Measuring geographic distribution방법을 활용하여 Directional distribution을 추출하였다. 결과 값으로 위도(Latitude), 경도(Longitude), Rotation, XstdDist, YstdDist을 얻었다. 그 결과 특정한 목적을 가지고 출발지가 일정 지역에 귀속되어 있는 가축 및 분뇨 차량의 경우 출발지점, 도착지점, 목적지가 크게 바뀌지 않을 경우, 이용하는 도로는 한정되어 있었다. 30대의 차량 중 대다수의 차량이 일정한 패턴을 가지고 평상 시 이용하는 경로만 이용하여 분뇨를 운반하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 전염병 발생 시 질병의 이동 경로를 파악하고 효율적인 방역범위를 설정하여 투입 인원과 장비를 줄이면서 현재보다 효율적인 방역 범위를 설정이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

        The biogeochemical information of riverine organic matter gives a detailed and integrated recording of natural and anthropogenic activity within a watershed. To investigate the changes in quality and quantity of organic carbon transporting from mountain to ocean via river channels, we estimated the concentrations of dissolved (DOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC), and then traced the source origin of POC using stable carbon isotopes ratio before and after summer rainfalls in the Tamjin River and Ganjin Bay, Korea. Along the small watershed, a total of 13 sites including headwaters, dam reservoir, river and estuary were established for the study. We found some interesting findings in the aspect of distribution of DOC/POC concentration changing their origin sources dynamically flowing downstream. In particular, the river channel transport downstream mainly DOC to river mouth, although upper dam reservoir increased POC concentration by phytoplankton production in summer. Whereas, in the river mouth and estuary, POC was dominated not only by local supply from nearby reed saltmarsh, but also by marine phytoplankton production, respectively. The findings can contribute to increasing the understanding of riverine organic carbon transport in upper large dam and lower open estuary system.

        Nowadays, consumption of fisheries products is increasing. There are several factors, one of which is a quantitative development through aquaculture. Another factor is an increase qualitative consumption of fish which require that fish be supplied alive. This requires a lot of technical effort to transport the live fish that have low survival rate (c.f. tuna and mackerel) in coastal waters and in the open sea. To develop a towing cage for transporting the live fish, model test in a circulate water channel and simulation by computer tool were carried out. In order to spread vertically, floats were attached at the upper part of the cage, and iron chains attached at the lower part of the cage. For horizontal spreading, kites were attached on the cage. The tension and spreading performance of the cage were measured. The result shows that the tension and reduction ratio of inside volume of the cage were tended to increase with increased towing speeds. The suitable operation condition in towing cage was 1.0 m/s towing speeds with vertical spreading force 8.7 kN, horizontal spreading force 5.6 kN; in this case the reduction ratio of inside volume of the cage was estimated as 25%.

        Despite the development of safety measures and improvements in preventive systems technologies, maritime traffic accidents that involve ships carrying hazardous and noxious substances (HNS) continuously occur owing to increased amount of HNS goods transported and the growing number of HNS fleet. To prevent maritime traffic accidents involving ships carrying HNS, this study proposes an intuitive route risk assessment technique using risk contours that can be visually and quantitatively analyzed. The proposed technique offers continuous information based on quantified values. It determines and structures route risk factors classified as absolute danger, absolute factors, and influential factors within the assessment area. The route risk is assessed in accordance with the proposed algorithmic procedures by means of contour maps overlaid on electronic charts for visualization. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed route risk assessment technique, experimental case studies under various conditions were conducted to compare results obtained by the proposed technique to actual route plans used by five representative companies operating the model ship carrying HNS. This technique is beneficial not only for assessing the route risk of ships carrying HNS, but also for identifying better route options such as recommended routes and enhancing navigation safety. Furthermore, this technique can be used to develop optimized route plans for current maritime conditions in addition to future autonomous navigation application.

        Today we live in a global village owing to the development of transportation and communication and almost one of ten couples in Korea are married with a different nationality every year. In addition, divorce cases between international marriage couples are increasing rapidly. As families form and dissolve across international borders, domestic family law does not adequately address the needs of parents and children with ties to multiple legal systems. The international parental child abduction exemplifies these complex issues. When the child has been taken or kept overseas by one of the parents, that child may suffer from linguistic, social and cultural barriers and the left-behind parent may have difficulties in finding or recovering a child. Accordingly, it is necessary that the international parental child abduction should be handled differently considering the differences with child kidnapping within the country. The international society(Hague Conference on Private International Law) adopted the “Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction(Hague Child Abduction Convention)” in 1980 and South Korea acceded to the Hague Child Abduction Convention on December 13, 2012, whereby South Korea became the 89th contracting nation to the convention. However, considerable number of marriage immigrants in Korea came from countries such as China, Vietnam and the Philippines and these countries are not party to the Hague Child Abduction Convention. In this respect, the effectiveness of the international civil remedy through the Hague Child Abduction Convention is being questioned. The Supreme Court of Korea declared the defendant(Vietnamese female marriage immigrant) not guilty on June 30, 2013. The defendant took a 13 month old baby to her native Vietnam without husband’s consent and she was charged with kidnapping and transporting kidnapped person to foreign country. In this ruling, there was a fierce theoretical battle between Justices and 5 of 13 Justices wrote a dissenting opinion. As the divorce rate of multi-cultural family is raising, the number of korean parents who suffer from problems related to international child kidnapping by foreign spouses is on the increase. Under these circumstances, this Supreme Court judgement has a significant meaning. This paper reviews this Supreme Court judgement mainly with the established requirements of kidnapping minor and transporting abductee to foreign country.
