In this study, compressive capacity of a new form-block-wall (FBW) was studied through both the prism test and compressive strength test for single form-block. In the experiment, main variables are the difference in mix design of block and in strength of grout concrete. The result of prism test showed that the compressive strength of FBW was largely influenced by the strength of grout concrete while it was not influenced by the block‘s mix design difference.

The structural damage patterns of the Korean Traditional Wood Structures classified as the Jushim-po and Da-po Type are investigated. The investigations are based on the reports of repairing or actual measurements for the Jushim-po and Da-po structures. One of the most important processes to accurately predict structural responses is to evaluate accurate structural dynamic properties using finite element (FE) models. The analyzed structural dynamic properties usually show considerable discrepancies with the measured ones because structural details are commonly simplified in the FE models. To identify such discrepancies, FE models of them have been calibrated using the measured dynamic properties in previous researches. In this study, dynamic properties were measured for a historic cathedral and the FE model of it was calibrated using the measured results as a reference. Finally, a procedure of the FE model construction for masonry cathedral were tentatively proposed.

This study focuses on the push-out tests performed for verifying the performance of Y-type perfobond rib shear connectors. The end bearing resistance of the Y-type perfobond rib shear connector may be determined by the sizes of rib height and rib width. Therefore, in this study, the end bearing resistance is analyzed according to the rib widths and rib heights.

The GFRP shear reinforcement is manufactured into a plate shape with several openings, and it is embedded into concrete with longitudinal steel reinforcements during construction stage. In this paper, the performance of the newly proposed shear reinforcement was investigated by carrying out a structural test on four concrete deep beam specimens. Test parameter is shear span-to-depth ratio, and the cracking pattern, failure mode and the effects of this parameter on the shear strength were examined.

The variability of deflection for reinforced concrete flat plates is large because of the uncertainty of concrete. But there is the minimum thickness or maximum allowable deflection only in the current design criteria. That is based on experiential data and does not consider the variability. Thus, Deflection evaluation based on probabilistic method is needed. A parametric study has been conducted to verification of influence of several parameters. In order to predict the reasonable deflection of reinforced concrete flat plates, a layered degenerated shell element also was adopted for finite element analysis.

A new type of GFRP shear reinforcement is proposed for reinforced concrete beams. The new GFRP shear reinforcement consists of GFRP plate material with openings to ensure complete integration with the concrete. The performance of the proposed shear reinforcement was investigated by performing tests on six concrete beam specimens with shear span-to-depth ratio of 2.4. Test parameters include the area of opening of GFRP plate and the shape of GFRP plate. The effects of these parameters on the shear strength of the GFRP plate shear reinforced concrete beam were examined.

Usually, columns are the key load bearing elements in concrete frame structures. They are typically weak, not to long distance explosive loadings, but to short distance loadings. In this study, the effect of blast loadings occurring within a short distance was examined analytically. Various aspect ratios of column sections with the same sectional area and reinforcement ratio were considered as variables in order to evaluate damage levels. It was found that ratio of residual strength to nominal axial strength of columns decreased as contact area of column to the blast loading became smaller.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the shear strength of the GFRP plate shear reinforced deep beam. The performance of the proposed shear reinforcement was investigated by performing tests on four deep beam specimens with GFRP shear reinforced specimen and unreinforced specimen. The shear behavior of reinforced concrete structure is one of the difficult problems that are not identified theoretically clearly yet despite the efforts of researchers for several years. Since bending and shear strength of hollow slab may decrease due to hollow part inside slab, prediction of such structure performance is very important. In this study, the shear behavior of one-way hollow slab were analyzed through experiment to conduct study on estimation of shear strength, and after comparative evaluation of structure performance based on experiment results.

In this study, an experimental study to investigate the shear friction behavior of the SC Wall to RC slab connection was carried out. The maximum shear friction capacity and failure mode were examined, and the results were also compared with theoretical value. Finally, the results are to be used for the basic reference of the design guideline(draft) for the RC-SC connection.

Generally, bolted connection was used in stainless steel structural basic design for stainless steel bolted connection is similar to that of carbon steel connection. However, stainless steel with high ductility can be more beneficial if the mechanical characteristics are well used. Experimental and analysis studies had conducted. Curling was observed in some specimens with a relatively long end distance and affected strength reduction of bolted connection. Besides, finite element model had developed and its validation was verified through comparison with test results. In this paper, parametric analysis was performed using proven FE model. Key variables are the end distance and plate thickness of bolted connection. Ultimate strength and curling effect were also investigated.

A deterioration of typical reinforced concrete bridge deck is due to the use of calcium chloride, cracks and water penetration inside of the deck slab with steel reinforcement. Therefore, in order to eliminate the defects of reinforced-concrete decks in terms of material, the steel-straped deck system is studied and developed by maximizing the arching effect while the girders are restrained using straps in lateral direction to the bridge. This parametric study was performed to analyze the structural characteristics of steel-straped deck, and to identify the factors of the thickness, span length and lateral restraint stiffness of deck slab considering the concrete nonlinearity.

In this study, to Assess the Structural performance of Reinforced Concrete Shear Wall with different Slit Length. Variable of analysis is slit length(0, 600, 1200, 1500, 2400mm), showed excellent accuracy. Maximum load is decreased when the slit length increased. But Side sway of maximum load is increased when the slit length increased.

The rebar module in the common basemat of the reactor containment building has developed to reduce the construction period. In this paper, three stages of concrete pouring were reviewed for the possible application of the rebar module. The lifting frame design was done to lift the rebar module and the construction simulation was done to check the interface in the construction process.
